Energy Crew are unprofessional, unreliable amateurs. Hiring them cost me thousands of dollars to move my one-bedroom apartment. Avoid them at all cost and hire someone else. Here are the details of experience... I hired Energy Crew to move my one-bedroom apartment in July 2021. I provided a detailed description of my contents and received a quote of about $650 after tax for 4-6 hours of work. Energy Crew is Treigh Pugh. We spoke several times by email and by phone in order to make sure every detail of my move was clear and confirmed. In the weeks leading up to my move, there was an additional stop added to pick up a couch from a friend’s home. Treigh confirmed the movers would begin at my friend’s home at 9am, picking up a couch, then continuing to my apartment to load everything and then move it to a location downtown. On moving day, Energy Crew arrived at my address 15 minutes late. Treigh Pugh was there and in charge, along with a man and a teenage boy. I asked if they had any difficulty picking up the couch and Treigh was confused. After refreshing his memory, he apologized and admitted he had forgotten our conversations over the phone and by email to pick up the couch. I spoke with my friend and instructed Treigh to pick up the couch on the way to my condo downtown, after the loading process of my belongings was finished, making the couch the last thing to pick up instead of the first. It took three movers 4+ hours to load my items in the truck, which was the low end of their initial quote's time for the entire job. They finished loading my belongings into their truck - which was completely full. There was no room for the couch Also, the teenage boy among the Crew remained mostly unmasked while indoors. They took a break after arriving at my new home. Then they proceeded to do a mediocre job moving my belongings. Using their wheeled carts (‘dollies’) they hit and damaged the walls all along my hallway between the elevator and the unit. I put down a $300 security deposit, and the building's concierge inspected the areas between the movers’ truck and my unit before and after the move, then reports any damage to building management. More on that later. Upon finishing after 3+ hours of work unloading the truck, it was past 5 p.m. and the Energy Crew were ready to pick up the couch. It took them an hour, almost all travel time that I had to pay for. My concierge pointed out that there was damage to the walls in the hallway that was caused by Energy Crew which would almost surely mean my $300 damage deposit would not be returned. He simply said to me, “Don’t pay these men.” I felt like I had no choice. These two men and a teenager hovered over me holding a makeshift cell phone on which I was being told to pay up more than twice the amount I was quoted weeks earlier. I felt intimidated and pressured. I paid them $1600 that day. They left and I was unbelievably relieved that the day was over, having taken Energy Crew more than twice as long and twice as much as they had quoted me. A week later, I reached out to Energy Crew. The details of just about everything mentioned above was shared in an email, plus I had somehow lost a lamp in the moving process. After some back and forth, Treigh (still the only person employed at Energy Crew, to my understanding) decided to credit me $100 refunded to my credit card. I explained that I had yet to receive an estimate from my building on the damage to the hallway, which I’d be happy to share as soon as I could. I expected more compensation for that damage. After weeks of back and forth between myself, my building management, and Treigh from Energy Crew, I finally received a written estimate on October 5. The damage estimate was $850. I shared it by email with Treigh immediately. I followed up three times over six weeks and never heard from him again. My original estimate was $650 - and ended up being $1600. Plus, Energy Crew caused $850 in damage. Minus the small $100 refund – all told, that adds up to approximately $2350 to move a one-bedroom apartment.

*Update* My issue was resolved in Oct 2017 shortly after my original review. Thank you Treigh for your assistance and resolving my claim. Regrettably, I am unable to share a positive review at this time. Leading up to the move in Aug 2017, the company was quite responsive and readily able to set up my move. I received an email quote almost instantly and was able to plan my move via email with Treigh quite easily. Oddly enough, when my movers showed up, 2 persons not 3 as advertised, the first question they asked me was why did I choose Energy Crew given the mediocre reviews online. I told them I had a pleasant experience setting up the move and having my date accommodated and that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. During the move one of my items was damaged. I received an email the day after my move asking me to write a Homestars review or to reach out to the company if there were any issues. My move was 3 weeks ago. In that time I have sent several emails and left several voicemails concerning my damanged property with no response from Treigh or any other Energy Crew staff. On one subsequent occasion, I was able to speak with Treigh and was told I would be forwarded a claims form by email right away, this never happened and since then I have been unable to reach the company for help. I am disappointed by how I have been ignored. The movers were friendly and I had paid my invoice promptly. Insurance was included with the move and it is disheartening to feel that this company is taking advantage of a customer by refusing my right to make a claim.

I think it largely depends on the movers you get because this company came highly recommended but I would never recommend them. Originally my move was booked for the wrong day. But mitigated with no issue. Two stars because they showed up on time. Two stars because they were the slowest movers I’ve ever had. I was quoted for 3 hours and it took over 4. The day was snowy and they were not wearing appropriate shoes and thus were extremely slow moving items in. It was also obvious that they were taking their time so as to charge me more and had no incentive to move at a better pace. There was no ‘energy’ with this crew. I was reluctant to start moving things myself but ended up doing so. When I addressed this they said that I shouldn’t have asked them to move things upstairs (1 flight in an 800 sqft home) for it to be faster. Not worth taking a chance with them. Go elsewhere and ensure they are physically up for the task and have appropriate shoes. What an expensive mistake. UPDATE: even though I received a response here I have not received any responses to my emails to the company.

