If I could give no stars I really would, this hospital is absolutely horrible, I went to the sexual health clinic which is located In the hospital on the lower ground I was in excruciating pain and my GP had referred me to see them due to pelvic pain, this is something which is very important to check and should be a priority. I went to the clinic, on this day it was a walk in day, I then told them about my pain and the receptionists told me “I’ll ask the nurse if they will see you they may not be able to as we have reached to the fullest of our capacity.” I was in immense amount of pain, I waited for a good 30 minutes before the nurse called me she didn’t even let me in to the room and she basically asked me to talk about my problem out in the open In front of other patients, she stood in front of the door guarding the door so I can’t go in. Before I even walked in she said “we aren’t going in to the room I need you to tell me your problem out here” I felt so embaressed and I looked around and told her what was wrong, she said to me have you taken any painkillers and I said no because I don’t usually take pain killers for anything (also I wanted to tell them how painful it is without the painkiller masking my pain) when I said no she then had the audacity to said to me “well it doesn’t look like your in much pain so I’m going to ask you to leave” She breached confidentiality, she was completely and utterly condescending, apparently she’s a mind reader because she told me how I was feeling. She is a embarrassment to the NHS trust and I wish to never see her again. I don’t know what her name was but she was a shortish lady with blonde hair and a bob cut hair.
Absolutely disappointed. It was 19.02.2019 / Evening My five year old son has a fever for five days. For three days he had a temperature of almost 40. For three days we took Nurofen and then we went to see a doctor. On the fifth day, he got a really strong cough and the temperature began to rise again. The GP was already closed so we decided to go to Edgware Hospital. When we were called to the doctor, we asked what to do and she said that she cannot treat us today and we only asked for her to look at his breathing- she said: “If I do that, it will need to be treated. Come back tomorrow or if it is even worse, go to Barnet Hospital at night.” We just wanted her to check his breathing because we were afraid that he has pneumonia. He cannot tell us what is hurting himself because he is autistic so we would want the doctor to check and she knew that. It is very strange that she said that they were closing in an hour because on all sites it is written that Edgware Hospital operates 24 hours a day. What shocked us most is when she said: “If I look at his breathing, he will need to be treated.” Then the doctor understood that the child might be very sick! From this answer it was clear that no one was going to treat us. The doctor only kept repeating that we were closing in an hour. And we had nothing to do as soon as we left. Absolutely terrible attitude. This is the attitude of the staff towards the patients. Absolute cynicism. This is not following the Hippocratic Oath- this is absolute hypocrisy. Absolutely disappointed.
The most disgusting hospital and their staff I have ever seen especially Integrated Community MSK Service in that hospital. Their staff and their physiotherapist lost my MRI results and then they discharged me from there and also in their discharge letter they didn't accept their fault and responsibility about the lost of MRI results and then the physiotherapist found another MRI which was about different hospital and different MSK and relied upon that results and wrote the discharge letter even it wasn't belong to them and was for four years ago ,eventhough I asked them to refer me again to another MRI but they refused to do it and the staff in that department are really rude and they treated me really rude and they didn't accept their fault and at the end they didn't do anything for me .They made alot of stress for me instead of treat my pain which I am suffering .This hospital and even different clinic for the eyes were same ,Disgusting hospital and Disgusting staff.stay away from that hospital.
The five stars are for the medical attention received But my issue is how on earth are you ment to navigate yourself around the hospital when starting from the main entrance. There is no clinic location map on display. We followed sign directions at main entrance for day clinic, found lift to lower ground floor, found sign to day clinic but door was locked and the corridors were deserted. Apparently you need to weave in and around the various alley ways and car parking areas (permit holders only)around the back of the hospital and low and behold there are a whole bunch of various clinics you wouldn't even know existed if you were standing at the main entrance and of course there's no reception person to ask.
Had a blood test. Told them I was very prone to fainting and I need to lie down. Got into the room for blood draw, and warned the phlebotomist of my needle/blood test phobia and I would need somewhere to go that I can lie down flat. She said there was nowhere to go and she can only slightly recline the blue chair and she was so nasty and rushing me I nearly burst into tears. Nurse couldn’t take the blood from my arm so then tried my hand and as I was sitting up slightly I slowly started feeling faint and had to move to the floor and passed out because she would not assist in anyway possible. There should be a private area for patients with phobias to lie down to prevent this from happening.
