So unprofessional, would not recommend. Phoned at 10am Sunday morning to make an appointment for my 1 and 2yr old, was told a doctor would not be starting in the area until 4pm, which was fine. At 8pm my 1 yrs symptoms worsen so we rang back to get an update on when to expect to see a doctor, was told doctor will phone us back. At 10pm I get a text doctors call has for some reason gone straight to voicemail, have gone to call number back only to find the doctors call from private numbers and there is no way to return the call. Even though I was told the doctor would call 15 to 30 minutes prior to arriving this was not the case. As caught on my home security doctor was calling while stopped in front of my house on the street with the car running he then jumped out the car dropped a sorry I missed you card into my letterbox and drove off. Had we been given proper notice and I had missed the call it would had given me time to ring the office to ask the doctor to try my phone again. So as he had only just left we rang the office to ask them to have the doctor turn around, the lady assured us she had contacted the doctor and he would ring us back as soon as possible and that we still had a booking. We stayed up another 1.5 hours it was now 11.30pm when we finally gave up and went to sleep only to find in the morning the doctor had never bothered trying to call my phone let alone return to visit.

-5 that is how i would rate the whole experience. Unfortunately we never got to see the doctor because the receptionist gave my appointment away. My aunt who made an appointment at 2pm yesterday for her husband after waiting half an hour to get through. Then when this receptionist rang her back last night she hung up on her twice when she answered the phone which was within a couple of rings. When my aunt finally got back through to the receptionist due to another half hour on hold she gave her husbands appointment to someone else. This morning she had to get him to a doctor then call an ambulance to get him admitted to the QEH for which she needed the home doctor's referral last night which of course never happened. She has a bad back and had to deal with her invalid husband who is recovering from a broken hip, has emphysema and trouble breathing with infection and suspected fluid build up. If he is diagnosed with pneumonia and dies it is your receptionists fault. Your service was initiated to eliminate unneccesary queues at emergency not to play games and turn people away. Oh and I can't see any improvement based on previous negative reviews! Your lack of service is a joke and would be laughable if peoples lives weren't at risk. By the way you website won't even accept reviews as your submit button has been disabled!

It was a weekend and i had been advised by healthdirect to get my 3 year old checked by a GP within 12 hours. Any appt i could get at a clinic wouldve been 24 hours away. So i called around 3pm and was told the doctor was starting at 4pm with a 1-4 hour wait. No worries, we would keep up the 3 year old until the doctor had come. Husband rang them around 9pm and they said they would be getting to our area soonish. I ended up sending her to bed at 11pm. Tried ringing close to midnight and calls kept getting cut off after a couple of rings. Dr arrived around 1230, by this time my daughter was out of it so wasnt showing any of the earlier symptoms, he checked what he could of her and left. Was here maybe 5 minutes? Would i use again? If i had absolutely no other choice. I get they were busy but a more realistic time of when the doctor may arrive would make it better. If I knew itd be more like 8 hours wait from the start then no worries instead of keeping our kid up for hours only for her to be seen for minutes. Really wasnt worth it and i got better help from healthdirect!!

Worst service, rude staff, poor customer service and communication. Rang at 7:18am on 17 September 2017 and was told that doctor is starting at 9.30am and we are the first one. Rang again at 10.21am and was told doctor started late and will attend soon. Rang again at 12:16 and received the same response that doctor will attend soon. Rang at 2.32pm and the lady named Kaye put me on hold for 20 minutes and didn't bother to respond so i disconnected and rang again at 2:53pm and she was so rude and started justifying the long wait and stated there is a wait of 8-10 hours in hospitals. When i said she should have advised about the wait times when i rang at 7:18am to book the service and that i'll complain about the service, she rudely answered that i can do whatever i want to do and just hang up the phone. Ridiculous service ever received. Finally doctor turned up at 3:35pm after a wait of more than 8 hours which is totally unacceptable.

Called on behalf of my frail 85 year old mother feeling very unwell. No doctors available, so a phone appointment was made. Doctor called me at 10pm and was to forward script for antibiotics to Midnight Pharmacy in Adelaide. Drove to chemist, their computer had crashed, so no emails were being received and did not really care at all, very dismissive. Admin was also to email me a Pathology form so a urine test could be done, to determine that appropriate antibiotics had been prescribed. No email has been received. Called the service and requested for script to be emailed to a different pharmacy, called them this morning, No script has been received. After several fustrating and excrutiating phone calls with this service, lasting over an hour, still have no script or pathology form. Extremely disappointed and immensely fustrated.

