Had a very disrespectful experience which I can't believe from the El Camino Memorial Cemetery today. Just lost my mother and after services the park removed all the flowers and mementos from the grave. SO VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO THE FAMILY. SHAME ON El Camino Cemetery for employing such a unprofessional, disrespectful person. Chris the General Manager was so rude, disrespectful and un to my mother who passed and our entire family. This person should not be working at El Camino Cemetery. We are saddened to have to report this, but other families shouldn't have to be abused like this. We will be reporting this experience to the State of California. Thanks for responding to this situation. The rules were not the issue. The issue was the attitude, demeanor and "I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE" displayed by your subordinate to the family. The communication and they way it was given, including the body language was unacceptable. The words used in conversation were poorly used in a demeaning fashion. We were also told if unacceptable items, including flowers were left on the grave, that "THEY WILL BE THROWN IN THE GARBARGE". This type of unprofessional communication and very poor concern for the family after the passing of our loved one is just not acceptable. Another employee "Mark" give the family permission to place the flowers and items on our Mother's grave. We understood that only in March and October each year that those things had to be removed. When I spoke with Anna after the items and flowers were removed, she told us that Mark was just filling in at the front office when we came in to "Ask Permission" and that he was not informed as to policy. Well, we are the client and can't guess if employees know or don't know the proper policy as communicated to us. Also, since our family member was just recently buried in the cemetery, I would think that someone in management would use common sense to reach out to the sales person who was helping the family to make a simple call and communicate a policy issue to the family so that it could be resolved directly with the family. Instead, all items including our Mother's flowers were totally removed from the grave. Of course, this was a shock when family went to the grave still grieving our loss. This along with no compassion by your subordinate and just down right rude exchange made this one of the worse experiences ever. We have family at other cemeteries in San Diego and have never encountered such a poor, unacceptable communication and violation of our family religious freedoms with such dis-respect. Thank you for sending your email of which I will write to further this issue. We are still recovering from this violation of trust and religious expression along with the dis-respect towards our Mother at this cemetery.
Where do my family and I begin? A week ago we buried the heart and soul of our family - Denise. What a treasure she was! Gloria was beyond words amazing!!! So kind, caring, patient and compassionate as she helped us to navigate through the process of helping to put my sister to rest in a way that would make Denise proud. Gloria and her team went above and beyond to create an experience of celebration for Denise, helping us to honor her while capturing the pure joy she brought to our lives and those around her. Denise had Down Syndrome. She found pure joy in the most simple things in life. Her favorite movie was Grease. Gloria and her team brought Grease to life complete with staff dressed as Pink ladies and the T-Birds to the vintage cars waiting to escort Denise to her final resting place (and I loved the hunk board - it had Denise's name all over it). They had a mannequin which held Denise's coveted Pink Ladies jacket and they helped us to provide Denise's most favorite of snacks - Beer in a bottle (rootbeer in a bottle) and microwave popcorn that our guests were able to take with them so they could toast and celebrate Denise later that night. To the team at El Camino in Sorrento Valley, especially Gloria..... thank you so much for everything you did for us and Denise. None of us will ever forget how you made us and our attending guests FEEL from start to finish during what was one of the most difficult times in our lives. Though there were plenty of sad tears, the special touches you created will forever leave us with meaningful moments of that day. Thank you for helping us to get through this time in a way that brought dignity and incredible meaning to Denise and our family. We are and will forever be grateful. Becky
I just wanted to take the time to send a sincere Thank you to you from me & my family. I can't express in words how thankful we are for all of your help & compassion. My family has been going through a tough time since my mother passed away. It's hard enough dealing with her dying as it is. There's already enough to deal with & you have to do these things with a heavy heart. It's very difficult to bury someone you love. All I can say is, making the right choice on which mortuary to use means everything. I can honestly say that choosing El Camino was the best choice we ever made. Everybody that we dealt with was caring, kind & so professional. I forgot the names of the men who came & picked up my mom, but I want to say Thank you so much for your kindness & understanding. It meant a lot to us. I also want to say a few words about the wonderful lady who helped us arrange the funeral. Her name is Kimberly Mosley. Kimberly, I don't know what we would have done without you. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. It would be real easy to say that you did your job. You did that & so much more. You were so kind to me & my family. Words cannot express how you helped us get through the hardest time in our lives. You went above & beyond. You helped us with things that we knew nothing about. You helped us every step of the way & we needed it. You were always there for us & I just wanted to acknowledge you & say what a wonderful job you did. My family will never forget it or forget you. Thank you for everything & I mean that. You are appreciated. If you are looking for a mortuary, I would highly recommend El Camino Memorial for sure!!!!
