The car itself and the drop off service was great. But our flight was delayed getting in and we had to really rush to make it in time before the last shuttle left to the pick up destination. We rang up the driver who kindly came to get us even though it was nearly past the 7.30pm "closing" time. The information email we were sent states no after hour pick ups are allowed but I wonder what would happen if we didn't make it in time due to flight delays- would we be stranded without a car despite having paid for the day already? Obviously flight delays are out of our hands. There must be more flexibility for airport travellers. Pick up took much longer than other car hire companies due to new trainees- not great when we had 3 young kids who were all tired and wanting to just get going. Added insurance should not be offered if we have already indicated what we want online, as it wastes time and adds confusion to what we already thought were confirmed quotes. Stick to what the customer has opted for and don't try to sway us into paying more! Trainee staff also walked us halfway out to car, stopped in middle of car park, did not advise us to do a car check, only indicated for us to sign off on the ipad to say we have received vehicle. Need more staff training to the processes required when handing over a hired car to customers. Car itself was new, clean and easy to use. Drop off was seamless and staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Would consider using this service again, but definitely room for improvement.

Very unprofessional approach by one of the blonde hair lady. Very rude and disrespectful towards costumers. She behaved in rude manner a couple with kid before me, didn’t even helped with baby seat (she was saying you carry and fit it by yourself) while other staffs were so good with costumers even helping to fit baby seat. I was praying not to be deal with her but unfortunately waited long so ended up with her. She asked me if i want to add insurance first and i said no, again she was keep repeating with the manner that if I don’t take insurance i will crash the car. Her job is to give me options not trying to impose something people don’t want. During paper work, she looked bored and acted like she is giving me her own brand new BMW. Once we went to inspect car she again said “you made wrong decision not to take insurance, it’s School holiday and you have baby”. How unprofessional someone can be “She took photos of car and said to me if you like you can take photos but we know our cars how it is” Seriously??? During process this woman didn’t have any smile, any basic courtesy of costumer service. Although all other staffs were doing so good as i saw. Ruined my day. How pathetic someone can be. Hired car on 4/10/2023 around 11 am

We requested the shuttle bus, from the link that was sent to us, followed the instructions and pictures on how to get the pick up location, shuttle bus was there in 5 minutes, must say it was very easy to follow. The shuttle bus driver Comrad was very funny and and made us feel welcomed after a long flight over from WA Once we got there, Comrad helped with our luggage and and then we went into the office. Katerina the lady that served us was very friendly and helpful especially when explaining about the insurance, it is nice to know how third party insurance works as she explained to us that we were not covered by east coast if any damages were to happen to the rental and that third party insurance is only a refund policy. She explained to us to book directly through the rental company websites which I will be doing from here on out. When we returned there was a nice man waiting, he greeted us with a smile and inspected our car quickly and efficiently, once he was finished he instructed us to get on to the shuttle bus and we’re were on our way. I am now a big fan of east coast car rentals, because of the service and the car was amazingly clean and brand new, we will most definitely be back again. Thank you east coast car rentals.

easily the best and cheapest car rental service in all of... the east coast! you will always get new cars and you won’t get them anywhere else a lower rates that eastcoast has. however, their premium insurance can be a bit expensive and they do hold $1000 bond before you pick up the car which is reasonable... I mean you get it back so it’s not issue. this is consistent with most other renters. and they also charge a hefty fine if you don’t use insurance if anything were to happen to the car, but as long as you drive well, you should be in good hands. I would highly recommend taking your own dash cam just so you can cover yourself if anything were to happen. I bought a dash cam just for car rentals and so far I’ve never had to "use it properly" i.e. court or whatever, but I’ve always had it in every car. celebrated one year with eastcoast approximately a few weeks ago, hence why I'm writing a review! ps the photos were taken straight after a classic sydney "bipolar weather" thunderstorm... so sydney viewers know wassup..

