Amazing experience. Read a bunch of reviews and saw they were mostly positive with a few that complained about the food being mediocre; Those people have no idea what they are talking about. This restaurant is an absolute gem if you want an intimate experience where you can engage with the wait staff and the chef. Wait staff are friendly, personable, and a joy to be around. Chef Justin comes up with some pretty amazing dishes, using very interesting combinations of acid, heat, and fermentation to create incredibly interesting and complex flavours. I (incorrectly) assumed that he would be doing modern riffs on Asian/mostly Chinese food; although I think they are inspired by some classic Chinese flavour combinations, they are incredibly well thought out, unique, and creative without being pretentious or unapproachable. Key examples of this is the Yue Choi cacio e pepe dish - marrying the broccoli and cheese type flavours together into an amazingly cohesive dish, or the cumin beef tar tar with Szechuan peppercorns that reminded me of a blend of northern Chinese dishes, or the crab brain on rice that reminded me of dishes my mom used to love with the crab head mixed with rice, except the crunch was simulated with peanuts and the flavour was a delicate and intriguing sauce. The little bonus soup we got made from daikon and fermented spotted Prawn heads that was brightened up with some chilli oil was simply amazing, as was the pasta dish with a fermented pasta dough. The demise of Ugly Dumpling really left a hole in our hearts for an intimate, engaging, and unique dining experience for fusion food and we will happily fill that hole with this place. We are already thinking of what friends to bring to this place and can't wait to come back again. Thank you!!

Ambiance and service were perfect. However, the omakase left us feeling underwhelmed. The first course of appetizers (root vegetable som tum, caramelised carrots, and potato+bonito) were strong (the carrots and potato were our favourite), but then the second course — a rutabaga + daikon salad — marked the downhill point of the tasting menu (though this, we admit, is probably due to personal preference of not liking bitter vegetables like rutabaga). The third course, a beef tartare with horseradish was decent enough but it’s not a standout from what seems to be typical Vancouver fare. The chicken liver rice with fermented scotch bonnet had great flavours but we did wish for more protein to be in the bowl. However, it did feel a little bit of an odd inclusion to have a rice bowl with little meat as the end of the savoury part of the omakase. It probably would have been better to skip the tartare and just add more chicken liver or other protein to the bowl, or have a different (warm) dish after the salad instead of a cold dish like tartare for more cohesion to the menu. The oolong dessert was drizzled with olive oil and was a perfect end to the five-course meal. We enjoyed this one very much. We would not get the omakase again though as we did not find that it was not worth it for the 60 CAD price, however we would come back for the oolong dessert, caramelised carrots, potato+bonito, and chicken liver rice bowl (if there was more protein to it). The wine pairing was hit-or-miss as some paired very well with the meal and others did not. Kelcie was very knowledgeable about the drinks and we’re very appreciative of her service throughout the night. Overall, lovely experience with hope for improvement on the food.

We had a very disappointing experience at the Elephant Restaurant. We ordered omakase, and many dishes were sour, which we were not really used to. However, it was still a nice experience to try all these organic foods. We were celebrating our friend's birthday. Since they only have a drink menu, and all the food is omakase, we couldn't order a cake, so we brought our own. When we arrived, we inquired about storing the cake in the fridge, but the restaurant claimed they had no space, so we placed the cake on the table. After singing the birthday song and blowing out the candles, the manager impolitely informed us that outside food was not allowed and cleared all the dishes and spoons from the table. We totally understand that restaurants may have different policies, but we were really disappointed with the manager's attitude. If he had politely mentioned the inconvenience of consuming outside food in the restaurant, we would have completely understood. However, his response made us feel unwelcome. We wanted to ask why they didn't inform us that cake was not allowed when we first arrived, but the manager ignored us without providing any response or explanation. Instead, a very friendly female server helped us check out and explained the restaurant policy, and we totally understood. We were disappointed with the service. We are reasonable individuals, and a friendly explanation would have made everyone happy, wouldn't it?

