This experience happened years ago and I never posted a review but I recently told someone about what happened and I thought I should just get on here and say what happened because it was so bad. I picked up a car from a different enterprise. The guy walked it with me and put down that it already had a dent. He gave me the paperwork. So I went to drop the car off at this enterprise when it came time. So i had rented a car a bit later from enterprise for my 2 week Navy training. When I went to pick up the car I was told I was on the do not rent list. I wasn't told why and I just had to scramble to get another rental as it was very late. So I call enterprise after I get back from that to find out what's going on. The lady who was supposed to be helping me ended up dodging me. Few days later I get a letter in the mail saying that enterprise tried to collect money from me for the debt that was already in the car that I dropped off at this enterprise. From what I could tell someone here did not do their due diligence to get the original paperwork from the other enterprise I got the car from and deemed I was at fault for the dent. Despite me having the paperwork I was told by enterprise there was nothing they could do to resolve the issue since the bill had already gone to collections. I was forced to go to the department of consumer affairs to argue my case. Luckily my paperwork that proved the dent was already there was good enough and they forced enterprise to stop the collection. This one star is not only for this enterprise but the company as a whole. I would give 0 if that was possible. Because of this, enterprise is on my do not rent list. By the way no there is nothing I want from enterprise to make up for this. I have seen first hand what kind of people work at enterprise and other people should be made aware

I booked a car through Enterprise national reservations. They said all I needed was I'd and my boarding pass to rent on my company debit card. Apparently this location will not rent to someone that does not have a local address. I offered a higher deposit, etc ... the manager would not do anything to accommodate me. I finally had to rent elsewhere.at the last minute. Because I was already in town and many places were sold out I had no ability to negotiate. So Enterprise forced me into a situation where I had to rent an unsafe and uncomfortable car because they did not honor their agreement. This is especially disappointing since I have been renting cars from them for at least 25 years. So customer loyalty does not matter to these guys either. Because of the delays introduced I had to cancel meetings and will now have to come back to San Jose which means I will have to buy plane tickets again as well as hotel and meal expenses. This delayed revenue which is bad for any business. This was a nightmare scenario at best ;(.

I've left a good review for Enterprise previously but I'm editing to a worse review. I reserved a car at the San Jose location and I reserved a child seat. My son and I were taking the train up to San Jose and would need a car to get around. I got to the location the morning scheduled and they did not have a carseat. They told me they did have my reserve request, but that to get the carseat I'd need to drive to the San Jose Airport to pick it up myself. This is outrageous of course, to ask me to put my 4 year old into a car without a carseat and go to an airport. Dangerous, inconvenient, and zero heads-up until I'm there and in need of a car leaving me in a lurch. So I went to the Enterprise at the SJ Airport and I spoke to a man named Rami who stated he was a regional director and was outraged by this and would be certain that some upper management person would call me to make amends but noone ever called. Enterprise put my 4-year-old son in danger and bait-and-switched on me as far as I'm concerned.

We had rented recently Enterprise car from San Jose downtown for Christmas Holidays. We usually reserve rental car from Enterprise every time for our trips, it was good experience but current experience is not at all expected. We had reservation for intermediate car, at pick up point we received compact car even after they were having full size car. They were forcing us to go with compact cars with same price which we had paid for intermediate. And for full size car, they asked us to pay extra. They left us no choice to go with compact car. We had incident because of that, we had to file police complaint where we again faced complications as assigned car was other than that which was mentioned in Rental Agreement. We had to return compact car to Enterprise SF airport where Enterprise people had to face same issue and wasted our time also. All this time, we did not receive supportive response. We had to end our trip early and fly back.

HORRIBLE AND OVER THIS LOCATION. I called in before hand to make sure that there was an economy or compact available to switch out since the day before there was none available and I had to go to another location to get a car and it was not the one I wanted. The ugliest low and long full size car ever. So I called this location to switch it out and I was told that they do have economy and compact cars available and I said okay I will be there in 15 minutes. I got there in 15 minutes and there were only vans available! So why was I told otherwise! I called the number online for the 282 s Montgomery st location and they told me that perhaps their customer service location took the call. poor communication! Ughhh!!!!!! I will be returning earlier than I originally booked it for and I will be going with another company with better communication and customer service

I arrived amidst car trouble and attempted car theft. I could only hope the Swifties had not drained the rental car supply here as they'd done at the airport. Vivian Huynh branch manager was quite patient with me and the "entirety of my attitude and unrest" given the mornings events. She soldiered us through the questions and led me through to an upgraded rental. Isabel C, then showed me the car which turned out by far better as I'd be dropping my child and her friend off to summer camp in Occidental. Hella far away. The trip was successful, my own car was fixed, it all worked out. Upon return I was offered a ride back by Chuong. That was unforeseen and really needed!! I closed my rideshare app. We talked sports and fishing all the way. Overall, there could not have been a better outcome after the days beginning. Thanks Enterprise.