I had some mixed experiences dealing with this company. First impression was great, hire price was competitive, great communication regarding finding shuttle etc. My negative experience, however, was with the Asian shuttle driver. I’m a mum travelling with 2 kids. We had 3 bags in total. The driver picked one of our bag which was around 20kg and made disgruntling noise and basically asked me to put the other 2 bags in the shuttle - I was startled at his request . Which was soo rude and disrespectful. I went ahead to pick the bag into the shuttle but I’m petite and struggled when he saw my struggle he said let’s do it together. That left me with a very bad impression. Then as soon as we arrived to the office, he opened the shuttle door and left - yes he left me to take the bags down with ZERO help i was disgusted by his behaviour. However the lady at the office was sooo helpful so that made up for it. However I suggest they sack that driver because he’s giving their business a very bad name

East Coast Car Rentals was great. The online hiring process was easy and mostly clear. Some aspects of what insurances etc there were and what they covered and why weren’t 100% but still good. Our airline cancelled our flight, so they refused the cost immediately without question and helped explain the pick up process. Everything for pick up was smooth and easy. There was a minor issue with the Bluetooth settings and they fixed it quickly and easily. The car was great. It was clearly quite new and well looked after. It had a few performance issues, but nothing to do with East Coast. The only thing that annoyed me was that the car holder didn’t stick to the windscreen. I wouldn’t bother hiring one. The return process was also great. Very easy and smooth and the shuttle bus came very quickly and delivered us to the right terminal easily. All the staff were very friendly and helpful along the way.

WOWOWOWOW!!! that is the only way I can express my feelings for this business. upon arrival I was set the direction with step by step and photo directions to the coach pick up point, where I waited only minutes for my driver, Conrad. He was so very helpful polite and guided us on how to return the car when finished. every counter had staff ready to assist and I was in and out within minutes. I had no issues while using the car for the week I was in Sydney, and the return was even easier than the pick up, and I was super lucky to get a ride back with Conrad. He is an absolute legend! I regularly visit Sydney for work and will never bother with any other car rental, these are the go to team, I have used them 3 times now, and Conrad has driven me every time and remembers me every single time. Even my preferred name. This is the best and the only rental car company I use for all my travels.

The staff lacked professionalism and did not know how to address customer queries, there was lack of transparency. The car was a small Hyundai i30 - which was poorly maintained, the car play did not work, the cup holders were filthy, as though they had not been cleaned for months on end, with old drink stains inside the cup holders, the suspension of the car was almost non existent, it was the most uncomfortable drive on rough roads on highways due to this. Never ever booking a car with east coast car rentals again. Save your money, and book with Hertz/ Europcar etc. at least you know the customer service is great and you are getting what you paid for. East Coast car rentals in Sydney is a border line scam, with all their hidden fees and lack of transparency on insurance prices, which they do not clearly communicate from the get go. Definitely will be raising this with ACCC.

Great. No issues. Car was super clean which is something I've been noticing is not happening with a lot of car rental companies and after meticulously comparing prices and vehicles, I am confident these guys are well-priced. Check-in was easy. It's worth noting that they ask you to be at the car rental company 30-45 mins prior to when you want to be back at the terminal, which does add a sizeable chunk of time to the travel plan, especially when you're just flying domestic and have an early morning flight. We ended up arriving very late back to the car rental place but the bus driver was amazing - he got us there in time and I was so thankful as we literally went straight through security and boarded the plane. I go to Sydney a lot and am likely to just go ahead and book directly with them next time as I have had consistently good experiences with them.

East Coasts Sydney pick-up/drop off at King St was easy to locate and especially handy as I was staying at a hotel across the road.. The shuttle drivers were friendly and helpful, especially when I left my jacket in the car on my return and they dropped it off to me at the airport. The only downside was the car. I've hired this same type of car on at least 3 other trips. The one I picked up from East Coast would have to have been the most basic model available. The other downside which I wasn't aware of was the $1000.00 bond, I'm sure it's in the fine print but I have never been charged a bond before when I've hired a car. The car hire excess (Damage Responsibility)was also the highest I've encountered at $5,500.00 so be aware of what you are signing up for. Overall the experience was generally good.

The best car rental company I've dealt with! Friendly staff and affordable pricing. On a recent trip, my flight was delayed, and I was going to arrive 30 minutes after their closing time. I called ahead, and they kindly agreed to stay back so I could pick up the rental car. However, upon landing, I faced an issue with my phone and couldn't call the shuttle bus. Consequently, I had to convince a cab driver to give me a lift to the rental place. In the mad rush to pick up the car, I didn't realise until it was too late that the cab driver charged me $75 for the 5-minute trip. I informed East Coast Car Rentals about this incident, and to my surprise, they promptly reimbursed me for the cab fare! Their customer service is incredible.

