Beware! Okay, so I had a bad experience with one of my labs being spayed at one of the spay only businesses. I figured instead of going to one of those for my other Labrador Retriever I would go to a Vet clinic that has been around for a good amount of years and I thought was run by a Vet who had his or her own practice. The Vet office hires a vet for just a few years and keeps other vets alternating every few weeks. You never see the same vet twice. Well, I made an appointment with Ellison Drive Animal Hospital after I called and asked for an estimate. The lady on the phone said that my low-end estimate would be $375.00, and my high end would be $475.00, I thought okay I can do that. The day of the appointment we arrived at 0700 in the morning like we were told to do to drop off our dog. As we are checking our dog in, Ellison asks if we have been briefed by phone about the procedure. I answered with a no, since no one called the night before like they said they would too explain the procedure. Then as the lady is explaining the procedure and fees, she tells me that there would be an extra fee for an IV, blood work, and some fee in case the dog is obese, pregnant or in heat. Mind you she is a puppy who has not had a season yet. So, now the fees are adding up past the high-end of $475.00 that was given over the phone. OH, and how about they ask that if the dog has complications during surgery, if we would like to spend $300.00 of save her or $600.00 to save her. Basically, how much are you going to spend to save your dog’s life! The surgery was horrible for the dog, they did not let her out to urinate and her bladder was full even though she urinated that morning and had no water for over 12 hours. The vet decided to use a syringe to drain her bladder which caused a UTI; which I had to pay for antibiotics for the UTI ($45.50) and they charged half of the obese fee because her bladder was full, and they ended up having to make a very large incision (10 inches). We arrived when they asked us too and did not perform the surgery until late that afternoon. How was it that her bladder was so extremely large? And the total I paid after the initial $475.00 was $712.14 to include paid killers the next day ($37.38) which they did not provide the day of the surgery. They did not explain that the anti-inflammatory medicine would make her pant and stare at a wall for hours on end, an issue I had never encountered before with any other pet. Which led me to take me dog to an emergency Vet since they were closed and paid more moreover and was prescribed a mild tranquilizer to calm her down and allow her to sleep and rest. UPDATE TO MGR. RESPONSE: NIKKI WAS MY DAUGHTERS DOG!! NOT MINE. or she wouldn't have gone to this facility at all Check your records!! We have not brought ANY of our precious pets to this facility after you screwed up Maggy's spaying and had one of your rotating vets say my Daughter's dog had def. broken a toe and possibly had 3 broken but she couldn't really tell because it was not her " specialty" so she told us she needed to see a specialist. Again you are the one spreading the " mis-information to the public. I have every thing on record and am now dealing with the BBB.I have NO REASON to lie here about your facility Why would I lie?? After spending over 3 grand there the only thing I wanted was my money for the xrays back that were never sent to us, so we had to pay to have them re-done at another facility. I even had one of your employes call me the next day after I spoke with Brandy telling me that we were right and they knew it! pretty sad when even your staff knows you are wrong. YOU do have ROTATING VETS THAT COME AND GO. NEVER THE SAME VET. IT SAYS EVERY ROOM IS RECORDED FOR TRAINING-- GO BACK AND WATCH IT!! AND LISTEN TO DR.EDGING TELL MYSELF AND HUSBAND THAT NIKKI NEEDED TO SEE A SPECALIST. THEN GO AND SEE HOW MANY XRAYS WERE SENT TO ME! FOR YOUR TRAINING SINCE NONE OF YALL KNOW HOW TO HANDLE A COMPLAINT. I PITTY ANYONE WHO BRINGS THEIR ANIMALS TO THIS FACILITY.

In response to the owners, first let me say that our displeasure is with your staff and how they handled the situation. There was no acknowledgment that you staff failed to properly send an email that resulted in not receiving all x rays which caused us to pay for more x rays. Brandi outright called us liars because not every word that the Vet spoke us was written in the notes. She wouldn't even check the email sent to confirm all attachments. Sometimes files are so large they are removed at the time of sending the email. Your practices are questionable in many areas. We tried to handle this directly with management but now we will proceed to BBB. Check your cameras that supposedly record everything for training purposes. Do NOT take any of your loving animals to this facility. They use rotating vets, so they NEVER have the same VET here to look after our pets. Call and ask them they will tell you. We had a HORRIBLE experience on Wed.12th of Feb. My Daughter's Chihuahua hurt her paw in a tussle with a dog next door and she was in pain and there was a small bleeding cut so we called, and they said they could see her at 4 pm that day. We took her at 3:30 and were taken back around 4 there was a Dr. Erin Edging DVM whom saw her. At first glance she said that she didn't think anything was broken but she asked us if we wanted to go ahead and get some x-rays done to be safe. we agreed that would be best, she came in after the x-ray and said that she DEFINATLY had ONE broken bone and possibly 2 other ones. But Nikki is a very tiny dog and she advised us this is not her specialty, so she said she needed to see a specialist. if we wanted, she could sedate her and try to fix the one that she said was broken badly manually. we told her "No" because she is not my dog and I would have to check with my Daughter. So, we left, now it’s a little after 5 so we had to wait till the following day to try to find a specialist that could do surgery. we spent $405.17 on this visit. The next morning, I had to call them back because they had not emailed me the x-rays like they said they would. and a few minutes later I did rec. an email with 1 image the memo said " to view other images double click this image. So, I assumed they were all there. Now we have to take her to another vet we find a nice lady Dr. Ridder so we took Nikki there on Thursday evening at 6pm as she pulled up the email from Ellison there was only 1 image ( they took 4 x-rays) but, only sent me ONE. and it was a poor image, so we then had to pay AGAIN to have more x-rays… and guess what??? nothing broken!!! I called Ellison back this morning to speak with Brandy the office manager and she never called, I had to call and ask Leslie why she hadn't called me. the lady wrote down my number wrong ?? ok. Like you don't have our information in your computer Brandy, you couldn't have double checked to make sure you were calling the right phone number? being a Mgr. I would think that would be your first thing done. so here it is 4:30 I finally get a call from Brandy who said she will not refund my $189.00 for the x-rays that I never got, and had to pay to have more done because Ellison did not send them like they said they would. She called me a liar and said that the Dr. didn't put any of this in her notes. Ellison took 4 images of Nikki's foot and only sent one in my email. we are not rich people and want to always do what is right regardless therefore we chose to do the x-rays. The Dr.'s rotate and are only there once a month so this can always happen. I am so thankful to Dr. Ridder for advising us that Nikki didn't even have any broken bones, she doesn't know how ANY VET could have suggested sedating her and manipulating her little bones. I am a very fair person and only wanted the amt. of the x-rays refunded. Brandy was RUDE and extremely unprofessional she didn't even look at the email to confirm that only 1 image was sent, she blamed it on my phone.