I don’t often bother to give reviews but I woke up this morning and felt like I needed to. I was very excited to try this restaurant last night with my friend for his 55 birthday. We unfortunately had an experience that left both of us not wanting to come back. The reason I am writing is I actually think your restaurant has a lot of potential but the staff were so cold that I wouldn’t want to recommend this place. I unfortunately had an emergency which left me arriving 15 min late for our 8pm reso (our server rudely brought this to my attention multiple times. We are both foodies and eat out a lot and we’re shocked at the lack of professionalism of the staff. When I arrived, my friend was sitting at the table with no water or drink (he had been there for 15 min). We proceeded to wait another 10 min for our first drink and for me to be acknowledged. We ordered. Our first course took 45 min to be delivered. The wine pairings were awkwardly spaced with the courses with too much time in between so we ended up having to order more wine. We were charged 350 dollars for this experience which I am happy to pay if the service delivers but it didn’t. The food was great and I would love to recommend this place but after this experience I unfortunately won’t come back. I wanted to let you know bc this is a rare feeling for me and I don’t like not being able to recommend something that I think has Amazing potential. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Elephant has stolen our hearts. We currently live in LA but whenever we're in Vancouver, we always make it a point to visit to them. Small and intimate restaurant delivering BIG flavors. Justin is truly a talented chef and served up some incredibly tasty dishes during the 2 times we've dined here. They are known for their unique omakase experience that can be paired with natural/biodynamic wines. On our last visit, we decided to try their burger (late night/off-menu) and pasta and both were phenomenal. We've also tried their omakase on our first visit and we highly recommend it if you are looking to try a variety of Justin's creative dishes. Shoutout to Justin and Kelsey for always making us feel at home delivering downright good food and wine. If you're looking for a restaurant off the beaten track, please do yourself a favor and hit up Elephant. You will not be disappointed. Also, try to get a seat at the bar if you can. It lends to a memorable visit. We will most definitely be back again.

I came to Elephant for my birthday dinner on the recommendation of a friend. I didn’t know what to expect as the type of food served at Elephant doesn’t have a clear definition. I was pleasantly surprised by the intimate nature of the restaurant - it felt like the chef was cooking just for us, as there were only a handful of people in the small restaurant. We did the Omakase and all I can say is WOW. This experience was probably my favourite dining experience in all of Vancouver. Each dish was full of unique flavours. The plates were inventive, thoughtful, and just bursting with life. I don’t know how this restaurant doesn’t have more reviews but it is definitely worthy of being on the Michelin guide. My husband and I wanted to soak the whole menu in so also ended up getting the late night burger and pasta and just enjoyed every moment of our meal. Pricey but so worth it. Service was also fantastic - I have nothing bad to say about Elephant. One of my new favourites in the city, hands down!

We went to The Elephant for my birthday dinner and we left happy, content, full, and blissed after our 2-hour 5-course omakase. While the dishes are all produce-driven, many of them were dressed with fish and meat goodness. Among the 5 courses as well as the amouse bouche and dessert, my favourite was what could easily come across as the most simple dish - a turnip (from a local farm in Surrey) soup dressed with sablefish oil. The flavours were so complex and delightful that we are surprised we both enjoyed the soup most. The cucumber dressed with crab innards with many varieties of chilies and the larb rice bowl made with 56 ingredients were sinfully delicious and deep in flavours as well. We are already for our next visit for our anniversary. Everyone who served us made us feel welcomed and made sure we knew every little details of what we were having.