Located a short drive away from the airport, East Coast Car Rental provides a link in order to request for the shuttle. This is great as most people will not have a landline to call. Collecting and returning of car was easy and swift, and everything was explained very clearly. The car I got was around 27,000KM mileage which is quite a new car. Only "issue'" i have was that the tolls are being charged multiple times through my credit card. I would prefer they charged it in a lump sum instead. They do know my rental dates, and I believe the NSW toll system should be quite up to date. I've more than 8 transactions just on tolls only. Otherwise, highly recommend as this is more affordable as compared to the big rental companies.

The car was spotless both inside and out. Highly recommend their services to anyone in need of a reliable and enjoyable car rental experience. I had a very unsatisfactory experience with your customer service representative (Tugun, Gold Coast). She appeared unprepared, didn't have accurate information about my existing insurance, and ended up forcing me to buy additional coverage that I didn't need. This not only resulted in a significant overcharge of $360, but her demeanor also came across as rude and made me feel insecure and scared. I expect better service and transparency when dealing with customer representatives, and I hope this issue can be addressed promptly. It seems like they are using scare tactics to push us into buying insurance they are not need it when booking with 3rd parties. The car was clean and well maintained.

I just wanted to leave my big THANK YOU and appreciation for the incredible team at the East Coast Sydney Airport. I hired a car with them for a few days away with my family and, as soon as I arrived in Sydney my son got an accident and he lost his tooth. Kirstie and her team did everything that was possible to help me out there. Besides all the attention from every staff member, one of the managers took us to the hospital, the shuttle driver very kind did a quick stop so I could get something to eat… Honestly, it was a tough day and they helped me a lot. They show that besides workers and numbers, we are all human. Thank you so much again guys !!!!

I hunted out car rental companies online out of Sydney Airport and got really confused. If this sounds like you just make it simple and use this company. They picked me up from the airport, had a reasonably quick process to complete sign up in their offices, and the car I got was a free upgrade from what I ordered, bonus! Their customer service is brilliant with all my enquiries responded to around 24 hours later. If I had feedback I'd probably say that they are clearer in letting people know about tolls - yes, you can use tolls, just drive where you like, and they charge you for them later, easy peasy. Would have no hesitation in renting from them again.

Second time we rented with them! We rented a car for 3 days and got full coverage insurance thank goodness ( I hate driving in Sydney). We booked online. We got a shuttle service to the location, the service was great, nice people, super easy to get the car. Took less than 10 mins. We got a Kia with am extra full tank and with the amount we drove, we only used like 1 bar of petrol. And when we were done we handed back the keys and got shuttled back to the airport right at our terminal. Had to call and inform them of an accident (with no damage to the vehicle) and they were calm and informative with that too.

We booked our car hire through Flight Centre, as it was easier to do flights, accommodation and car hire in one sitting. When we arrived at the airport, we needed to catch a shuttle to EastCoast, at first I thought that's painful, but the bus arrived quickly, the driver was lovely and on returning our vehicle, getting the shuttle saved us waiting in a huge line back into the airport. The driver was super cool and we really valued the freindly service. Great car, easy to get petrol nearby for the return and would definitely use East Coast again, as prior to this, I was not aware of this company.

Really enjoyed renting a car here! Beforehand, called the customer service 2 times and they were quick to pick up and helpful. Picking up the car was easy. They had a promotion for some electrical cars, so we decided to take The Polestar 2! Best decision, car was new and drove beautifully. No costs for fuel, the car shows the places to charge. Dropping off the car was easy as well. They checked the car quickly (we had full insurance), and directly brought us to the airport with a shuttle bus! Couldn't wish for a better car rental service! When I come back, definitely rent from them again!

Very seamless experience from booking, collecting and returning the car. Clarified with them on how toll roads will be charged, and they explained that just drive normally and they will follow up with an invoice and the amount will be charged to the credit card used for the booking. There is also a free shuttle service to/from the airport after dropping off the car, which we took advantage of. The rental rates are also competitive with other big-name chains and the car I got was new and clean. Had a pleasant experience overall and will rent again in the future.

