I don’t think I’ve ever had such fantastic customer service before as I do with David. We use his service for my elderly mum who has arthritis, where cooking has simply become too painful, along with mobility issues meaning grocery shopping is arduous at best. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for him. It’s a shock to have the phone answered by the owner, who seems to be there all the time, and it’s always a pleasure to speak to him. I’ve also met the delivery people a few times (we’re night owls) & they are sweet and respectful, which is important for an elderly lady living on her own. And the food.... it’s beautiful and fresh. My mum gets 2 400cal meals per day (without butter, she adds it if she wants from the fridge), and the portions are huge. I thought perhaps they would maybe scrimp with the protein, but not in the least! I’m blown away by the care taken in the recipes, the flavour & the presentation. I live in the UK, and knowing my mum has wonderful healthy meals at home has taken an enormous weight off my mind. I’m so grateful that we found this company, and my only wish is that they were over here, as I’d love to use them myself! If you are looking for this type of service, I urge you to try it for a week. Re the negative reviews: the first is absolute rubbish & anyone with half a brain can understand why meals are not delivered between 4-7, considering how bad traffic is. The second one: I also found the website slightly confusing - call them. David is a pleasure to speak with and will clear up any misunderstandings you may have.

Amazing service! I really can't say enough great things about this company. The food is delicious, fresh and healthy, and the portions sizes are great. The menus are creative and varied. David provides the best customer service I have ever experienced. I had the pleasure of speaking to him on the phone and he was very kind and accommodating. I have a very demanding job in the financial district and this is the perfect solution to my busy schedule. I was always worried about where my next meal would come from. Essential has been a huge stress relief for me and I have peace of mind knowing healthy delicious food arrives at my door step. I was hesitant to start because of cost but the 20 package was a great way to try it and I haven't looked back. It is truly worth every penny and I actually spend less than I would on expensive salads in food courts downtown. And the stress relief and time I save is priceless! Essential Meal Delivery is hands down the best option for meal delivery services in the GTA! Each meal is perfectly portioned using the freshest ingredients. There is a fantastic variety of options every week. Each meal is well thought out and balanced and took my specific macro plan into account. David takes the time to understand the needs of the client. Delicious and healthy meals are delivered in a climate controlled case and is cold until I get it into the fridge/freezer. When my friend started radiation and chemotherapy, I sent her a gift certificate for Essential Meal Delivery. I was not sure what she was able to eat during treatment but I knew David would be able to provide the best options to optimize her healing and take meal planning off the "to do" list for her family. I can't say enough good things about Essential Meal Delivery. Thank you for being the company I can always count on!

My family and I decided to try Essential Meal Delivery in order to eat healthier and simplify our meal prep for the week. I searched through many options and chose David for the quality food, preparation, variety and options for delivery. I absolutely did not want to commit to a yearly plan without seeing the menu first! Our first week of food (all meals are 500 calories) have been amazing! Fresh vegetables, excellent quality meats and flavourful dishes. And the tiramisu is an absolute hit! Portions are very generous and filling. I don't know how it's kept at 500 calories, but we are not complaining. Thank you David for coming into our lives. We will always use your service and I can't wait until we can have parties again so I can have you cater it.

Essential Meal Delivery is a great option if you're tired of eating 'whatever you find in the fridge'. The meals are great and varied, and there's always something on the menu that you want to try. I've sometimes had difficulty ordering because I want to try more than is possible to eat in 4 days! David is great, easy to talk to and very accommodating when it comes to asking for changes or tweaks to your order. My spouse and I had meals delivered for a few months after the birth of both of our children. It was a wonderful way to make sure that we were getting healthy meals for ourselves when we were entirely sleep deprived with a new born and then a few years later with a new born and toddler! I would highly recommend Essential Meal Delivery for anyone with young children and/or new babies. The meals were delicious, the delivery was easy and setting up my account and selecting meals were simple!

David has been fantastic. My wife and I both work and it makes it so much easier to have ready to go meals, just reheat and eat. We’ve tried a few different services that deliver food and you cook it, but we didn’t really like the menus that were available. Adding to that, my wife and I have some food allergies and intolerances that were difficult to work around with the other companies. Essential Meal Delivery has been great with working around our food issues and the food is amazing.

Worthy of 10 stars at least! Look no further, this is hands down the BEST meal delivery service in Toronto (and I have tried them all). Meals are insanely fresh and beyond tasty. It is important to me that the greens come green and these veggies are always cooked to perfection. It makes sticking to a nutrition plan so much easier. You could not ask for better quality and value for your buck. Essential meal delivery is doing everything right and I am so happy I found them!

Excellent service. I used their services during my post partum recovery. It was such a relief to not have to cook during that period of time,but not have to eat unhealthy take-out. I recommend transferring the dishes to the oven (on a tin foil so no cleaning ! Yeah !) at 350 degrees until warm. I sometimes added cheese on top and cranked it to broil for a few min. It added the dairy that I needed for breastfeeding.

I was searching for an alternative to the "healthy meals", due to my "behind the computer", on other delivery apps and came across Essential. I must say, delivering all the way to my place in Mississauga was a bit of surprise but what a meal! Fresh and tasty. The greens are still greens be the time it reaches you. Not a big fan of fish myself but my wife liked it a lot. 100% recommended.

The portion sizes were ideal and the ability to select ones at different price points was a bonus. Delivery was very smooth. Chef David can easily adjust a menu to accommodate any palette. I have used other food prep and delivery services in the GTA and they were bland, expensive, and not nutritionally sound. Not having to worry about preparing meals, or having the stress of figuring out what to eat, allows me to focus on work, training, and recreation

I have ordered from a meal delivery service once in the past, and I have to say that the quality of food by Essential Meal Delivery is ABOVE AND BEYOND! The food is fresh, delicious and healthy. And it's not half as expensive as the other service I used when I lived abroad. Very impressed. And I'm not an easy woman to please.

They are also one of the few companies that are willing to shift their menu to accommodate food allergies/special diets. Worst customer service ever! David the owner is incredibly rude and refused to deliver my meals or give me a refund only because I asked to change my delivery time. Who wants a dinner delivered between midnight and 4am?! If you request that your dinner be delivered at dinner time, you get slapped with a hidden fee.

It’s been a great option to work in some healthy, pre-made meals to the rest of my busy week and supplements my cooking for the family. Super flexible and some real standout recipes - I especially love the more adventurous international themed options.

Awful customer service. My cake was undercooked, and the food had almost no seasoning, other than mustard on everything. I'm not impressed. I shouldn't have to bake my own cake and add pepper when I'm paying that price. I won't be ordering again.

I was a customer of Essential Meal Delivery for a year and a half and loved their food and service. David, the owner, was very accommodating to my requests and made sure I was satisfied literally with every meal that I got.

Absolutely no customer service. I called to ask a question and they were rude and hung up the phone on me. They wouldn’t answer when I called back. You would think they would be polite and courteous to a new customer.

The meals are delicious! Let's face it -- I'm not about to make chicken stuffed with goat cheese and figs for myself. Much better than takeout food and cheaper than restaurants. I especially like the fish dishes.
