"This gym fails on multiple fronts starting with cleanliness"
This was a great gym back in the day I’m now a member of a different flyefit and you could swear they are not run by the same company. Gym I use has great lighting spotless clean (cleaners about all the time) friendly staff that say hello and well kept equipment. George’s street gym is dirty and dingy not to mention it stinks poor lighting and not a single person wiping down equipment after use. No sign of staff apart from standing at the front chatting to friends. Machines are sticky and hard to use.. dumbbells have no numbering on them as they are worn off… I see flyefit now as only a gym that is interested in expanding and not taking care of older gyms.
Constantly busy; little to no staff onsite; poor ventilation, particularly in the ground floor weights section; an elliptical machine on the top floor that has been broken for nearly two months. There is no gym etiquette at all: dumbells are disorganised and staff members seem not to care. In addition, all the equipment is used and in an awful state of repair. The only justification for membership here is the price (35€). This is low for Dublin, but it is still good money that people have earned. Flyefit should do better to serve their customers by providing a service that is worthy of payment.
It's not bad,but there is a lot of issues- it's very cold especially the changing rooms, often the water is very cold or too hot- you can literaly burn yourself when you take a shower, the lockers are not good, some of them rusted, the enter door is awful, I often have problem with the card - have to slide it several times to enter, the machines are not put well, there isn't enough mirrors or they are on places that actually you can't use it,some machines are too big for ladies, some of them are shabby and broken,it's very dusty and durty in the cardio aria.
Im a customer since they open. Lack of cleaning specially in men changing room or toilet cublicle.Disgusting... Únic gym in world that applies diferent policies based on people gender. If you are men they kick you out and harasse you until you leave the changin room in time. If you are lady you can have a pleasent shower, acces to the toilet/ changin room forma at least 30 min more than men. Shame of you flyfit management discriminating the major part of you customers just because we are men!!! And machinery mainteinace inexistent.
This gym fails on multiple fronts starting with cleanliness. It’s filthy, especially the turf on the 1st floor. The equipment is in poor repair with many of the seats and handgrips torn or missing. There’s absolutely no gym etiquette. Dumbbells, plates, and cable attachments are disorganized or just strewn about on the floor. To cap it all off, the staff doesn’t seem to care. They spend most of their time on their phones in the reception area rather than keeping the gym in order.
Great low cost city centre gym. Much better than Flyefit Stillorgan. So much more space. Separate rooms for different activities. More equipment than the Stillorgan one. The Stillorgan gym has machines that double up as multiple workouts where as George’s st has separate machines for each workout so there is less queuing. There are also other machines that Stillorgan doesn’t have including an ab stand, two ab machines and a leg machine among other equipment.
The best flyefit gym so far. Dozen of power racks, dozen of benches in dumbbell area, a lot of space for warmup, good and various equipment in general. I am able to get a power rack even at most busy times within 10 mins. The weakest point is changing rooms, always dirty and smelly. Also a disappointing thing is that changing rooms are closed at late times and weekends, that redults in an endless queue to two toilets that are remaining available.
Great gym! Quite busy particularly at peak hours(as you would expect for a city centre gym) but I love it. It's so handy for me when I'm working in the city centre or meeting friends, because the location lets me more easily work in some gym time if I need it! If you're looking for a simple no-frills gym, with daily classes, then this could be the one for you! You can get day passes to check it out.
Over 6 months ago I noticed that the Massage Roller was in bad condition. Yesterday I wanted to massage my muscles and it turned out that I was dealing with the same roller, but in even worse condition. I took the roll and wanted to report this , but the staff told to take it back to where it was.So I did. So a warning for everyone who wants to use it. !Don't do it for your health with this roller!
Affordable gym in a converted church that now looks super modern. Lots of archways, windows and high ceilings that add character to what could otherwise be a very boring building. Instructors are great and classes can be pretty tough! Get there slightly before or slightly after peak times in order to avoid queueing for a machine and always get to your class early - otherwise you'll lose your spot!
The best part about the gym is it is 24 hours , it has a variety of options to choose from like classes for yoga, dancefit, rydefit, pilates, many more.. you also have the regular cardio, strengthening areas where you can work out by yourself. It is very well spaced out with all the various equipments. You also have trainers who are very helpful and supportive. It has a bike parking area.