My father has been buried at El Camino Memorial Park since my family lost him unexpectedly in 1980. The grounds since then have been maintained beautifully, and just driving in to the park from the street, you notice nothing but peace and serenity and QUIET. What a beautiful place. My mother's health had started to decline over the last several years, and our family wanted to be sure she was taken care of when the time came. Mom wanted to be with my Dad and we were able to arrange pre need burial in the same plot. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helped in every step of pre need planning, and we were stress free, knowing that all aspects of her burial would be set. Recently, the time came to set the planning into action, as we lost Mom on September 14 of this year. Everything that had been arranged for ahead of time, came about smoothly. My family was able to make final decisions for her, and to be together with loved ones and friends with peace of mind and to focus on our memory of Mom. Thank you Andrea and Kaycee, for guiding us through every step with compassion and empathy. After 42 years, my parents are together again forever I would HIGHLY recommend El Camino Memorial Park for your Loved one's final resting place.
Many family and friends have their final resting place at this mortuary. I've even been here for visitations numerous times. When my Mom passed this is where we held her visitation. I learned planning for a loved one isn't easy. So much to do with so little time. We need someone we can trust, who is available for us, who we feel confident that will give our loved one dignity and an honorable goodbye. Most of the staff here is professional and empathetic. We were blessed to have Kimberly as our funeral coordinator. She was our Angel on earth. She made my Father feel at ease with the planning, assured and guided us in the right direction and it helped us cope and have peace of mind. Rachel, Simon, Maria, Mike were also kind and sweet to us. All the planning went smoothly and arrangements were made in a timely matter. They didn't try to pressure sale us on buying a plot even though we did already purchase one but chose a different location. We appreciate that they just loved and cared for us and kept things stress free. Thank you Kimberly and staff for all your kindness, compassion, respect and love. We truly appreciate it and will be forever grateful.
5 plus, plus, plus stars to funeral director, Kimberly Moseley and the staff at El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley. From the moment our patriarch passed with the first phone call to the final services these individuals go above and beyond to ensure that every little detail is taken care of. The individuals that came to our home to shroud him, drape the American flag and allowed us to grieve without rushing off. Then came our meeting at the facility which was hours because there much to discuss but Kimberly hung in there with us. We went back several times and made numerous calls - Kimberly was available for us each time. When all was said and done we were overjoyed and know we made the right decision to choose this facility for our loved one. On top of all that, we were blessed to be able to share in the "Service of Remembrance" on December 11, 2021. This was absolutely beautiful with lights, making decorations, time with Santa, light refreshments and our loved ones name called out at which time we lit a candle for him. You all are wonderful. Bless you. Thank you. My family knows to use your service and don't look elsewhere.
Praying on the loved ones of the deceased and milking them for every last penny. $30 Amazon plastic box they changed $150 and wouldn't give us the bag ashes without it. Doing a free 21 gun solute that cost them nothing cost $700 minimum just for them to put out chairs for them to just do that or for an additional $700 they throw in a "service" with nothing more included except more chairs in yard. A servant with flours and a preacher cost a few grand extra. Because all them letting you gather with multiple at a grave you already paid for can't just happen for free, no putting up chairs is so hard it's odvously worth $700-$1400. They won't let you have a 21 gun solute there unless you pay the exorbitant rate to put out chairs. Won't even let you have a 21 gun solute there without getting your loved one cremated there, Wich cost $3000 the average for other funeral homes here is $1500, so why no charge double just because they cam. Burring my dad's ashes with my mom when she goes $1800 to just stick his box in with hers. There moto id why do any work when you can charge for nothing or just mark it up 1000-2000%.
My grandmother and father passed 8 days from each other. Unfortunately my father's passing was unexpected. Kimberly made the whole experience wonderfully beautiful for our family. Kimberly was thorough and detailed oriented. When it came to my grandmother's arrangements there was not much we had to do since my grandmother had prearranged everything (what a wonderful final act of love). My father's passing was unexpected and our family was devastated. We are so thankful for Kimberly who guided us every step of the way with my father's arrangements. My father had the best send off, from the viewing to the flowers to the military honors. Everything was so beautiful and perfect to honor my father. Kimberly was compassionate, caring and the most attentive funeral director we have ever met. Kimberly is a great communicator and was always available to answer questions anytime. We are so grateful for the wonderful service Kimberly provided to our family at such a devastating time. We don't know what we would have done without her guidance and direction. El Camino: you have a gem in Kimberly.