I’ve been renting cars on the reg from these guys recently and have had nothing but good experiences. Their rates are fairly reasonable, and they have a lengthy grace period on your return time. They’re super flexible on letting you keep the car longer if you need to. I’ve been using the SF Richmond location and the San Jose downtown location..and the service has been great at both. The guys working there are all very laid back and make you feel welcome and comfortable. The check in process is fast and easy if you complete some of the steps online before hand, and drop off is a breeze. I haven’t figured out how their point system works yet..but hoping to receive discounts from it in the future, as I am a regular customer. Will definitely keep using this company for my rental needs ❤️

Staff was friendly and polite. The car performed well and was clean, in good condition. Be aware this location is not as generous with the "we'll pick you up" as I have found other locations to be. You need cannot reserve a pick-up, you need to call an hour in advance. When I called at 7:45 they told me the best they could do was 9am (I was 5 min away). When I knew I was going to be 10 min past closing time to return the car, I called asking them if they could still give me a ride and they said I would have needed to be there by 5:30pm (30 min before closing). The employees were still there in the dark office when I arrived, as I waited alone outside for my uber. A bit disappointing because this pick-up service is why I chose Enterprise.

The Enterprise staff provided exceptional customer service beginning with a reminder call the day before our scheduled reservation date. We arrived about two hours ahead of schedule to pickup our vechile and the staff at San Jose, Montgomery Street office accommodated us with an other vehicle. To our surprise they provided a free upgrade, and got a Camero convertible; we were celebrating our 38th anniversary and the upgrade really made our day. After we returned the vehicle the staff was gracious and friendly. Thank you Angelo, the Manager and other staff. We have rented from Enterprise several times now and the customer service in every instance has been exceptional. We will continue to use Enterprise for our car rental needs. Thank you

OUTSTANDING customer service. My rental experience at this Enterprise branch was superb. I had to rent a car because my own car was in the autobody shop. The branch manager, Diana, was sympathetic to my situation and offered to pick me up from the autobody shop, even though it was outside of their usual pickup area. Everything was in order when I reached thebranch, and I was in and out in no time. Super-efficient. And it was all done with a warm smile on each of your employees faces. I would esp. like to appreciate Diana's proactive help. The lady who picked me up from the autobody shop was also very courteous and she praised Diana's management style. I will certainly rent again from this Enterprise location when I get a chance.

This latest experience was greatly improved from the experience I had previously. They picked me up timely at my worksite, the driver was very courteous/friendly. Upon entering the lobby, they immediately greated me & had my paperwork all in order quickly. I rented a "clean" beautiful red 2014 Chrysler 200 LX, which ran very smooth, obtained fantastic gas milage & took the hills just fine to & from SACTO. The only down side is that the tank was only half full, which I requested a full tank (hard to determine in refueling), which they did so immediately. This did create a little bit of a wait in leaving. In returning the car, it was also a smooth transition. Thus, I ranked them a 4 ****. Thank you Enterprise! Shirley S.

Having so much problem with returning the rental after picking up my car from the body shop. They're quick to call you multiple times to schedule a rental. Took about 3 hours to pick up the rental after I was picked up from the body shop. I was instructed by the body shop to leave the vehicle there and it will be picked up by enterprise after the body shop called enterprise to let them know I dropped the vehicle off. I called to double checked and they have no idea what I was talking about. And instead of helping me he "said you have to call to the other location where it was rented from" instead of helping me and sort it out. Enterprise, all-state insurance, and caliber collison all incompetent.

ENTERPRISE CAR RENTALS is a major auto renting company with varied types of rental vehicles. Some stores are more accommodating than others. I find renting from a store is more "affordable" than teething from Pasadena. I often rent vehicles for business, for total periods of up to a full year. Once a store changes managers, your trade history means little to a new manager. Rates given by of manager are not necessarily given by another. Their ENTERPRISE PLUS card program does NOT support your historic rental rates, and serves only as a customer list for advertising. BUT ... They are no different than any other brand. Get to know your local store, and check with other outlets.