I was unable to get a daytime GP appointment for my 6yr old son, so I booked this service online at 12pm on a weekday for that evening. I got a phone call to confirm the booking just after 2pm. At 6.46pm, I got a generic message to say that we had progressed in the queue. At 10.53pm, we received the same generic message. Nothing further. It is now past midnight, I haven't seen or heard from a doctor at all. Not good enough, when the website says they aim for 1-5hrs. I'm about to cancel and rest assured, I will never be using this service again, nor recommending it to others. Of course I understand they can be busy but I think keeping people better informed about their progression, rather than just some silly generic message would be a vast improvement.

Pretty happy with the service, for our first time using them today. Used the online request form on a Monday public holiday, and received a confirmation phone call in 20 minutes. The operator took some more details and gave me an estimate of when we could expect the doctor. The doctor arrived just under 3 hours after my initial contact - later than the estimate, but still within a very reasonable time frame for this type of service. He had a great bedside manner, kind and gentle with my child and took the time to properly listen and explain things. He made sure we didn’t have any unanswered questions before he left. This has been a much better experience than other home doctor services we’ve used before.

Very poor service and very rude staff over the call. Don't rely on them. My experience: Booked an appointment, received call from them and was asked about symptoms and also told that Doctor might not attend just for fever and was later advice to make a call at health direct. The attending nurse at health direct suggest to book with them in next 6 hours. I called them back and was asked which Suburbs and got immediate response that "we are fully booked on this Suburbs" , How can that be possible?...its a someone health issue you are not movies tonbe fully booked. If you don't entertain visitors cover scheme or patient with single symptoms then mention in your page, loud and clear.

Today called at 2pm to be told be a 5 hour wait. That was well and good. But by 7 pm still no doctor. My daughter's pain was increasing. So I called at 730 pm to be told that he was still in another area and had 5 patients still be this still to be seen and to have to have an ambulance called so bye 10:20 p.m. I called again only to get the same operator a very arrogant man saying that what did I want what do I expect is very very rude not impressed by his mannerisms and I think that are waiting for a doctor for 8 hours is absolutely ridiculousI have used this service for the last two years and have never had a problem so I'm not impressed about what's happening tonight

Absolutely rubbish services - phoned at 6pm to be told that waiting period is between 1-4 hours from 9pm. Phoned a 1030pm to see how far away the doctor was? Ram as informed that since it is still in the window that I should wait and go to sleep. I will get a notification when doctors is around my area. Seriously it is 1230am now and still no notification. After being in pain most of the day, I stayed awake in a hope that I will be seen at some stage. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME!!!!! Take advise - do not book people when you do not have the capacity. Absolutely ridiculous service and I would give them - start if I may but that’s not allowed. Shame on you and you service !!!

Update - 11 hours and they are still not here!! So unwell Sat up in So much pain for 5 hours, called to see where the 1-4 hour booking was. Only to be told it could be another 3.5-5.5 hours wait!!!!!! DON'T TAKE A BOOKING if you don't have the staff, I could have called another locum. Now if someone dies overnight waiting for an 11-12 hour locum, SHAME ON YOU. You know before 5.5 hours that your booking time is going to near TRIPLE so do the right thing and tell people to book a reliable different service!!+++++!!!! Not happy im going to bed in pain and unsure why I'm so unwell and unable to drive to hospital as you're still 5 hours away and I can't sit up that long.

Called at 9:30am on a Sunday with an extremely sick 8 month old baby with a raging fever all night, not eating or keeping down Panadol. I was told it’d be 1-5 hours. 3 phone calls and 8 hours later a doctor finally showed up. My baby was in so much distress and pain all day. If they had advised it would be that long I would’ve taken him to the hospital. All he needed was dissolvable table to stop him vomiting, so he could take panadol and bring his fever down so thankfully he was feeling better finally by 8pm but I was absolutely disgusted that he had to spend the day like that because of their incompetence in meeting timeframes. I won’t use them again.

Initially easy booking online and confirming over the phone in quick time for my partner. Told the wait time was between 1-5hours long. 5 hours in still hadn’t heard anything. Tried calling both phone numbers listed on the site multiple times and had them hang up on us all but the last call where we finally just cancelled the doctor, after getting nowhere. We expected the wait but after 5 hours it would be nice to get a follow up call to be told if the doctor is falling behind and how much longer we could be waiting. At the very least have a phone line for people to actually be able to call and check up on where they are at.

