Edit: So I have come here a few times over the last few years and have realized this place is a hit or miss. Brunch service is great. Dinner service is always a miss. I was here in July, a friend and I walked in, and were put on a list for a table. We were told the wait time of 30 minutes. We said no problem and proceeded to wait outside the restaurant on the bench. We were in clear view of the numerous hostesses. During the 30 minutes we saw multiple guests seated, but we brushed it off thinking they all had reservations. After the 30 minute wait we saw the hostess come outside, talk to another hostess while looking at us, and then went back inside. This happened several times. I walked in after over one hour of waiting and asked why I hadn’t received a call yet. I was told they tried to reach me but that my phone number was incorrect. I then told them that they had seen myself and my friend waiting right outside, and asked why didn’t they come to get us. No one said anything. We were then told they had a table ready for us. I then quickly realized that all of the guests seated before us were non POC. There are some other reviews that are similar when it comes to race so this may be an issue during dinner service. Once we were seated on the patio we asked for the heater to be turned on and we were told that none of the heaters were working. Why even have them out then?! I was done at the point. Won’t be coming back here. Original: Great service and attentive staff. Brunch was awesome. Following COVID protocols, felt super safe!

July 31 - 3 Stars - went last night to the lounge. Got a table for 8. We go for happy hour as my previous review states. I’m conflicted because the drinks were good, the food was delicious but the service was really lacking. Not to throw anyone under the bus but our server wasn’t that strong that night. We were always calling her over to order more drinks and food and at one point we had a 22 minute gap before she came back to us. Drinks were wrong when they came and it felt like it was our fault. Good news is we will be back. We will chalk this up as she was having a bad night. I don’t judge any restaurant negatively because 1 person may not have met my expectations. Everyone is allowed to have an off night. We will be back. It will take a few bad visits for us to stop coming back. However, I’m going to stick with the 3 star rating on this visit because our evening conversation should never include the lack of service we are receiving. That should not be he topic of conversation and last night it came up far too often. *********************************************** July 26 - 5 Stars - Hit the patio last night for wing night. Great atmosphere. Food was great, service was great. Jacob, who was a manager of some type came over and introduced himself. Young guy and very personable. Hot wings are great for a “chain” type restaurant. You can’t get a better value then the happy hour street tacos. This may be my go to Earls Instead of the Westhills earls. It’s open later and the staff gives a better vibe.

I haven’t been here for so so long, this used to be my Friday hangout however I don’t come here often anymore! A friend of mine proposed lunch here and I thought sure why not? I ordered the chicken kungpao and he ordered Reg Tuna Poke rice bowl! We had a great meeting however, I was very very disappointed with the chicken compile and the five peppers that the peppers were seeded & there was no spice they were not spicy at all. I was very disappointed and I didn’t want to interrupt my meeting to order or two request for hotter peppers.! It was quite salty for me, and there was no taste in the noodles I mean it looks fantastic, but the taste for me wasn’t there! I really do love the ambiance and the service here but food definitely will have to try different dishes because portions are quite huge. I couldn’t finish it off.!

I remember the reason why I no longer come to Earls. First and foremost, the attitude of some of the staff is as if they are annoyed that we are there. Service is slow until you ask for the bill, and they come running. ZERO personality. Secondly, attention to detail is non-existant. The food itself, which i had ordered the truffle tortellini and steak was as if the tortellini was purchased from Costco, just barely warmed up (the cheese was hard inside, the pasta was equally undercooked) topped with a few slices steak. I ate it because i was famished and didn't want to wait any longer for food. We had asked for two side cesear salads, and only received one. I didn't bother to correct the order after receiving the meal as i was already annoyed. I wish the restaurant staff and kitchen would work on their energy as much as they do upping the prices for such terrible food and service. Such a disappointment.

Terrible food and service. Visited for brunch during the first weekend of the Calgary Stampede and typically Earls produces a standard dining experience but unfortunately they missed the mark on this busy weekend. Our server was nice but she was clearly overworked and run off her feet. She barely had a second to take our order or pour water which is not her fault. We ordered the avocado toast and eggs Benedict and 3/4 meals came out cold and the eggs were poached so long they were rock hard. We notified the server and they remade the two egg dishes only to be served with rock hard eggs and cold the second time around. Clearly the kitchen and the servers were understaffed and it showed - the service was poor and the food was terrible. It was a very disappointing experience. They ended up taking the two dishes off the bill which was appreciated. It appears this place is under very poor management and it shows.

This location is in the trendy heart of Calgary's you walk in you will be impressed by the entrance.... You are greeted by (always) Two Beautiful ladies who escorts you to your seats. The views out the window are nice as well the inside of the restaurant. During summer they have a lovely outdoor back patio open..food is expensive but so worth it . Appetizers are tops..recommended the chicken Tacos...its a light dish full of flavours. You WILL make noises it's that good...served with perfectly ripe Avacado on top. Salads are amazing ..great Bartender. Atmosphere is light..young ..and staff are well trained and polite. Bathrooms are huge clean and well maintained. The kitchen is in full view and you will see quiet cooking staff busy at work. There is a lot for free parking .

Always a great time at Earls on 4th. A friend and I go out of our way to visit this particular location for the unparalleled food and service. Tonight Aiden was our server and everything was fantastic. He’s very personable and remembers the small details even if it’s been awhile since our last visit. One of the managers Cass even came to check in on us which I thought was nice service. Everyone that interacted with us genuinely seemed to love their jobs and it was refreshing to see. I recently ordered off of DoorDash for one of my first times with you guys. We were not able to add garlic bread on and the lady said no problem she would add it for us. So I thought they were doing this as a courtesy she did not tell me it was going to be more money, her name was Ella. I would suggest that you do let Clients know it will be an added fee in the future. So I’m not very happy about this as I thought they were just doing this as a kind gesture. Since we are loyal clients that have been going here for over 25 years. Food quality today was comparable to subway. You guys need to be more straightforward and not gaslight your customers.