Lovely, veggie-forward & cozy. All of the dishes were beautiful on arrival and punchy with balanced flavour. Looking forward to dining here again for the full omakase experience with wine tasting. We tried three dishes; the chicory, rutabaga, & tartar. I surrendered control of the wine pairing to their sommelier and it was the right decision. The chicory came with a sweet Riesling that cut through the dishes creamy sauce tang in the absolute best way. Then the rutabaga & tartar arrived with a slightly-oaked Australian chard. Again, it was a great choice and the minerality brought the dishes together. So, that’s how I recommend doing it. Show up, choose your dishes, ask for a dealers choice pairing against the dishes you’ve chosen. Discover some new wines or pairings that surprise you. It was so good. They know what’s up and you’re in great hands. Or, choose your own journey from a wine list that runs DEEP. Up to you. This was their first day open and a lot of things went right. Looking forward to my next visit!

Please, please go here! This is a truly hidden gem in Vancouver. Omakase style dinner that’s course based and ever changing. 65 pp gets you 5 courses plus a couple of amuse’s as well which is a fantastic value. This food is every bit worth the money. Chef Jason (just the one guy) is doing some seriously creative things and mixing flavours and cuisines like no body’s business. Their desert which is melon 3 ways, changed me. It was simple yet so complex. I haven’t even mentioned the wine pairing which were expertly matched but also has tremendous variety. Some of the bottles are final cases of the vintages so you’ll get to try something truly unique. If your looking for a Michelin starred experience but don’t want to break the bank Elephant is the ticket. What are you waiting for, go already!!!

Went here for my birthday dinner with my husband and we both did the Omakase. I have to say that this was one of my favourite dining experiences in the city. It felt like the Chef was cooking just for us as this restaurant is very small and intimate. Each dish was packed with unbelievable flavours and the dishes also seem to be inspired by flavours from around the world. One dish inspired by Thai food, another by Italian cuisine, and another yet inspired by Japanese flavours. Each dish was absolutely delighting to the taste buds and was crafted with immense artistry. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we also ordered the late night burger and pasta, equally brilliant. Thank you, Elephant, for the wonderful experience, excellent service, and incredible food! Definitely deserving of your Michelin guide rating!

The food is really well crafted with obviously a large amount of care and thought put into it. Unfortunately there are some technical errors that really interfered with the experience. Markedly, we needed to wait an extremely long time between courses, sometimes 45 minutes, which made us fill up on the first course. It was also very warm in there, which made us sleepy and also very uncomfortable. The chairs are also not very comfortable, so when you're trying to elongate a 2oz pour of wine every 45 minutes for 3+ hours, it takes you out of the experience. Also, $68 for 5x2oz pours of 2019-2021 wine is pretty expensive. Despite not being able to hear the descriptions of the food by the waitress, we enjoyed the food and guessing what it was, and we had a great time because it was certainly an experience, albeit not the one I think they're aiming for.

A quaint and hidden gem. We sat front and center where Chef Eli prepped. Chef is open for conversation and has a good sense of humour. Service was impeccable. For a 3 person team in minimal space, they work very well together. You can feel only great energy coming off of them. Now the food ... if you are not a true foodie don't come here. A true foodie meaning, willing to experience food prepared in creative ways and in small portions so your palate isn't overwhelmed. Each plate was carefully crafted and curated, bursting with flavour. And each wine pairing was done with consideration. Both Scott and Mads knew what they were talking about with both the foods prepared and the wine. We felt very well cared for. I never felt we were being served, rather felt more like we were in Chef's home. A wonderful experience and we will be back.

Very very overpriced for what you get! $68 dollars (!!!!!!) for basically 4 salads, a risotto and a dessert.. all one person portions in actual size but all meant to be shared. So you are getting half the food for double the price!! Sorry but for that price there should be at least one larger main with some kind of meat or fish.. The food itself was not bad, not much rhythm or story to the courses and some were inexplicably spaced minutes apart whereas with others we were waiting almost 15 minutes in between. Service was also a plus but it is also great in other places with similar vibes and something on the plate worth coming back for. We always want to support new places like this, the guy is trying but when you start to feel as though you are being taken advantage of price/portion wise ratings drop quickly. Once was enough sorry

A wonderful omakase experience from start to finish at Elephant. Only 18 seats available in the space at any given time. I went with the omakase wine pairing as well which if you have the means, desire, and opportunity to do so, I would definitely recommend. The wines are very well sourced and paired fantastically. From start to finish, the omakase - consisting of 5 principal courses plus some extras, was a delight. The menu explored a variety of sweet, funky, spicy, smoky, and umami flavours. Sitting at the counter was a lovely treat as I got to see the chef at work as well as explore the space and interact with the stellar staff. Elephant is an experience that you will wish you had discovered sooner and is absolutely worth the cost.

