I am writing this review to express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Extra Space Storage, particularly Apolo, for his (her??) exceptional service and quick action in protecting me from a group of skaters who attempted to rob me of the VERY !!! expensive and rare !!!!! Beanie Babies that I keep in my unit. I was spending time with my babies in said storage unit when the skaters barged in and tried to take my things. Before I knew it, Apolo had intervened and swiftly handled the situation by telling them to SHOO and KICK ROCKS ! I cannot express how relieved and grateful I am for the actions of Apolo and the rest of the team at Extra Space Storage. Their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of their customers is unparalleled....and it's clear that they take their responsibilities seriously. The staff's professionalism and attentiveness to their customers' needs are commendable, and I would recommend Extra Space Storage to anyone in need of a secure and trustworthy storage solution. Thank you once again, Apolo and the Extra Space Storage team, for your swift and brave action in defending me from harm. I will always be grateful for your unwavering commitment to customer safety and security. 4/5 stars (taking away one star because there is no snack bar???)

I had a stellar experience renting a storage unit for a short period of time. All of the employees I encountered at this location were helpful, professional, and kind. I found myself at Extra Space because of a recently purchased couch that would not fit through the security gate at my building despite the movers trying for 2 hours. I did take measurements, but didn't consider all the turn that needed to be made to get it in the gate and then up the stairs. Needing a place to stash the couch while I tried to resell it, I called Extra Space seeking a storage unit, and the woman I spoke to was very sympathetic to my situation. Her quick thinking and kindness made a frustrating and disappointing experience bearable. I was able to get the movers to put the couch into the unit that day. And I ended up going back the next day to change the orientation of the couch as the movers had left it on its side standing vertically. I wanted to place the couch on its feet so someone could sit on it, love it, buy it, and take it away. I asked a male employee to help me reorient the couch and he agreed, which I did not expect. Again, great service! I'm so impressed with this facility and would highly recommend the Otis St. location in SF.

Overall, the place is nice and clean, and reasonably priced. But this place needs 2 major improvements: 1) This place needs more carts and dollies. The property manager tells me that they have 4 dollies, but they have over 1000 units. I went there on a weekend, and on Monday 3 times. All 4 times, no dollies. They were all being used. I saw several people lugging their stuff without dollies. The reason I was given is that they can only have 4 dollies, because any more and they get stolen. That seems arbitrary. Having enough available dollies is a basic convenience that this place can provide. If they have enough customers complaining about not having available dollies, they should consider increasing the number of dollies onsite. 2) They only have 6 parking spots - 3 in tandem. So most times you won't find a parking spot, and if you do, you'll likely get stuck behind someone. They need a better system managing this. They should either require car parkers blocking another car to leave their key with the property manager, or leave their phone number on the car so they can be called to move their car.

The staff persons who assisted me was very nice and patient with me. Customer service is very important to me when doing business and Keisha went above and beyond, there was another staff member a young gentleman I’m sorry I don’t remember his name who helped me with a lock issue, he ran into some obstacles and that only determined him to continue until the lock was cut off,, the facility is spotless, I mention that because there aren’t any trash receptacles so customers and staff are obviously in compliance with keeping the place clean. Now I am a stroke survivor so the freight elevator is a great help to me but it seems to be out of order often when I go, That small staircase and my storage unit being at the other end of the hall way it becomes a tremendous challenge for my legs. The freight lift should Immediately be repaired when inoperable so us with disabilities can access our storage . That’s is the only thing that prevents this facility from getting a perfect review. Keisha, the manager, is exceptional. From the moment I spoke with her about renting a unit, she was professional, informative, smart, and kind. She thoroughly explained everything I needed to know and grasped that we were renting the unit from afar due to COVID. She made that process seamless as well. She expertly helped us determine the size of unit we needed. Keisha was willing to go over everything including charges, payment modes, and the paperwork multiple times to make sure we understood and never appeared impatient or too busy to help. She went above and beyond by also giving us recommendations for movers which she was willing to meet at the unit and additional tips to make our situation easier. I could not have asked for or expected more. I am very impressed with Keisha and how she runs her business. After speaking with her, we ended our search and rented a unit. I would highly recommend working with her and renting from Extra Space Storage at this location. Keisha is a true asset to Extra Space Storage, an excellent company.

Wow! Best storage facility experience ever!! I recently moved and needed to rent a unit. Found them online and called from work. They were very nice on the phone and walked me through the process, got me a unit reserved, and took me to it for inspection when I got there. The whole process was very smooth! The elevators are secured, staff is always on site and able to answer questions-they are very accommodating and will do whatever they can to help you out. I recently brought an oversized item that I couldn’t get into the elevator and they let me store it in a space next to their office for 2 weeks until I could sell it! Currey helped me with this and I was very grateful as I thought it would fit their generous elevators but it did not….Thats going above and beyond! I recommend this company to my associates and would not hesitate to use them in the future. This place, by far, is the most secure, dry, pest-free, and helpful storage company I have ever used! Don’t waste your time looking, just call them!

