Have been coming here since Jo took over a few years ago and cannot recommend the place enough. Jo is very dedicated to her work, knows how to work with my hair, listens to my news suggestions and provides guidance for what will suit my look and desired level of maintenance. I have also had appointments with Jeanice, another wonderful stylist at the salon, and loved her work too! The atmosphere in the salon is so friendly and vibrant and the team make everyone feel like family when they walk in. They remember everyone’s preferences for tea, cut style, colour and personalised toner mixture (kind of like the way your favourite barista knows just how you like you coffee) and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. I love the sustainable focus of the place and products (the have a worm farm!) and the view out windows near the sinks is super lush and full of greenery. Anyway, if you’re looking for a long term salon, with a personal touch and high quality service (unlike some of the large chain salons) - go here!

Went for a 1.0 jet black root touch up (brown roots) with a clear gloss on the (jet black) ends. The colour didnt take on the roots so was given a free fix up and although better than before, again the colour didnt take 100%. The lady went on about dirty hair (even though I washed it twice the day before) and "product build up" (silicone) being the reason it may not have taken (even though I use professional grade, non silicone products from my hairdresser who mind you worked for Stefans and has won three hair awards and has had ABSOLUTELY ZERO PROBLEM covering my roots JET BLACK first go in the 6 weekly appointment Ive had with her for the last 10 years with all of the products I use....). So now I'm left with brownish roots. Ive done better jobs with a box colour. I didnt ask for my money back I couldnt care less. But people should be warned they have no idea what they're doing at this salon.

Salon was nice atmosphere and staff were lovely. However, I have not been happy with my cut for the price and the technique I received on my hair. My hair has unfortunately been thinned out a bit too much for my comfort resulting in shorter baby hair bits around the face to have to manage post cut.Texture is Wavy fine hair that is now uncomfortable for me. I have to grow it out to repair the over thinning (it’s just borderline ok). Feedback.. if someone makes mention of thinning being temperamental on their hair or you’re about to thin someone’s hair. Can you err on the side of caution or ask how much can be taken off before shearing, please'' Update: not even an acknowledgment from the establishment. Even more reason to keep my poor rating

I have been going there for 3 years now. I would not dream of going anywhere else. I have worked with Jeanice as my stylist. I cannot express how grateful I am that she does my hair. She is always very professional. She is amazing at her job! She is wonderful with the colours and the cuts that look good for my face and skin tone. She is always always open to all my suggestions. She always has a smile. I do not know what I would do without her. Recently I got a huge transformation from long hair to short. I got so many compliments. I love everyone at the salon so lovely and friendly. Their hospitality is unbeatable. Their products are the best for my hair. Thank you jeanice thank you jo !!

I have hard to tame curly hair. I like to keep it long and hate to go to hairdressers all that being said each time i have my hair cut by Warren I walk away beaming for weeks. He is fantastic when it comes to understanding that all curly hair doesn't function the same way and he does a through job at explaining why what i want inst going to work. I highly recommend this salon for anyone but most especially for those with curly unruly hair. The knowledge they all have and are willing to pass on is very reassuring it means that they know their industry and are good at what they do. All in all for someone who hates to get their hair cut this is one of the best places in Brisbane to come to.

Jeanice has been making my hair look fabulous for the last couple of years. It’s always tricky finding a new hairdresser but the universe was looking out for me when it pointed me to Elizabeth JJs in general, and Jeanice in particular . Not only is she a gifted stylist with how she cuts hair, she has also been able to take my dark, coarse hair and magically (over time) turn it into a delicious blonde. I look forward to each visit because there’s such a positive vibe in the salon and the girls are all so lovely. Thanks Jeanice, you’re the best!!

Jo is amazing. I’ve never been able to grow my thin, breakable hair past my shoulders despite many previous attempts to “fix” it & using expensive prescription shampoos (that were full of nasties & just dried my hair out). Since seeing Jo my hair has been the longest & healthiest it’s ever been! I couldn’t be happier. She makes sensible recommendations & I always leave feeling a million bucks after a treatment, cut & coffee. All the staff are lovely & I can’t recommend the salon enough. Thank you Jo!

I have been seeing Jo for over 10 years and she is by far the best hairdresser I have ever had. Her skills and eye for colour and styling are unmatched and she is knowledgeable about a range of hair types and aesthetics. She is such a kind person and is passionate about using cruelty free products. She is also extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to running an environmentally friendly and sustainable salon, so I know I can feel good about getting my hair done!

Love this salon. Fabulous people with a wonderful ethos (environmentally friendly, cruelty free, low to no chemical). Jo has been doing my hair for years and is AMAZING! Jamie does out of this world head massages and beautiful up styles. She is speeding through her training and way ahead of the pack. Highly recommend the salon, the hairdressers, the products and the experience.

Elizabeth JJ's in Ashgrove is the best hairdresser in Brisbane. It is one of my happy places where I leave with amazing hair and my soul recharged.

I have been going to Jo for quite a few years before she took over her salon on the Avenue - her caring beautiful personality and her dedication to doing her part for the environment are why I go back! I followed her when she moved - she always makes me look and feel better and I love the Organic hair products. A great salon in every way!