I'm unsure how this restaurant garnered so many positive reviews. We came for the Omasake "the chef brings you whatever they feel like" menu with wine pairings. Of the ~6 dishes, 1 was genuinely good, 2 were inedible, and the rest were mediocre. Credit where it's due, the plating and presentation was excellent. Portion sizes were decent even if the food wasn't. Service was good, too, saving this place from 2 stars or less. Especially bad was the "dessert" of tea flavoured jello with what seemed like 2 tablespoons of olive oil on it. The wine pairings were disappointing, the pours were small and the selected wine was neither good in its own right, nor a logical pairing with the presented dish. All they have for seating is high top stools which are uncomfortable, packed in very tight, and generally unpleasant.

Absolute gem of a restaurant. My friend and I were lucky to get a last minute dinner reservation and we greatly enjoyed the 5-course omakase. Every dish was sophisticated and nuanced in flavour while not trying too hard to be unique. We also ordered pasta in addition to the main meal and it was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. Truly worth the wait and it was fun to watch the Chef go through the pasta making process. All the servers/service was splendid and the atmosphere was friendly, intimate, and charming, which perfectly suited the evening. Thank you Elephant for the excellent night out!

This place is super cute and the service is excellent. Everyone is very knowledgeable. Came in to try the Omakase for $75/person, and every course was excellent and had unique and interesting flavour. It is evident the chef puts a lot of effort, creativity, and time into every plate. However, don’t come here hungry, as you will certainly have to stop for a full meal on the way home. It would be nice if each course was slightly larger or there was an extra course or two. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun, intimate, and unique experience however I would advise to not come here hungry if you are planning on only doing the omakase.

Food: 3/5 The starters were fresh, the one with peanuts on top was stunning - I was pleasantly surprised with the complexity and flavor. The endive was okay and this was the first time I’ve ever had beef tartar as an entré which really compromised the experience, not mentioning it’s lack of flavor and the beef were kind tard. The liver curry rice was okay. The dessert was special, salted caramel flan with olive oil. Service: 4.8/5 friendly and knowledgeable Ambience: 4.5/5 very cozy, a bit cramped * I support local chefs and restaurants, but the reviews on this place seems slightly inflated. It’s kinda backfiring as I wouldn’t be disappointed if the rating isn’t so high…

Cute restaurant and cool ambiance. Overall service was good, but SUPER SLOW, we waited for 45 minutes in between dishes. Kudos to the young chef for trying, I’m all about supporting locals, but the food tonight was very unimpressive. The best dishes were the first three veggie appetizers. The rest were very mediocre that I didn’t bother take pics. This beef tartar had a very good presentation but it tasted pretty tough and flavourless. The main dish “curry chicken liver rice” was terrible as the rice was cold and came in clumps, no offence to the chef, but it tasted like the $7 curry dish I get from food court. :/ Overall I don’t think it’s worth the $68 price tag. Unfortunately, I won’t come back

First of all, amazing food. Tiny space, only a bar and exceedingly small table(s). Its a chef style menu, you get what is on today's menu. Great vegetarian options. The food was really enjoyable/ service? the one thing they can improve on. We had to wait 15+ minutes before anyone really was taking our order, or explain how things work. There is only on cook and that made the overall service very slow. There is also no "real" bar with good cocktails, but great wine selection. The space is stylish, the bar chairs not super comfortable. If you are looking for a space off the beaten track, that offers a different kind of experience. Look no further.