Pretty good gym for a city centre!! Was super easy to pick up a day pass and a cluster of day passes. There are tons of squat racks and lots of good kit overall. The vending machines have some great snacks and the atmosphere and staff are overall good vibes. The dumbbell section was a little chaotic but this is a given in a commercial gym. Overall a super positive experience at flyefit :)
Would love more yoga classes after 18h30. One day a week is very little Great boxing class as well! Muay Thai would be perfect on a Tuesday or Friday! The showers have been cold af lately. The 'no photography in the lockeroom" signs keep being removed so maybe a permanent one should be made. I had to tell two different girls to stop taking pictures while I was getting changed
Ridiculously busy. If you go between 11 and 3pm or 5 and 8pm ( basically all-day ) you will have to wait each time you want to move to another machine/bench/rack. And you might not have a lock in the changing room. If you want to go between 2am and 4am, it might be alright tho. I think it is better to pay more for a better one, or less for the same. No point going there.
Great facilities, it's a no frills gym except for where it counts which is the equipment and the staff. Free classes for members and more than enough space to get your workout done (it gets a bit busy for a few months from January... new year's resolutions and all that). I would recommend getting their roaming membership so you can take advantage of all their gyms.
I do love this gym but if you're planning on availing of the shower facilities, make sure you work up a super sweat and you have your shower routine planned in sets cause for every second of warm water, you'll get ten seconds of literally ice cold water. Other than that, it's great value, the equipment is great and the staff will give you something to aspire to.
Locker rooms are awful! Always overcrowded and smelly! Showers are dirty and there’s not even a small shelf for the shower gel. The most annoying thing are lockers !! 60% of them are broken! I was walking around the changing room for 10 min trying to find one that is free/not broken. PLEASE fix or change them! Your changing room is an embarrassment for the gym!
It's a good money for value. I always go in alternative hours, so there is no waiting to use equipments. Due to not having their own access cards (you have to get a card from another place and register yourself) often I need to pass my card many times before unlock the entrance. Rather than that, the place is clean and has a good range of equipments.
I just visited it twice but I wouldn't do it again. Very crowded, the equipment is very used and sometimes unusable. For the number of people there aren't enough cable tower or benches. The dumbbells are all over the place, like 20 different types and producers and it takes ages to find the right pair. One plus: it's relatively cheap for Dublin
If you need a dumbell for exercise, you need to wait for 10 mins. I would suggest not to use machine because they are always busy and same people are using it continuously. Nobody is friendly. I would suggest try looking for another gym. They are continously increaisng their customers and not even thinking about the space.
24 Hours . Always warm in winter even in the Am times which is a very important feature. Lots of lockers . Very Well equipped . Massive square footage . Centrally located .No sauna or swimming pool but very cheap and who wants to waste valuable lifting and running time hanging out in a sauna with strangers LOL
Pre-covid experience: Wish that the changing rooms had a bit more space and it gets difficult to find a locker during peak hours. Good selection of free weights, machines, and a small(ish) area for stretching. I will say that the biggest convenience is 24/7 access as it allows to fit sessions at odd hours.
Pros: Very accessible gym, good enough facilities. Cons: due to it's price, it can get very crowded not only at peak times but all the time. The quality of the gym isn't consistent across different locations, the one on George St can be very different from the Portobello one for instance.
Facilities are awesome. Big, clean gym. If you time it right it's also nice and empty. Never a queue for a machine. Showers however are THE WORST. Sporadic heat at best. Can go from luke warm to icy cold in seconds with infrequent blasts of hot thrown in Seemingly randomly. …
An absolute credit to the people and staff behind FLYEFIT - this niche was well needed in Ireland - great gyms, great choices, free classes with top trainers and brilliant value - FLYEFIT has definitely made fitness more affordable and accessible to the masses ! Well done FF
Best gym in Dublin City ! Lots of machines, daily workout classes with dedicated coaches who make sure everyone works at his own pace. Clean locker rooms, easy turnstiles to get in and out and vending machines to buy protein shakes ! I absolutely love this place and you should too !
Giving two star because I have been training there for a while and and the middle section of the gym floor hasn't been fixed for 4 weeks now and it's annoying because can't train properly because the gym is always full and have to wait for others to finish with a machine or a bench
I bought a subscription few weeks ago. I visited the gym once and I decided that it might not be the best fit for me due to personal preferences. However, the service there is exceptional and in my case they really did the extra mile. Thank you very much. I wish you all the best.
Quite spacious gym in the city centre. The layout of the gym is nice but the equipment (especially the machines) is not the best and seems to have been thrown together more or less at random. They should have invested in top-tier equipment such as Technogym.
Great gym keeping up the high standards of Flyefit gyms and with all the equipment one would need to get a good workout. The free classes delivered by very professional trainers are a fantastic perk. All for a very low monthly membership. Highly recommended!