Before I start this I want to mention that I asked to speak to a doctor about all this , but I was denied !!!!!!! I have been with this Vet for over 7 years, and I never had a problem. I actually really enjoyed their service. I brought all 4 of my dogs to them and spent thousands of dollars there and never had an issue, until recently; I have one Pitbull and he is a complete baby when it comes to bad weather and thunder, he literally tries to hide under me and shakes uncontrollably. After not being able to get sleep for two days in a row and still having to work I was at the end of my wits, I called them, in tears, asking for a different medication because the Trazedone was not helping, not the double dosage they suggested either. They then told me to double the dose and add three pills of Benadryl, which did not work either. After a week of no sleep and me looking up all types of ways to help him (and me) I called again and suggested a medication I used for him once before, that actually worked, they denied it and suggested a medication that would slow down his heart rate and according to some research I did, actually slows down his heart rate and has killed dogs in the past. I denied it, of course, and I made it clear that I will find another Vet for my boy Max but I would keep my other pets with them. Besides the issues I’ve had with medicating my dog, I yet ran into another issue with them; I called to get a health certificate for my daughters’ dog, so she could take her to Florida with her while visiting family. The receptionist ended up booking me with a Vet that was unable to complete the certificate for me. They called me and tried to reschedule but had no availability until after my daughters flight left. So I had to change my daughters flight and they gave me a walk in appointment the day before her changed flight, which was one hell of a hassle but okay…then they kept my dog for unnecessary 4 hours, no update and when I was able to pick her up they made me sign all types of paperwork and made me wait in the parking lot an additional 20 minutes before they brought her out, on top of leaving me on hold for 15 minutes and coming back twice to ask what I was calling about. I’m honestly stunned by their decline of service and I ultimately decided to take all of my pets to another Vet from here on out. I would have recommended them with 5 stars in the past, but now it hurts to even give them one star. They’ve become a money-making business who do not care about their clients.

Just want to give everyone a heads up we took our 4 1/2 month old puppy to this groomer named Joe who works at Ellison Veterinary Hospital for a “puppy trim”. We picked him up with his hair much shorter than we asked and his eyes red. Groomer stated it was because of the blow dryer he was afraid of it and got stressed. We get home and eyes continue to get redder & looking more like busted blood vessels. Long story short Ellison Veterinary Hospital said Joe the groomer is a 3rd party but yet i booked appt with Ellison V. H. and was charged by Ellison V. H. They offered us to bring our puppy in to have his eyes examined by the vet and she stated it was bruising in the eye which I now know is called hyphema which is caused by trauma or strangulation probably caused by puppy on leash fell off the table and was choked for who knows how long. Joe the groomer on the other hand came outside while I was waiting for our puppy to get seen by the vet and just argued with me about reimbursement or anything to make it right or even answers on what really happened to our puppy. He boasted that he has “plenty of customers and lots of good reviews” so we didnt have to bring our puppy back there if we didnt want to, no apologies whatsoever! He stated under no circumstances has he ever reimbursed anyone for services and still stuck to his excuse about the eyes being red because of blow dryer and that this happens all the time to dogs. Of course we will never take him back there but beware because i feel our puppy could have died and it was very heartbreaking and traumatizing to my children bringing their puppy home this way not to mention the trauma our puppy experienced at the hands of this groomer. I asked manager named Shelly if they had cameras there and she stated she “didn’t know if they have cameras or not because she was new there.” I am still waiting on an answer back from her after calling again and they said she was busy and still no callback so they are obviously giving me the runaround. I would never want this to happen to anyone’s fur baby! Please beware of this groomer named Joe and even Ellison V. H. for not caring enough to allow this to happen to anyone’s pet!

As a former veterinary technician, I hate the idea of giving a veterinary hospital a bad review. But we were misled on how much we would be paying for our dog's neuter. When we scheduled the appointment, we were given an estimate of $346.50 ON THE HIGH END. Seemed reasonable to me and so we went ahead and scheduled the neuter. Then when my husband arrived to drop off our dog he was given a list of all the extra things they "recommended" like bloodwork and additional pain medication, all of which my husband agreed to because we want to provide the best care for our pet. When he told me this, I was surprised because every clinic I had ever worked for, those things were built into the cost of the surgery and seemed pretty standard practice to me. So my husband paid over $600 for the neuter and left for the day. When my husband returned to pick up our puppy, there were even more charges added to the bill. A second IV catheterization (umm, shouldn't that only happen once for a neuter???), a second biohazard disposal fee and a charge for "hospitalization" (when he was only there for an outpatient procedure and the "stay" should be included with the cost of the procedure). All in all, we paid $708.45 for a dog NEUTER. A procedure that takes maybe 45 minutes and minimal staff and supplies. I have worked at 7 veterinary clinics in cities like Denver and Seattle, where the cost of living is almost quadruple what it is here in San Antonio and I have NEVER seen a neuter cost more than $400. We felt completely blindsided by the cost. The original estimate should have included ALL of the possible costs so we knew ahead of time that we would be walking away with a $700 surgery and had the opportunity to price check other hospitals. We started going to this vet clinic because the staff was friendly and helpful, but we don't know if we can continue to patronize a vet clinic who sneaks in surprise upcharges on our visits. Transparency is key here. I have no issue paying for quality services if the price is agreed upon ahead of time, even if it is a range of $300-$700.

So I took my Corso here for cherry eye replacment surgery. They charged 2K for both eyes and it was unsuccessful. (Quick note: they are expensive as hell, go to another vet) Granted they told me it doesnt always work but aggressively made it seem like removing them (which is surgery option 2) would be deterimental to his health - which it turned out its not. I then wanted them to remove the cherry eye and they are again trying to force me do a replacement surgery DESPITE knowing it didnt work the first time. This is highly suspect to me and others I have discussed this with including other vets in the area. Again, the reasoning they gave for trying to force me to pay them another 2K for the replacement surgery (instead of removal) was that the dog will have dry eyes which is NOT life threatening in the least (but they act like it is). This was confirmed by another vet and several other corso owners who did have the cherry eye removed - all said the dogs didn't have an issue with dry eyes after removal surgery as per their experience. They are scammers and will definitely try to trick you so they can get all of your money while pretending like it's to benefit your animal. I would recommend going someplace more ETHICAL. Ellison's sole goal is to profit as much as possible, even if it means putting animals through unnecessary surgeries knowing they wont work. How is that right? That should be considered animal abuse and I will be looking into filing a report to have them investigated. All the people that work there should be ashamed of themselves. They Definitely aren't doing it because they actually care about the health of these animals. Please learn from my mistake and don't take your fur babies here! They shouldn't be in buisness when they are prioritizing money over the animals health. Absolutely disgusting.