Very bad service. Called at 11.00am for my 2 year old daughter, was told that a doctor will be there between 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Made a follow up call at 5.00pm, was told that the doctor is in a nearby surburb and will be there shortly. Followed up again at 7.00pm. Was told that the doctor has another 4 places to go which are further away from our surburb. Not sure whats going on. If you can't provide the service on time, please just let us know and we can try another provider. Is it normal to wait more than 8.00 hours 2 get a service for a 2 year old. Not sure of the doctor will turn up or no.

Have had to call these guys out twice in a week, once for me, once for my daughter. I expect to wait, we are ringing at night and so there was a wait time. First time was a Saturday, so much longer, second time only two hours. But when they arrived they were caring, attentive and thorough. I would highly recommend this service and I am eternally grateful that we were able to be in our own beds with our own bathrooms whilst waiting for them. Would recommend then in a heartbeat. Thank you from a very grateful family, the service you provide is immeasurable.

Called at 230pm was told the dr would be starting soon at it would be a 1-5 hour wait. 5 hours later with no communication I called and was told there were 4 patients ahead of me and it would be another 1.5-2 hrs. I called back after another hour as it was getting late and I wanted to get some rest after being hung up on 3 times I finally got through and was told there were still 6 people and 3 suburbs in front of me. I asked to cancel my booking and was offered NO apology. For a service meant to keep people out of emergency rooms this is pathetic!!

I had a very poor experience using FHDs, I was told by the consulting GP that she will send the prescription to nominated pharmacy, so I rushed to the pharmacy before it got closed 12am only to find out the doctor had not sent the pharmacy the prescription. I waited in the pharmacy for 40 min until the pharmacy got closed. I called back after 45 min of being on hold i was told the by the operator that prescription was not dispatched to pharmacy at all and told the service was too busy. I am very disappointed how I have been treated with least care.

I booked a home visit for my son(3 years old) at 10 in the morning. I was told that it will be after 2pm and then 6 hours time frame. No sign of any doctor until 8:30pm so rang them to find out what was happening. I was told that the doctor won’t start at my area until 6pm and then it will be 6 hours wait. This was first time I tried to use this service but they messed it up and I couldn’t even get a doctor to come and see my sick son. Very disappointed and annoyed. Please don’t waste your time waiting for these guys because they won’t show up.

Home doctors can be a bit hit and miss as I suppose all gp services can. However tonight I needed a doctor as I hurt my back lifting my daughter out of her cot. Rebecca, the receptionist that called me back after requesting a booking was lovely, very thorough and made the process easy. She gave me realistic waiting times which was great. I was very quickly updated with when my doctor would arrive and he was here within 30 minutes. He was pleasant and professional and I am beyond happy with the service all round. Thanks for being so brilliant.

called at 6pm sharp, no one answered the phone, then I booked it online instead as it suggested. it says that it will call back within 30 mins to confirm, received no calls at all. I called back after an hour and confirmed it after being on hold for 20 mins. we waited and waited, almost gave up. I rang back at 1230am, the call automatically disconnected, 10 times in a row. Finally doctor arrived at 1245am. said my husband got a flu, told him to stay at home and rest for a week, but gave him a certificate of only 3 days! useless.

Highly recommend this home Dr. service. The lady who took my call was very friendly and helpful. I called a couple of hours after making the booking, just to follow up and the same lady was once again, very friendly and helpful. The total wait was around 4 hours, which is totally expected for a free, home Dr service. We received a text msg to advise when the dr was on his way, which was also very helpful. The Dr was very knowledgeable, listened to us, understood us, friendly & caring. Thank you

Called Sunday afternoon. Woman on the phone was lovely, caring and considerate. Explained the wait time and made sure I was happy to wait. I Received a text message within the hour to advise the Dr was within 10 mins of arrival. The office called to confirm my address (its a confusing location) and Dr arrived shortly after. Doctor was gentle and caring when diagnosing my 2.5 year old son. He explained his diagnosis and wrote down what we'd need from the chemist. A very positive experience for us!

Poor service. Phoned at 9:30am and told a dr is available from 3pm. Got a text at 6:30pm saying thanks for your patience. No estimate. It’s 9:30pm and phoned and they said still a few hours to go. It’s says from 1-5 hours wait time. I’ve cancelled and am very unhappy as the appointment is for a 7month old and it’s not good enough. If it’s going to take over 8 hours inform the clients so they can make an informed decision and act sooner to her assistance elsewhere. One very unhappy parent.