My experience with the service at El Camino is a little different than most. My family or loved one was not buried here recently but after rendering honors to a colleague last April, I will be sure to have all my family and loved ones placed to rest here. The staff was very professional and considerate of Mr San Jose and his family. They accommodated all the requests the family had and attended to all their needs. Specifically, I would like to thank Kimberly Mosley for going above and beyond the call of duty. She made herself available to the Honor Guard team at all hours and coordinated with our commander extensively. She allowed our team ample time to setup and prepare for the ceremony. I have never met someone more dedicated to their craft than Ms. Mosley and it shows in the execution of the service. Every detail is accounted for, as well as the schedule and timing of the service. Again I would like to extend my gratitude to Kimberly Mosley and her team at El Camino Memorial for a service well done. I look forward to working with them in the future when the time comes.
My experience at El Camino Memorial has been nothing but pleasant. One can never really prepare to lose a loved one. At 25 years old, I was dealing with a never-ending list of things I had to do with the passing of my mother, Mary Ann. I had my mom transferred from San Diego Funeral Services due to poor customer relations. It was the best decision I could've made. All I had to do was tell Tisha and Kim what I wanted and they moved mountains for my brothers and I. I will forever be grateful for them. I don't know how many times I've told Kim that she is amazing. She always kept me updated and was responsive to my texts and calls even off-duty hours! As an Active Duty Servicemember, my time was very limited to take care of what I needed to do before returning Overseas and it couldn't have been done without them. I could go on and on about how happy I am with Kim and El Camino Memorial. My mom is in the Garden of Resurrection and I can't wait to see her again! Thank you, Kim and the staff of El Camino Memorial. This place will always hold a special place in my heart.
I chose El Camino Memorial in Sorrento Valley as much of my husbands family had chosen El Camino for their loved ones. My husbands death came at an unexpected time, while we were traveling. I found all the folks I dealt with there to be compassionate and sensitive to our situation. My initial meeting was with Heather who was kind, and caring as she led me through the process. She answered all my questions and concerns with compassion, not pressuring me when I needed more time for some decisions. Next I met with Nicholas Valentin, who assisted me in planning the services. Again, he too was very kind and patiently guided me through the process, listening to my thoughts and wishes, and answering my questions. At my request he arranged for clergy to conduct the service. Everyone at El Camino Memorial I spoke with were wonderful. The service was very so very nice. They handled my husband with great care. I was also very pleased with how he appeared, the way I remembered him. Lastly the grounds are lovely and very well kept. A peaceful surrounding.
I am writing this review instead of live-streaming my grandpa's funeral, because of technical issues on the part of El Camino Memorial. They had promised that the funeral would be live-streamed so I chose not to travel to San Diego during these unpredictable times. When I called to find out about the livestream issues, the person answering their phones told me they were aware of the problem and they had no workarounds in place besides recording the service for later viewing. You know when you're talking to someone on the phone and they say, "thank you bye" and hang up without resolving anything or providing an apology? She did that. I talked with her for less than three minutes. I wish they would have been able to show me some kindness and respect on the day of my grandpa’s funeral. Isn’t that exactly what we hire a funeral company for? I'm really glad to see there are many glowing reviews for this company, because I wouldn't want anyone else to experience what I did today. Maybe we just got them on an “off” weekend.
My brother passed away, unexpectedly, two weeks ago. Kenneth was extremely helpful in finding the perfect spot for my brother to lay eternally and was extremely honest and his calming demeanor was very appreciated to myself and my parents. Kimberley was incredibly supportive of my families unconventional ideas for my brothers ceremony. Her ability to take a couple conversations/stories about my brother, and create a ceremony perfect for him was incredible. The final result was the most beautiful ceremony, down to every tiny detail. My brother was an extremely colorful soul. Kimberley allowed us the opportunity to take home his casket and paint it a bright and beautiful turquoise. We also informed her that we were going to wear tie dye Grateful Dead shirts and she joined us in our colorful attire. She created the most beautiful floral bouquet that perfectly matched my brothers spirit. All in all, I don't think it could have turned out any more perfect, all thanks to Kimberley and Kenneth.
We just laid my father to rest a few days ago. We had visited two other Mortuary's prior to El Camino. As soon as we stepped unto the property and meet the staff we knew this was the place we wanted to use for my dads service. It was beautiful and the staff was so compassionate, professional, and patient. My mother is 80 years old and they treated her with the utmost respect and patience through the emotional process of planning the funeral of her husband of 61 years. El Camino Memorial and Kimberly were amazing every step of the way. There are so many details that need to be handled for a funeral but we never felt overwhelmed. Kimberly would contact us and let us know what the next step was and we would get it done. We could and did contact her at any time and she was always immediate to respond. The services were not only beautiful but the compassion and care of Kimberly added all the final touches. Our family will be forever grateful.