Ironic that smokers crowd around the non smoking billboard but that's what its like here. There was double standards here and the staff and patients were quite abusive towards each other. I assume it is like being in bording school here with less ability to get out. Clean ward and nice decor but I assume this is what it's like being put into isolation in prison. The staff missed the point of my being there and did nothing to treat or report an assault on me by an emergency staff member. They had resources to help me in the long and short term but didn't inform me of or offer me the help. I am not the same person and I see they won't take responsibility for failing me in the way they did.
I had day surgery yesterday and I can honestly say I have never come across a more caring team of staff in a hospital in my life, and I'm 59. It started right from the man who was pushing a trolley asking if I was OK when I was waiting in the wrong part. If he hadn't asked me I wouldn't have known. It was quiet and very clean. I told them that I had a bad experience elsewhere with the needle going in the wrong part of my hand and three staff made it a comfortable experience. Every single nurse and doctor was very caring. They can't put water everywhere as some people can't drink before an op, but they will happily give it to you if you ask and you are allowed.I also saw a cafe.
I got punched in the face from and mental health nurse subsequently the next week, my front tooth snapped off , On Thames ward.im absolutely disgusted with the actions of Frankie Ndidignwe, also ward manager Reggie Stephens actions on the Monday, screaming in my face saying I was lucky he was not on duty. The police were called but did not a pursue as I had hold of Frankie at arms length and made his top baggy. I only went to ask for one of my roll ups. He dragged me into the staffing coat area where there was no cctv. That's Edgware mhu. I would not even give a 1 star rating, but had to to leave a review
Whilst attending the eye clinic on Monday my husband had a diabetic hypo. He passed out on the floor, his glucose level was 1. Staff nurse Kim Sullivan was amazing. Together with the consultant they drip fed my husband glucogel to raise his glucose level and constantly monitored his blood pressure. They were totally kind and professional. I can not praise them highly enough. The reception called 999 for an ambulance they were told between 4-5 hours! Thank heavens for Kim Sullivan. We thank you for being an a amazing nurse and a lovely woman.
Epic absurdity! Just been told their A&E is closed since over a year ago cause of covid . They should have made local community aware of this as is not a small matter valuable time is lost and can mean life or death. Now everything has opened including clubs, festivals, sporting events into tens of thousands but this hospital has not yet reopened its A&E that should not have been closed in first place. Now ee have to travel to nearest one over an hour away. I feel let down when I most need it!
Went for a blood test told the bloke I am not a fan of needles and he handled the situation well. Didn't even realise it had gone in and kept checking on me if I was ok. The queue system is fantastic, I went in there and probably waited max 10 minutes so overall very happy with the service. The only real negative, there is no staff presence especially reception which I find most bizarre. I have to go around in circles and follow signs unless you're lucky enough to bump into a member of staff.
I had my cataract op today & the attention from the ward staff were absolutely amazing . They really made me & other patients within my ward feel so comfortable & so relaxed before the operation & even after operation the staff explained about after care was so detailed & helpful . My operation was done by Mr Daren Hanumunthadu who has also done a superb 15 mins job .. no pain during & no pain after operation . A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU for all the great job done for me today !!!
So I’m putting 1 star since I can’t put 0 stars. I went to have a blood test done and they do the blood test but emotionally I was affected so if you go there for a blood test prepare for this, as nurses don’t know how to treat and care for patients. NHS needs to provide training to nurses coming from abroad. I have a fear of needles and when I exhaled to prepare for the needle to be injected the nurse asked ‘Why am I breathing like that?’. No care or professionalism whatsoever!
Me and my Mum had to wait nearly 25 minutes to have a blood test done yesterday.... We had to wait 35 minutes to have the xray to be done... This hospital needs to sort out their staffing where they go etc... It's not good hospital it's such better in the Royal Free Hospital highly recommended for this hospital because the much more friendly and helpful. Edgware Community Hospital have to sort out the staffing it's so poor that the waiting time is totally ridiculous!