I think this location has sealed the deal for me. I have been a long time hertz customer however enterprise has consistently been beating their rates. Not only that, their customer service is top notch and this location really shines in that aspect. Lexi and Domenika made the pickup and return super easy. The previous renter had returned very close to my pickup so they were cleaning the car when I arrived. It still took less than 15 minutes and they kept me updated the whole time. They also took the time to show me some features of the car that I wasn’t familiar with. I will definitely use this location again any time I am in San Jose; even if it’s not the closest.

The staff were very courteous and helpful and the car worked out very well. If you get a weekend special, pick up after 2-3 PM for a good selection of cars. If you try to pick up the car early, they don't have returns yet from weekday business customers. Then you have the car most of Monday to do those errands if you're car-free or so you can sleep in if you took a weekend trip somewhere within the 300-mile limit. The HIlton location is a satellite of this office so if you want to see the car before renting, you can catch a bus over or have them pick you up. That would also be convenient if you took a train or bus into Diridon Station and have luggage.

5 stars##### I am very impressed with the customer service I received from the Montgomery St. Enterprise location. Brandon was my first contact and gave me specific info that I needed in a very professional manner. I went back to the location prior to my rental date and was worried that we were going over the pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Andrew came to my rescue. He upgraded the rental to a larger SUV for the same price. That's good customer service! When we returned the car we were approached by Vinnie who was extremely charming and helpful. Thanks to you all and we will spread the word about how well we were treated!

Warm welcome. Very helpful and friendly staff. Little unsatisfied with car because it was not clean as I expected. But staff was really cool. Even after returning the car they talked to me so nicely. Looks like we are friends now. One more thing at Airport location if i rent Nissan Sentra or similar I still get lots of options in the same category or I can rent other higher class vehicle. Which was not possible here I got Nissan Sentra only. Other thing I was expecting was full fuel. it was little less then half but the guy wrote it like 1/4th of full. All in all great service. I'll definitely rent again from this place.

I have rented cars from this place for the last 3 months for almost every other weekend and sometimes even more frequently. The last time I rented, I dropped off the car one day before (Friday) my return date (Saturday) and I was charged for two days extra over the weekend. I talked with them on phone and they said that they cleaned all the cars and did not find the minivan on Saturday. It is really frustrating when they will not refund you your money and call you a liar. I have asked them to view the CCTV footage and they are not ready to admit their carelessness and are waiting on the same. Utterly disappointed.

This Enterprise location gives me VIP treatment each and every time I rent cars from them. They are perceptive, responsive, thorough and professional. I have witnessed other customers become pleasantly surprised by the level of service they receive. The agents even remember the little things, such as things mentioned in conversation that had nothing to do with renting a vehicle, but everything to do with customer satisfaction because as a customer, I know I was being focused on and listened to. Important for me is their after hours return option and their location. I cannot imagine renting from anywhere else!

I reserved a $60/day economy car here rather than at the airport. When I arrived she said "choose the car you want" and offered me 3 cars: a sports car, a SUV, and the economy car I had reserved. When I said I reserved the economy car (I'm 5'3" and WANT a smaller car), she said "sorry, that car is $70/day" and offered the SUV for $60/day. Nope. **I want the car I reserved, at the price I reserved** She said I could have it for $67/day. Um, NO! I just stood there and waited until she relented and gave me what I reserved for the price I reserved. Don't play their shell game; get your car at the airport.

I have rented here several times and plan to do so again soon. The staff is knowledgable and courteous, and I go in knowing that I will be taken care of. I do recommend them to friends and I use enterprise often. I very rarely use the pick up or drop off feature and I always book online. The only drawback is the one time I did ask for a ride they said I was out of their immediate area and asked me to drive the car to the Coleman St. location. They would give me a ride. That wasn't too convenient for me, nor seemingly any closer to my home. so now I don't ask for that service anymore.

Very happy with my reservation, vehicle pick up and drop off experience at this Enterprise location. They even dropped me off at the train station when I returned the car. Staff is friendly and attentive and also allowed me to select the car I was going to rent (based on what they had on location). No one tried to beat me up pushing me to buy the additional levels of insurance, although they were required to explain it all to me. Everything was done electronically and quickly. There was no line either for pick up or drop off. Much better than picking up from an airport location.

The experiance was bad. The car was not performing at all correctly. Under the uphill conditions the car was not moving at all. I were to stop in the side of the road and start over again. secondly when I was taking the car from the premises I was told that they will pick up the car from my hotel. Later on when I requested them to pick up the car from the hotel they rejected the request. But later on with so much arguments they picked up the car from the hotel. It was very bad experience from the team. Sorry to say this but that is the fact.