Glad I was recommended this car rental! Great value for money and I was able to rent an SUV (HRV) with 0 excess damage included, so it was a worry free drive. The car I got was also pretty new, the pick up was quick, I also just used the online shuttle pick up request upon arrival, and they had a tracking that you can see while you wait. Drop off was also quick, and the shuttle back to the airport takes you directly to departure check in area. I would definitely rent at East Coast Car Rentals again and hope to get the same quality service next time!

East Coast car rentals is an awesome car rental company. I used them in various cities in Australia. A few things to share : 1. Their customer service staff is just awesome. They know what they are doing. They are very cordial and friendly. They provide some excellent tips regarding car usage, insurance etc. 2. The waiting time at their centres is minimal and the rental and return process is really smooth. 3. The car quality is excellent and the prices are really competitive. I even got an upgrade to drive a Polestar (EV) just for an extra 10 AUD.

I had trouble finding the bay for the shuttle pick up at the airport and one of the phone numbers provided didn’t work. It’s a fair drive to the off-airport site so allow time for this transfer. There was a wait to pick up the vehicle with a queue to get keys. The guy on the counter tried some confusing and mildly aggressive upselling on the insurance which I found very negative. In hindsight it would have been cheaper to book directly rather than go through an agent. The car was fine & no problems returning it.

I am very satisfied with the service being offered by ECCR. At first, I was sceptical due to reading some negative comments. But it turns out differently. I rented a Hyundai Venue, and the car is clean. Picking up and dropping off the car is very easy. There is also a shuttle bus that picks you up and drops you off from/to the airport. East coast car rentals are amazing! Everything is so so simple! Do not make the mistake of going through third party websites, you'll end up paying a lot more. We went through their own website, extremely straight forward, super friendly staff both over the phone and in person. After hours drop off service is an extremely great, stressfree service, we will ALWAYS go with East coast car rentals when needing to hire a car. I'm hoping they actually have a West coast service so we can always use them.

East Coast Rentals were very quick on vehicle pickup and dropoff. I needed to extend the rental and they went the extra mile to ensure the changes were compatible with my dropoff. Also, they were happy for me to use the shuttle service to the airport for free the day after drop-off. The staff were very friendly and professional and the information they provided was perfect to make the return a breeze. The location of the rental is near the Ibis which suited is very well. Great experience. Staff were super friendly and helpful over the phone and at location. Everything explained very clearly and laid out great service and a great price. I wanted to hire a Cupra Born for a few weeks to see what it was like to own an electric car (without home charging) before I decided to buy one. Thought the car was older and had many more miles on it due to level of cleanliness. Would have been 5/5 if the car had been cleaner. Will be back to rent again for sure.

I made a booking, arrived on time and was informed that I couldn't pay using apple pay or Google pay (required a physical card). I didn't have one on me (never do) and they happily took my digital drivers licence. Ended up having to get a friend to travel half and hour to come and bring a bank card. If you require a physical card, make sure you tell your customers so they can be prepared and not waste time. Better yet, catch up with your competitors and accept tap payments.

This company runs a straight up, honest & slick operation. Just like all the big guys in the business but less rigmarole. Their report on my hire car was honest and included a previous users damage. The wait time at the counter was a bit long but honestly, that's to be expected. Their range of cars seems really good too. They offered me a free upgrade to a luxury electric vehicle but the range I was driving didn't really fit well with that. Couldn't ask for much better.

Shuttle bus from international terminal was very smooth. You can book it online even after you arrived. Shuttle bus came within 10min around 8am. A process to rent a car was so smooth and a car was in very good condition. A car check process when I returned was not in a good system but shuttle bus to the airport was very smooth. A driver was very friendly. Definitely I'll use East coast again if I have a chance to go down to Australia!

Best experience I've had with a car rental company. East Coast car rentals made the transfer easy with John picking us up to take us to the car. He was friendly and started off the process. Unfortunately I didn't get the ladies name who helped us sign in and get the car but her service was amazing. We got a brand new ev6 and she ran us through many things always with a smile. I cannot speak more highly of the Sydney team.

I was nervous using a new rental company off airport but the service was fantastic as soon as I reached the pickup point having used the link it was there. The location of the car was well lit in the carpark and staff escorted me to the clean car. My flight back was changed and had to drop off outside of hours and provisions were available. Excellent service and friendly staff. Vehicle was clean and tidy and nil problems during our hire. We had an issue with our booking after our flights were cancelled and a staff member very quickly resolved this. Easy to contact by phone, and the pickup/drop off is EASY. The shuttle to the airport came quickly and we used the after-hours service from the company one level down on drop off. Smooth as. Will be back.