Thank God we had a gift card to go to this place. The seats were uncomfortable and carmped in a small hole. The food was very mediocre and portions were small. The staff were not overly friendly. The entire atmosphere felt cold and pretentious. And typically when I go to a fancy over priced restaurant I expect a calming music to enhance the dining experience, if I wanted to listen to unharmoious loud music I would go to a sports bar. And if I pay $147 for two people without drinks I expect the food and the atmosphere to be something that's not the same as a chain restaurant, at least you get more food there. I will not go back there again.

The omakase is $60/pp for a 5 course (ingredients various as a reflection to seasonal availability from local farmers) and honestly everything we ate was spectacular. You can really taste the passion and love from the food Chef Justin puts into. Everything was well balanced and quite frankly haven't had anything that tasted so delicious in so long, especially in Vancouver. I believe past 10:30pm, you can ask for the dry aged tartare burger. We decided to only add 1 order and that was simply a mistake. This burger is not recommended to be shared, it is so finger licking good! If you love Elephant you must also try Dachi Vancouver!

Absolute gem in the neighborhood. Chef creates a weekly menu using hyper local ingredients. The tasting menu was incredible, with each dish very unique, yet familiar. Pickling and fermentation is very evident in the preparation, which creates these multi-dimensional flavours and textures. It's a treat to watch the chef in action at the bar in this cozy and intimate atmosphere. 5-star service with room for only 2 front of house. Booking in advance is highly recommended! Will definitely be going back!

This restaurant is an absolutely lovely addition to the neighbourhood. What a beautiful and cozy place to go and eat fantastic food. The service from two lovely ladies at the bar was wonderful, very attentive and friendly. I asked many questions and they were very patient and kind with answering them all and more! The chef is doing an incredible job with a beautifully flowing menu and a fantastic vision of using local farms to source the main ingredients of each dish. I think they have created something very special and I will definitely be back!!

Absolute hidden gem here. Can’t believe it took me a year to find it. I’d say a must visit when in Vancouver. 18 seats means an incredibly intimate experience so you’d better love who you’re spending it with. The staff were absolutely phenomenal. Level of service and knowledge of food and wine was impeccable. Food was so unique but the chef is a wizard. Pairings I’d never dream of went incredible together. Great wine list. Wish there was maybe 3 local beers to choose from but I’m getting pretty picky. Apparently change most of the menu every 6 weeks. We’ll be back soon for sure. Go here!

A friend and I celebrated my 50th birthday on 12/10/23. I must say, I was shook. Amazing service and food! It was creative, inspired, not to mention again delicious! I loved the wine parings too, they complemented each course very well. The whole meal was a pleasant surprise and I’ll definitely be back. I highly recommend Elephant as it will entice your tastebuds and provide you with a very unique experience.

This tiny gem of a restaurant is a real find for those who care about thoughtful cooking. This restaurant exists to highlight humble and otherwise overlooked local produce. Most of the seating is at the bar where you can watch the chef put his head down and work. His food is creative, unadorned, unique. Plating is basic, food is perfectly seasoned. The omakase is great and made even better by the incredibly thoughtfully paired wines. This meal was like a great, independent movie: it has something to say and makes you think long after the final scene. Great spot. Nice work.

  • Andreas Deutschmann

Not going to lie, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a restaurant whose menu looked like it was based around cabbage and root vegetables, but holy sh!t what a unique culinary experience! Justin’s dishes were an explosion of conflicting flavours and textures of spicy, acidic, bitter, umami and crunchy that all hit just right - in perfect balance. Service and wine parings provided by Kelcie were humble and inventive - matching the food perfectly. Cozy spot with minimal decor which really just highlights the skill of the people that work there. Well done! Delicious!!

  • H Menezes

I would not say this is good value based on the mostly vegetarian courses and minimal carbs. One example of a course is a half heirloom tomato cut in 4 chunks with some melon pieces in broth. As someone else mentioned, the first 3 courses were reasonably tasty but the rest of the courses were lacking for sure. Presentation could certainly be improved. Service was lovely. Wine pours are extremely small (3 oz or so), and average $17/glass. For $240 incl. tip for 2 ppl, we felt quite disappointed.