This is a beautiful cemetery with very helpful planners and staff. The location is beautifully maintained, always a pleasure to visit and remember loved ones. The only reason I am not giving a five-star rating is prices have increased dramatically at this location. I am not sure how their pricing compares to other cemetery sites in the region but I suspect it is a lot higher. We wanted to keep family members at the same location, so we decided to pay. For a cremation urn niche space be prepared to pay between $4,500 and $21,000, more for an urn burial site. You can save a little money through their advanced planning process. I believe they also have a less expensive option to scatter ashes in a memorial garden. I have no regrets about inurning my family member here, I add this review so people interested in this cemetery have a better idea what to expect price-wise before they arrive.
The amount we paid for the entire service was totally unjust and unfair. The entire IT system was a messed. Video montage to pair with music was not working, the priest was 1 1/2 hour late and did not have the courtesy to call, the agreement time of service was not honored and so some visitors started leaving the funeral, 2 funeral visitation going on next door to each other caused confusion, traffic was locked and unable to deliver the casket on site on time, duty staff was completely unprepared to handle problems and did not seem to know what to do. No onsite supervisor to be contacted at all. Not the way our family wanted and envisioned to lay our mother to rest. Despite giving her the military funeral with folding the flag. We contacted the El Camino for resolution and explanation from their side and still no response back at all going on 2 weeks now. Unprofessional.
I want to heartily and highly recommend El Camino Mortuary and, specifically, Kimberley for providing our family with such excellent, sensitive and conscientious care during our time of need. Every detail was taken care of with professionalism and the highest courtesy. Matters and issues that I could never have foreseen were presented and solutions offered in advance: specifically the matter of traveling on a plane with human cremains. The mortuary I am sure faced challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but every challenge was met with grace, and every step was conducted smoothly. Kimberley is tops. If I owned a company, I would woo her away, and hire her instantly. But she has a gift for being with people who are grieving...and seems to be right where she needs to be. Much affection and high praise for everyone at El Camino Mortuary!
The recent death of my father was so heartbreaking for me and my family. When we went to make the final arrangements for him, we were met with such a warm and welcoming comfort by Kimberly Mosley. Kimberly immediately seemed to connect with me and her words and kindness put me at ease in this process. She walked us through the decision making and no matter how many times we may have asked the same questions, she continued to answer them with a smile on her face. Never once did we feel rushed in our decision making and as much as we may have cried, Kimberly gave us the time and consoled us. The whole staff was welcoming but Kimberly really went above and beyond, making this an easier process than what was expected. My fathers funeral was beautiful, we really sent him off the way he wanted....and for this I say THANK YOU KIMBERLY.
Next month in May will mark my Dad’s 1 year death anniversary. During a difficult time for my family, Kim was a true blessing. She was professional and knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. Kim made a difficult time easy and enjoyable for us to plan the celebration of life for Dad. One of the highlights of working with Kim was the surprise she gave our family. Dad loved sweets and Kim was able to have an ice cream truck in Dad’s honor show up to his viewing! How awesome is that!!! My mom loves her too!! We were very lucky to have been assigned to Kim. To this day, we believe she is one of Dad’s greatest gifts to us from above. Thank you Kimberly Mosley for coordinating everything and not skipping a beat on the tiniest details. You have touched our hearts in many ways and we all appreciate you. You are amazing!!
KIMBERLY MOSLEY is PHENOMENAL !!! she went above and beyond for us . Anything and i mean anything i had a question about she took care of . we just lost our dad and we were going through the motions of everything but Kim made sure that we had nothing to worry about . Our family will forever be grateful for the professionalism , love and care she showed us throughout these past couple of weeks. Thank you again El camino for making our last days with our dad a memorable one but thank you mostly to Kim for going the extra mile for us. Not only did you show us that you cared you made us FEEL IT , and ensured us that our dad would be in great hands! Kim exceeded all expectations of a funeral director. Thank you again for all you’ve done! We can’t express enough our gratitude towards you!!
We are very pleased with the professional and caring service provided by El Camino Memorial. My dad's passing was so sudden that we were not at all prepared for it. Luckily Kenneth helped us choosing the best spots for my parents. He even came to work on New Year day to show us around. Kimberly Mosly is super helpful in arranging the service for my dad so quickly even though they were so busy . All my relatives and friends near and far said my dad's service was very nicely organized and they thought I was the one doing all that but in fact it's Kim, Maria, and their team have arranged everything. I was totally lost in sadness during that time. Thank you Kenneth, Kim, Maria and all others that helped our family out so much during our most difficult time.
Best facility and service in town. My mother passed away and we had nothing prepared or planned. El Camino (Matt, Nick and Mynguyen?) helped us put everything together and the ceremony was first class. Significantly, it is a memory that all of the grandchildren will remember, and they will remember mom passing with dignity. All that being said, talking prices and all of their options can be awkward under the circumstances. But, at the end of the day, they are providing a necessary service for a fee. And they can work within your budget. There are obviously less expensive options/cemeteries, but El Camino is by far the best one out there in terms of facility and service (and the prices reflect that reality). As with all things, you get what you pay for.