Well it is ridiculously busy at any time of the day, or night. There is just way too many people trying to use the gym, it leads to queues, unable to find even one machine available or any dumbell between 5 and 32.5kg. Save your money, just go somewhere else
Awesome place , my most loved place in Dublin because I am being to that place everyday from last two months, big building and many equipments best gym I have ever seen But the only problem is it will be over crowded at some peak hours but managable
It has the equipment, will it be available? Who knows. Great and big place, the weight equipment is a little dated. Just don't go there in peak time and u will have a pleasent experience... Otherwise it's a stupidly crowded horribly smelling hole.
FLYEfit George's Street is large and features so many essential pieces of equipment. Lots of bumper plates and dumbbells. Helpful staff at the entrance. Would recommend highly for anyone staying in or even spending a week or so in Dublin.
Pretty good here! Went with a day pass at around 4:30pm. Not very busy but still cozy. Plenty of places for cardio training as well as weight training. Subscribe is super easy , you just need a card with magnetic strip. Highly recommend !
Well equipped with lots of space. You can focus on your training. Only thing, air conditioning in the changing room feels way to low (got cold/sick few times after visiting this gym), but I learned to put my jumper on after training …
Friendly staff, good location, card system was annoying at first but now it works fine and I cannot complain about the equipment. Astro area is what I have used most and it is excellent while the weight rooms are also very good!
Most of the cardio equipment doesn't work and if it does work it'll make a massive racket! Gym is overcrowded Monday to Wednesday. Lots of lockers broken. It's a much nicer experience when it's quiet. For €29 it's good value.
Good gym, lots of old school equipment and generally very clean. Giving it 3 stars because dressing rooms close way too early now and some of the staff are not customer friendly but still best deal per month i think in Dublin
I there is a word to describe the gym: it's PAIN Whoever developed the booking system, should be in jail. Nothing you can be proud of. The layout of the gym is a disaster. Obviously it was build with closed eyes. Never again.
Unfortunately was not happy with Flyefit George's Street. Weird smell in the gym. Dark workout rooms, equipment old and pretty used/broken. Dirty areas all over and showers would burn the skin off you or water way to cold.
It's cheap and of decent quality. Improvements could and should be made. The air con or lack thereof, makes workouts unpleasant and there should definitely be more equipment for the amount of members the gym has.
Great gym. Clean. Affordable. Nice clientele. Good trainers. Good selection of classes. With the roaming pass as well it really gives you the opportunity to fit it into your schedule, wherever you are that day.
Great 24 hour gym, easy sign up process. Does get extremely busy at the usual peak times 6:30-8:30 & 17:00 - 19:30. Good atmosphere and equipment available is excellent - 10+ squat racks.... Need I say more?
I have been visiting this place for the last one month that and my experience has been a great one. This has a variety of classes like yoga, dance, pilates, rydefit along with the usual cardio exercises.
That one star goes for the extremly bad card system and the fact they lock the changing rooms after 22.20 leaving around a 120-150 gym members with only 2 changing rooms which are also a WC and showers.
Great gym with a lot of space, high intensity classes and of course they are open 24hrs! Gets very busy around 5:30-7pm during the week in the after-work rush, but avoid these times and it's perfect!
Incredible gym, I have been working out here since 2017 and I must say, when it comes to exercising equipment and their maintenance of the equipment, no gym compares. The staff are also sound
Absolutely love this gym, everyone is so friendly, always see staff around and machines are ways left as they were found (no weights on them) makes your time at the gym a lot more pleasant.
Some equipments are broken. This place makes me feel claustrophobic for some reason. I still like Macken Street Flyefit. But showers and changing rooms are better than Macken Street.
Great facilities. Always a good time to get a workout. Easy to come in, friendly place to come. I come here nearly everyday. You know how much heaven I am in? Its great wuhuhhuhu
Good gym, different areas to train and clean all the time. Just the fact the place is too cold, look like they don't like to turn on the heater . Besides that any problem. …
In the heart of the city, very friendly and approachable staff. Very busy during peak times but people will always let you work in. Clean changing areas and great use of space.
Can't beat this gym for a morning workout at this price point. Sure its busy but what gym isn't? Patrons are friendly and plenty of staff once you've entered the gym itself.
Well equipped gym, although very busy at peak times - to be expected of course. Run a great range of classes and have the gym equipment nicely split out over several floors.
Can someone put a notice in men changing room with pick up your underwear after shower. It's disgusting how many times they are left in the showers. Absolutely disgusting
Excellent gym, great equipment and 24 hour opening. Can be extremely busy in the evenings, but with 24hr opening it's easy to find a convenient time when its not so busy
Equipments are dated and there is a lack of dumbbells and machines. Changing room is small and dirty, lockers are old. The only good thing is that is open 24 hours.
