I LOVE THESE PEOPLE, so I'm going to write a novel of a review. I've always struggled with renting a car in NYC. I've tried everything... renting at JFK/LGA, renting at the AVIS nearby, Getaround, Hotwire, etc. I'm so happy I finally discovered this location of Enterprise which is an 8min walk from where I live. They blow every other car rental option out of the water completely: - There's never a wait - They truly value customer service & putting the customer first - Their cars are great and reasonably priced - Their employees actually care and are all above-average nice - No crazy hidden fees or toll-related fees The first time I rented here, I was late returning the car due to crazy flooding, and they were understanding of the situation and did not charge me a late fee. Thank you!!!! The second time, I arrived and realized that I had forgotten to actually make a reservation. All their cars were reserved. But before I could start freaking out, they let me know they had one car they weren't planning on renting bc it smelled of smoke. They offered this to me, which of course I accepted, and I was SO GRATEFUL they made it work at the literal last minute. The car was super new and nice aside from the smell. This is the kind of customer-centric flexibility that is hard-to-find with a lot of national-level companies, especially in the Godforsaken car rental industry. This really sets this location apart from the competition. I guess the one downside is that they have limited hours, esp. on weekends, and you can't drop off when they're closed. But it's not a big deal to park on Atlantic overnight and drive the car back in the morning (if you're local). Please never change!! I will be a loyal customer for as long as I live in this neighborhood!! Thank you for making it fairly painless to visit my family in NJ, get away for a weekend trip, etc.

This locations customer service is my favorite of any company in NYC. Always been an exclusive fan of enterprise because of their customer service but I have become such a super fan of this location for a few reasons. First, every team member Ive had the pleasure of interacting with over the last year has been friendly beyond belief. The second reason I love them is that they go above and beyond if something ever happens and that is the true mark of great CS. The third is that they are incredibly proactive and I love the day-before confirmation call from a real person at that branch. Fourth: It really seems like they have. a tight squad over there, everyones always working well together and moving quickly. Fifth reason: one time I returned the car and forgot to give the keys back and while I returned them few minutes later, theyre still kind enough to allow me to continue to rent from them This location is not the closest to me, and while I love my local (wburg), I still take the extra long taxi to come a bit further to these guys for the service. So, It took me many weeks to write the review, but here goes. I was in NYC during Hurricane Irma this year. I'm from Florida and we yad the trip planned for months and we were greatful when our plane actuallyeft to NYC(lots of flights got cancelled during this time).Unfortunately, JetBlue stranded us on our flight from NYC to FL. Also, this bappened the day of our flight. So, in a panic, we wrighed all options. Other airlines, public transit and evem a train! Lastly, we checked Enterprise. The rate wqs too good to be true for a 1 way ride. I checked the reviews and made the reservation. Once I walked in, I was tqken care of by 2 outstanding people. Mind you, we felt liked whipped dogs at this point, scared about the ahurricane,scared as we didnt know hiw our home was and Enterprise really made us feel safe and cared for, something you almost ever see now-A-days. I believe one was named Angel and the otjer yiubgady, I dont recall...but yes, i ABSOLUTELY recommend these guys. They're small, efficient, nice and I wish them nothing but sucess

Made a rental reservation on 12/13 at 11am. Location at State St is a 3min walk from my apartment. Pick up was for 11:45am. When I arrived I was approached by a female employee who said previous scheduled reservations would be distributed 1st; understandably. I told the employee the need for the car rental was urgent because I needed to be at a GENDER REVEAL in Connecticut by 3pm. She assured me that she would CALL me between 12:30pm & 1pm. Unbeknownst to me they close at 1pm. Did I get that phone call with an update to potentially have a car or make alternative arrangements? NO. Was there any courtesy given to me? NO. I walk over at 1:05pm and employees are just standing around putting jackets on. I said “hey, I had a reservation for 11:45am and your female co-worker said she would call by 12:30pm-1pm. You don’t see the issue with not calling me to tell me nothing was available?”. His response was “we have nothing here”. I missed the gender reveal. Thanks a lot

I was helped by Kwesi Victor Branch 2493-239 State st. He got me in and out fast in my car of choice. I also spoke to Armondo prior to getting there and he answered all of my questions, very helpful. Prior to this, I traveled to the location at JFK building 69 and it was a nightmare! On Sunday night I spoke to a local rep at the branch that wouldn't answer a simple question. What cars do you have available? All she said is "we have no premium cars at this location and you would just have to come out here to see what's available". After providing her with all of my information including my reservation number...I got there only to have them refuse to give me a car because Geico was paying for it. I wasted $40 on Uber for no reason. I don't know Enterprise's policy when it comes to insurance claims but they need to explain them to everyone at their branches. State st. is my go to location even although I'm too far to get picked up.