Extremely hard to get incontact with the ENT dept. The automated telephone line doesn't give this dept another option to call. I have been trying for a week.I need to change a booked appointment. As I worry if I don't show there will be a charge. Also since covid restrictions have changed. There is only a broken bottle of sanitiser at the desk. No one at reception and most people no longer wear a mask. This dosn't make you feel safe being clinically vulnerable.
It looks like the hospital has been closed for quite some time, despite still appearing operating here in the app, the other thing it's that the couple employees that are there, couldn't even indicate a alternative functional hospital to go. So basically you have to figure it out alone which ones are really open, while you walk from one to another preying not to get worst. NHS its really a box full of bad taste medicines for and in the minorities areas
Edgware hospital is the worst hospital for eye surgery and therefore do not recommend anyone to have trabeculectomy surgery . I have never been the same person after this surgery which has ruined my life for almost 3years with depression. They don't even deserve a star, because they will make you disabled with one eye or both. This happened to me at Edgware hospital 2017, but if you ignore and similar thing happen then you will remember what I said.
All the staff was friendly apart from the receptionists at the walk in centre. Both their attitudes were disgusting quite frankly. Worst receptionists I have come across at an NHS hospital. It was like a sitcom when I arrived. One of the receptionist was looking at the others receptionist's clothes labels. When I said "sorry, I've got a person with a broken arm" she replied "can't you see I'm busy with something..." Shocking....
I'm disabled painfull to walk. My appointment was 8.30 am. No one in sight to help me. When I finally got to where I had to be there was a rude receptionist on the desk. Then I didn't see the person who I had had telephone conversations with. It was a different person who new nothing about me. I was in pain and that was all a waste of time. I live in barnet and travelling to edgware hospital was my worst nightmare.
Absolutely disgusting, rude man at the main entrance. Then to follow the Triage nurse had zero tact or manners. Completely unapproachable and let 2 other people's partners wait with them and not mine, saying there was no space with over 16 seats being available. He needed his ankle looked at and she deliberately discharged him within 5 minutes of him being assessed to be seen. Will be raising a formal complaint
Fantastic service. If your not sure about going, phone and talk to a nurse who will advise you, or call 111 and they'll give advice too. The centre itself has limited parking but is quite reasonable as hospital parking goes. Service was good, from Reception to Triage was a short wait, as was Triage to Treatment. Friendly Nurses and Good Care.
Very disappointed with the Service, the nurse who saw me named Narangela was very disrespectful and discriminative, she made me feel most unwelcome and did not even care for my concerns. I can't believe that she is even trusted by NHS to treat patients!!! She made my wounds worse as if she had no qualifications whatsoever!
I been there today for blood test . I booked online and I didn’t get any email i have to print the letter otherwise we can’t do. When I talked to staff they talked very rudely and they said we can’t do nothing we closing .i am very disappointed with this hospital i never come back in this hospital
Like every other hospitals, but when I visited on Saturday it was quite. They dont have x-ray everyDay, so they send you to Finchley Hospital. Very knowledgeable doctor, even he was apprentice. Overall there was a good experience, but is better to don't break any of your bones. Stay strong!
I went there for a blood test the receptionist was quite rude and the lady who gave the blood test was very unfriendly bordering on rude and when she took the injection out of my arm pulled it out out in a flicked sort of way which really hurt and left and nasty massive bruise
Had an appointment through clch which I was late to (my own fault) and was told they wouldn't see me and they were fully booked. Checked clch online and saw they had a free appointment. Disappointed that I was lied to. Rest of the service was great, just the receptionist.
Waiting time is atrocious, had to wait over 3 hours to see a doctor even though it says it's a walk in service they take bookings and disregards the people who have been waiting a long time. Staff is rude when questioned about the waiting time and very unhelpful.
Communication between themselves and the patients has gone downhill, and a male member of staff at the blood test clinic treated me as if he couldn’t care less about my condition. Also no proper complaints procedure. I will avoid for any future appointments.