Before I write this review I just want to mention that I literally have traveled all over the world with my cat; from Texas to Alaska, from Alaska to Germany and from Germany to back to Texas for starters. My cat is a house cat and has never been very comfortable at the Veterinarian. I have always warned the previous Vets about his behavior before I brought him in and never has a Vet suggested to sedate my cat for a Health certificate. I made an appointment with him at this Vet in the 10 day timeframe to fly out and the receptionist made me an appointment with the wrong Veterinarian and being unable to reschedule me anytime before my flight, I ended up having to push my flight back by a week. (Luckily without charges) However when I brought him in they considered him a Walk in and made him stay in his Kennel for over three hours, KNOWING how uncomfortable he is and when I called to check in on him they still have not even seen him. After waiting 3 hours and them ultimately them wanting to sedate him for $120 more, I was honestly in loss of words by their unprofessionalism. I ended up picking him up, he was exhausted, had drool all over him and shed all over his kennel because of his anxiety. I was unable to take my cat on my trip and I had to find a last minute sitter for him. Never in my life did I encounter so many issues to get a Health certificate and I didn't even get one. They wasted my time, money, gas and caused my cat unnecessary distress. This is very obviously a money making business, they do not care about the animals nor their clients. I absolutely do not recommend them.

We brought our poodle here to board because their other location no longer does boarding. We were ensured he would be taken care of like he has in the past (at other location) and that the staff is the same. We were 5 mins from faciltiy to pick up our dog and we received a phone call from them stating our dog was having pain in his abdomen. Our dog is perfectly healthy never had any issues and they even stated he tried to bite one of the staff. Once again our dog has Never bitten anyone. We knew something was off. They asked to give him meds and have him checked out. We declined the check up however got him meds. When our dog was brought to our vehicle. He was a different guy. Completely quiet, sad, and out of it. He is usually excited to see us, ride in a car and this time he was not the same. Then when the bill came they tried to add on a extra fee they never disclosed to us and said for us to check our email for the bill. The email has yet to come and that was on Monday 2/21. It is now Thursday 2/24! Luckily my husband questioned it and they brought a print out and said this charge was something they always do. However at their other location this was not the case. They waived the fee this “one time” they said. However we will never bring our dog back here again. Our poor dog was traumatized and is finally back to his personality after being boarded with them for 3 days. Never again!! His stomach was not in pain nor was he. I just feel like something happened and I wish I knew what! If you care about your animals do not board with them!!

Well, I took my fur baby to Ellison Animal hospital hoping that they would provide him with the best services during my search for a proper diagnosis. I came to this hospital twice in 1 1/2 week apart. First, for a general check-up just to make sure my baby was healthy without any concerns since I just got him from a breeder and the 2nd visit for the 2nd boost vaccinations. Well, he wasn’t feeling well the day before his visit. I told them my concern and got checked for Parvo as per my request. After extensively waiting in the parking lot for a long time he came back negative for Parvo. They ran more testings, gave my baby diet food and meds and the tech brought back the pup to me saying he probably have allergies. Spent so much money and my baby wasn’t getting well. The next day my baby’s health deteriorated and I thought to myself that something wasn’t right even after my baby’s diagnosis from this place so I decided to take him to the ER because he was losing weight rapidly, not eating, not moving, and had diarrhea. Well, he did had PARVO, my pup came back positive for parvo and was in critical condition. Unfortunately my baby ended up passing in the ER. Now, tell why would you charge me so much money and y’all can’t even diagnoses animals properly I would never bring another dog into your office. If you are reading this and are looking for a good vet, this is NOT the place for you. This is shameful in many ways and absolutely wouldn’t recommend to anyone to bring any of your loved fur babies into this place.

What is wrong with people now days?! It's called customer service. Boarded my puppy for 3 days, we took toys and a blanket and labeled bagged food with directions, that said Sat. AM and so on. First, when we picked her up 2 people told me she was over due on vx and they were going to do them. How about asking if she is current or checking the computer? If she was past due, which she was not, why are you just now telling me at pick up?! Second, none of her food or treats were given to her! So I asked what she had been eating and I get the answer of "I don't know." Now to top it off. They bring her out, she is trembling, and say " she is so hyper" no kidding she's a puppy!!!!!! Not only that but she had urine and feces all over and the girl says "just walk her in the grass it will be okay." How about rinsing her off before bringing her up?!!!!! What an idea! I have been a kennel tech, vet tech, 12 year groomer veteran and office manager of a vet clinic. What is going on at this place?! To put the cherry on top, the groomer was rude as all be to a little old lady who wanted a turn and burn on grooming. It can be done, trust me. I was just in shock at how people can get away with such a lack of compassion in their job. It's a shame. Potranco, the sister clinic, is so unorganized and the "vet" we saw looked like she just smoked a blunt before we got there. She was very unprofessional. Not once did I get a smile from a tech at Ellison. Maybe these clinics need some classes on customer service or time to get a new career.

We went here for a little over a year and didn't have a problem until after we left, but now I'm wondering what else I missed. After leaving, we were headed on vacation to Canada and needed a signed rabies certificate to get across the border. Had to ask multiple times for this as they sent us the shot records instead of the certificate. When we got it, all of it was messed up. The expiration date was three months before they gave it to my dog. Afraid they would tell me it was a typo, I decided to check the lot number. Had to call the manufacturer. There are only a few vaccines available. Zoetis manufactures the Vanguard brand rabies shot. Merck manufactures Nobivac. My rabies cert listed a lot number, Zoetis as the manufacturer and Nobivac as the brand. I assumed there was another typo. Called up BOTH companies with the lot number and it didn't belong to either of them. Called Ellison Drive and they said it was filled out wrong by the tech, so the date doesn't expire until way later. Of course, I have no proof of that. Asked about the manufacturer and they said Zoetis makes Nobivac. I told them that is incorrect and explained who made what. Lots of backtracking and "we'll call you back" and changing stories. I just said give me a refund for the shot and I'll get another one done at a different vet. If your dog got shots here, demand a copy of the label with lot number and brand on it when it is administered. This type of shadiness is worrisome.

I took my dog here for the first time. It was a drop off appointment. I dropped him off at 10am. Nobody told me how long it was going to be. I waited and waited and at 4pm I called to check in. They said the vet was at lunch but my dog would be second after the vets lunch. Mind you they close at 6. So I waited and waited for a call to tell me he was ready. At 6 I decided to call them, the receptionist said “well we are closed now, that’s why we tell people if they haven’t heard anything by 5pm to just come by”. I was never told this, Even at 4pm when I spoke to the vet tech. So she asked me how far away I was and I told her about 10 minutes and she said “alright well just come down now then”. I arrived there only for the receptionist to tell me they were waiting for the vet to be done with my dog. I’ve been to several vets before, even for drop offs, and it’s never taken more than 4 maybe 5 hours. My dog was there for 8 hours. My dog was extremely thirsty when he got home so I have no idea if he had access to water or not. Normally when I have done drop offs I get a call from the vet letting me know what happened during the appointment. I never heard from the vet at all. The vet tech really quickly told me the heart worm test was negative but that’s it. Nothing else. I’m highly disappointed in my experience and I will be seeking out a different vet.