Kimberly has the perfect balance of professionalism and compassion. She was made for her role as a funeral director. She took care of every detail - made each event (memorial, funeral, burial and luncheon) so personal and seamless. We really just showed up and enjoyed the services/day. Losing a loved one is a difficult process to go through - Kimberly truly lifted the burden of the logistics of hosting a funeral and went above and beyond to ensure it was a wonderful experience. El Camino is a serene and peaceful and beautiful place to lay a loved one to rest as well as visit over time. Could not have hoped for a better experience through this time of loss and mourning.
Exceptionally kind, knowledgeable, patient, honest and empathetic. These are among the many laudable qualities of Rachel Bennett and Kimberly Mosely at El Camino in San Diego. I was an emotional and mental mess in preparing for my husband's impending passing from a glioblastoma, and these two experts made the cemetery and mortuary processes not only smooth and appropriate for my husband's wishes, but also comforting and therapeutic. They continue to be extremely responsive and helpful to this day. Thank you, Kimberly and Rachel, for your compassion and sterling representation of how to honor the departed and their loved ones. -- Homira
With the sudden loss of our Father, it was very hard to make decisions and arrangements. we brought him to El Camino and we were helped by Kimberly Mosely. From start to finish, she was extremely helpful, attentive and at the same time sensitive to our feelings. we had some time constraints but she made everything possible! I was able to contact her at any given time for any concerns. She has a demeanor about her that lets you feel like she’s not just doing her job but really cares about you and your family! I highly recommend El Camino and the services of Kimberly because she will definitely take good care of you and your loved one!
I found the staff and the facility to be highly above what I had expected for a cemetery. I give El Camino Memorial Park a rating of 6 out of 5. Then staff was extremely kind, sympathetic, and helpful at this time of sorrow in finding an excellent location for my wife’s final resting place. They also made certain that I could join her there when’ my time comes. The cemetery itself is a beautiful place. A wide range of landscape types are available. The staff worked with me to find the right location and the right price. I would recommend El Camino Memorial to anyone needing a final resting place for their loved one. Gary Davis
We have been customers for El Camino Memorial for decades. Our most recent experience with them has been extraordinary. Kimberly, she is the best!!! She has been here for us every step of the way. Anything that we have needed it, she has supported us with. During this difficult time with the pandemia, we have encountered many challenges for which Kimberly and the crew managed to accommodate, specially the burial and honors of our loved one. We are truly grateful for such a compassionate, sincere, and genuine professionalism from the staff from El Camino and their services to our family. Always greatful ❤
The entire staff was so comforting and supportive to entire family during this difficult time of laying our very special daughter to rest. They went out of their way to personalize her service. She loved the 50s music and the era. Pink ladies, old cars and movies were her favorite. All of that was prominent at the service so all those attending came to know her on a very personal level. Thank you especially to Gloria, Maria, Nick, Daniel and their special friends who brought their vintage cars to help set the mood. Your care and devotion to detail made a very difficult time a lot easier.
My husband had the foresight to purchase years ago a plan with El Camino Memorial for future cremation for both of us. It truly was a blessing in disguise to have all arrangements outlined in advance at the time of my husband's passing. Whatever was necessary for his funeral was provided with quality. The staff was always courteous and obliging. They continually sought approval for whatever wad done. There is no rehearsal for a funeral, but my family and I are absolutely grateful, and appreciate the assistance and progression throughout this experience. Sincerely, Mrs. Robert L. Simmons
Words can not express how grateful we are for Kimberly Mosley and the staff. Kimberly was so thorough and went out of her way for our family. She has grown into our family. My aunts complimented her so much. Our whole entire family did. They said that everything was so perfect and beautiful that our father would have been proud of us. But we can’t take full credit. Kimmie made sure everything was to our approval. I recommend El Camino Memorial Mortuary to everyone. Thank You to the staff and special thanks to Kimberly Mosley. I know my daddy loved you for playing his Elvis music lol.
When our loved ones pass away what more can you ask for than the arranged services that were prearranged go as smoothly as possible. I’m happy to say that from the time my sister and I met with Keith and Christian to arrange my mom’s services everything fell in place as we wanted it to be for how my mom would have wanted it. There was nothing more we could have asked for. Thank you Keith, Christian and staff for the genuine dedication you have shown us during our time of grief and sadness. Mom I’m quite sure is most grateful for the excellent service you’ve rendered to us.
EDIT: The owner reached out to me and really wanted to make things right. It is not their intention to give subpar service. He listened and was able to expedite the process. I give El Camino Real 3.5 stars. I regret using El Camino Real for my father's final resting place. His case was a bit more complex because we purchased a columbarium for his ashes and needed a transfer permit. However for each step required we had to make multiple phone calls and emails to get things done. We started the process in January and the engraving still hasn't be completed as of July.