Raquel from Oroville Ca helped me so much on the way to vacation my phone died she even printed a map so I could not get lost and car had GPS function she helped set up my phone .this was a nice vacation because you all.NFL season finally started training camp so I recieved a call back earlier than I thought from vacation so she even helped me change the destination dropoff to sanjose. Thanks for the flexibility I will be returning to enterprise for all my families car rentals.

I don't usually rent from off-airport locations and this was my first experience with Enterprise, but it was a great experience overall. Started with a great weekend deal, got a Chrysler 200 at an economy class price. The office is huge inside, and everyone was really friendly. Some employees seemed really young and not very experienced but still professional nonetheless. Add in the free pickup and drop off service (which I didn't use this time), and it was great overall.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Everyone is always super nice with fast service. Every time I visit San Jose I only get my rentals from these guys on Montgomery Street. They always provide me with pick up and drop off, I’m only a few minutes away but it’s that kind of above and beyond service that I appreciate. The entire credit for my consistently positive experiences belongs to Ms. Vivian (Barack-Obama, San Jose Branch). Whether there was a last-minute request, an early pickup, or the branch was sold out, Vivian always helped and made things happen without any trouble. I have been pleased so far with all of my rental cars thanks to their upkeep, cleanliness, and mechanical condition. Overall, I'm quite happy with Enterprise Rental, particularly the San Jose branch.

Be careful for this location when you rent a car by using your insurance!!! They not only intentionally rent you the vehicles with the higher rate without telling you, but they also charge you the day when you return the vehicle if your rental is through your insurance claim. Because of this kind of dishonest business, your insurance premium is getting higher and higher since the insurance companies' expense is getting more to pay unnecessary cost....

I get in there on the evening before Thanksgiving. I wait for 5 minutes, Mr.Hamilton Du came to help me with my reservation. The rest of the staff were wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving. Meanwhile Mr.Du got keys of all available full-size cars. He asked my choice, I picked a key. He finished the formalities and I left with the car. Returning the car took even less time. Thanks to Paul as well. And, a management intern whose name i forgot unfortunately.

Be it the Leos or Charlie or Miss Vu, the whole staff is amazing and friendly. I’ve been renting at this location for almost 3 years now and I’ve never been disappointed. They are accommodating of any requests and see through it that customer gets what they want. It’s just amazing to see how this location has maintained its customer satisfaction! PS: SJC Airport enterprise sucks big time. I felt I was racially profiled by personnel upstairs.

I have used various rental car agencies and "all things being equal", Enterprise offers a better customer service experience. They will pick you up & drop you off for your rental IF within 3 miles of rental location. They have Weekend Rental Special from Fri to Mon. Finally they have remote locations open 1/2 day on Saturdays & actually answer the phone! I'm choosing customer service over price. EX: Amazon Prime & Google products. Thanks

A week ago customer service was great. I was satisfy with their service except car needed service. Not much to complain. But.....i had another reservation for following weekened and didnt get a break for my b-day and being a member which I rented many times in my past and gotten good customer service. They were uptight and I even ask to match another car rental. The only problem is if you need a bigger car/van they charge 3 times more.

Staff was excellent very courteous, and upon acknowledging your entrance take time to hold door open. This was appreciated with one handling suitcase and an additional bag trying to open a door. They were observed demonstrating excellent customer interactions with all the entered. The car was clean and excellent performance. The folks in there absolutely help me with my last minute reservation. They were able to go above and behind to make sure I had what I needed, especially with the fact that I had a long journey from San Jose to Houston Texas! I was there for at least an hour, dealing with my bank and they were patient with me and understanding. At the end, I was able to get the car and was on my way. I would highly recommend them!

i won't be renting from Enterprise anytime soon. They gave me a car that had stains all over the seats then they just rinse the car without cleaning before they gave it to me. Also there was a smell in the car. My insurance paid for it however I think that I should got full size car instead of a compact. The manager ended up giving me another car but I still wasn't happy Enterprise

Goto place for renting cars, Paul(You would find him in office) is always so helpful, understanding, cooperative and flexible as per your needs. I appreciate his efforts and the way he deals with customers is amazing. I cannot thank him enough for extending the rental as there was unexpected delay in returning the car. Enterprise is a great place to rent a car up here in need of one which I was mine had to go into the shop and I needed a car right away in the first one I went to didn't have the economy car and they sent me to the second place and had exactly what I needed a small economy car I highly recommend them they're they're good people work there I'm glad they're here for everybody

I had a pickup on a Saturday morning. As soon as they opened there were 6-7 people waiting for help. The person working who’s name began with a V couldn’t have been more awesome. She quickly organized everyone into pick up or drop off and took care of everyone in a quick and efficient manner. My car was clean and they accommodated an after hours drop off. Great experience.