I use Enterprise every time I need to take my son back and forth to school. I'm familiar with the representatives and they are familiar with me. I gave them 4 stars because the vehicle I rented on Sept. 8th was a bit dirty on the inside. I know it's Covid and from the wait time (1hr) renting a vehicle is still in high demand so time was short when it came to a full check of the vehicle. The back seat cushion had a white ring around it (water spill I hope) and the back of the Equinox had dog hair. I know because my family is allergic so we unfortunately, had to do the trip without allergy meds. I was unaware that they no longer use the toll pass so that was a bummer but nothing serious. All in all pick up went well, drop off was easy and the customer service is on point . The vehicle itself was in good driving condition. Love the feel of the Equinox.

The lady was very friendly to me and my son. However, I'm very disappointed in the company. I had made a reservation for a one way trip to Buffalo and Oct 31st was the day I came there to get the van. I planned to relocated and that was the last day for me at my residence. The lady told me that debit cards were not accepted for one way trips. I almost had a panic attack as my plans were shattered right there. Enterprise should have told me this ahead of time ahead of time as I was under the impression I could use my debit card which they state on their website. The company as a whole need to send an advanced notification to those who make one way trips that debit cards are not accepted. I was very blessed to find a guy with a van to drive me and my family and our possessions to our new home in Buffalo.

The facility has not fully adapted to COVID-19 standards. In August 2020, I witnessed EnterpriseCar delivering "clean cars", by employees who are not wearing masks? How does this make sense, they clean the car and then they breath all over it again? When I asked about this the Enterprise rep said "well it's hot here, and these guys are working very hard". There is zero signage about mask wearing. There is also confusion about where to stand online outside, because NationalCar is also at this garage. Ask a rep when you get there to find which line is correct, otherwise you might wait for over an hour in the wrong area. Stay safe.

The customer service at this branch is beyond superb. I use enterprise exclusively because they have always had my back over the last 8 years regardless of the pickup or drop off location. However the service at downtown Brooklyn is the best I’ve seen yet. Their manager, Kadeem is the best enterprise ambassador I have had the pleasure of interacting with. His empathy, friendliness and service oriented approach solidifies my exclusive dedication to enterprise forever. To enterprise: you are lucky to have such a great member on your team. The customer service at this branch is hands down the best in the country.

They only accept utilities bills which is very wrong and unfair in my opinion because everyone’s living situation don’t involve utilities.I live in Nycha we don’t have to pay utilities in the projects and I don’t have cable .. so I’m not qualified to enterprises standards to book a car smh .. I would never recommend anyone to book from them it’s a shame .. to bad they contacted me and still did nothing to help me .. the owner had someone reach out to me just to tell me the same thing they been told me .. worst company ever smh .. they get no stars if it’s up to me

Perfect experience! Very friendly and patient staffs. When the car was towed (since I have no idea how NYC works in its parking its definitely awful), the staff tried their best to give me help and help me get through this. I am not even charged the extra hourly fees when the car was driven back to them later than the rental deadline. The staffs are super nice and friendly. Extremely helpful service and good car! PLEASE recommend this store for everyone you know! You cannot expect a more helpful and nicer rental store beside them!

Very rude. Refused to my rental return without knowing all the details and threatened to charge my an extra $200 restocking fee “as they called it”. I called the branch where I rented the car from and they straightened the situation out. Then instead of apologizing, the branch manager blamed me for the whole situation for not knowing their policy. Highly upset and will never ever go to State Street again. Empire and Bedford was very professional and I will contact them from now on even if I have to travel across Brooklyn.

The management at this location leaves a lot to be desired. I returned the car on Monday afternoon. I was told an email would be forthcoming with the receipt. On Friday afternoon I got a call from the manager asking when I returned the car. When I asked why I hadn't gotten a bill emailed yet, he said that he was short staffed. If this is the way all branches do business, I would find a different car rental company. Further, it was a total zoo when I went to pick up and drop off. Something is wrong here!