My little daughter, Carol, was buried here in 1970. We have had 2 other plots that we bought at the time. Their worth has exploded over 53 years, and what was $600 for 2 plots in 1970 is now roughly $18,000 a piece. The memorial park is absolutely beautiful and the surroundings are quiet and peaceful and so beautiful with its gorgeous topiary and lake. My parents and grandmother are also resting in El Camino and for over 50 years they have treated us with calm professionalism and absolute kindness and thoroughness. I love El Camino.
The staff of El Camino Memorial helped my family and I through the worst event we’ve ever dealt with, the loss of my son. They were patient, kind, and professional. I appreciate how they have continued to help us through every phase of this process. There were a lot of decisions to be made and they allowed me the time I needed to make them. Gracie, Christian, Mike, and Michael all went above and beyond to make sure we were able to get through saying goodbye to our family member. Thank you to all the staff at El Camino.
Families should be absolutely sure that instructions are followed through. Schedule time ahead of services or ask for confirmation that instructions were followed BEFORE any viewing or funeral services commence. El Camino dropped the ball with the preparation information for my brother's viewing and they did not prepare him in a way that anyone did recognize his normal appearance.....extremely disappointing and many family members and friends are having to deal with feelings that we did not see his last wishes through.
My uncle passed away who was living in San Diego in April.. We are living in east coast. My uncle already had a service arrangement with El Camino. We started contacting them last year to find out what kind of service arrangement he had. He had a dementia so we were not able to find out from him. They were very professional and caring people especially Gordon and Andrea. We did not have any problem even we are in east coast when my uncle passed away. I really appreciate how they took care of our situation.
My brother and I met with Elizabeth Blaj and Aliyah Collins today to go over our mom’s burial. My dad had purchased their plots and package back in the late 70’s, which was a God send. Both these ladies were professional, caring and helpful. Aliyah went out of her way suggesting a few options for our family after with catering a luncheon. We are so glad that my dad picked El Camino for their final resting spot. Doing the arrangements ahead of time is now what I plan to do so not a burden on our children
El Camino Memorial -Sorrento Valley is a stunning and peaceful place. We worked with an incredible team of people that included Kim, Ken and Dawn. They listened with such care and sensitivity to our story, needs and concerns. They worked overtime to ensure every detail was taken care of for my Father's memorial service. Kim touched our hearts with her attention to detail in her design of the beautiful casket spray. Thank you all for making a heart breaking day full of beauty and honor. Stephani
The Walker and Wilson family chose El Camino Memorial. Kimberly Mosley showed extreme sympathy and that she cared about the loss of my son. Kimberly made the process less painful she was attentive and available each and every time I tried to contact her she returned calls promptly. My experience with Kimberly and El Camino Memorial was above and beyond my expectations. The property is beautiful and the services were outstanding. Huge THANK YOU to Kimberly & the staff at El Camino Memorial.
There is never a good time when you lose a loved one. There are many things to consider and it can be very overwhelming to navigate funeral services and decisions- we are thankful that my father was wise enough in deciding that his final resting place would be El Camino Memorial- the staff particularly Kimberly were very supportive, helpful and on top of it! They made sure that they accommodated our requests- whenever I had questions- they followed up immediately. We are very appreciative!
The care and compassion we received from El Camino Memorial is something I will forever cherish. Our 11-day old daughter was cremated here in 2007 and to this day, almost 15 years later, I am grateful for the kindness and empathy of the staff as we navigated through a process we never expected. Thank you, El Camino Memorial - you made an unbearable experience something that all this time later I still think back on and feel appreciative of having you be a part of.
Our family can't say enough good things about our experience with El Camino Memorial and how they handled everything. Kim Mosley is a kind, compassionate professional, and she was there every step of the way to answer questions and help us plan my mom's memorial. Our friends and family who attended the memorial were so impressed with how everything came together...from the service in the Large Chapel to the reception in the park. Thank you El Camino and Kim!
The first photo is what will happen if you continue straight on the path. The second photo is right before you're able to see the sign that says which way the exit is. That one traffic cone completely off to the right of the road is supposed to prevent you from going down that road that's completely blocked off. The third photo is when you can actually finally see the sign and the sign is knocked down anyways. The river is beautiful though
Scott and Michael I. at El Camino/Dignity were helpful and did the best they could to accommodate the Buddhist funeral services for my Mom. They provided everything we need to follow the proper setup and procedures according to the proper steps of the Buddhist services. They were professional and made the process much more calmer while we're grieving the loss of my Mom and laid my Mom to rest. I highly recommend using El Camino/Dignity
Excellent service from start to finish in a near to perfect location. Well maintained funeral home and grounds with well attentive staff willing to go that extra mile to ensure your loved ones get the send off they truly deserve. That service continues on after the funeral with easily accessible grounds and a team of personnel always happy to help with any of your needs. A truly wonderful way to celebrate the life of our dear departed.