Make sure you get everything in writing, because when you first come in they tell you one thing. This puppy package includes everything, come back for a second visit and he will be all good. When I come in for the second visit, I get hit with ANOTHER BILL, then am told I have to come back for a 3rd and a 4th and will be billed 2 more times! The groomer came out and gave me an attitude because I didnt dock the tail of my dog which is only for looks and has absolutely NO medical benefit or need for it. I didnt realize I was getting financially screwed to get judged for not physically mutilating my dog so it could "look pretty". The couple of times I have been here, there is always someone yelling at the staff for non communication, I should have listened! ****UPDATE**** I FINALLY heard back from the practice manager who put to me in writing that it is too time consuming to address any concerns via email and she would only talk over the phone. The ACTUAL reason for this is that they REFUSE to stay TRUE to ANYTHING THEY SAY.

If I could provide less than a full star I would. I brought my dog Bella here to this clinic on an emergency basis when she broke her toe. I understand our first visit was on an emergency basis and our wait was long. Although, each visit after we had a long wait and the length or each visit was an hour and a half to almost two hours. At one appointment they did not have the necessary materials to wrap Bella's foot. We then, had to wait even longer so that the material was brought over from another location. The office does not update on healing unless you ask. We were sent home with a cut on her leg with no mention of how it got there. When questioned, they mentioned that it had been there for weeks but had NEVER been mentioned to me at any appointment, Overall care at this facility is not great! You cannot get a return call from the office manager. I would not recommend bringing your loved furry ones here for treatment.

Horrible experience with a dog we rescued. The dog was tick infested so to get the ticks removed and him up to date on shots they said it would be over $180 for everything. That seemed very high to begin with but were in a hurry and woud give a try since it is very close to our home. Picked him up after he was "ready" and took him home. Later that night we were playing with him and noticed a "few" ticks. A few turned into over 60 ticks that were not removed from him and we have other dogs at home and small children. When returned to ask what they would do they said was only a treatment that we got and that if we wanted to give him another bath it would be $40 more. Customer Service is definitely not a priority here....We will not be using them for anything and will never recommend them! If you have thought about going here DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC!!!! OVERPRICED AND UNCLEAR CHARGES!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS EITHER!!!!!

We have been going here for almost 10 years. Dr. Curd is awesome but Joshua needs to learn how to speak to customers on the phone. After my wife signed a quote of 1400 - 1800 to have our dogs dental done. Joshua called me in the morning and immediately started to up charge me saying how much more was I willing to pay, to manage the dog's pain if they find more teeth to be extracted. when I asked about quote, he said look, "Do you want the dog to be in pain or not, if we find any more teeth that need to be extracted and you don't agree to pay more money she will be in a lot of pain. When I asked to him allow me to speak to my wife, he said. "Look if we can't have rational conversation on how much money you want to pay extra for this procedure then we will just cancel it." What! You know my dog is in pain and your willing to cancel the procedure, because I asked some questions about a two thousand dollar procedure.

Was told we needed to see a Vet asap last week & couldnt find one after trying different ones so we scheduled an appointment with her normal vet for over a week later, which was completely fine and not the issue. Well today was supposed to be the day but they changed it for next week. With less than 24 hours notice because they called when we were at work and have no access to our cell phones (it stays in the car and can't enter the building). They said we didn't "Check In" which we have NEVER had to do in the year we have been going here. So they moved our appointment to a walkin status NEXT WEEK. So after telling us our pet needed to be seen asap for their medical issue then us setting an appointment it still wasn't good enough. Incredibly unprofessional and unreliable. Looking for a new vet asap. Edit: No, it wasn't helpful. We've made many appointments and have never seen the confirmations you claim to have.

Unless you want to spend an unplanned amount of money stay away! The girls will quote you an amount for their services on the phone to get you to come in and then at check out surprise you with 3 times more than you were quoted! They do not let you know if they’re doing anything extra or if the visit will cost you an extra $50+ just for the vet to come in for a couple of minutes if something needs to be explained to you. Then what you get told if you ask explanations is: sorry but unfortunately you were misinformed..... well not everyone has a few hundred dollars just laying around because their employees do not know the right amounts to quote you over the phone or for the techs not letting you know in the room that there will be an extra charge because they decided to do extra shots without your permission! Worse customer service I’ve ever encountered! I’d give it 0 stars if I could!

Do not and I repete NEVER go here!!!! I moved here and found this vet to take care of my babies. Everytime we come it is complete chaos. Never get to see the actual doctor, staff is rude and you are put on hold for extremely long times to even check in. Took one of my girls for a major surgery. No one called to update me all day. I finally called and they had no idea what was going on with her. They finally had me pick her up at 9pm. Today, I had a scheduled 130pm appointment for shots. They make you wait in the car, they finally came and got her at 2pm. When I voiced my displeasure regarding their timeliness and their shot protocol I was told to apologize!?!? WHAT Not even 5 min later they bring my girl back to me. I gave them my credit card and 10 minutes later, as I write this, I am still waiting in my car waiting to check out!

Update: My 5 star review just went to a 1! After 5 years of being a loyal customer you just lost my business. Called to get a quote on neutering my 1 year old pug. Was told I would be emailed a quote. A week later, no quote. Called again and was told it would be $100 to $200. Ok awesome. I called back a week later after looking at what worked for my schedule and was told it would be $440!! This is a 20lb male dog! I know gas went up 20 cents overnight, but more than double on a dog to get neutered is insane. Ive always thought the vet here was great and very knowledgeable. As for the receptionists, she needs to replace them all. Love this Pet Hospital! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and they CARE!! We have been bringing our pets here for 3 years now and will not go anywhere else. Best place in town!

I am so happy I found this vet!! I loved my experience with them. My dog had a major tumor on his throat, Dr Curd was awesome! My old vet is on the other side of town and I did not think I could find another vet that I would like as much and that would be as good to my animal as my old country vet, but I was wrong. Dr Curd took the time to explain and answer all of my questions, she did not rush me through the door like other vets do, she did not leave the question answering to a tech, she spent the time to get to know my dog and our situation. I received a call first thing the next morning from them to check to see how my dog did through the night after his surgery and then another a few days later. I appreciated the fact that the service did not stop after I paid for the surgery.

I'm very grateful to have sound veterinary care for all my pets. Please be advised they are not an emergency pet hospital. They give good advisement about pet behavioral issues to the common issues. I don't get forced to have it one way, my options are explained. They take care of my hard to deal with pets. I include the grooming staff with this as well. They do great work. It was nice to have the option of sedation for my one, due to past abuse to get a show trim, full bath, ears cleaned and full senior exam. He is all skippy and happy now. The staff really give great care from intake to release. They do their best with on the spot appointments. I do have to give a special shout out to Pricilla. She takes good care of my Jin. You guys all together really work your butts off.

Made arrangements on Monday for specific care n grooming. On a fixed income and moving away from San Antonio I made it clear what I needed. Upon arrival I again explained what I was booked for and asked for a $150 deposit. For what? "All dogs must be fully vaccinated for grooming. My dogs annual date only just passed in March while I was away for a family emergency that turned into a funeral. Ok I get it. But what I don't get is how I was called @ 7am, an hour before I had to be up to deliver my dog to tell me things I already knew. How rude is that! Question. Why did the person that set my appointment explain the vaccine/grooming policy so this 64yr old disabled person didn't get awakened @7am and make the trip up there for nothing. For the lack of consideration 1 star.

