Cute little Japanese store in Adelaide, somewhat near the Chinatown area. It is really beautifully decorated and has food and drinks from Japan (as well as other Asian countries). They also have other household items, like beauty products and toiletries. The store is very well designed, with everything neat and organised, and easy on the eyes. There were so many Japanese snacks that you don’t know what to choose! The staff were relatively helpful but they weren’t really able to give recommendations for what I was looking for. I loved the inner part of the store, where there were Japanese toys and then a display full of Japanese dishes/ plates and general tableware. Everything was on display only and not for purchase, but I’d be interested in seeing if they do sell those products (either online or through order). The staff were reasonably friendly but it did feel a little bit unwelcoming at times. However, I really enjoyed walking through here overall, and was able to grab a nice little packet of Kukkia biscuits as a souvenir!

I just lived in the apartment around the corner so pretty much this was I closest grocery place I can go besides Chinatown. They used to have lot varieties of sake when they first newly open last year but it’s getting lesser nowadays.. maybe no one knows how to appreciate good sake. I would grab myself a few bottles of soju if I was working half day or even on my day off. My fridge would never ran out of booze thanks to Futake. Besides booze they do have lot of snacks and beauty products too. Price range are reasonable judging from the location. Customer service is alway great and polite.

Been driving pass Futake a few times and the exterior looked interesting. Was curious and decided to drop by to check it out. Was not disappointed. Futake stocks Japanese food and non food products, Japanese alcohol and Japanese ceramics. I hope they continue to extend their Japanese food products. Will definitely be dropping by again in the future.

A very beautiful, well-stocked store with good prices. So great I came back a 2nd time on the same day - I was treated to exceptional customer service both times by a very nice young lady, even when the store was busy. 10/10

If you miss the Lawson or Seven Eleven in Japan, this is the place for you. It is a LOT of space in the store, and some additional 'flavour of Japan' displays.
