If I could post a below Zero I would and I would mount a warning sign above the store! Run be very very suspicious of this place. My mother had a brake caliper freeze up on her van . She had the vehicle towed to Firestone off Barry road for convenience. She told the service writer she wanted the brakes looked at as well as an antifreeze leak. Well I’ve been an Auto ASE Certified Technician for 35 years till I became disabled and can no longer work on cars. I’ve heard of up sell but this is way overpriced and board service manager is behind fraudulently having customers pay for repairs not needed! The Service manager called and my mother said speak with my son he knows about repairs of cars. He actually argued with her saying no it’s her he needed to talk to not me. The first laughable thing was he said that they couldn’t even look at the rear brakes till the front brakes were repaired. The pressure in the lines would not give him an accurate diagnosis of the rear brakes. 35 years working as a professional Technician not at a quick repair shop but at a Dealership where I was factory trained and schooled drivetrain, brakes and suspension was where I specialized. Never once have I had to pressure check the brake system for a repair. Let alone fir a diagnosis. They wanted 875 just to repair the front brakes. Second item that’s laughed all motor mounts broke very serious situation hazardous to operate so they claim! Nothing is wrong with the motors mounts. So false repair job request. Third laughing request Antifreeze leak um we don’t know were it’s coming from but it’s 575 to pull the top half of the engine apart to look for it! How can you find a leak with it apart? It’s called us black light dye in the system you can find the leak with a black light! Forth thing both lower control arms ready to fall apart safety hazard should not be driven! There is no play in the lower ball joints ! Cv axle. Exploded was another one! Wrong again yes it’s bad but has not exploded or the car could not move! Cv axles supplies the torque from transmission to the tire. Even after explaining to him I know what I’m talking about and could provide him with proof . I worked at the largest Chevrolet dealership in the Midwest! He still said I didn’t know what I was talking about. Upon getting their written estimate they were trying to over charge mom as well. When doing a brake job if you were replacing the lower control arm or the cv axle you figure into your labor rate that you already have 3/4 of the job torn apart. Not here they figured it as the wheel and brakes were still attached which added more time and labor = money in their pocket. Said they used Mitchell labor rate manual well no doubt but if you don’t know how to figure up labor and time jobs get out of the field! You’re a thief stealing money from people who may not be mechanically educated as others! Total cost of their repairs 3895.63 . Oh yeah they charged mom to diagnos smoke coming the brakes seriously it says visual sight verification of smoke on front left tire 19 dollars. Come one! Really lmao gonna turn this in to the District Attorney as well and the United States Attorney General! Taking advantage of the elderly during a pandemic is sick!
I had my oil changed and tires rotated here and will never use this location again. I was preparing for an 8 hour trip to visit family and luckily my boyfriend looked at my car before leaving. There was oil leaking from my car and upon opening the hood, we found oil splattered everywhere. The cap was missing and we found it lodged under the hood. I called the Kansas City, MO location and Evan answered the phone. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he was a manager. When I told him what happened, he said I could bring it in and they would try to work it in. I explained that I needed to be on the road and that my vehicle could have been ruined-either the engine could have burned up or my car could have caught fire. I said is tgat all you are going to say? He said-he not sure what else you want me to say. I said-how about I'm sorry. Never once did he apologize or show that he would take action to get me taken care of. I called the Liberty location and spoke to Wyatt. Liberty is where I normally take my vehicle and they have always been great. Wyatt told me to bring it right in and that they would get me taken care of so I could get on the road. Showing concern and immediate action is what a manager should do-which Kansas City location did not. I am in outside Sales and my vehicle is my livelihood. I'm lucky that the problem was caught before I was on the road with my 2 dogs and I'm lucky it was caught in time before my vehicle was ruined. Hopefully, my vehicle will not have any damage from the splattered oil and from not having enough oil. I would never return to the Kansas City, MO location again. I'll drive the extra miles to Liberty from now on-where I know things will be done right and where I know if a mistake is made-they will make it right. Evan, the manager at the KCMO location, can learn a few things from the Liberty location. He should have to come to my house and clean up the oil in my garage and driveway. I filed a complaint with the corporate office and hope he and the technician at the KCMO location will be held accountable, so no one else is put in a dangerous situation like I was.
