I have to agree with other reviews in regards to bullying. We left recently and are very glad we did. There's a real problem with this school. We were very let down. A boy bullied my son horribly at this school and encouraged others to do so as well. Any time my son retaliated it was my son who was punished, rather this other boy as the other kids were too scared to speak up and the teachers and principal never properly investigated. We came to terms with the fact that this boy was just from a rough family and unfortunately the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Eventually we got a decent teacher who recognised that the other kids throughout the class ostracised and picked on him (prompted by this boy) and there was a terrible culture throughout this particular year. Once again, we moved, and have found the bullying procedures at other schools much firmer and involved. My son went on camp once while at EAS. He has a medical condition and as such, as a parent I should have been able to attend the camp to take care of his medical needs at no cost. There are provisions for a number of parents to attend camps and children with medical needs take priority. Once again, no policies were followed and I was forced to pay to attend the camp and stay in my own cabin so that my son could attend. The parents that did go on the camp 1. Work for the school 2. Do not have children with medical conditions 3. Had no reason to be on the camp other than that they wanted to. There is a terrible culture at this school of playing favourites amongst the parents and a number of parents now work in the office and are given liberties that no other parent is. Looking back and now seeing how other schools work their camps and policies/procedures, I should have made a formal complaint through the Education Department.

Not sure what's going on with some of the negative reviews here but my daughter has been going here since prep, this is a great school. Great staff. The principle, Vicki, is awesome. Our daughter was being excluded by friends over a disagreement. Before we we even aware of what was really going on the 5 girls had been in group counselling and helped to talk the whole thing out and move on. We were called in to let us know that it was all sorted. Amazing. Lots of stories like this. Reading help, maths help, all really top notch. The OHSC is great. Good community. Can't say enough positive things about this school.

Mrs Dagmar Bevan harassed and bullied my autistic child every school day from ages 5 to 8. He was segregated and excluded from classes and activities. He was often screamed at and humiliated. This despicable person was investigated by the Dept of Education and even admitted these crimes to me, but she fled to another school and never faced any repercussions. My son however now has PTSD. Is that fair? If you have had issues with this person, please reach out to me. To the schools that hire these types of psychopaths, do better. This is illegal. Our children deserve better.

This school has two drop off and pick up zones yet day in and day out we see so many selfish parents that can not be bothered trying to find a park pull up in these zones and get out and walk there children to the classroom or go in and pick them up the people responsible for running this school need to do something about it not just stand there watching his happen

Bullying is a real problem at this school. The school victim blames. Easier to get rid of the victim than the bullies!! Used to be a good school, no longer. Also, don't expect to be able to leave a review on Rate My Teachers. It won't get published. Obviously someone from the school is a moderator.

Me as a child is telling all parents that might send there kid to EAS to not because the kids here are mean bullies and if your child comes from another country and is joining this school your child is going to find it very hard to fit in. Don't Put Them Through The Hell.

so bullying is an issue, you are made to feel like you amount to nothin, the kids dont own up to anything and there is always a problems. the teachers dont do anything to help the kids and they scam the fundraiser events

East Adelaide is a fine school, some teachers and the principle are nice and helpful. The only problem I had experienced was the mess, and some teachers and most students being a pain. I miss East Adelaide School

if I could give it 0 stars I would, terrible teachers. the teachers spend most of their time watching NETFLIX while class is working. DO NOT put your kid through this hell.