My experience was good. I just don’t like feeling swindled out of extra money because I don’t have extra money to spend when it’s unnecessary. I was asked if I wanted to be covered by their insurance and I agreed. However, no one explained that my insurance was enough or that the payment for their insurance would come out of my deposit. I don’t rent cars so, I didn’t know. Then they tried to charge me for low gas because it wasn’t on a half tank. Honestly, it wasn’t on half when I got it. Thanks anyway!

Every car I've rented from here has needed some maintenance. The last car we rented needed oil. It was practically bone dry. This latest car had a low tire that had a leak. We eventually had to change the tire. They'll try and up-sell you on roadside assistance. It appears that this is how they maintain their fleet of junk cars. The people that work there are nice and friendly. But that's of little value considering how bad the cars are. Find another place that actually takes care of its cars.

Rented a car weeks in advance, got a call the morning of my pick up where I confirmed that I would need the car. When I showed up to the location, no cars left and they informed me that they had given the car to someone else. No phone call about that, text, email, or anything. Awful service. UPDATE FOUR MONTHS LATER: Enterprise reached out to me, took down my information, and promised to look into it. Then they went silent and didn't do a single thing. Pathetic.

I highly recommend 239 state street Enterprises Rent a Car service.. the Team members are indeed professional. Reserved a small car for 2 days, when I got there the member asked if I am agree to get a mid size car for the same price. Guess what... I got a brand new JEEP/CHER, inside super bright, spotless and amazing! I enjoyed driving the car. Unfortunately, I was late for almost an hour to return the car, no charge at all.

I have used Enterprise on State in Brooklyn on numerous occasions due to my car being repaired - and I can only say that they have been nothing but very service oriented, great cars and overall an extremely positive experience. Recently, I rented from Hertz in Brooklyn and that was a completely different experience - very negative - and it just made Enterprise that much better. Highly recommend them for your rental car.

Not only was a car ready as reserved, I got upgraded to a much nice vehicle at no extra cost. Even better, the check out and drop off were extremely fast and smooth - zero problems - and the staff were friendly and competent. I've been using Zipcar for years, but now I'm going to be using Enterprise since they're actually cheaper and my experience at the State Street (Brooklyn) location was so pleasant.

Really quick and helpful people. When I explained that I had to return the car at an airport in Jersey instead of Brooklyn the guy changed the car and upgraded with no big fuss or extra charge . You can only turn cars into airports if they have less then 20k on them. We got a nice new SUV at same rate. Great car and great service. I'll rent from enterprise again.

The employees are very polite and help you the best way that they can help. If you have any questions, they will answer with accurate information. If they not sure, they will ask another employee, just to make sure they don't give you wrong information. The car is comfortable, they have good prices for decent amount of days and they have good a program.

Our rental experience at Enterprise was smoothe sailing. We had no problems when it came time to pick up. The car was a delight to have for a week. It was reliable. The people at the Enterprise on State Street were top-notch and picking up and returning the rental car was a breeze. Unfortunately, I did receive charges after the return was not properly documented but the customer services reps handled the situation swiftly. The guys were professional and personal at the same time. Some people aren't able to do that it"s a rare quality.And they worked very well together. I will continue to do business with Enterprise but at that location they are really down to earth as opposed to J.F.K they are plastic over there i.e.no hospitality to local renters

Stuck on a Sunday n need a rental well Enterprise on State St was super easy in n out super fast.. Apparently the culture at Enterprise Rent-A-Car is very much customer focused, because, so far, no matter which location I am getting or returning my car, staff is always courteous, friendly, helpful and neat. I came to this location to rent a car after making the reservation at another location. The staff there let me know that it was ok to do so. After, I came back to drop of the car they charged me $50 because of the location change even though they said it was ok. Thieves!

Husband and I rent cars often. This branch tried to charge our card FOUR times. Upon returning the card they kept us at the store for almost an hour while they resolved their screw-up internally. Not sure who runs this place but it’s the absolute worst. Avoid.

Rented a car in June. Did not receive invoice and the company did not refund my deposit. Costumer service sent the invoice after several emails but did not even react on my claim regarding the deposit. We upgraded the car. It was dirty, air-co did not work.

I had booked a reservation for a car and when I got there there were no cars available at all. Since it was a Sunday there were no other locations open and no way for them to get any cars to their locations. I had to end up cancelling my trip.

The car I rented was the Nissan Altima. In the city, the car is fine but on the highway, my foot almost was on the floor while my speed was 80 and up. I had a hard time keeping the speed below 60.
