Film club is a great little DVD rental shop, has most dvds and very reasonably priced rentals for the week. The owner is very friendly and helpful and will go above and beyond to help you find what your looking for or assist you in any way. With the rise of Netflix places like this are slowly disappearing so I’m glad to see this place is doing so well and standing the test of time when so many others haven’t, there’s just something nice about physically going into a store and picking out a movie rather than going online and browsing the web. If you live around the area definitely give this little store a visit :)

You won’t find a film selection like this anywhere in Sydney or streaming online. Rather than endlessly scrolling on your digital screen, you can browse the shelves, physically pick up a title and discover something new. It’s a richer, more satisfying experience. Whether you’re looking for a must-see classic, a fun genre flick, or a forgotten masterpiece, chances are they have it. And if they don’t, they can try and get it in for you. Viva la video store!

How can a video store be relevant in the age of Netflix and other internet-age streaming services ? The film club has a simple recipe: curate a selection of critically-acclaimed films, not easily found otherwise. Includes lots of ‘foreign’ cinema. Weirdly enough, this includes the best cinema ever made - that somehow, is not available to stream. Organised by director. The best video store I’ve ever visited, hands down.

I love Film Club - it's the best place to get a DVD in Sydney!! - They stock a range of hard to get/obscure titles that you can't get anywhere else in Sydney plus all the mainstream titles. Their t-shirts are fabulous and so are their books. For a great night in go no further than Film Club, Ben will even recommend something for you when you don't know what to get - he certainly knows his stuff.

One of the few video rental stores left in Sydney, this one is a real gem for the movie 'connoisseurs '.Racks of foreign and hard to get films they truly are a niche film shop .What you'll find here you certainly won't find on Netflix or Stan- and at bargain prices. Well worth dropping in or calling and asking or requesting something from the knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Surprising even myself, I rather liked it.There are lots (and lots) of movies covering a very eclectic variety of styles. Prices are extremely reasonable, so much so that I cannot understand how the owner can make any profit, at all: perhaps it is a hobby, or something. Whatever, the guy in charge seems both very laid back and also extremely helpful.

It's hard to lament the death of video stores when this store singlehandedly trumps all those that have fallen. While their catalogue is flavoured by an arthouse bent, they are not above mainstream offerings. Film devotees will appreciate a section where movies are organised by director.

Ben and the staff are great. i often ring them to ask about new movies out and they are always happy to hold a movie for me until i come pick it up. As a regular customer, Ben knows i like horror and sci fi and often recommends new good movies he thinks i might like. Leah & Damon

A fine selection of titles for hire, including a decent selection that can't be found on any streaming services. Browsing through this small but beautifully arranged Film Club is like taking a step back in time to a place that has long been forgotten - the video store.

A final vestige for celluloid dreamers. Do film lovers dream of VHS? Can you find obscure Polish art house titles and Japanese gems? Potentially all of this and more but you should go in and take your kids before the experience of hiring films disappears.

Amazing DVD shop to rent or buy with many old, new and cult films to be rented or purchased. A nostalgic gem, better than any Blockbuster Video that existed. I hope it stays around to help preserve the historic culture of renting movies from shops.

Very happy to have discovered this place that is still renting DVD. If you miss a good old DVD nights like myself I think that’s the last place standing for it they had a really classic old movie which I really wanted to watch again.

  • Shamus Tickell

These guys have a great selection of DVDs, a lot of old, cult and hard to find films from around the world, as well as classics and mainstream films. Well priced too.

  • Peter Smith

What a gem Film Club is. A smallish, but rich and diverse array of classic films, including many extremely hard-to-find titles. Five stars for this enduring classic.

  • Paul Kenny

Ben and Ian are obsessed with movies, their knowledge and enthusiasm is amazing. PS I am a very biased in my opinion as Ben is my son and I am very proud of him.

Even if all the old video stores were still open, this place would beat them all. Fantastic selection and amazing service