I was hoping I found a vet for my dogs, but alas I don't believe this is true, my 3 dogs went in today, they were given medication that was not authorized(flea pills) they wear seresto collars for flea and tic control, they tried to put them on uneeded medication for allergies, stated that one of my dogs who has never had allergies, needed to be treated for allergies. Not once did I talk to the vet caring for my animals, and just because there was a one month lapse in their rabies shot that their shots could only be for one year(another way to get money, they are the same shot) and even though I was spending an excess of 400, charged me $20 to trim one of my dogs nails. To say the least I won't be returning. Recommendations on better vets welcome.

  • Brucks Saathoff

This place is horrible. We brought 3 puppies here that we rescued. We made an appointment at 8:30 A.M. They did not treat them until 4 in the afternoon so there was absolutely no reason for them to be there all day locked up. The first update we got was a call from them saying they will close in 10 minutes and shut off their phones.. that’s it. We had to go into the place to get our puppies and find out what was going on. All they did was bring my fiancé to tears saying we would have to give one up because she has a fractured hip.. which is in no way true because she runs around and wrestles with the others just fine. Do not bring your pets here, these people do not care about your pet and just want to charge you for everything they can.

  • Chula Gisel

I do not recommend this place at all. They kept on calling me and calling me to change the price that they were giving me (the price kept going up). My cats were groomed yet their ears were still dirty when I got home and I checked them. They had me waiting outside over an hour just WAITING for my cats medication and when the lady called me to inform me that she forgot to give them to me she thought it was okay to laugh about it. To get my cats groomed, for their yearly shots, and for their ear checkup/medication it came out to over $500. They are very unprofessional and unclear on their prices. Do not come here , it is way to expensive! There are other vets that are way more affordable and they are clear and professional!

  • R. Bannerman

My dog "Smoke" in for a checkup since he was fairing his right paw. Long story short, it was a problem with his shoulder, and the prescribed medications worked great. I was told that he'll need a different prescription that's not as destructive in the future after further review. The office visit went fairly smooth, but I did have to take him to their main clinic even though I scheduled the appointment at the closer one. However, the staff at the main clinic were amazing. I put his muzzle on and warned them that he bits when afraid, and the visit went pretty smoothly (he was sedated). The price was fair considering everything he had done, and I got a year supply of flea and tick messages so he could travel with us more.

  • Hope Armenta

Hmm...what do I say. It's hard to review this. Staff was good and friendly, but I was in my car for almost 2 hrs. I called after 1hr & 1/2 and was attended to with info on my pets condition quickly. It's almost like they forgot about her, because I saw many pets come and go. I gave 3 stars because another previous review was the same and they're not resolving the issue. 6/25 because of my experience here I decided on Great North Western Animal Hospital due to the high ratings, and I thought, for sure appointments must be at least a week out. So I took a chance and called and they got me in next day 1030am The wait time was maybe 10 minutes, the doctor was thorough and detailed in communication. I give them 5 stars.

  • Erin Meurer

I dropped of my two dogs to board for 6 days. When I picked them up at about 9:30 am, one of them peed in the lobby. She is fully potty trained, and her bladder looked like it was completely full by the amount of urine on the floor. This leads me to think she hadn't been taken out yet. My other dog had stickers caught in her hair. They were deeply matted; I had to shave her when I got her home. I understand that I did not sign them up to be groomed prior to picking up, but I thought they would at least take the stickers off of her after letting her out. She had them all over her face and paws, which I'm sure is uncomfortable. I was disappointed in my experience, and will not be boarding them here again.

  • Monica Anguiano

We brought our dog Bella here for a broken toe. First of all, they have no sense of urgency. Why set up appointments if you’re going to keep patients waiting for 2+ hours? Took her back every week for new bandaging, ended up spending more time there than expected for a bandage change. When taken back to get the cone and bandage off, of course we waited for longer than we should’ve. Picked her up and her foot looks absolutely horrible. Super raw, they also failed to tell us she had a cut on her foot (which she developed at the beginning of this process). We’re left with a super sad dog, raw paw, and an ugly cut. We aren’t going back and would not recommend taking your fur babies here.

  • jenny taylor

Oh my I can not say enough about this vet it was my first time there my dog let me tell you is an older dog she has not been to the vet much she has a heart problem and she is not very well behaved they where so good with her now other vet could get her to act like that so I stopped taking her to the vet for there safety and my dogs safety I did not want to loose my dog for being a mean dog when she really is not she is just scared because when she know you she does not act like that any more. We will be leaving our other vet that our other dog goes to that we have a puppy plane with and bringing her here now and we will be bring ours cat here is well. They are great.

  • Morning Dew

I'll start by informing you that there is an appt reservation fee $35 that goes toward your visit. • It is impossible to get in touch with someone there. I even left voice msgs as indicated by their recording & they do NOT callback. I had to go to the Vet office to talk to someone & get my questions answered. • 2 of the Vet techs were nice but the 3rd one i encountered, seemed lost. The "lost tech" fumbled around looking for forms/results, trying to figure out if they had lost my pet's sample. • the Veterinarian is really nice, really detailed with her information. However, she talks fast! She does make sure you understand what you discussed before you leave.

  • coach mram

So disappointed. We started coming here last year, but when I went in for my schnauzer's appointment, they said they gave up my spot since I didnt respond to the their confirmation call. When I asked what number they called they gave a number that was not even close to anyone in my family, so that was weird. I asked them how that was my fault? They just said sorry, but we will treat you as a walk-in. Meanwhile, 2 hours later waiting in my car nothing happens. When I call back they said they probably wont be able to fit me in but maybe by the end of the day. I'll just find another Vet to see us. I was never rude and remained patien, but No Thanks!

  • Electra Taylor

Absolutely the best experience! My dog has had severe allergies and was itching so much he had open wounds. The staff at Ellison offered to have us come in immediately, but I couldn't due to my work schedule. I was able to drop him off the next morning, before I went to work. By the time I was out, he was ready. They found the issues and gave me many options. He's my baby, so I took them all! The same evening I get him home, he wasn't itching nearly as much as he had been. And we all finally got to sleep through the night! I also loved that when I went to pick him up, the staff told me how great he did all day, even with the vet and techs

  • Blanca Roberts

Do not trust the grooming department, Joe and Jr with your fur babies. Listen to your babies crys, whimpers, and change of character. Walk away. I can provide many examples, from past experiences, this one specific time, my baby was returned to me with a small perfectly rounded circle around her neck that resembled a burn. I called goomersnand no reasonable explanation was given. It seems they don't like to brush, and style, they are quick to shave instead, " less hassle, work, maybe", As for Ellison vet.clinic, and its employees i have no complaints, they have always been great with fur babies, and seem to genuinely love their jobs.