First time with east coast car rentals and the experience was amazing. Affordable rates than other car rentals company and the service was amazing. Harry was so nice and he is very positive towards helping customers. When i asked that if they had any cables for apple carplay he went to his car and gave me his personal usb cable. I would always choose east coast car rentals from next time for any car hire purpose.

The staff are attentive and very quick to organise pick-ups and drop-offs. My only comment is that, there is always a queue to get served. For instance, I had booked a pick-up for 6:30 PM, I could only leave the place at 7:20 PM. The actual process is very quick, but the waiting time can be long. Given they have 4-5 serving desks, adding more staff could certainly reduce this waiting time significantly.

The entire experience was very pleasant and easy - from the moment I landed to finding shuttle bus for car pick up to drop off. The customer service was great too! I also love having multiple excess payment options in person. I would definitely rent from East Coast Car Rentals again if I were to visit Sydney next time! Great communication and pick up from airport to car rental. We hired the Honda H-RV. Price and car were great, also the condition of the car was fantastic and clean. Ease of return and being dropped off at airport. Only thing was we added the phone holder to the booking, which didn’t work well at all and never used for the holiday. Need a better was to mount the phone for hands free use.

Sydney Airport East Coast Rentals were great. It was so quick and easy. We enquired about the electric car and they offered it to us (for a little bit more) but we’re so glad we took it. Could not fault the service from East Coast Rentals. I booked and ordered an extra infant seat to my car. I phoned a few days before to confirm and the team added all of the details and went above and beyond to make sure I’d have no trouble when collecting my car with a 4 month old. Good car rental experience. I arrived earlier than planned and the company is very accommodative allowing me to drive off earlier. The check in and check out process was smooth. I accidentally left my license at the car and the staff was very courteous and prompt to call me and organise post back to me immediately. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended.

Super easy from booking through to vehicle return. Pickup from airport was quick and the car was handed over within 5 minutes of us getting to the car park where they have their office. Pleased with my experience with East Coast. It did take a little bit of figuring out to find where we had to go to pick up the car (Sydney Airport - hadn't been there before) but the instructions they provided were pretty good. The car provided was clean and well suited to our needs. Price was very good. Drop off near Sydney Airport went very smoothly.

Had to be in the queue for over an hour and a half to get the car. So many people waiting only 2 people serving the customers and the same people inspected the car when it arrived to be handed over. Worst service ever. Spend $50-$100...for other car services ....for your peace of mind. Don't comprise. Would have given 0 star ...but there was no option!

Very friendly staff. Real People answer the phones when you really need help. The car was really great, perfect for us. No hassles on return. The friendly shuttle driver even took me out of the airport to the hotel that we were staying at! Eastcoast is close to the airport and there are regular shuttle buses so there is little wasted time. The cars are new and great quality at better price then other companies as well with $0 excess option.

Rental cars are well maintained. Although the location is not exactly at the airport carpark, there is a free complimentary transport to bring you there. Best pet, after dropping off the car, they will ferry you to your terminal as well. Great services. However, it would be good if there are more hybrid models available.

The car company did what they said they did, it was a smooth transition both receiving and depositing the car. East Coast makes renting easy! Efficient and seamless car pick up and drop off. Friendly team. Only downside is the operating hours which isn’t 24 hours. My last trip I had to wait a couple of hours for them to open at 7am. Aside from that probably the best rental experience I’ve ever had.

Overall is Good but really a lot of people to rent car here. I wait half hour to get the car. But when I return the car, since I need to catch the flight, the staff immediately drive me to the airport without wait for the shuttle. It is a good service and must give them a credit on this.

The car itself was pretty poor. Service light was on and LDVs just aren’t very nice cars. But it was cheap and Mary was really cheerful, energetic and helpful. Shuttle was good both ways. I never bother with the extra insurance and today was another example of that gamble paying off.

So, I booked the wrong day for pick up, then forgot to ask to keep the car a day longer. They acted like it was the most normal thing and no trouble at all. I mean I pretty much stole a car right!>! LOL They were the MOST HELPFUL and so easy to deal with! I would highly recommend.