One of those meals where you leave questioning why you're still hungry after spending $150+ per person. We were charged a $50 reservation fee that was not refunded. If it was reflected on the bill and I missed it, then I don't understand how it was a $300+ dinner for two. An interesting concept on paper, and if you like a lot of small dishes you may enjoy Elephant, but I like to leave satisfied after spending what Elephant costs.

We came specifically for Omakase which was amazing. However, would have loved to know what we ate. Chef Justin speaks quietly and with the music volume where it was, we couldn’t always hear the description of dishes. Maybe write them down? We particularly enjoy knowing about what’s in the food. It was absolutely spectacular. One of the best meals we’ve had in Vancouver in a long time. I’ll be recommending people go try!

Do you like flavor? Don't miss this hole in the wall, industry insider new favorite. Hyper-local, mind-blowingly flavorful, good old fashioned cooking of familiar dishes -- yet so unique you've never had anything quite like them. Like wine? Awesome list with no filler garbage, nothing you're gonna see on your local BCL shelves. Like having fun? It's casual, it's hospital, it's just going to be one of the best meals you can have in this town.

Unfortunately a very underwhelming dinner experience. The Omakase menu is a line up of tiny appetizer dishes, which had to be shared. The flavours were unbalanced and not one dish did stand out. High chairs are uncomfortable and the ambiance overall a bit on the "frosty" side. Most of all, ridiculously overprized. This restaurant will have a hard time surviving in the competitive Vancouver restaurant scene.

Had the omakase here as well as the wine pairings. The wines were fantastic, perfectly paired and a huge assortment. Our server also had great background info on each of the wines. On to the food- the flavors were unique and enjoyable but the portions were so small. We ended up having to stop on our way home to get more food which was disappointing. I'd return to try some more wines but was disappointed with the omakase

One of my favourite spots in the city for a nice dinner. Can dress up, or down and feel comfortable. Staff are professional and welcoming. Food is delicious and unique. Everyone is a 10/10 ‍ 10/10 if you wanna impress a special someone! Can't wait to go back.

What pretentious mostly inedible meal — dishes were either too bitter or sour unbalanced plates, or the slop one pulls together in a hurried too late a meal (promising tomorrow we will eat something tasty or at least healthy). The only saving grace for this insult to dining was the bill injury was under $120 person

Wonderful service here - Our server Claire was outstanding. She really made a sincere and genuine effort with us. We waited 40 minutes to get in after 10pm to try the burger. It's great but wouldn't call it the best burger in the city which some people have claimed. We liked the lighting - a very underrated contributor the dining sensibilities

The Omakase menu with wine pairings was AMAZING!! 5 small plate courses with wine pairings which provided a very high end and enjoyable dining experience! We dined over 2.5 hours and I came hungry and left sated (but not overly fun). Reserve early and let the chef take you on a culinary adventure!!

We went to Elephant last night with a friend and had the most amazing experience. They catered to my preference of no fish or oils and changed all of the dishes. It was absolutely amazing. We were served by one of the owners and the service was the perfect amount of attentive. The wine list is stellar and the dessert was truly the best dessert I have ever had. Thank you!

  • Mark Adrian

First time there but has such an amazing time! My missus and I had our 4 year anniversary there and cannot stop raving about it. The food was delicious, the Chef Justin is amazing and his vision/direction is spot on, and the drinks were fantastic. Definitely a destination spot, even if you're not in the area.

Tiny (18 seat) spot to sample extraordinary vegetable forward dishes. Omakase menu changes daily. Local produce meets inventive ferments courtesy of chef Justin Song Lee. Great new spot, well worth checking out to try the flavour bomb mostly veg dishes. Dinner and late night, Friday - Monday.

