My extended family comes to this reasonably-priced, neighborhood family-style restaurant for birthdays, in particular my uncle who loves pizza and is wheelchair-bound. Eagle Pizzeria has my family sit against the wall on the right with all the photos and mementos. It's easy to roll my uncle in and out and can easily sit 16 of us comfortably at one long table. We are big eaters. We usually start with double orders of the antipasto salad, garlic bread and for some in my family bowls of minestrone, spaghetti and meatballs to share, and 4 - 5 larges or extra-larges (Eagle Special, Amy "E," Meat Lovers, Hawaiian and the Margherita), with pitchers of root beer. Eagle's pizza is on the thick crust side with more of a tomato base sauce and not heavy cheese, Toppings are plentiful, but not overly generous. The pizzas are not heavy pies or will reach your table super burning hot. We eat gluten, so have not tried their gluten-free crust. No one is hungry after we eat and usually there is a few slices left for those who want the leftovers. Service is efficient, but you do have to wait for the pizza. I think the wait is longer for us because of the quantity we order, the size of our party and if the place gets busy with after baseball/kid sport parties. We also start around 5:30 pm to 6 pm on Sunday nights so it's usually less crowded. Parking is also easier too without paying the meter. Eagle does allow us to bring our own birthday cake and does not add an additional cake cutting fee per person to our final bill. They are also generous by letting us stay and linger to talk after dessert. We usually stay between 2 - 3 hrs for dinner. 6/3/2017 Update: Very kid-friendly. Has high chairs (3), serves milk and apple juice beverage options and has a diaper changing table in their unisex restroom.

Eagle Pizza is a San Francisco staple if you have children who play sports and live in the Sunset District. The staff is bend-over-backwards great - friendly and very accomodating. It's a place for children of all ages to celebrate the end of a sports season and, for the adults, a good beer selection with some wine so the parents can talk amongst themselves eating Caesar Salads. You come here for the pizza, which is nothing spectacular, but it's served hot and accurate. The accommodations can keep everyone 2-years old and up in great spirits. The other items on the menu are also nothing special, but again, there are few places in San Francisco that can manage large groups of children and adults happily. We have had many sports parties here over the years and everyone leaves with great memories.

The only ever time I've seen this place busy is when it was flooded with a local baseball team and then it felt more like controlled chaos than anything else. Most of the times, it is quiet, which isn't as bad as it would seem in terms of judging a restaurant. Eagles Pizzeria is by no means the "best slice of pizza" or "best restaurant" you will find, but it is a quaint, modestly family-run establishment that is as good as it's owner. And the guy who runs the place is nothing but a hard worker who obviously loves sports, if the wall decor, tv channels, and time he spends cheering alongside diners is and indication. Can't fault a place like this.

I had the meat ball sandwich. It's how I determine if the food in a place is going to be good. If they can't do a meatball sandwich right the rest of the food won't be very good. It was very good. I could taste the savory meatballs through the simmered and slightly tart sauce. The cheese was melted but not napalm hot. I talked to Amy for a couple hours on a slow night. Hadn't seen her in over 25 years and that was 2,000 miles away from the Eagle Pizzeria. The food was great, the conversation was great and the service was excellent. And I still have pizza to look forward to!

“Sorry, I was busy talking to my boyfriend.” That was the explanation for why our order was wrong. They didn’t fix the screw up either. And it is where it starts with this place. After getting our order, we presumed any place with service that bad had to have amazing food. How else would they stay in business? That is where the real kicker came in. The food is mediocre at best—there are at least a half dozen pizza places in the Sunset that are better. Perhaps this place was good once upon a time. But it’s empty on a Saturday night. That is all you need to know.

I'm so confused where any of these good reviews came from, the pizza was a D or C rating at best. Ordered a 5 topping pizza; fresh garlic, green pepper, basil, sausage, and jalapeno on half and there was almost no sign of any of the toppings, I thought there was no sausage but my friend pointed out a piece. Even if it had more toppings it was the type of mediocre pizza I would expect from a neighborhood joint for around $15 But it came to $30.50! The real kicker was not getting the Tiramisu I paid for with the order. Boo this man

Wonderful service, friendly staff, cool decor if you're a Niners and/or Bay Area sports fan ..however, pizza was just okay. We all agreed that it was the type of cheese they use that gives it an "off" flavor. The crust was good though. Sorry Eagle...we wanted to like you but it is unlikely we'll return. We might stop in to gawk at your sports memorabilia though...

Eagle pizzeria is an old school spot that has great retro charm and a fun, talkative owner who will keep you entertained! The pizza is great, with a nice crust and crispy base but soft interior with a plentitude of toppings. Prices are fairly reasonable and service is quick and efficient, stop by and support a local business More

My favorite pizza place in the city! Ken & Amy are great, the place is perfect for families, nostalgic 90s trading cards, the crust is just right and the toppings are always fresh! Had them cater my son's birthday party and it was a hit. :)

Great pizza at a good for SF price. Service was slow but friendly. I think they were just slow because they were understaffed for a Golden State game night. Good and fairly low key option for Taraval dining, especially for families. 5 beers on tap 3 locals and 2 regular brands plus a ton of bottles.

Really fun neighborhood pizza joint. Great pies, beers on tap, frostsy cold glasses and warm, friendly service. Great place for large groups.

Really enjoyed our stop at this family owned pizza joint. It has a great family feel to it, the owner was great to talk with, and the place is great to grab pizza by the slice and a quick beer at a good price. We always love these welcoming places where it's easy to socialize.

  • Laura Burch

Neighborhood gem! The pizza was delicious -loved the crust and the marinara sauce. The pizzeria is family owned and operated by SF natives. We enjoyed our food and the friendly staff, who you could tell knew all the regulars. Kid-friendly environment. Will definitely return!

Definitely a San Francisco landmark, the true definition of a hole in the wall restaurant from mom and dad.my pleasure to be here after hours and enjoy their company. More than happy with their homemade quality

  • Cody Gibson

Pizza by the slice is good, but felt a little ripped off when I ordered a veggie slice to go, no olives and they charged oregano as a topping. $15+tip for two slices is a bit steep.
