"Traditional Chinese Bakery with super super super affordable price"
"While the place is small, they've got a seating area right behind the wall with the fridge, but to most outsiders, this is a quick in and out stop"
Non descript storefront and equally no frills counter belying a trove of traditional chinese pastry delight freshly baked. Ordered a couple of sweet buns and flaky filled small bites with lotus and red bean paste and was pleasantly surprised with the soft and flavorful buns and crisp, flaky pastry encasing a generous filling with just about right sweetness and fine texture. Surprisingly inexpensive given each pastry is manually prepared.

Ordered two 'fresh' fruit smoothies (mango and coconut) and a green tea cream roll for $17 and change. The smoothies are NOT made with fresh fruit but canned. As the lady was preparing it, I saw her take her mask off to smell the coconut from the can. She hesitated a bit and called someone else over to smell it. They talked for a bit but she still proceeded with blending it. Of course it was spoiled. When taking it back to to her, she acted surprised. I let her know I saw her reaction while preparing it and do not know why she would sell something spoiled! I do NOT recommend this place! Not worth your money!
I love coming to this bakery if I'm on my way back from school and I need a quick and cheap bite to eat. Most of the buns are around a dollar, which is a steal because you can make a meal outta 2 bucks. Some of my favorites are the BBQ pork buns and pork floss buns with green onion and mayo on top. The bakery also sells moon cakes, mousse cakes and a limited selection of dim sum items. One of my favorites are the taro puffs, which are only $0.75 and they're huge! Moral of the story: if you're broke and there isn't a McDonald's value menu available...head to Feida Bakery.
Traditional Chinese Bakery with super super super affordable price. The first day we were there, we bought big pork bun, mung bean biscuit, gai zai cookies and coffee Swiss roll to try out and we can’t get enough of it and the next day we went back for more Swiss Roll, mung bean biscuit, six big pork buns and few more other bread. Is the taste the best in the world? No, not really, but it is the traditional taste with everything full of flavors and the price…they are literally half price of the opposite store. Will definitely back for more bread!!
While the place is small, they've got a seating area right behind the wall with the fridge, but to most outsiders, this is a quick in and out stop. Definitely don't be afraid to try the pastries due to their names or appearance, you literally cannot make a wrong choice. They have unusual mochi-like breads on the left of the case and to the right, the unusually delicious hot-dog-wiener-in-a-roll-of-bread. Also, if you tell the lady you're getting a lot and ask for a box, you well better be getting a lot of pastries because it's a big box.
They only take cash, but I got all this for $5.90! They're hefty pastries, too. From left to right: lotus paste mini moon cake, winter melon cake, ?? (some kind of sticky rice cake with red bean paste), and a taro paste bun. They were all delicious. The red bean sticky rice one was my favorite; the texture wasn't too sticky nor was it stale at all. The taro paste bun has a really nice texture, too, the kind that you only really find at Chinese bakeries (in my experience).
The service was very poor, the taste was kind of on the bad side, and the bun was soggy. SOGGY!!! • My mom got one of the bun there and the meat filling was undercooked and went to the lady to ask her to microwave it but the lady didn’t want to. • I asked for the beef curry bun, didn’t get it but got something that looked like cheese and corn for the filling. The bun I got was more than 50% hallow, and there was barely any filling in it.
Super under the radar bakery that is a total must stop for Chinatown. There is a slight half step to get in but my power chair was able to manage the entrance. The workers don’t speak great English but the baked goods are totally worth it and such a good value. Cash only and when they sell out they sell out so get there early for the cocktail buns! I am sad they don’t deliver.
As always, everything is great. The young lady there is nice, she's serious but always says thank you. Most of the times I just go to Chinatown for them. --------------- I've been going there for years, I'm never disappointed. Love the bread, and steam buns. Always everything tasty. The only problem is over eating
Pretty good pastries and pretty good price. Loved the place. Bring cash as that is all they accept. We went pretty late, so didn't get to try everything - we wanted to for sure. Ambience wise, it's pretty much a hole in the wall. The young lady is courteous and says thank you (but she is not overtly friendly).
The skinny women with glasses is so Rude I’m not going back to that bakery ever. How can you run a business with such horrible attitude. She’s always been there since I been coming to this bakery. But I given it many chances I’m done going there. Remember you relay on customer to run your business.
I've made a point of going to this bakery every year during the New Year's parade. My son loves the egg cake wrapped in a paper cone. I always get the pack of winter melon cookies and a noodle bar/cake. Next year it's the moon cakes. Cash only and don't let the outside fool you. It's a great place.
So this bakery has a low profile, it's not flashy or up to date with the latest tech/trends but they don't have to when they have the goods. Honestly it's one of the best bakeries I have ever been too. It seems to get more of a local crowd, but that's because they know the secret inside.
Very friendly service and absolutely delicious breakfast. Coffee was great too! Opens at 7am and is cash only!