Thank you Raymond in Day Surgery unit. He us an absolute diamond and a huge asset to this hospital. .Lena and the girls put me at ease looked after me whilst having my procedure. (The pink ladies!!! ) Thank you so much. Absolutely wonderful. Irene …
The NHS is extremely stretched and nurses are over worked. I can understand some of the negative reviews written below but I can also see it from the nurses point of view. I had a ok experience here and it looked clean to be fair.
Mum vegetarian but given meat 3 times. Doctors change drugs without consulting patients, then difficult to see doctor to get them changed. Generally staff were ok, some fantastic, but some uncaring. Facilities good & clean tho.
An arterial biopsy was carried out on me in a day-visit of two hours. The staff could not have been more helpful and good-humoured and the procedure was performed efficiently and with care. A very good experience. Thanks!
Fantastic service, they were really helpful and polite, I had second degree burn on my arm, they assessed it and I was on my way less than 1 hour. Many thanks to the staff and doctors.
Trent Ward Mental Health Ward Hard working staff who deliver excellent patient care to patients. Amazing ward manager in Jonathan Apeawini. Really enjoyed my experience on the Ward.
Had to laugh. Come to a community hospital wait 2 hours and then told they are closing in 2 hours and they will see you and advice you to go to alternative service or get seen here.
I keep being told different rules for visiting the same ward it changes from moment to moment, NRC should decide on the visitor rule and all staff should know it and stick to it!!!!
I came there with a wound of my finger that's still bleeding! The nurse was polite but she seems like wanted to get rid of me giving g me a printed paper work for another hospital.
Staff of each Department are very kind and friendly, helpful and cooperative Congratulations to all God bless them all to always be blessed live very happy with family and friends
I've only experienced problems with the Walk- in Centre, but the community hospital has great service. Nurses are very helpful with talking about procedures and are always gentle.
Very pleasant experience with the Blood test department thanks to the receptionist Donna who was very helpful and efficient (24.02 afternoon shift). Brilliant service. Thank you.
I have needed to come to this hospital three times and every time the staff have been excellent, and the organisation and overall quality and efficiency of 'service' as well.
worst service ever. beeing there for one and a half hour, with a severe pain, i was crying on the corridor, all the doctors passing and no one asked if im ok or something.
The black lady at reception at B for blood tests treats patients very bad and she speaks very loud I don't know her name but she should be sacked with immediate affect
Went for brest screening the lady who saw me was making sure that the X ray was done propley she was quite good the receptionist wasn't all that friendly a bit abrupt
The service was way quicker than any other walk in. When I broke my hand the nurses wher very gentle and reassuring. The whole process was about 45 minutes long
A good experience overall. Not long to wait. Nurses kind and helpful. Less formal than other hospitals I visited. 2 busses to get there but worth the trouble.
Everybody I met was incredibly lovely and ever so caring, even down to the phone calls to arrange a pre-op and post-op after care. Thank you all so much.
Booked a PCR test Turned up No one was there Ask information to the only member of staff around to get just rude answers. No wander NHS is so troubled
Staff are helpful and the hospital has great transport links. The website however needs to be more clear regarding the hospitals opening hours.
Shut at half past midnight. No A&E for half dead pavement guy. Wth??! seconds matter why did Google tell us to come here?
I had been offered support with lots of respect. However. I would like to thank them this way for their existence. Bless.
They don't mention online that it's close to walk-in, the closest hospital it's in North Finchley that it's frustrating
Not friendly staff. Have not explain things properly. I was adviced to look up online ... thats not why I am paying NI.
Today at Podiatry Dept. I experienced the best treatment I had there for the last 10 years by Ms Simone Segall. Thanks
The community hospital should have drinking water facilities. Patients shouldn't have to go to reception to get water.
Its nice quiet place were you are able to see opricians, dietition and more. Very convenient for people I think.
Clean and efficient buildings canteen lower ground floor ( lift available ) many bus routes pass outside .
Not very happy with the service; the nurse was really slow and the whole process could have expedited..
Disgraceful. The nurses are lazy and rude. Lot of abuse there, They're not fully trained either.
The doctors are really good. I like it there. They are very good and take good care of you.
Well organized, but old fashion chairs for the waiting room, staffs are helpful and polite
Always very friendly staff, I'm very happy with my consultation. Kind regards from me .