Overall Enterprise Rent-A-Car has excellent customer service. However, in this occasion, I had to wait to pick up the car. The condition of car received was excellent. Return process was easy. Even though I filled the tank, Associated who was taking care of return try to charge me for the gas. He had waived it after showing the receipts of the gas.

I had booked an 8 seater and had requested for an AWD car. The Enterprise team here went out of their way to get me an AWD. During pickup we noticed that the car tyre’s traction was not at its best due to its wear and tear history. The team did their best get me a different car with better tyres and had it delivered to my home on the same day.

Good customer service, I have rented with this location a few times and have no complaints. Had a tire pressure issue with one rental and they had me in another vehicle within the hour. They act fast and have multiple solutions for any issue you face with their vehicles. Never let me down and they pick you up. Don't get much better than that.

Very pleased with fast, efficient & friendly service. Rented cars 2 weekends in a row & both cars ran great. Rec'd the intermediate cars as promised. Staff were very courteous, polite, and helpful. They processed us quickly, helped us with luggage, and provided us with nearby rides upon drop off. Highly recommend this location!

If you are foreigner without local Credit Card there's no way to rent a car. Even as a secondary driver to the resident who meets all requirements. What a nonsense. Manager was rude and not helpful at all. From the official web site: Debit cards are accepted at airport and non-airport locations in the US and Puerto Rico.

My worse rental car experience ever. The staff Marlene Herrera was rude and had bad attitude. Trying to blame me and rip me off for a airbag cover. The airbag cover was in the same condition as I got the car. They just tried to find ways to rip off from customers. Stay away from this rental company.

Got a great deal pricewise, and the staff was friendly and helpful; however, I asked for a compact car (issues: gas consumption and personal comfort in driving) and got "upgraded" to a fancy, gas-guzzler. When I questioned the switch, I got the "not available" chat. Not good business.

I left my cc in the car and when calling the office from the terminal it was impossible to get ahold of them. I sat on the phone listening to music and then getting disconnected multiple times. They need a phone number that goes directly to the office for times like these.

Cars aren't cleaned or ready for you . Its. Downfall but service does make up for it . I would expect enterprise to have staff trained well enough to know status of at least most vehicles as far as damages , pre washed/fueled and to have knowledge of company procedures .

I'm a Gold member with Enterprise and have rented all over the country with them. I like the service, but I was insulted by their prepay fuel option. I got a car with only 3/8 of a tank, and was charged $29.70 for this. Thank God it wasn't tull. That would be $80. Fraud.

Great price, good service. The only draw back was the wait to get the car, our pick up time was for 2:00pm, but we didn't get our car until 2:45pm. Enterprise seems to be short handed a lot of the times, they can't promise Pick Up and Drop Off if they are understaffed.

Great service, easy in and out. Just know in advance that you will probably pay more than you thought, after insurance, upgrade and drop off time I spent double my online quote. I'm just saying it was a surprise. I would rather know my actual cost up front in total.

I had a great experience at this Enterprise. They had a decent selection of cars and SUVs, and the staff was great. The cars are clean too. I traded my car in halfway through without a hiccup. Linda provided exceptional service for my situation. 5 stars.

Had a little wait, best to make an appointment. Staff was friendly and the 2 managers personally took care of us because we had a little issue after we checked the car out. Plus when we returned it. All the cars in stock to check out were really nice.

Normally I am a big fan of enterprise, but when I arrived at this location for an 8.30 pick up, it took an hour to actually get my car.....they then charged me twice for the same rental and took two weeks and several phone calls to return my deposit

Absolutely love doing my weekly rentals. I have been renting cars from them for the past 3 months and the staff is absolutely amazing. Linda( one of the agents) makes it a seamless rental everytime. Would highly recommend renting from Enterprise.

They were very helpful .... my only complaint was they did not tell me that they would be closed for the holiday when I returned the car I was somewhat concerned about being liable for my car sitting in their lot until they return from Labor Day

Twas a rental experience. I have been using enterprise since my early 20s. I don’t like to use other companies. The Camry I rented was adequate with low mileage- making my round trip to Los Angeles a comfortable ride.

Conveniently located downtown area off 280 and Bird exit on the corner of San Carlos. Wise to call early in advance for selections. It says they take credit card or debit with a deposit and licence.

When you book online they will say it’s confirmed. When you book an Uber, pay your money and reach this place, they will be out of cars and non apologetic. It’s a waste of money booking here