Masquerading as a local SA Business to lure you can be, then reinforcing this idea while on hold for over an hour with their "local" ethos, only to get through to Hello Home Doctors - a national Business where the customer service didn't even know how to pronounce Modbury. Then, to top it off, all they can offer in my "area" (read: entire greater Adelaide area) at 2pm on a Sunday is a telehealth appt after 8pm with an approximate 2-4 hour wait after that. Useless. Half a star.

Called when the call centre opened at 6pm. They said the doctor started at 8pm in my area, and there would be up to a 6 hour wait. By 4am the doctor still hadn't shown. I ended up cancelling. I tried the service again on a public holiday, they said the doctor starts at 2pm in my area. He showed up at 5am the following morning, and wasn't very helpful and seemed in a hurry to leave. I won't use this service again due to extremely long wait times, and unsatisfactory service.

Just had a snowflake receptionist actually put the phone down on me!! she stated she couldn’t hear clearly.. sure I’ve got a cranky unwell toddler in background (hence my call!) but wasn’t unclear at all, was actually her poor communication, slow and clumsy switchboard skills ( yes, have done this job myself) no attempt to call me back, no attempt to clarify whether a visit is even locked in.. very unprofessional. If you have no patience to work a night job, then don’t!

Don’t know why it’s called ‘home doctor’ called for a home doctor as my partner needed to be seen by someone they mentioned on the phone that the appt may be a Telehealth and I explained that he needs to be examined and that the Telehealth would be a waste of time. A few minutes later received a msg saying we had been booked in for a Telehealth. If we wanted Telehealth we wouldn’t be booking a home doctor! Very disappointing! Don’t even bother calling them.

Called at 3 today to make an appointment. I was told there would be 3 people ahead of me. I waited 10 hours! I called them to find out what's going on and they say oh sorry too many patients tonight. I asked if that meant I wouldn't be seen and he replied "I'm not sure" what kind of monsters mess around with peoples health like this?!? I could of gone to the hospital hours ago if they were honest and now it's 1.30am. Please don't give these monsters your money.

Should have read the reviews before getting this service. I called for a home doctor which became FaceTime call the doctor scared me and told me to go straight to the emergency room where I waited for 9 hours to see the doctor who examined me for a few minutes and told me to go home. It was just gastro and haemorrhoids lol way to go stressing me out for nothing me going to the hospital is traumatising as it is and the doctor just thought it ridiculous.

This service is an absolute disgrace. I booked a locum on the 31/3/21 at 6pm and the time and date now is 1/4/21 6:08am - making several phone calls through out the night to get an update, then the final phone call the receptionist Tania saying that I am next on the list and receiving a text message saying doctor is on his way. To have no Doctor turn up at all... I advise strongly do not use this services as I hope no one else has to go through this.

The lady booking me in was polite and very helpful. I am a GP myself and needed my husband checked. The GP who visited was excellent. Having been a locum, we need to value doctors who do home visits. The doctors need to be quick and efficient. There is no time to have idle chats - I understand this. I invite all customers to be grateful and respectful to the excellent doctors working for this locum service. Well done and thank you for your help!

Very poor. Called just before 7pm to be advised that a Doctor wouldn't be out until after 12am. Had to call back when the Doctor hadn't arrived only to be told of a further delay of 2 hours. Waited until 2.30am but still no Doctor. Called back a third time. Told will be seen in the next hour, around 4am? Simply not good enough & they should be calling the patient to advise of the delay, not the other way around. Would not recommend this service.

The lady I spoke to on the phone late at night was just wonderful! She didn't rush, asked all the right questions and best of all, this company services my area of Penfield which so few other services do. Most of these home doctor services are based interstate which was clearly apparent when they never heard of Penfield, but Family Home Doctors are based in SA and service even some regional areas. Very impressed. Can't recommend highly enough!

An amazing service me & my family have used several times. I don't know where we would be if it wasn't for this service. We have tried other locums - but nothing beats the personal touch of being local to SA and always dealing with professional staff, managers and doctors. They really care about your situation, and show it in their voices and timely service which is so important as a distressed parent with sick children. Thank you to you all!

