Stayed for 3 nights for a very large convention. I will say considering the hotel I'm fairly sure was booked to capacity they handled the influx like pros. I would definitely book here again if I had work in the area. The housekeeping staff were top notch. The lobby was packed most hours of the day and not once did I see a mess. To be honest they had the tact and politeness of a top tier restaurant wait staff, and moved with utmost urgency to keep all of the public areas clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. Valet service didn't quite live up to the rest of the staff. Don't get me wrong they moved the cars well enough but the rest of the staff were quick to greet and answer questions but the valet staff were present but less engaged. I'd say it's perfectly possible they were overwhelmed and when approached perfectly pleasant.

Rooms were a bit mixed. Carpet had a bit of damage at a transition, from the lounge space into the kitchenette. A drywall repair on the ceiling that could have been done a bit better was pretty noticable. The rooms definitely could have been better sound proofed, my room was several doors away from the elevators but I could hear them in the bedroom and main lounging area. That said the positives definitely outweighed the down sides. There are lot of amenities mini fridge, coffee maker, iron and most of the conveniences you need on a business trip. The rooms were spacious comfortable had ample places to sit without having to use a bed. You could easily have a business or social gathering without it being awkward or uncomfortable because the lounging/business area was completely separate from the bedroom. A nice desk area to work, welll decorated rooms, and USB and and outlets in every room so you can charge and hook up the many devices we need, to do business on the go. The beds were immaculate and comfortable.
Nearby activities
Location is excellent. A variety of restaurants and activities all around. Access to a local trolly if you want to travel further is conveniently right outside the main entrance. Direct and safe access to the convention center via an elevated cross walk is a great touch. The arena is within a block for any concerts or events and can be accessed within 5 minutes via a walk.

Edit: PLEASE read until the end. Even before the drive and check in, the man I spoke to over the phone regarding their pet policy was very friendly. We chose not to use Valet (business trip and given the reviews felt it’d be more time consuming and expensive) but there is a parking garage right next door for $2 an hour. I was actually surprised and happy to see the hotel staff greet us and our shy/awkward dog (he even got a treat and tried to start working behind the counter for more). And the valet workers seemed friendly as well. However the rooms could def use a bit of tlc. The ice bucket looked dirty and rough, which if there were dish soap I wouldn’t mind too much tbh. Mini fridge did not get cold at all, and there wasn’t any visible way to change that. The bathroom walls did peel, toilet paper holder keeps falling off. Coffee table in the “living room” was cracked, broken and at an angle. Light over the bathtub didn’t work and the bathtub itself did look a bit older. The carpet had its sticky spots for sure, and the closet hangers even saw better days. All the doors including the bathroom felt warped and was a struggle to close all the way. Also the reusable soaps are a wonderful idea but I can’t help but be reminded they aren’t at least wiped down or checked considering there were stains on the bottles itself (and using a reusable hand soap dispenser just felt gross imo) The staff were super welcoming though so I really want to enjoy this stay. However the morning of our checkout we spotted our first roach we’ve seen since being here for three days and we’re all the way up on the 18th floor. Every time we used the shower we’d get into horrible sneezing fits, eyes watery and our throats scratchy. After some research I hope it’s not but it may be Legionella. PLEASE USE CAUTION.The breakfast was good, staff was incredible and super genuine but housekeeping and the roach problem needs to be more looked into.

This hotel had a planned fire alarm test at 8 a.m. during my stay but did not warn its guests. If you have a room on a high floor at this hotel, and the hotel is busy, plan for lots of time to get up to the room. There are only 4 elevators and they are slow. Also, good to know if you like to set the temperature of the AC in your own hotel room, as most do: The hotel also temperature controls the rooms for "energy efficiency," (aka cost efficiency to them) and you cannot get the temperature control off without asking the staff to have a maintenance person come do it for you. Apparently paying for a hotel doesn't warrant you to control your own AC. (Long story short, if you're staying in this hotel and want to control your AC, you may want to call ahead and ask them to turn off the temp control in your room) The location is good, but there's lots of better and more updated hotels just a stone's throw away. Don't waste your money here like I did.

It's just not everything it says it is. The room layouts are nice and they're clean. We stay here frequently because of the location alone because the parking is ridiculous at $37 a day! Also, the breakfast used to be top notch, but it's really gone downhill lately, as well as the evening social. They seem to not care about putting out quality products, more just that they put anything out. I will say though that when we had an issue with our room and had to switch 2 times that stay (4 night stay so very inconvenient) the manager, Jose, handled it very well and offered a solution that worked well enough for all parties.