  • Classic Rock

We recently lost out pet bunny,Pepper. She passed away the day I was going to take her in to be seen. She had been sick for about a week. When I went to get her ready to go in her little basket, she had already passed. That day was such a hard day. I had to call and cancel her appointment which made it even harder to speak. The staff at Ellison Dr. Animal Hospital are amazing. I recently received a sympathy card from them and I greatly appreciate it. It brought me to tears knowing how much they care. Thank you Joe,for being Pepper's groomer. Again, thank you everyone. I'm sure Pepper is her happy little self again

  • Frankee Chapa

Thank you to Josh and the doc that assisted in helping my Stella. It's been a tough couple years on us and hadn't been to a vet in a while. We had thought a growth on our doggie wasn't a concern because of some other advice but when she started acting extremely different and tired, we could tell something was wrong. Ellison Vet Hospital found a cyst and hernia on her uterus. They performed surgery on her and saved her before anything severe happened. She is a happy, healthy dog today and I'm so grateful for their assistance. We moved a little further away but I would still go back there for their services. Thank you again!

  • Veronica Ramirez

I took Gizmo to Joe several times. Each time I was very specific of the type of cut, he is a Schnoodle, and everytime it was way too short. The last time he completely shaved his hair, I did not recognize him when they brought him out. I had to call out to him to know he was really my Gizmo. After taking him home, he was super itchy with irritated skin. He sat and would look at me and whine, I know something was wrong. I called Joe back and he stated it was the season. I cannot accept that as Gizmo gets groomed throughout all seasons. Joe did seem to care at all and I have never gone back and will never go back again.

  • Tammy Daniels

I had an appointment today at 5:00 for the doctor to look at a loose tooth in my boxers mouth. I called at 4:48 to let them know I was in the parking lot as instructed and was put on hold for over 20 min. I hung up and called again and they said they would be right out with paperwork and to get my girl. I waited for over 1/2 hour. . They did not even have the decency to call and let me know they were running late. I ended up leaving and making an appointment at another office. If this is how this doctor and staff treat someone for a first visit, I surely will not trust them with my dog......

  • Elisa Perron

That best caring staff ever, starting at the front desk! The Joe’s bathed and groomed Charlie, our handsome boy looks like he’s a cute puppy again! They were so sweet to him and made me truly feel like he was in the best care possible!! Best groomers in town! Dr. Curd and her team met with us a few weeks ago to get a second opinion with our boy’s tumor located just under his ear. They completely made this mama feel loved as a parent, and I felt completely comfortable with their knowledge, love and compassion for their fur-patients. We couldn’t be happier with they care!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Liz H

We have been coming to Ellison routinely since we adopted a senior dog in 2020 and they have taken amazing care of her. They have done multiple surgeries on her to remove masts, clean and extract teeth, remove warts, etc and done a phenomenal job each time. They also hospitalized her for multiple days when she got really sick and had some liver issues and I have no doubt they saved her life. Dr. Curd is especially amazing and I know my dog is always in good hands with her. I'm very grateful to the staff at Ellison for taking care of my sweet old lady.

  • Abel Reyes

Very disappointed and upset!!! The first young lady that approached my vehicle was very kind. As my father and I proceeded inside, the young lady told me to go to the room with the open door. As I proceeded to the room this lady Kelly said very rudely "where are u going"? My dog is nearing death and we were to put him asleep and to get that response from her I didn't appreciate that at all!! Next time Kelly u need to ask your other employees questions not me. It was very hard to do what we did to our family pet, but that's unexusable behavior.

  • Marina Martinez

Twas the night before Christmas Eve, and wouldn't you know it...my cat has an eye infection. I called at least 10 vet clinics in the area and no one was accepting appointments. Ellison Drive Animal Hospital was my last hope. They said they had an appointment available the same day at 5PM - the day before Christmas Eve, mind you. The whole visit was curbside, which definitely gave me peace of mind. The vet tech, Ramon, was very friendly and the Dr was extremely knowledgeable. Overall, had an awesome experience and will definitely be back.

  • heather Taylor

I have an older huge hairy dog that needed emergency nail trimming. Due to other health considerations I only wanted this service provided at an animal hospital. My dog is easily frightend by small rooms and the gentleman was more than happy to trim her nails in the huge lobby. The nails were trimmed quickly and efficiently with very little stress. We were traveling and had her records sent from out of state and they saw us the same day as I requested services. I must also add the fee was 75% less than I typically pay for a nail trim.

  • Hilda Govea

Iove coming to Ellison Dr Animal Hospital. I brought my Boy the first time and I was so pleased with the way the staff handled everything. The staff is very welcoming and get respectable and friendly.I did have the pleasure of speaking to the Physician, who explained everything in detail to me. I brought him in for his follow up visit. Tyler assisted my Boy and again the staff employee's are amazing.. I can say that I have found a place to establish my Boy"s Veterinarian home Thank you for taking good care of him. Hilda G

  • Jennifer R

Can I just say how absolutely wonderful the staff is here.. unfortunately our beautiful fur baby Trixie passed away I called them to see if they had any kind of service for cremation which they did everyone was so sympathetic and supportive even though she wasn’t a patient there. They even sent a beautiful card to our home I would highly recommend them. I don’t have enough sweet words for the staff and I just want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you so much because you guys made this horrible experience bearable

  • Alison Brown

Everyone is pleasant but they are not considerate of peoples time. Every time I come I have an extended wait which wouldn’t be annoying if there weren’t technicians standing around talking. Given that most people have to modify they’re work schedules to bring their fur babies in during the week, it would be nice and appreciated if the staff saw the animals within a timely manner. No one should have to sit waiting 40 minutes to be seen. This doesn’t include the actual vet/tech exam.

  • Isabel Moran

Overall great experience. They provide caring service, and are very professional. The staff answered all my questions, and we're very punctual. Words can't quite express how satisfied i am with their services. The reception was great, my tech was great, and my doctor was great. Going over results of bloodwork with the doctor was great, and very informative. I am very pleased with how helpful and informative all the staff are. I will be bringing my pets here from now on.

  • Beth Jalomo

Visited for the first time last week due to my Schnauzer getting sick. They were super sweet and very professional. They answered all my questions and understood all of my concerns. My schnauzer (Mac) is back to being himself. Today I took my Himalayan kitten (Azula) in for their "kitten package" that they are offering right now. Again, we were treated above and beyond. This is now our go to clinic. Highly recommend that you give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

  • Julie Gonzalez

I was looking for a vet near my house that had availability for a same day visit for my German Shepard. The receptionist always answers phone calls right away and is super friendly and helpful. I was nervous about my curbside visit due to COVID, but everyone was so helpful and tried their best explaining everything to the T at my truck window and by phone. Lastly, my visit was super fast and my dog's sypmtoms improved within the next two days. I will be back!

