TL/DR: called, made an appointment to get a second opinion Post surgery, showed up, paid, literally got told "I'm just an old country doctor, I can't help you." I visited Dr. Yoo because I found on Google that he was one of the top rated ENT's in Texas. So you can imagine my surprise when the response I got from him after telling him that was "oh no, that's a lot of pressure, I'm just a country doctor and I can't help you". Obviously, I thought this was a joke. No – it wasn't. he obviously had no interest in offering me any help. He made it very clear that I was wasting my time there. I would've much rather he had outright told me that he was not comfortable treating me after I had had surgery with another doctor. I told him that I hear something flapping up against my ear -like some sort of obstruction in my middle ear. He just shook his head and said yeah I don't know. I even told him that when I move my jaw certain way I can taste blood in my sinuses. Again he just shook his head and told me I was all done and that I could leave. No, I might not be a doctor – but a suspected obstruction or a feeling of blood in the sinuses may be something worth investigating I would imagine. He said imaging wouldn't show us anything. I really feel based on what he said, insisting several times that I needed to understand that he was "coming into this halfway through my journey" that he just had no interest in picking up where my other doctor left off. That's totally fine, and I respect physicians decision to keep their hands clean, but he should've said that instead of taking my money and seeing me. Especially since I told them when I made the appointment exactly what my needs and expectations were, and that I was going to get a second opinion Post surgery- showed up, paid, literally got told "I'm just an old country doctor, I can't help you."

I went to be seen by Dr. Yoo today (Mar 20th 2023), I was refused to be seen and mandated that I get a pcr test for covid. I have a headache, being my only symptom that may line up with covid. I have been in two separate urgent cares and a emergency room to be seen for my ruptured eardrum due to a infection over the past week. Which, I was told by all the other doctors I need to be seen by a specialist as soon as possible, so I did my part in scheduling and showing up 15 min early to my appointment. When I explained this to the front desk, I am double vaccinated and have been to all these other doctors that none of them thought covid. I was informed that I will not be seen till I get a pcr test. The front desk receptionist was beyond rude, and refused to listen to anything I said. I would never recommend someone going there. I have several other words that I would love to say, that are beyond the facts of the matt er due to how I was treated. I just thought others would want to know that if you have an appointment they still might decide not to see you.

I've never been to an ENT before and this was my first time. I had a great experience!! Usually when I've gone to doctor's offices there is a long wait, however with Dr. Yoo, I didn't even have a wait, I was seen right away. I was expecting for a nurse to come in to listen to me explain what my issue was and then expected to wait for a long time, but a nurse didn't come in, Dr. Yoo came in and listed to what was going on and why I was there. He listened, took a look at what was going on and I left with my issue fixed and can now hear better. I was in and out of the office within 20 - 30 minutes and again was shocked at how quick yet efficient my visit was! Thank you to Dr. Yoo and the staff who work with him for such an awesome visit and for respecting your patients time!

Dr Yoo is an amazing doctor, I may have waited 7 minutes before I meet with him, he took care of my problem with in seconds and left the room only to return in 3 minutes, when ever he did have to leave he was back before you knew it. He was very professional, happy, understanding and just a great funny guy and listen to what I had to say, his staff was just has amazing could not have been nicer and so helpful. Also the Dr that did my hearing test and I wish I remember her name was just fantastic, I can't say enough about Dr Yoo and everyone there it was just wonderful and I am very lucky to be a patient of his. Excellent experience with this kind, through, doctor who patiently listened to me and answered all of my questions. He is very experienced and treated me with the upmost respect. His staff was also excellent! The professional audiologist who performed my hearing test was friendly and highly skilled. I had never had a hearing test but she made it easy and comfortable. She even made sure that my walk to and from the exam room was done safely. She made sure that i didn’t trip over any floor thresholds. I really appreciated that. The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. I truly felt that everyone in this office cared. I highly recommend Dr. John Yoo and his excellent staff.

Dr. Yoo is a wonderful and caring doctor. His main and only interest is providing the very best care for his patients. He is very secure in his abilities and, unlike many other doctors, he will place his patients over his own arrogance and refer a patient to another physician if Dr. Yoo feels the patient would be better served by another doctor. This makes him far and above the vast majority of doctors. He is certainly one of my favorite doctors and I would feel completely comfortable with him being the doctor for any one of my loved ones. Additionally, he is quite funny and a joy to talk with. He explains things so that a child could understand without sounding condescending.

Dr. Yoo is absolutely the best doctor I’ve had in Texas. He’s very nice, understanding, and intelligent. If I could give him 10 stars, I would. Not only do I always leave his office feeling better and hearing better, I leave feeling like he actually cares about my well being. When I’m getting a procedure done in his office he makes me feel comfortable and is always making sure of it. Every time I go in he makes me feel like he remembers me as a person, not just a chart. I only wish he could be my doctor for everything! All of the ladies in the office are also extremely nice and polite. Going to the ENT office is always a breeze with Dr. Yoo and his team. I recommend him 10/10!