TLDR This place really earned it’s five stars. Everything you read about exceptional customer service is true! If you’re on the fence, choose this company. In case anything goes wrong, you won’t regret it. Long story I showed up on a Wednesday morning to find out that my storage unit was on the seventh floor but the elevator was broken. I was literally on my way out when the manager convinced me to wait a few extra minutes to see what he could do. As promised, a few minutes later, he had taken care of the whole thing and I was not only able to get a unit on the first floor but he was kind enough to assist me with moving my stuff into the unit. I was so touched by the kindness and the willingness to find a solution. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough! Their attention to detail, customer service, and support is unmatched. You’re paying for a unit and extra support if you ever need it.

I wanted to downsize my storage unit because I was getting rid of some bulky furniture so I basically just showed up at my unit on Saturday, Jan 21, 2023. Curi was working that day and went above and beyond to help me with really everything I needed. She was kind, courteous, helpful, and patient with me and what I needed. She also took time out of her lunch break to help me with some of the logistics of my move. She also helped find me a lower rate and the perfect unit. I was extremely impressed with her professionalism, her positive attitude, her helpfulness, and her customer service. While moving is normally a very stressful time for me (and most people), she made it so much easier and more manageable with her assistance. Thank you so much, Curi! You were amazing.

The orientation is well presented and staff is helpful & informative! Currently only one of the two elevators work. Its been a few days and what I understand the 25 yr old computer that runs the elevator will not cooperate. Long wait for the elevator. The parking driveway is very narrow, but the parking bay holds 6 cars. Best time to go there is in the mornings to drop off your things. The company only has 3 dollies to move your boxes. Hope they will consider get ting at least 3 more dolies as I requested;or bring your own dolly/ hand truck to save time when it gets busy. It has been 2 weeks and the 2nd elevator still is not running. I gave a rating of 4 stars but it would be higher if the elevator was repaired and if they had 3 more dollies.

Jenica, the Asst Mgr. is greatly commendable! She goes above & beyond her role! This place is clean ever since I walk in as a new renter over 3 mos ago, and they have maintain it! The office is well organized, hallways/corridors on 1st floor is clean! Restroom is always kept clean & functioning! She has an impeccable customer service! I almost move to another storage due to the price increased (which was never a guarantee to stay the same) but she had explained it well! Her hard-work & perseverance had help me tremendously! Had an excellent experience with the entire staff in San Francisco, especially the crew at 190 Otis. Keisha helped me locate a storage locker that worked for my needs, Curi talked me through my lease agreement and answered my questions, and Juan checked me in, answered followed up questions, and assisted the movers with the moving truck and its location. I felt safe leaving my belongings there as the staff is great at watching the location and ensuring that everyone there has proper access to the facility. The facility is cleaned, brightly lit, and has protection against pests. I highly recommend this location for your storage needs.

I have nothing but positive feedback about the Extra Space Storage @190 Otis. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with a very polite and amiable employee who made sure everything was going good with my move in, and informed me if I needed any help or had any questions to not hesitate to ask. The facility was very clean & free of debris. Everything that I needed was right there & the hours of operation work well with my schedule. It was a great experience switching over, & hope it continues to be one throughout my stay here at this facility!

I was linked to a live call with an agent from the companies who was able to explain everything to me and rent a unit, take my payment, send me all the paperwork digitally to DocuSign and download (extra stars for having the option to sign green) and within a few minutes I received an my unit number with my personal code. 5+ stars for that agent. Arrived to the facility was greeted by the onsite staff who gets 5 stars as well. Highly recommend this storage company. Facility clean and well lit, felt safe and happy to be storing my things there.

I am reviewing this storage space for my dad. He says that Keisha had been nothing but very helpful and accommodating, which I truly appreciate. It's great to great customer service especially for a business you only visit once a while. We started renting our storage space 4 years ago and was in the $120s. They increase pricing every year. Unfortunately for my parents, they can no longer keep up with the pricing and had to let go of the space at $190. Very great service. Thanks Keisha for always being cheerful and helpful to my old folks.

My experience with this location has been great. Chris initially showed me the unit and took care to respect covid safety measures. He was professional, courteous, and informative. Jenica was the lovely associate who helped me with securing the unit and starting my contract. Her genial professional and attention to detail are 5 star! She made the lease process easy to understand, was patient with my requests, and delivered stellar customer service. Thanks again to both of you and keep up the great service.

Worth storing items here just for the personal and caring service -- Keisha and the others who work here (apologies, did not catch the names of the two other people who helped me) have all been super helpful and ensure that you have as pleasant and comfortable experience as possible while storing here. I don't typically write reviews but I wanted to make sure to shout out their service -- that's just how good they are! Glad I went with this company and this particular space.

Extra Space 190 Otis Street is the best storage facility in San Francisco. The hours are good and they have great rates. The best part is the helpful staff, Curi is easy to talk to and is always happy to answer any questions or help solve any issues right away. Curi keeps the facility running smoothly, I have seen a couple Extra Space locations and none of the other ones come close to the standards of the 190 Otis street location. 5 Stars, All Positive Experience!