  • SSgt Christopher

We took our dog in to have him neutered and check up. They finished the appointment for the check up and said he was ready for pick up. I verified that he had been neutered and they said not yet. He was next. After they had my dog all day they never neutered him and kept him all day. I called after the pickup to confront them and they said they had a mix up on surgeries today. So if you took your dog in make sure they did the right procedure!!!!!!

  • Tacy Atchison

I've been going to Ellison for several months for all of my animals and they have always been amazing. Recently thought, my puppy was very sick and had to be put down and everyone at both locations were so kind and amazing to us and really helped ease that very hard and painful experience. They even sent out a card after the loss of the puppy and I can't say how much I appreciate that. My animals will keep going to them as long as I live here!

  • Joshua Lira

This place has not good service at all. We came in today on the time we were told our appointment was, 30 minutes later they came and told us it was going to take 5 minutes, 30 minutes passed and we were still waiting, then when they finally see us for a couple of minutes they gave us a $500.00 estimate for something my dog didn’t need. This place will try to gouge your eyes out and the staff has a do not care attitude. Do not trust them!!!

  • iliana bonifacio

They lied about my Vet (Potranco Clinic) no longer seeing patients with ear/UTI infections. That they were the sister branch and could schedule an appointment for me. I did! Big regret! This place is a ripoff, almost $400 later for an ear and urine infection! Meds prescribed didn’t work even after telling them what had worked in the past! I also just spoke to the Potranco Clinic, they do see patients with ear/UTI’s!! Technician was rude!

  • M O O N S

Very respectful and compassionate. My cat died awhile ago and they made the whole cremation process a lot easier to get through. I am very appreciative of the letter they sent giving condolences and of the very flexible schedule I have to work with to pick up my pet's ashes. Truly very thankful that they were so helpful and understanding and that they answered any questions I had whenever I called them. Overall a good place!

  • Johnny Ramos

Do not bring your animal here. I wanted to find a nice place to bring my dogs, but this is not the place. They will charge you for anything and everything possible. They called me twice to try and add more to the bill. I got my chocolate lab spayed and she is not in heat or pregnant, but they still charged because they had to take “extra precautions.” This place will up charge you on everything. Save yourself the trouble.

  • Renee Cook

It's ok except for booking appointments, I do this online for my convenience. We took our dog fora monthly shot as usual. But before we got it in our checkbook, they had already emailed an appointment for next month. We where not to happy, so I made an appointment around our hours and day that we where available. We still haven't gotten an confirmation for that time, guess we are looking for another vet and groomer.

  • Terry Lipscomb

Bruno, my cocker spaniel, had his first appointment at Ellison Drive vet. He was a little nervous at first, but the doctor and staff put him at ease. The doctor was very thorough and knowledgable of the breed. The Vet even offered a package that took care of all his shots ( including a 3-yr. rabies) for a nominal fee. I was extremely pleased with their services and professionalism. Here's Bruno with his happy face

  • Stephanie Anderson

We took in a stray a few months ago and she turned out to have parvo. They took very good care of her and handled my twice-a-day calls to check up on her very well :) The staff is always very friendly and happy to answer any questions. They are a bit pricey I think (although I've never owned a puppy so I don't know what the going rate usually is), but for the service & care they give to the pets, it's worth it.

  • Louis Perez

I been taking my dog there for years now and never had a problem. Always nice there and they explain everything to me. I don't know whats up with the negative reviews I certainly never experienced that stuff. I would recommend it to people. It's a little bit pricier than some places but if you complain about the price then you shouldn't have pets! I mean pets get sick and need care just like you do.

  • Maryann Elkareh

I am so grateful for this Animal Hospital. I recently suffered a stroke and cannot walk to bring my little dog inside. The ladies that assist the Doctor,... come out to my car and take her inside to get her nails trimmed. That's really going above their call of duty. Lexie actually looks forward to her trips to the Doctor now and they do a great job ! I am eternally grateful for their caring way's.

  • Elizabeth Huerta

Do not come here! They are trying to get more money from you! They tell you a price and by pickup they have you paying more than what they told you with no other testings done. I honestly don’t think they did any thing to her. It seems like they just had her in her cage up until pick up and just told us nothing was wrong with her. Extremely annoyed had to pay $200 for absolutely NOTHING!!

  • Rebecca Currier

I wish it was under better circumstances that they would have been able to meet my rat, Octavia. But throughout my difficult time, they were very supportive and lovely. I'm extremely grateful. They have left a lasting impression and in the future, I'll be bringing my other rats for checkups, etc. They gained a repeat customer. Photo of my girl Octavia for better light. (not taken there.)

  • Jenny Rodriguez

Amazing!! My vet was full but our pup got into something that made him very sick. We were seen immediately and the vet spent more time with us than we've ever had happen. Took excellent care of our pup and he is on the mend. Highly recommended this place. Great care and really good prices especially considering it was an emergency. Thank you all so much! You guys are our heros!

  • oscar escamilla

They are great to tend to your pet quickly but x-rays are excessively priced. About 200.00 each ex-ray view and they don't interpret them there. They have to send them off to an orthopedic expert. Also, if something happens to your pet while under their care they will charge you 300 to 600 dollars to resicitate your pet. You of course can sign a directive not to resicitate.

  • XxFandom FirexX

They were decently quick to take in my cat that had gotten hit by a car, but there's a lady with blonde hair named Kelli I think that was so unsympathetic while helping me at the front. While checking me in, checking me out, and taking my payment, I didn't like her attitude. Not much could be done for my cat before they sent me to a horrible 24/7 "ICU" emergency vet.

  • Julie Tucker

They charged me $900 for treating a ear infection and never gave me the option of medication. My Amy is a pain and needs to be sedated for most work. Also they would not give me a prescription for her allergy medication that they charged $84 for and I can get at Costco for $54. Trimmed all her nails down to the quick. They can't seem to keep vets. I want one vet.

  • mitchell molina

I had rescued a pup from a shelter so I was new to a lot of this and they helped me so much in making sure my dog was healthy and up to date on everything. Every receptionist I’ve talked to was super helpful and most importantly the vet techs took care of my dog and made him feel comfortable which was all I wanted for him after everything he has been through.

  • R. Shadow Lopez

Took my Brat cat for check up & cried. They assured me it was not on me. She getting older and it's natural. Friendly staff and helpful. Made me feel better as a parent of a pretty kitty. My b day is May 10th and hers is May 15th. Go Taurus babies go!!! Thank you all. And just a friendly reminder in case nobody's told y'all this week. Y'all are appreciated.

  • Fancy Starr

Wonderful and very nice staff. I bought the puppy package. The whole experience was satisfying and my baby puppy was completely taken care of. Everything is done while you wait in your car. The techs come pick up the pet, the vet calls you while they have the pet and examined it, they bring the pet back and then you pay. They price was great. 5 stars easy.

  • Melissa Rose Tavery (Mrs. Tavery)

Tyler was the technician that took my dogs in to see the Veterinarian. He did a wonderful job and was very nice. They all took good care of my furbabies and were very informative about the care they received. I am thankful for their compassion and care. I will be taking my pets to them in the future and will definitely recommend them to anyone.