Probably my favourite flyefit location in Dublin! Just beware of splinters, for some reason I just keep getting them at this gym. Carry a first aid kit I suppose.
Seriously how long does it take to fix a cable machine? Over a month and the same machine is broken , maintenance levels of some flyefit gyms are beyond a joke
Great value for money, well equipped, fairly new (opened late 2015) works 24/7. Yearly subscription is quite affordable. Can be quite busy during peak hours.
Very good gym, with a huge availability of equipments and many classes options. The only problem is the bathrooms not so cleaned and lack of dumbbells.
Good for the price and good for people staying for short term ....good for tourists ....even single day option is available....shift manager was lovely
Fantastic gym. Lots of squat racks, machine weights and a cardio room. Very clean. Excellent for bodybuilders, cardio bunnies and powerlifters alike.
Simply Superp and outstanding place to Work out..I'm in love with this place... Great crowd...great atmosphere...You can't expect better than this...
the gym is good but some member of the staff especially marek seems like harassing customers . My advice to the management have a closer look on him.
Some equipments are in bad conditions, what make some exercises to be dangerous! No supervision in the workout rooms, and people do whatever wanted.
Has everything you need, dumbbells are a bit worned out. Get very smelly in the lifting room. Not great for leg day, go to portobello for leg day.
Great gym , but sometimes over crowded. But I live the fact the fact that it is open 24hrs. So I can't come in a 1am in the morning and work out.
Lovely place to carry out the excercises Staff is very kind and friendly I will always go there to carry out my work out whenever I am in Dublin
I didn't start yet but I've got a good feeling and excellent vibes it would be what I was expecting to Kindly regards, Adrienne …
Great gym, but some equipment is not being maintained, many cables without lubrication, need to pay attention to more frequent maintenance
The price is good, the gym is well equipped, the staff are sound and the gym is always kept clean. It does exactly what it says on the tin
I like this FF. Cleaners need a thank you. Busy and copes very well. Astro area upstairs is softer. Lockers a little tight and stairways.
Basic, no frills, has everything you could need for a work out, fairly clean, never too busy (apart from changing rooms some times!)
24 hours gym where no one judges you even if you spend 11 hours there as you decided to have a 9-hour-workout. I love the place.❤️
Amazing gym, got everything you will possibly need to hit any type of muscles you desire. Super friendly and helpful stuff. 10/10
Good variety of equipment. Lockers, showers, and great location. Book you classes and the instructors will be glad to assist you
On the weekend they close the changing rooms so you have to wait between 15-30 mins to get change and the toilet is not so clean
Great gym! 24 hours and it's never really busy so you can excercise anytime, only the bathrooms close at 00:00 during the week.
this gym is a kind of labyrinth inside and full of narrow stairs. Easily to get confuse and there’s no plenty of water cooler.
Less modern than the one in jervis but I still feel like it's so much better because it's got a lot more space and equipment!
It gets crowded at peaks but it has amazing facilities (there's a sled push area and a farmer's walk). Highly recommend it.
Went during the afternoon on a weekday so it was nice and quiet :) a big gym with really high ceilings and great equipment
Great quality price gym with nice courses.they have a lot of gyms in dublin and the one in george'street is open 24 hours
2 sets of cables in this gym one set upstairs broken for a long time dont seem to reapir or matenience the equipment
Not enough air on the cardio area. It's too hot in there in summer. It's not really well organized in terms of space
I have been going there for a year so far, its a really nice gym. Morning hours are not so busy, classes are great.
Good gym with a good selection of equipment. it can be crowded during he busy hours, but besides that, a good gym.
Nice gym, some times busy but cardio area has many equipment, so no need to wait to use it. For the price worth it
The best gym ever in dublin ! Very handy and easy to reach. Great personal trainers especially Anamaria mine !
The gym is very well located but require more attention in terms of cleaning and maintainance of the machine.
Nice big gym. Since they opened more places, it is little bit quieter, which is brilliant. Classes are great
Everything is perfect. Trainers.instructers. the thing i dont like is... just shower timing should b 24/7
I love this gym, mostly sweat class on Tuesday and Thursday, as well Pilates class are my favourite.
Best one in the city centre so far (my opinion) the staff are more approachable than Jervis Street .
Do not ever come to this gym between 4-8 pm, I ve never seen any gym in my life packed like this one
Amazing. Layered in fitness. Each floor doing something of a different workout routine. Really good.
Very nice...the equipment is not the most up to date equipment you ever seen...but it works!
Best place to workout. It's open 24 hours. Handy to access from several location in Dublin.
