Used to go here from 2009-2012. Amazing high school in so many ways. Really strong arts program with inspiring and passionate students practicing their craft, had the pleasure of seeing many great performances in arguably the best high school auditorium in the city. Many clubs and councils to choose from, some of which go above and beyond with their events and activities. Great selection of unique classes such as beauty class (with hair and makeup) and very clean and modern halls. Neighbourhood also offers a lot in terms of food, entertainment, and parks. Teachers can be hit or miss but thats the case for every school in the city. I wasn't into arts before coming here but some of my favourite memories ended up being art related (animation and film projects, classical guitar performance, etc). Anyways if you go here today, realize its a privilege and treat the school and the students accordingly.
I attended what was then Earl Haig Collegiate Institute from 1951 to 1956 (yes when grade 13 still existed!). The school then had about 1,100 students and the building was nowhere near the size or beauty of the present structure. It was a tough curriculum - in grade 13 I had a course load of 9 subjects that included 3 math, 2 science and 2 foreign languages. I recall there were 9 classes when I entered 9th grade but only 3 or 5 when I reached grade 13. It was a no-nonsense, solid learning experience and I am appreciative of my time there. I was fortunate to have taken grades 7 & 8 in one year so I was only 17 when I graduated from Earl Haig. I encourage all current and future students to make the most of your time during your high school experience. It will affect the rest of your life. Don't waste it!
Great school for having fun. Depends on who your friends with either you skip everyday or you don't. I would recommend a private school for better education since the stuff they teach in this school is a joke. The teachers aren't bad. Hey Ms Khan if u ever see this I'm sorry for passing out in your class everyday for a whole year... Lol I was always high and never really cared about English class. To this day I haven't passed English class but I make 6 digits so I'm pretty happy haha
Still go here for another year until I graduate 2018-2022. There are some really good teachers that you connect with, and of course some that you really don't like. This school has a lot of students, lots of pushing and shoving near the second floor to get to your classes. Multiple opportunities available, over 60 clubs and councils. The school and art events are amazing. Art Gallery is probably my favorite place to wander the halls. Hope to be in person again.
I just graduated from this school. The building is rly nice/modern looking and the school got a lot of money comparing to some other schools in the TDSB. There are lots of opportunities like clubs and councils. The electronics in this school are so bad so idk where the money rly goes.. at least they got the ac working now. Took me like 20 min to log into the computers in the library.
Arts, academics, sports, clubs, staff and student support, opportunities from club-wide to the international level, access to public transport, weird kids of all ethnicities and clothing choices for you to befriend... what else do you need? Remember kids school is what you make of it and this place has A LOT to offer.
To anyone considering college. To get into the co-op Program at Seneca you need a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8. They’ll tell you 3.5 is fine but they don’t accept anyone with a GPA less than 3.8. Previous comment : It was ok. You do have to be very good at working independently to succeed here.
If you need marks for Math, do not come here. The teachers will always go beyond the normal textbook and assign questions from old Grade 13 textbooks onto the test. They do this to "prepare" you for university, but unless you are a genius it will cripple your mark.
Great opportunities at EarlHaig and ClaudeWatson. My granddaughter has opened up to a variety of opportunities. It is so great to see how she lights up talking about all the things that she can do and has done. Can't wait to see what she does this year.
A private school with a bunch of people that think they are the best because the school is in the top 5 best schools in Canada. Only way to get in is to audition and be the very best or have multi million dollars to live close to the school.
Great staff and gorgeous building. There’s a ton of clubs and councils to join and its such a lively school. The options are limitless for any opportunity. The interior is gorgeous and innovative.
Curriculum and teachers challenge students. Expectations are high. If you're looking to get marks to boost your average for university, don't come here unless you're expecting a challenge.
Most of the teachers are brilliant, and there are over a hundred clubs and council's so that everyone has an opportunity to pursue more than just academics at this school. JOIN MATH CLUB!
There are a few good teachers but most of them are not very good. The washrooms smell like weed and are always messy. Otherwise, the school is ok and the education system is really good.
The hygiene at school was poor and I had been bullied by my classmates and locked in the toilet. I asked my teachers for help, but I was still ridiculed and rejected by my classmates.
It's a good school. Teachers are friendly, most staff are ready to help you out and teach. The library would be my favorite place in the school. It has a great collection
I heard bad things about the teachers in this school as well. Most schools around this area don't offer strong support against bullying.
po po chased me up hall and i ran into princibles office and hit police officer with ruler and ran like i got feed mac n cheese
heard they tried to gasslight a black girl into not being offended at a white kid saying the n-word. not a good look sis
Listened a lot about this school. Thinking to admit my son in this school. Nice environment and friendly teachers.
Gta hasn’t been releas'd yet and mine own cousin won’t putteth on deod'rant Stinky school because of him
One of the best secondary schools in Toronto with amazing teachers and very motivated students.
Lmao it kinda is too crowded. It takes at least 15 km and two swims to get to History class.
Spent grade 9 in this school. Those were some of the best memories I had. Great school.
My team and I were there today for a basketball tournament and everyone was really nice
School of rich Asian/ Persian kids. Had an amazing 4 yrs in EH I love you Mr. Motica!
I'm from Toronto and the thought of knowing that SCOTT HELMAN went here surprises me.
After a few years of attending I have decided to increase my rating of the school.
Some people don't flush the toilet and toilet paper is everywhere. …
From my year in 1959....not pleased with myself and the "remote" teachers.
Good school, best funded in Toronto, but poor Air conditioning.
high school, like most things, is what you make of it