Just went here last night. All dishes were excellent and the chef made a special dish to accomodate my pescatarian diet. Fresh bold flavours all around and the wine list is fun. Since they just opened they still have some service / timing kinks to work out... But I'm sure it will be smooth sailing in no time. Worth checking out .

  • R Choi

Food was exceptional imo. Lots of veggies with interesting flavours. Imaginative dishes that are a bit on the rustic side. Much attention to flavour and texture combinations. Service was great too. The only thing I wasn't happy with were the chairs. Very uncomfortable...

The chef got sick and our reservation had to be cancelled. They went so above and beyond to not only get us a reservation at Dachi, but asked us to come in at 5pm the next day for a snack. Absolutely A+ service. The food absolutely amazing, the experience perfect. Go support humans adding beautiful things to the world.

  • Christopher Noble

Great vibe. Wanted to shout out the tall guy waiter/bartender working Sunday night. I don't know if he's trained to go above and beyond but he really did. That's what every restaurant owner should be looking for. We'll be back. Thanks

Great service and cute restaurant. However, the omakase was unimpressed. Nothing really stands out except the dessert. It is a bit hard to justify 60 per person with these mediocre dishes. I probably wouldn’t come back again.

Sublime, accomplished preparation of unique favours and textures presented in the omakasa menu. Masterful understanding of ingredients and careful sourcing is done justice with equally impressive service and sommelier. A gem that you would be lucky to get in on.

  • Mike Lam

One of the best places to enjoy wine and food. They will most definitely provide you an enjoyable and memorable experience. Highly recommend you to just go with omakase and let them pick out your wines. You will learn so much about culinary and wines from them.

This place is amazing. It’s tiny and as a result we were able to sit near the chef and watch as he prepared all the dishes. The team of just three people (2 servers and 1 chef) worked amazingly well together and provided the perfect level

  • Brock Aura

Located in a small space in an industrial area, Elephant is unlike anything else in the city. It’s veggie forward, but uses offal to support many of the dishes (often in super flavourable sauces). The menu is omakase and changes depending

Justin is amazing. Everyone that works in that resto is just amazing people, it always feels like you're hanging out with your friends. The 10pm burger is still our favourite. Would give up sleeping early for Justin's burger!!

  • Alicia Ellis

Such a special little spot. The dining experience is intimate and you really feel immersed in the dining experience with the interesting dishes and thoughtfully curated beverage list. Still thinking about that turnip soup…

  • Dan Quach

Probably one of the most interesting meals I've had to Vancouver to date. Highlights were a tomato stew with fermented mushrooms and pickled plums. The dessert had a fermented chicory root which was out of this world

  • Christopher Coe

This restaurant deserves ten stars out of five. It is one of the most incredible experiences anyone can have anywhere, let alone just in Vancouver. The wine pairings are perfection. The chef is a genius. Go. Go now.

the entire omakase experience at Elephant was delightful. All of the flavours were creative, interesting, and delicious and the hosts were clearly passionate about what they do.

  • Chris Couchman

Mediocre at best, left hungry. Expensive for whats delivered. Flavours were ok. I hate leaving reviews like this. Expectations were way higher. Sorry but I won’t be back

  • Alan King Bowden

Very cool, little restaurant with an excellent modern wine menu. The chef is unbelievable and the omakase menu is the way to go. It was easily made vegetarian and 10/10

  • Clark Zheng

So I’ve been living in Montreal for a while and compared to restaurants like joe beef and parc who are basically at the same price point elephant is kinda overrated

  • Lisa Wong

The food was very flavourful and delicious. Also, the atmosphere of the restaurant was friendly and unpretentious. We highly recommend and we’ll be visiting again!

  • Arın Doruk Çelikel

Most innovative and interesting tasting burger ever - one of the rare reviews I'm posting for a burger. Pasta from the menu after 10PM was silky and very fresh.

  • Megan Monaghan

Very slow service considering how small the restaurant is. Very small tables and tight seating as well. Average food, not great value. More