In the last year and a half we have buried both of our parents at El Camino. This past weekend we held outdoor services at the Veteran's Memorial for my father....in the rain. Kimberly and Sergio both went above and beyond the call of duty assisting our family with all the preparations, even adding some very endearing extras. I'll never forget the kindness and compassion they showed during this difficult time!
I had a great experience with el Camino memorial. At first I was very apprehensive cause I’m always nervous for things like this but they reissued me it would be really good and they were right! They went out of there way so see that my wishes would be taken care of. Great thanks it Blake ,Ben, and Simon and also the officiant Rick Rojas. Thank you all for making this experience a memorable one! God bless
Her family was very satisfied with the compassion and caring that El Camino gave us through this really hard time of our lives they were all very compassionate helpful they made the transition for us non-stressful accommodating took very good care of our family took very good care of our father I'm doing this whole process and Norway we're very happy with the services we received
We were treated with sincerity and genuine care by Gloria Wells (mortuary) and Elizabeth Blaj (cemetary) for all the necessary details when my father died. The whole experience of losing your loved one is not something you want to go through, but these two ladies went above and beyond to make it as painless, for their part, as possible. We are truly grateful for them.
I found the staff at El Camino Memorial to be very courteous in helping us with arranging my wife's burial...from selecting our plot to setting up the pictures of Esther in the slide show. It was all done with solemnity and heartfelt condolences. Thank you all for the sincere sympathy each one of you expressed to us during our time of grief. Sincerely, Wade Harbeck
The staff were very friendly an informative with the planning of the services. They constantly kept in touch with us through phone or email. When we had a problem with uploading our pictures, they were available on the weekend to help us. Which was resolved within a few hours. Thank you to all the staff the helped us through a difficult time. Very much appreciated.
It would actually be difficult to put into words, but I will try, the way that El Camino and their team handled our family was impeccable, and the arrangements were absolutely amazing, everyone we dealt with top to bottom was truly first class, the level of empathy and compassion was truly unparalleled, they couldn’t have done a better job in any area.
Our beloved Mother passed away due to Covid-19. El Camino Memorial Park was recommended by a church member. Kimberly M. assisted us with all the necessary arrangements and costs for the cremation. Our many thanks to Kimberly and her staff for their kindness and care. It was comforting to know that my Mother’s final journey was handled with dignity.
At a stressful and painful time, Daniel K. was such a blessing. He patiently listened to all my questions and concerns. He found answers and solutions to any issue that came up. All the while he was genuinely caring and respectful. I am confident that I can count on him if the need arises. As my husband said “Daniel was Aces” So very Thankful!
Our family expresses a sincere Thank You to Andrea Fink, funeral director. The planning, decisions made and requests for our mother’s funeral we accomplished with assistance from Andrea and the staff. Thank you Andrea for going above and beyond. Our family is comforted and pleased- we said our good bye to our mom the way she wanted it to be.
Our parents were deceived and hoodwinked by El Camino Cemetery sales staff, who led them to believe they were prepaying for all their arrangements long ago, short of opening and closing their graves. That was far from the economic truth. We experienced coercion, inflexibility, and an unconscionable process and terms.
I cannot speak highly enough about the grounds keeping staff! Two times this week I had a vase stuck and without asking for help, a worker has seen me struggling to get it out and has come to do it for me. They freshen up the headstones and are very courteous and pleasant! Great place to have my family resting.
El Camino Memorial Sorrento Valley did an amazing job on helping us with this process. No one wants to ever feel the pain of losing your child. They showed the upmost care for my daughter as I had to say see you later. All Staff were the most amazing people. Thank you Summer for all you have done.
We are very satisfied with the service given to us by El Camino Memorial especially Gloria Weil. Gloria is very hands-on And she made sure that every details from the portrait, videos,make-up, viewing till the grave side service are taken cared of. All the staff are friendly and customer oriented.
It was very hard losing my wife however, Heather was awesome in helping my son and I get through the process. Heather was available 24/7 and assisted us throughout the process. We were blessed in having Heather help us through this trying time. I would strongly recommend El Camino. Thank you.
Beautiful grounds and exceptional service. My parents are of the Buddhist faith and Dignity offered a reasonable ceremony package that catered to their faith. Everyone was genuinely professional, empathetic, and sincere. I would highly recommend El Camino Memorial when the need arises.