Egg Tart
Traditional and authentic Chinese bakery! Really low prices and tastes fresh. Doesn’t have the biggest variety but definitely has the classics like pork floss bun, egg tarts, etc! My go to for Chinese baked goods in Chinatown Chicago. Make sure you have cash bc this is cash only
This is my go-to spot for "Cocktail Buns" a.k.a. coconut butter buns. Seriously, if you have not tried a cocktail bun, get your butt over to Feida and order a dozen. You'll thank me. This is a also a great spot for bulk fortune cookies and Chinese pastry in general.
It may because I'm not an expert in Chinese food, but I love this place! They have giant pastries for next to nothing! I've never left hungry or upset with what I had to eat. It's definitely something if you want a delicious way to expand your horizons.
This has to be my favorite bakery shop in chinatown. The prices are amazing! I stop here every time I go to chinatown. My favorite is the winter melon bread. It has such a nice texture to it. There are many options from you to choose from.
The owner Qianhan is super rude and disrespectful to his employees. Just yelling at them right in front of consumers. I will never go back. Also yelled at a consumer. While I was waiting to be serviced. I decided to walk out
Nope. Go else where...the egg tart was not good. It tasted like scrambled egg, not sweet at all. The red bean sesame ball was greasy and did not have enough filling. On top of that, the service was cold and not friendly.
So before the pandemic this was my fave bakery... but since they have stopped selling several things I really loved. Their goods are yummy but imma have to shop around to find curry beef buns and peanut balls.
One of the hands down best bakery you will find in Chinatown! Affordable and delicious I’ve been coming here for over 15 years for there sticky rice and don’t PLan on stopping!
Amazing pineapple bread and melon cake! I like their crystal cake and almond cookie. I don't have a sweet tooth so the Asian level sweetness is very much appreciated.
the lady with glasses is a rude ¢un† I'm surprised this place has customers coz that lady is too rude and bitter. this is a message to her: 你是他妈的婊子
Hidden gem! Great bakery items. Cream bums were amazing! Cash only. Can't wait to come back!

Usually the moon cake and other dessert is ready good but today, they all hard and dry. Might be a little old or stale.
Check out this place is egg tarts and barbecue pork buns and they give the other bakeries a run for their money!
Really diverse selection and inexpensive prices and often larger portions. Really great pla e for desserts!
Cash only. Most pastry is subpar. The custard buns are huge but with almost no filling. Go somewhere else.
Great food and prices. Intimidating though as there is no clear line. Felt like every man for themselves.
The wife's cookie was very very stretchy, almost like cheese. I've never had one that consistency before.
Fair price on tapioca fruit smoothies and worth it. Taste great and better than other places I’ve tried
Great baked goods. Best winter melon cake in Chinatown. Sesame ball and egg tart were also on point!
One of my favorite bakeries in Chinatown! I would highly recommend trying their buns and cakes.
My girlfriend is addicted to their egg tarts, we have to stop by every time we come to Chicago.
Best price on fortune cookies and great tasting almond cookies. Friendly and very good prices.
Egg tart was okay, sponge cake was great. For the price, I'll definitely be back to try more.
Cash Only, but that's how they keep the cost low. Delicious and authentic. Highly recommended
Good-sized selection, especially since they closed that other bakery near Chinatown Square.
Been coming here for like 10 years best bakery for Chinese sweets worth the 45 minute drive
Try the green tea roll! The rest of our treats were just okay, but that one was memorable.
Great and affordable. Cash only! No frills but old school and traditional proper taste.
Delicious! Make sure to bring cash as this is a cash only bakery, well worth it!
Decent place for what you pay. Always my go-to when I’m in the Chinatown area
Got mooncakes here last minute for mooncake festival and they were great!!
Slightly off the main area. Great stuff at a low price. Cash only.
best bakery in Chicago. they also ship to iowa and Minnesota
Bakery here is always good, but it's cash payment only
This is 2022 and they refuse to take credit cards ?
Изумительный чай с молоком и сосиска в тесте ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great food at low prices. Best bakery in Chinatown
Good baked goods. But service was pretty bad.
Great variety, all delicious and super cheap!
Super cheap, super fast, super good service
They have great pork buns but are cash only
Excellent char siu bao! Friendly service.