Very poor and unprofessional was told at 4pm there was a 1-4 hour wait time , by 10 pm no doctor and I rang them 3 times to ask . They knew how sick I was and still nothing . On the last call they told me the doctor was an hour away and to not call them back . I'm still waiting the next day , no call back nothing. I ended up going elsewhere . DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE ! DISGUSTING SERVICE!!!!

1 Star as you are unable to give less than 1 star. Do not contact this service. We were advised that our son was booked in and Dr would arrive between 4pm and 8pm - We called back at 9.30pm and were told that they were busy and would be on their way soon. We ended up calling again at 12.40 am to cancel our booking. If other services are like this - no wonder our emergency departments are over flowing.

Called a locum to come out at 9:15pm and waited. 2am in the morning called back to see if there was much more of a wait and was told I would be waiting another hour which was fine. 6am still no doctor. By 7am still no locum and after all of that a locum never showed up, no call to say the locum couldn't make it. Such a poor service. Will not recommend it to anyone nor will I use it again.

Was booked in for a Telehealth consultation as was told no Drs in my area available. Waited and waited for a SMS for a face time consultation that never occurred. Called them back to be told the Dr had cancelled my appointment and bulk billed Medicare without a consult? Ended up going to local emergency department this service should be shut down clearly a Medicare scam organisation.

Very poor service. Initially booked an appointment online around 12:30 pm. But had to call after an hour and a half as didn't receive call from call centre. Was told doctor won't be able to attend in the afternoon instead can do between 7pm - midnight. In the meantime they will book an telehealth appointment where the doctor will call me back. Am still waiting for call from doctor

Terrible service. Called at 4pm for a doctor to come out and I am still waiting now at 10pm, still no doctor. Called to ask how long the doctor would be and was told they would call me back to let me know. That was 30 mins ago.. Finally got some answers and apparently I was missed off the list so I now need to wait another few hours... Would have been quicker going to hospital.

Disgusting service everytime! Never have a doctor available only an hour after lines open! Always on hold for 40 minutes to just be told no doctor is available! Would give 0 stars if I could! Ps your bs auto messages playing 100times over is extremely false so is the website which says a doctor is available till you try to click book! Such a let down for people really in need!

This place is a scam!!!!!!! charge me $128 for nothing the so called telehealth consultation only lasted 90 seconds and they did not give me prescription and doc cert of any sort. The woman (don't even know if she was a certified doctor or not) was extremely rude, she was boiling water while we were chatting and I couldn't hear a single thing she said! AVOID THIS PLACE

Called for my husband who was in chronic pain. No doctors available to visit, was offered phone consult. Useless in this situation. Most upsetting. Told to ring Health Direct who gave me the numbers of other home doctor services. All said the same thing, no doctor available for a home visit. It shouldn't be called Home Doctors if they aren't available!!

Finally a home doctor service that delivers. Professional care within 2 hours of a call-out. I rang two other services and tbey both said doctors appointments were fully booked in my area. What a crock! The doctor that visied me reminded me that real doctors truly care about their patients - and this doctor was excellent. Thank you!

Dr came quickly on late Sunday night when my wife was distressed and in pain with a bad tummy upset bug. Gave her injections to stop vomiting and control diarrhoea and control pain. No charge involved for a very good service. Wouldn't hesitate to use again when urgent medical attention needed. Lovely telephone staff

Booked an appointment at 6pm and after waiting for 4 hours, there was no doctor. Decided to call and the response was "sorry, our doctor is really busy atm, she'll come in the next hour and a half". Common courtesy as a business should have called me back if theyre not going to deliver what they promise.

I Rang when phones opened at 12 and booked a dr, after 6 phones calls, no one returned my calls, a wait of 11 hours even though I told them my boy was very sick, possible tonsillitis and rash developing, no idea when dr was coming. I gave up and cancelled. Never call this company, they will not come.

Still waiting 24 hours later. They book a time and don’t attend. Two phone calls later the apologise for the delay but assure me they are still coming. There has been no contact from them and they have not showed up. There is no service. Don’t put your family at risk.

I booked my appointment at 2.30 pm today, it is 10.11pm , no doctor show up. Very bad service.they ring me to sleep now . They will wake up us when doctor is close in tomorrow morning. So I canceled my appointment. Very very bad service, don’t try it. I give -1 star.

These are the most terrible after hours doctors, they tell you they will be over 4 hours and how sorry they are… then offer you an appointment in the next 30-60 minutes they’re a joke.