Kimberly Mosley was very helpful and understanding with the setup and implementation of the funeral. I believe everything went as best as possible given the circumstances and Kim allowed us to use the reception lawn after for the food and drinks. Very pleased with her performance.
I would like to say THANK YOU to Kimberly and all her staff. The service was respectable, honorable for the matriarch of our family. In these times your kindness and patience it truly appreciated. We were treated more than just a customer and you have earned a client for life.
Both my parents and a step-parent are buried here. I always have a nice and pleasant experience when I visit their crypts and grave site. Thank you El Camino for taking such good care of your facility. They make what would otherwise be a very difficult visit - simply lovely.
They were able to coordinate arrangements for my mom between the church, mortuary, and cemetery within 3 days of my mom's passing and hold services 5 days later The El Camino staff worked very hard with exceptional care and attention to get everything set. It was perfect.
Dads Viewing was amazing. His casket he picked was beautiful blue for the US Navy. Our Funeral Director Kim was wonderful. Everything was so perfect. They folded the flag so beautiful and all the ladies who helped day of burial were friendly helpful and respectful. Mahalo
Christian Staggs and the El Camino staff were very helpful in our time of need and ensure our beloved daughter was well cared for. They provided excellent service and the pricing was about as expected. They were very caring and comforting and the family is grateful!
Please shop other funeral homes before selecting this one. They do some things well but when the family is experiencing grief, you may want someone you can depend on to do things in a personal and timely basis. Overall costs higher than most for a military burial.
Myquyen Le, Michael T. and Michael N. were wonderful . The new chapels are quite beautiful. El Camino Memorial is a stunning location with a caring team of amazing people. Thank you for the professional and caring service you provide families.
Upon the untimely loss of my Mother, I contacted El Camino. They responded to my call immediately. I was given an appointment with Andrea and everything was explained to me. They handled everything for me and also were able to coordinate my
Setting up for the future, in the event something happens to them, was never in our parent's mind. But we are so grateful for El Camino Memorial. From start to finish, they have made our planning and decision making so easy and flawless for
Andrea, Kenneth and the rest of the staff were very helpful in making my mother's funeral as solemn and flawless as possible from beginning to the end of the visitation and the burial. Each member was very empathetic and expressed it well
The staff was respectful and kind. Response time was fast. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Great attention to even the littlest details. Dad’s funeral could not have been any better. Our family is grateful to the entire staff.
My siblings and I never had to arrange a funeral before, and having to do it for our youngest sister was an overwhelming and surreal ordeal! MyQuyen Le at El Camino Memorial helped us with the process, and helped relieve a ton of stress!
The service provided by El Camino Memorial Sorrento Valley was of the highest standard! They thought of everything, and guided us through all of the steps to make organizing the last wishes of my spouse as effortless as possible during a
Beautiful cemetery and amazing staff I just wish the guidelines aloud us to have more than just what fits in your flower vace. I wish I could do more but I'm not aloud. The rules have changed a lot since the 70s that's when my grandma
The entire process was made less traumatic by Sergio who has this wonderful calming personality. He is one of the most compassionate, caring and understanding people I’ve ever met. He makes difficult & stressful decisions easier to
El Camino Memorial Park is one of the prettiest around. I feel good that my mom is buried there. I was also really impressed with the way my mom looked in the open casket. The staff also made everything easy at a difficult time.
Yesterday we spent 4 hours with Gloria and Sergio, going over every aspect of the preparation for the burial of my husband. Gloria and Sergio were both respectful and caring. Thank you both and the whole El Camino staff.
The staff is so nice and they are so professional. They made such a sad time less stressful for me and my family. Their facilities are clean and welcoming. If I needed them again I would definitely choose El Camino I.
My family and I are very satisfied with the service at the El Camino Memorial Park. Things went smoothly according to plan. Most of all, we felt comforted by all of your staff, who showed sincere respect and sympathy.
I have been to El Camino Memorial several times in the past and just recently for two family members. The services have always been extremely professional, friendly, and accommodating to all our needs.
All fine details were attended to prior to services. Staff were very helpful and created a plesent setting in which we could express our love and say goodbye to our mother, sister, and friend.
Staff ate caring and on the dot for whatever you need for your loved one. Special mention are Elizabeth Blaj and Gloria Wells. They did their best to make everything so smooth until the ens.
I appreciated the opportunity to pick from a huge selection of details, and have them take the time to address my questions and provide details on pre-arrangement plans for myself as well.
Please, do all a favor - don't die! But if you have to, for a mercy to survivors – DO NOT have El Camino Memorial Park (the "ECMP") as your resting place. Don't let the time of grief and
El Camino Memorial was amazing throughout the planning and day of service process. All of the staff we encountered were kind, patient and wonderful. Would highly recommend using them