Not the worst but could use some improvements: * Parking situation is a bit awkward but for the most part it works. *Could use more regular cleaning, everything is covered in dust. * Only one elevator works and doesn’t seem like they’re in any hurry to fix the other one * The worst part is you always have to wait a very long time for carts; sometimes over and hour. They really ought to have more carts available for use and be more vigilant about retrieving them!

It's one of the most affordable storage facilities I could find in the Bay Area. They have small, medium, and large storage units available. The price of each unit varies by size. They have an indoor parking space to load, and unload all your belongings. The main elevators, and restroom are only accessible by a unique code given to each storage member and employee. This helps prevent thieves, suspicious people from wandering throughout the facility.

I had a wonderful experience storing my things with Extra Space Storage. The unit was easy to get to and the staff were incredibly helpful during move-in and move-out. During move-out, Ashton, Chris, Carlos, Kevin and Ricardo were especially helpful. I was a day late because my return flight to San Francisco had been delayed. They were super understanding and helped me avoid a big late charge!! It was incredible kind of them.

I initially selected this storage facility because it was close to home, having moved several times since I keep my business with this Extra Space because of the excellent team. Recently Curi, Will, and Apolo have surpassed my expectations and are always on top of everything in the facility! I ask many questions but Curi is always a friendly face and willing to go out of her way for her customers! Thank y’all so much!!

Can’t recommend this place enough. After some serious storm damage, I had to move my whole house into storage in 72 hours. They helped me find the right-sized space, with a first-month-free discount, even. Getting everything off of moving trucks and into the unit required a lot of spontaneous coordination, and Will, Apolo and Curi were all enormously helpful. Thank you for making this part of the process so smooth!

Made a reservation online that has a good rate but for unlisted reduced height reasons. Got to the unit I reserved, it also had a broken latch. HOWEVER, Will, the guy who runs (I think everything at) the place was fantastic. Found me a couple alternative options, walked me through them, got me swapped, waived the fees etc. and I moved in. One start knocked for corporate's failures, but Will deserves 6 stars.

Organized, friendly and great follow through. They were honestly the least of my stress and I feel that they are even getting better. I’m a third Tim e customer. Jenica who I have not met before was my contact and has been incredibly gracious, prompt and able to listen and understand your details. She was a huge help in terms of knowing that it will be all right. I am so happy with everything.

Super friendly staff my dog usually hates people but for some reason she likes the staff here. (I know a storage place where my dog is happy is weird.) Every time I’m at the facility I see the managers removing graffiti. They deserve a raise for keeping this place clean and nice for tenants thank you. Side note Steph Curry’s twin works here if anyone wants to see a doppelgänger ❤️

I’m so happy I moved my storage to Extra Space on Otis St. the staff there is amazing - so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Curi found me the perfect size unit and today Apollo went over and above to help me. The space itself is great - clean and easily accessible! Surprisingly HUGE facility and I was thoroughly impressed with how clean everything was. I used the restroom and it was immaculate. The elevator was even immaculate AND WORKING!!! Had lots strategically located so you wouldn't have to risk injury moving something from upper level to a lower section on the same floor that elevator couldn't access.

Curi Smith is a wonderful and professional business woman. She attended to my needs completely both over the phone and in person. I had called up before arriving because I had forgotten my elevator pass key and with a few steps of verification, she helpfully reminded me as to my key. In person she always has a smile on her face. She is so sweet!

Ms Jenny was very nice she has great customer service and very professional. I'm a first time customer and she made it a good and fun experience!! The storage unit and the whole facility is immaculately clean! It's a very safe and secure place. Great prices too I would definitely recommend coming here for all storage needs!

convenient location. Great customer service. Parking is a bit reduced, getting in and out my be a little reduced for like moving trucks and large trucks. 1st floor worked perfect for us as you go straight in and out. Easy process online. Customer service was great and very responsive and helpful with my questions.

Curi was great the second I came in. Attention to detail was on point. I inquired about a different unit and was offered one that met my needs. Customer service skill set with Curi was bar none. Parking can be a little tight here, but to have a storage right in the city is amazing. Highly recommend.

Is it strange to post a positive rating for a storage facility? Yes, but this place deserves it because of the employees. They keep the place clean and provide amazing customer service. I hope they all get raises. I can only imagine how bad it could be to work here but they are truly awesome.

Incredible service! I’ve been with them for years and recently had crazy rate increase and left a bad review. Shortly after that a local employee reached out to me proactively, drastically reduced the rate increase, and helped me adjust my bill date too! I’ll definitely be sticking around.

Curi and her team are some of the most honest down to earth people with excellent customer service. This area isn’t pleasant but they sure make us feel like we’re getting A-1 treatment. Hope the staff gets a raise.

They have carts to be able to move in your things! I was running behind and the representative accommodated us to make sure we had time to unload our Uhaul and was super polite and patient.