  • Lindsey White

Our vet tech was Victoria. We have a very neurotic/nervous border collie and she was so sweet and patient with him when she got him from the car. He didn't bark or growl at her at all which is honestly a first. If my dog trusts them, I do too. The vet was also really sweet and answered all my questions. Very excited to have them as our new vet!

  • Suzie Lee

This place is horrible. They do not care about the wellness of your pet. They rack up charges and try to add on whatever service they can to milk money out of you. Their customer service is horrible and all they care about is money and judge the heck out of you when you question them about why the cost is too high. Will not be going back.

  • Liza Chermak

I am so surprised that I was able to find a vet that grooms my babies AND takes care of their medical needs. We went out of town for a weekend so they were able to board them and get all their check ups along with grooming. They are so nice and everyone there cares about the pups. Thank you for everything. Will be taking my pups here :)

  • Anjel Clark

I love the doctor and staff here. My only issue is that they don't release prescriptions in order for you to buy your pets medication at cheaper prices. You have to go through either their pharmacy or their office. They wouldn't even do a price match. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say. They were amazing with my dog. …

  • Kevo Cullins

Never coming back. Horrible service. Had an (non-drop off) appointment at 4:30. Was there until 6:00 waiting in my car for them to complete everything, and just said screw it and left after they took +15 minutes to figure if I had a card on file. I would've just done a drop off appointment if I knew it was gonna be THIS much of a wait.

  • Patrick Mullen

Had set appointment time for simply dropping off for boarding and it took almost 30 minutes...they don't allow entrance to the building, they have you call their main number to let them know you are there which isn't answered by a person and then it took 12 minutes for them to come out to start the paperwork. Very aggravating process.

  • Brandon H.

Unorganized and they also told us a rabies vaccine is normally $25 but today it’s $35 due to biohazard disposal fees. Seriously, what do you do with the needles when it’s not $35. They are primarily focused on sales (food and tick meds) and come up with an estimate to even look at your animal. It’s a silly car sales like experience.

  • Jennifer Tobbon

This was a Very pleasant surprise. Location was clean and organized, staff was super friendly knowledgeable and willing to help as soon as i said I needed it. Services were professional and affordable. O think I found a forever animal clinic. Thank you all for the outstanding service today and how you took care of my Honey Girl.

  • Linda Mary

Tyler was great and treated my dog with efficiency and let me know what was happening during the whole process. Also Dr Rosenauer let me know exactly what was going on and let me know just how to treat her. It was a great experience and i highly recommend Ellison Pet Hospital and will be bringing all my animals to them.

Watched a beautiful doggo get hit by a truck. Never even slowed down. 3 vehicles stopped for him and we all worked together to get him to this hospital and cover the bill. But it’s truly thanks to them that he is still here and a happy pup today. I can’t thank them enough. Amazing place and they all have huge hearts.

Love the staff and how they treat my pets. Cat was peeing blood and they had him all fixed up within a week. They even prescribed him food and he loves it. Yearly checkups are easy and priced really nicely. They answer all my questions and concerns. Even took new pup to them. Would definitely recommend them :)

This vet is awesome with pets and has a friendly, helpful staff. Unfortuneately, they are a victim of their own sucess. They get so busy that they often have trouble anwsering the phone and have long wait times to check out. I think they hired a new person recently so it has gotten better this past month.

Ellison Drive Animal Hospital has always taken care of my boy. I’ve been taking my fur baby here for years. A couple of months ago, he had surgery. It went smoothly and recovered quickly. They are very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Ellison Drive Animal Hospital for taking care of my fur baby!

If I could give less I would. Beware you can only buy meds from them if your dog needs medication. They will not write you a prescription to go buy elsewhere. Didn’t mention any of this until after I had already spent money on all the testing. My bad for not asking but seems like this shouldn’t be legal.

This place has been around since i was a child. I have been here a handful of times and my experience was always a positive one. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The lobby is not open. Due to covid you call and a technician comes out to pickup/drop off your animal. I personally prefer it that way.

Took in my baby cockatiel with a broken leg and they where so helpful and professional. Treated her like if she was there own took her in right away and helped her out. The place is very clean and doesn't smell like other offices that was a big WOW for me. The staff is very friendly and professional.

Some of the procedures can be expensive, which is understandable as a veterinary hospital. However, they take care of your pet(s)! They groom dogs well, they have wide availability of appointments, their services on dog cremation are superb, etc. I trust this vet as they care for what they do.

Was quoted one price on the phone and it was more than double once I got to the office. I felt like I was being charged for things my Dog didn't need but they "felt" like she did. The staff was great and you can tell they are good with the animals, sadly I will not do business here.

This place is great! They took care of my puppy when she was sick with a terminal disease. Everyone was so sweet to her and I could tell she was in good hands. The prices aren't too bad when compared to other places in the city. Will be using them again in the future. R.I.P. Preta

I have been bringing my dog here since 2010. I Love this place, they are so good with my dog. She regularly goes for grooming by Joe, you won't be disappointed, he's amazing! The vet and staff are very friendly and loving with your pets. They also provide boarding if needed.

Took my new dog to get her first round of shots and the staff was so kind. They held the paperwork while I found a spot to put my baby dog down from carrying her. During the actual doctor visit they were clear and concise explaining every step to me on what would happen.

DR. Curd and the staff are so helpful and friendly! TOok my Figaro in because he was having GI problems. It took a while for him to get back on "track" and himself again! Thank you to everyone who helped get him better! I have full and complete trust in ya'll!

Thank you so much for helping our Belén today! Our little girl was sick and you guys got her in right away. My husband took her and he said your whole staff was awesome! She ate the canned food we received from you and napping now. Thank you so much again!!

Their prices are not negotiable BUT they are competitive! After comparing prices with other local pet clinics, Ellison Hospital was usually in the same range or just slightly above other clinics by a few dollars! They also allow drop off of

Not worth it, they don't work well with customers, and they usually give my gparents a senior discount, they want $198 for annual for bravexto, rabies, well exam, parasite exam, annual booster, heartworm screen. And she really couldn't give

I had an appointment at four and I got there ten minutes early. I was the only customer waiting to been seen in the waiting area. I filed out the paper work and waited, and waited and waited. By 4:30 I was frustrated and asked one of the

The groomer there SUCKS just take your dogs to petco or PetSmart they charge way less and don’t complain over 2 knots. Not only that but my dogs always come with their tail tucked after that old hag does their hair. Never take them here.

  • Tessa Belyeu

I usually take my babies to Potranco Vet Clinic but once one of my fur babies needed surgery & we came here. Ever since they are great. Very responsive & answer any questions you may have. My boys have been very well taken care of here.

Don't go here!! I scheduled an appt to have a lump removed from my dogs back because they told me they could do it same day...6 hrs later they call to say they have done nothing and ask approval for $900 in tests so they can schedule a