The hotel has no parking… so you have to valet or use public parking garage that you have to pay for. My main issue was the valet service. They charged me $40 to park the night I got there at 8 o’clock and told me I could stay there the next day while going to my convention. The next morning I was escorted to my car to put luggage away and then asked if I could keep my car there even though I was checked out of the hotel. They said yes no problem we will keep it here and it still counts as the same day. When I went back to the garage to pick up my car they said it was 3 o’clock and after 3 they charge for another full day… that was another $40 that I did not expect to have to pay and wish I would’ve been told this so I could park elsewhere. I felt robbed and it really put a bad taste on the whole trip.

Best thing is the location. Breakfast was pretty so so. Would not extend my checkout even one hour as if they where going to clean 200 rooms in 30 minutes or something. So management doesn't know what they are doing. Run down a bit and the parking is terrible and expensive. The text system never worked once, so always waited to get the car. And this is how they treated a Diamond member so I can't imagine just a person that gets a hotel once and a while how they treat them. Because they sure didn't seem to care! Picture is a view from the room. Location is great if you need the convention center.

Stayed the night for a concert nearby, very satisfied with the room. It was clean, A/C worked great (we like it cold), good water pressure in the shower, and an incredible view of the water. One elevator was out of service at the time so making it up to our room on the 20th floor took some time but there could be worse issues. Breakfast the next morning was awesome! Made to order eggs/omelets, a waffle station, and lots of fruits and breakfast meats.

My stay was very comfortable. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast provided was filling and the complimentary bar was a great touch. The A/C was perfect, the rooms were clean, plenty of towels provided, tv's were large. Only downsides: the beds were not very comfortable, extremely firm and pillows didn't hold shape as they ended up very flat. The pool is small, located on the 3rd floor which only got sun for 1/4 of the day and the water was warm...like bath water, so I didn't use it after the first plunge. Otherwise, a wonderful stay and was happy with the location. Thank you.

The location is great for all the downtown events. They only have valet parking so be prepared for $37 a night parking. Also the valet at checkin in time 4pm, is crazy busy…it took about 30 min to get the car dropped off! Two of the four elevators were out of service making checkout another nightmare experience. The pluses: the room was super clean and spacious (Corner Room with a view), very quiet, and the breakfast was a last a large spread and fresh! We will be back!

Spent the weekend there to see a concert at the Amelie Arena. I cannot say enough about this hotel from the check-in to checkout. Everything from the food to the rooms and the short walk to the arena was amazing. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was for the almost $40 per day parking fee and the 4 elevators which is not enough for a hotel of this size. When we walked in from the concert we had to wait quite a while on line to get to our room. All in all a wonderful weekend stay.

Our family trip to Embassy Suites in downtown Tampa was an amazing time. We loved our stay at the hotel and all staff especially meeting Jose! He made our family feel welcomed and made our stay there for 3 nights fantastic. Jose is a great front desk manager and ensured everything went well and looked after our family. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the near future, thanks for everything!

Great location to downtown/Amalie. Annoying to have to pay $37 resort fee and while trying to enjoy the evening reception be hassled by a timeshare seller. 14th floor and heard a lot of road noise from nearby highways. Mold in the shower, not sure if that's the reason my girlfriend slipped but shower floor was slimy. Couldn't get the TV to come on, floors and even the carpets were sticky. Hotel itself was quiet. Paul at the front bar was awesome

Hands down the best hotel I’ve been to! Great rooms, amazing view but my favorite part was the customer service. Joshua was at the front desk and he was by far the best night auditorium could’ve gotten, we got the hotel after a long drive, We came down to the lobby and he gave us the best experience we could’ve had. He was very sweet, had such a positive attitude, and was so knowledgeable, I hope next time I come he can be there to provide help! Made my entire weekend..

The rooms were nice. The staff was nice, but I'm not sure they keep up on their elevator maintenance. One of the 4 elevators was out the first day, and the second day, two were out of service. The 3rd day, three were out of service. Then they had fixed one of them, then the 4th one stopped working. There was a lot of wasted time waiting for elevators. Also, the pool was closed for all 5 days because they needed parts.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very pleasant and responsive. The rooms could have been better and had more amenities that I have found in other Embassy Suites. Finding consistent cab service was also difficult. The food in the Restaurant/Bar was top-notch!

My bartender/server Dylan, was by far the best! He was personable, understanding, enjoyable and made our experience top notch. From start to finish he was on top of everything and timing was very efficient. If you get the opportunity to have him as your server, your experience will be one of a kind. Will be coming back, 100% recommend

Usually Stay here pre cruise. They had a big convention and apparently exceeded their capacity with many many people in the rooms. Breakfast was a zoo. Elevators are sloooow. We ended up taking the stairs. Not a good experience for the points it cost. Never again!

I surprised my partner with a 7h stay at this exotic hotel in their balcony bay suite - during an airport layover (better than sleeping on an airport floor, no?). We were amazed by the service, fresh food, and sparkling views. I wish we could have stayed longer but we will definitely have to return!