Update: 8/10/21 I continue to have great service. Dr. Yoo remembers his patients and truly cares about them. I don’t tend to get sick but if I ever do (ears, nose, throat wise) this is where I go! I’ve had a great experience here. Their covid-19 protocols were great and Dr.Yoo is a great doctor. He cares about his patients and makes sure we are ok with his been medical opinion without forcing anything you may not want or need. I never liked other doctors trying to push irrelevant or extra “things” to me and making me uncomfortable. I will definitely be back and recommend their services to any of my friends and family. I look forward to getting my tonsils taken out for good!

I went to see Dr. Yoo for vertigo. He didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know about my condition. He explained to me that I needed to do certain exercises to help with the vertigo. I thought that he was actually going help me go though at least once while I was there. But no luck. Instead he gave me a paper with pictures and explaining on how do them on your own. All he did was help trigger the vertigo by sitting in a chair and having me tilt my head back and move it from side to side. At least help the patient go though the exercises once. So they will know they are actually doing correctly when doing it on their own. Totally waste of my time.

Dr Yoo is a considered doctor, he carefully listening to the information and the symptoms that you tell him. He asks more questions, and then he makes an examination. Upon what he found, he makes his conclusion. Though I still had some of the symptoms, but kept showing improvements, he prescribed no medication in my case. I was very satisfied, and I believe, that it is great that the doctor does not jump into giving a patient pills if he/she does not need them. Very often your own immunity can do the work more secure and efficient. For me, it was more important to learn what he can see through examination and how he interpret it. I recommend Dr Yoo.

Dr. Yoo is great! He really listens to you and only recommends what he feels is really necessary. I have an enlarged tonsil that my GP wanted me to have removed. At my age that is not an easy surgery. Dr. Yoo could have advised me to get surgery, but he did not. He said we would watch it closely to see if there are any changes, but to do a surgery like that at my age isn't something to take lightly. I really appreciate his care and completely trust him. He is very funny as well. Great bedside manner! Best I have come across in a long time. Thank you, Dr. Yoo. Oh, his staff is great as well.

Dr. Yoo is one of the best doctors I have ever visited. He is very thorough and went through all of my medical history so that he could accurately diagnose my symptoms. He was very attentive and listened to all of my concerns. If you need to visit an ENT for any reason, look no farther than Dr. Yoo. He will take care if you. The staff here is also very pleasant. Unlike most Doctor offices, they don’t make you feel like you’re just a number to get treated and get out the door. None of us enjoy going to the doctor, but Dr. Yoo and his staff made it as smooth and comfortable as it can be.

Dr Yoo and his staff are very pleasant and professional. I feel like they take your health risks during this time at an outmost priority. Dr Yoo himself stays on point with your needs and puts a plan in action to make sure your health issues are attended too and successfully completes each one before going on to the next one. He also makes sure you completely know what is wrong or maybe wrong and why he's doing what he's doing. I like Dr Yoo because I'm a person with many medical issues and I feel he'll address all my issues with care.

I have been a patient of Dr Yoo for several years. Dr Yoo and his staff run a highly professional practice, so it is a pleasure to be his patient. They have strict COVID protocols in place. When one arrives at the office they are required to send an “arrived” text message and are required to remain outside until they are informed the doctor is ready to see them. No waiting in a crowded waiting room. The audiology services offered at this office is also first rate. I have purchased 3 hearing aids from the through the years.

This was my first time here and I must say, they made a great first impression. I was able to get an appointment quickly. Check in process was easy. (You can fill out your paperwork via phone.) Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and the office, inviting. Dr. Yoo was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, personable, and professional. He was thorough and took his time in explaining things. He answered all my questions patiently making sure I understood what was being said. I highly recommend and would most definitely go back.

Great visit today with Dr. Yoo and his staff. I wished I had gotten the audiologist and nurses name who helped me. One staff member, had platinum hair (super cool), came to the rescue with treats and toys to help calm my kid down. Made me feel comforted that they made an effort to help us in our situation. After a few test with their very sweet audiologist, we waited for Dr. Yoo to give us results. He was very polite and Direct. Overall, great visit. I appreciate the friendliness and clear communication from everyone.

I do recommend the place. Dr. Yoo was very nice and actually spend time to talk with you and set you set ease. The only Con that I had was just the waiting time. I came in a little early and sat outside in my vehicle for some time before the called me inside, which I actually liked because I was not inside with a bunch of sick people. But when I came in, I sat in the room for another 30 minutes before being seen by Dr. Yoo. Once Dr. Yoo came in and saw you it did not take any time to finished which I really liked..