This was our second move with Energy Crew and we reamin completely satisfied with the service we recieved. Our crew moved us from a conventional apartment building with an elevator to a 2nd floor walk up without an elevator on a very hot an humid day. The worked quickly and never complined once. They were careful with our very heavy vintage furniture pieces and navigated the narrow stiarwell with expert percision. The lead mover Frankie was a consumate professional, both gentlemen were lovely coruteous and worked hard in challening conditions . The estimate was slightly lower than the final bill, but still far less than the other quotes I recieved for this move. The service we have recieved to date, be it support from Treigh in the office to the service provided by the moving crews themselves, have been excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend Energy Crew!

I was recommended by a friend, and we have done 3 moves with energy. The crew were always professional, careful, and on time (twice they were early and called me to ask if I wanted to start early) They used padding protection on some items in the truck and in the home to protect counters, and incredibly there are zero scuffs and scratches on any walls- I just painted my place so I can see any and all markings. The most impressive was them moving a huge couch down a narrow stairs and having to lift it over kitchen counters to enter the stairway- it was a tight corner. Again, no scuffs on any surface. This is the first time I have read the reviews online so am surprised to see mixed reviews. My experience has been excellent, and I would hire energy again in the future. The 3 moves were all in the past 12 months- the most recent move was last week.

We used Energy Crew in 2014 and they were great. Not sure if the ownership or management has changed, but we used them again for a move last month and it was a truly horrible experience. The lead mover was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. He insisted that the stair railing and door had to be removed in order to move our sofa out, despite it being brought into the space in a few minutes without issues. To top it off, he damaged our sofa by dragging it on the floor and walls and when we called the office to address this, they didn't even bother returning our calls. Stay FAR away from this company if you are looking for a professional moving service.

I had a moved scheduled for today at 9 am. It is now 10:40 am and Energy Crew has left us in the lurch and not shown up for our move despite confirmation they would be here. Their phone number and email are unresponsive and we have not heard a single thing from them today. We are sitting here waiting to move and have been forced to scramble to an alternative the day of at an inflated rate due to their unprofessionalism, poor quality and lack of response. On what is already a very stressful day, I urge you not to go with Energy Crew as you could be left in the same situation.

I have used Energy Crew many times. Every time I use them the movers are competent, strong, and polite. Other movers I've used might complain if something is very difficult, or a tight squeeze, and there are uncomfortable moments while they fumble around or you have to wait for them to figure something out -- but you will not hear a peep out of Energy Crew. They seem to know how to do almost everything - taking things apart swiftly, turning things around corners with ease. In my opinion using Energy Crew is a reliable and smooth experience. Highly recommend.

I've been seeing a lot of negative reviews about Energy Crew and I can't speak on those experiences. I can only speak of mine, and I must say that I'm truly happy to have chosen them. The 2 movers were very efficient and took great care of our items that were very fragile. I usually rent a truck and get some friends to help when I move, so I had my reservations on hiring movers, but I'm so glad I did and would recommend Energy Crew to anyone. Great price and value. The movers were friendly and ensured us that nothing would be damaged. Great job!

I have used Energy Crew twice. The first time ~5 years ago and most recently this month for my move. Moving from a condo to condo is stressful due to the complication of elevator bookings so it's very important to have prompt movers. Treigh and his team showed up 10 minutes before our scheduled time. They moved all my belongings from my unit to the truck in just 2 hrs and were equally has efficient when moving from the truck to my new place. I would recommend anyone to hire Enery Crew; the price is very competitive.

I have used these guys three times now and they are great! Professional, friendly and they never seem to run out of energy. They have never broken anything and are always pleasant. You get what you pay for and they are worth every penny. Both my sister and I would never use another company and I recommend them to everyone. Also I have a lot of stuff and they never seem really bummed out by that despite the fact that I have used them in snow, brutal heat and pouring rain.

My girlfriend and I hired Energy Crew mostly because of the promotion they had going where they added an extra mover at no cost. The guys arrived on time, and packed up our two bedroom apartment in under an hour. Two hours later, everything was in our new place and they were gone. Hassle-free experience, good workers, and a HUGE bargain - about half of price of the other movers' estimates. For that reason, I wouldn't hesitate at all to contact Energy Crew again.

This is the third time we have used Treigh and his excellent team... this time for a household move to a town 200 km. from Toronto. We couldn't be happier. He is one of the most responsible business people we have ever hired from ALL professions. The rates are VERY reasonable and the team was prompt, exceptionally hard working and careful. We’ve used Energy Crew 3 times now moves within Toronto and I cannot recommend them enough. Not only are they timely, efficient, and professional, but they’re so friendly, personable, and made a very stressful experience so manageable. These guys are the best movers on the planet!