Great place and atmosphere. Yesterday we went there for business dinner... It took then 45 mins to sit us. Apparently they were short staffed. Then we had a waitress that took our order of drinks, brought 2 out of 3 and another water came over to ask us if we want anything... No introduction or explanation waiters changed. Food was amazing great portions and perfectly seasoned. When I asked about a copy of the receipt I never got the print with the tip on it. Apparently where we were sitting there was a small wind current that got us all wiping our noses all evening. I'd definitely go back but check if there are staffed before I do another reservation.

@earlsrestaurant what an amazing place for dine in. Ambience is fancy and food is delicious. This fancy place must deserves a visit. They have a nice low volume music playing, have a neat rest room. Situated on ground floor so easily accessible for wheelchair. Staffs are really nice. We went in happy hour and got food options for very good prices. Drinks were available at good cost too. Overall loved this place.

You’re slipping!!! Food was ok. Service was absolutely awful. Had to ask twice for a drink. Sat for over 10 minutes before we received anything. Never did get any water the whole time we were there. One person was drinking soda water. Was never asked if they wanted a refill once and ate their whole meal without a drink. No one came by to do a quality check and no ketchup for the overcooked fries. VERY poor service

Don't bother ordering take-out. The noodles weren't even cooked - and I mean hard - and the dish was not even close to the quality you get in the restaurant. Delivery time was minimal so there's no excuse. There is a reason people request cutlery... don't make it an option on the menu if you're not going to send it. Salad was tiny for a small salad but at least was tasty and edible compared to the pasta. Save your money - even Boston Pizza is better than this. Definitely won't be ordering again.

Earls is fast loosing its charm. A long staple on 4th street it is not as popular with the residents as it once was. We used to spend a lot of time and enjoy a lot of food (=$$). Now it’s just usually for after dinner drinks Today is Heritage Day in Alberta. Holiday. I went in to enjoy brunch and have a glass of wine. Only to be told it’s not really a holiday. Came here the other day for a nice lunch. Atmosphere and food was good as always, the Ahi Tuna Bowl always a hit. Our waitress Madeline was the sweetest. Always made sure we had everything we needed, checked up on us regularly, and so easy to connect with. Truly a very kind hearted person, she made our night at Earls so much better. Service was very quick and atmosphere was great as usual. Will be coming back again soon.

First thing to notice...the atmosphere and decor is amazing. There is one side that is all bar, another side leads to a patio and then a third side that is dining area. As a chain restaurant, this one does a great job with food and service. The happy hour menu here is highly recommended. The regular menu also has a good list of different foods to eat. Very reasonable pricing/portions and delicious food thay tastes just right. A perfect spot even for those with kids. The service is friendly and quick.

I used to eat at earls years ago, and not sure what happened lately (?!) but this place is a complete ripoff, look at the pic and that’s what you get for a chicken fettuccine for $25 ! Very dry and low protein, almost inexistant/dry lumpy sauce and few noodles/pasta. The bottom line, eat somewhere else and if you have some cash to burn go have a pricey tasting of the food at earls. Also - the service is cold may need some warmth into it.

Pleasantly surprised with this Earl’s location. I met a friend for a business lunch and really enjoyed the decor/ ambiance of the restaurant. Service was quite good and attentive and I really liked the individual bathrooms. Ordered a fried chicken sandwich and it was pretty good (i usually expect the worst when dining these types of franchise restaurants). Wish the fries were thicker and had more seasoning but that’s pretty minor. Would visit this location again most likely for drinks with friends.

Friendly staff and very nice environment. We order our go to dish and it was amazing as usual. Hunan kung pao and sushi tacos.

Ordering take out from here is a nightmare. I enjoy the Hunan Kung Pao dish and like to order every once and a while for convenience since we live nearby. Awesome earls to go during late night eating. Some earls close at 12 am during weekday but this place close at 1 am. I work evening shift sometime and it is hard to find places that open pass 11 pm. The clam chowder is the best in town. The bowl we had was filled with full of seafood scalloped clams and bacon I believe we got the end of the pot during last call. Definitely should come here if you looking for a late night eat.

on Friday I came in to have a bite to eat and I must say the employee who took care of us name was Laila and she was just fabulous my food was fast and she was oh so nice and definitely knew what she was doing! I had the half combo chicken and ribs and it was amazing! Would definitely come back for the food and the service!

Pleasant experience with staff. We ordered vegetarian burgers and flat bread with three cheese/artichoke dip. Taste has changed for burger or maybe this was first time I had it at Calgary location. They also offered 20% discount as it was a takeout ( because of Covid19) which obviously was awesome!

Excellent food. Visited here during a business trip to Calgary. Really nice layout. Nice seating and views all around. Rating of 4 stars was provided just because the waitress didn't even bother checking in once after providing my meal. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Our favourite earls location. I have been to one on macleod and the atmosphere, service and seating is much better! The food like always, so good! Been there for table for 2, 4 and last night was for 7! The server was very nice and helpful with questions! Always recommend!

I had a special occasion and booked a table there. However when I came to the restaurant it was closed! I got a valid confirmation of booking. Why it is not mentioned on the site that the restaurant is closed? My impression of this place was spoiled.
