Very arrogant and dismissive doctor. I know his advice has worked for some people, but not for me. I was struggling on the plant-based diet I was on and he literally laughed at me in one of the appointments when I told him about the feelings of depletion, faintness, insatiable hunger and stomach pain I was experiencing. Told me 'you just need to eat more' after many appointments and wasted time writing food diaries for him, which he obviously didn't read as I was eating everything he had recommended to me. He dismissed my pain and digestion issues as nothing to worry about. Through another GP I came to understand the source of the issues I was having. I think he didn't believe I was ill (which is insane, because no other doctor could deny that I was) because though I followed the typical advice he gives people, I didn't physically respond well to the type of diet he is promoting. It is dangerous for a doctor to deny someone as ill as I was at the time.

Dr MacKay is the best GP I've been to. He is always friendly and always happy to spend the time to explain anything you need to know. He is also a great advocate of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle, and without being pushy is always happy to help with ideas around this.

Love going to a doctor with a wealth of knowledge who also uses plant based nutrition to help heal chronic illness