Dr. Yoo was very compassionate to work with. He addressed all symptoms and made me feel that what I had to state mattered. He provided a clear diagnosis and made it clear what the action items were. It was great as well that he handled all the intake screening questions. I find this approach more streamlined compared to having to tell the nurse all your symptoms then repeat everything to the doctor a few minutes later. I would recommend Dr. Yoo to anyone that needs a ENT Dr. in the Clear Lake and Pasadena area.

Dr Yoo is an excellent doctor and that's coming from a registered nurse who knows a good doc when I meet one. He's a very kind and reassuring clinician. I waited less than 10 mins to get into the exam room once registered with the front desk. I understand that some people may have had to wait awhile but that's because this doctor is very thorough and takes time to sit down and listen to his patients. My appointment never felt rushed. I highly recommend this doctor and the office staff was nice as well.

Dr John k.yoo is one of the Best doctors I’ve been too! I first took my younger son to see him due to some ear problems/allergies. He was so caring and trustworthy that I decided to go back for myself due to throat and ear problems. I’m glad that I did! He actually listens to your concerns, and doesn’t rush you out like most doctors do. He gets to the bottom of the issue and he is truly a kind caring doctor. I really enjoyed meeting with Dr. Yoo. He was a pleasant doctor to talk to as he was attentive and sincere. I would rate him easily 5 stars HOWEVER our follow up with the nurse has been a serious joke. The worst bedside manners and absolutely no customer service. We regret we won't be coming back even though we both had great experiences with Dr. Yoo but in the end it's not worth the extra stress dealing with his staff. I hope he gets a chance to read this as I'm most certain he may be unaware.

Recently we consulted with Dr Yoo. What a pleasant experience from the initial scheduling to check out . The entire process was so professional , with courteous staff members. Dr Yoo is incredible, with superb bedside manners. Extremely thorough and attentive to my mothers needs and concerns. As her daughter, I appreciate the mannerisms of respect he showed to her by addressing her issues WITH her, not me as her caregiver. Would most definitely recommend without any reservation .

Dr. Yoo is very knowledgeable and was able to easily diagnosis my problem upon the first visit. He was patience in educating me about lifestyle changes and things relating to the diagnosis. I was not prepared to get a scope in my nose and was rather nervous, however, he did an awesome job coaching me during the process and making sure I was as comfortable as possible during the scoping. He’s personable and I definitely did not feel rushed while I was there. Highly recommend him!

The office staff worked my mom into a busy schedule in one day. Dr. Yoo listened patiently to her detailed history, then gave my mom and I options based on her age and medical status. My mom chose to have an in office procedure and walked out of the office in about 30 minutes with a significant improvement in her hearing ability. Dr John Yoo is so awesome. He’s knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor! He won’t do anything for you unless it’s in your best interest! He’s not there to make the mighty dollar! He’s also my husbands ENT specialist. We both think he’s the very best of ENT’s out there! He never seems to age! Lol I appreciate him and his incredible staff! We arrived 45 minutes ahead of our appointment time and weren’t seen until 20 minutes after the appointment time. This is my only complaint about this office. Otherwise, the staff were all very kind, helpful, and professional, doctors and auxiliary alike. Dr Yoo and the audiology doctor were both very nice and informative and took the time to answer our questions. He related with my son very well.

I’m compelled to write a review because I recently had a visit with Dr. Yoo, and he exceeded every expectation. I had a medical issue that I was very concerned about, and Dr. Yoo was extremely thorough during the exam, HE called me after hours to let me know what my x-ray results were, and he was very personable/caring. Dr. Yoo is an amazing surgeon. He removed both my son's tonsils (5yrs old) then a few months later my tonsils (44 yrs old). Highly recommend him if you need a similar surgery. Great experience. Very organized pre screening process, was quickly in and out of the clinic. Visited Dr. John Yoo for an issue related to my left ear. Turned out to be just accumulation of ear wax. Dr. John cleaned both ears and set me free within 10 minutes. It was a pain free process. He was thorough and very friendly to interact with. I’d recommend him 100%.

Great experience. I was able to get a same day appointment. The wait time was almost nonexistent and the staff were all really friendly. First of all everyone there is very kind and helpful. There’s never a very long wait to see Dr Yoo. He is a very personable person and shows much concern for each one of his patients. He is very thorough and usually doesn’t stop until he’s tried everything. I recommend him highly.

Our family has used Dr. Yoo for a few years now. I love that they can always get us in quickly and he is very nice and explains well what is wrong and the treatment plan. We live an hour away and do not mind the drive due to not having to wait a month or longer to be seen.