The N Madison Firestone has some excellent people! To me - a failing alternator is not necessarily an emergent, but when it fails in 105 degree weather, 80% humidity, and I have heat sensitive 13 month old in the back, its a recipe for a scary situation. The problem occurred at 4:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon. As soon as my Jeep Grand Cherokee started surging and the battery light came on, I knew what the problem was and called Firestone immediately. The location did not answer, but a phone representative did. She was able to get a hold of them while they were closing up shop, and confirmed they would wait for me as I drove there. I was able to drop my kid off at a friends, while the manager and a technician stayed late waiting for me to arrive. I quite literally coasted my Jeep into the Firestone Parking lot. The manager greeted me with a friend smile and assured me it would be okay. The did everything to fix my vehicle that evening - they even drove to another location to pick up the correct alternator. The manager understood that I lived 25 miles away, and wanted to be sure my son and I would arrive home early. I had a family member come pick me, so I just arranged to have my vehicle stay overnight. Had she not picked me up, I guarantee the manager and technician would have stayed all night just to give me wheels. Instead they kept the vehicle, fixed it up, did a few other maintenance items, and I was able to pick it up a few days later. They were GREAT to work with! Very caring, attentive, and quickly was able to calm me down. Give them all a raise! The service provider I had was 10-Chris at store #017086. The technician was 14-Ryan Ensign and 18-Keven Kerley. Please send accommodations to they employees. They did a great job!!!
The customer service reps are very friendly and as helpful as they can be. My only gripe is with the mechanics as they are questionable. I went there the first time with a simple oil change and the cost was fair and done right. The very next day, after having no issues with my car mechanically, my engine light kicks in and I notice some "loose" parts under my hood that were not loose before. Now I'm not saying that my car was tampered and that the mechanics caused this but I feel like something is out of the ordinary. I took my car back to this facility for a check up and after paying $50 for the inspection, I received an estimated repair bill of $800 for a new transmission. I was shocked and I wanted a second opinion. They stated that my car would soon have trouble getting over 40 mph and needs to be replaced immediately. I was having a hard time trying to convince them that I wanted a second opinion and I don't care if my car is "unsafe" to drive, I'm not leaving it there and pay this ridiculous bill. After that whole fiasco, I took my car to TMS auto repair and they took a look at it. They told me that the transmission was loose and just needed to be put back in place. $20 for the total repair and I've had no trouble since. Now once again I'm not saying that Firestone is using malpractice but they sure as hell could've been honest with me instead of holding my car hostage. I will not be using their service again as this is a black mark on their record for me and if anyone is considering using them just make sure to not be pestered into needless repairs at ridiculous rates.
Made appointment for alignment after strut replacement and before long road trip. Took car in very timely. alignment was done before I was settled in waiting room. I was shown before and after specs when paying. Car drove reletively straight when brought in for alignment after doing work but had never had an alignment since buying car in September. First drive of car after alignment the steering wheel was not straight and car tracked to the right. I drove car three miles before returning to make sure it wasnt the crown in the road causing it to track to the right. Brought back to shop, was greeted by individual that closed me out. I explained my concerns and asked if vehicle was test driven after alignment. He took keys and drove it. When he came back he asked if I wanted to go for a ride. He told me he thought it was straight because he let go of steering wheel and vehicle tracked straight. I explained my concerns again and we continued driving. Upon returning to Firestone he continued to dismiss my concern and say "we are all set" and I again stated that I disagree that the car did not track straight and the wheel was not straight. I will take the car to a different location after trip to have it realigned. Hopefully they will not dismiss the customer concern. I purchased lifetime alignment so I am not worried. I just know that when an individual in customer service dismisses the customer right off the get go it is not worth wasting my breathe. I performed hundreds of alignments as a Chrysler technician and I know a shop that sets the toe and go...
Went in for a missouri vehicle inspection and front end alignment. Dropped it off at closing Friday night friendly mechanic even drove me home ...in my 2014 tacoma...i am thinking I'm impressed.....but....then I return Saturday to pick it up after work ...walked there this time...drove it a block and now has a traction control light on and an audible noise when using brake ....which was not there Friday when the "mechanic" drove me home..??.... ..then find out they didn't do the mvi instead did an id/od. after I returned to complain and meet with a very curt ( not totally rude but my guess is they have a lot of people come back) salesperson... And argues that the work they did has nothing to do with issues now....guess he is an expert on everything without even having to look at it ..???.so after some rude conversation they cant look at it now but will make another appointment to waste more of my time...oh and another charge I'm sure....no thanks ...wasted my time and money with this business ...wish I could do it all on my own so its right....seems like simple expectations...but at this business you will only get incompetents and wasted time and money....anyway will not be back....
DO NOT GO HERE!!! I initially took my car in because it was making a squealing sound when I turned the wheel they initially diagnose my car as “it if definitely the belts in you car” and charged me $340.00 to get them changed. So i said fine if that is the issue then change them. only for them to change them and was like just kidding its your alternator not your belts and that going to be $600.00 to change out. I denied the alternator work and when they gave me back my car it had way more issues than when I dropped it off and they refused to take responsibility for it. After I got home I called them they said “ well what do you want me to do” being very rude and disrespectful. The next day my car randomly shut down on my and now i am out of a car. The staff was rude, disrespectful, laughed in my face, and did nothing to fix the issue they initially sounded nice until I told them how my car was returned to me with more issues. I would never go here again and hopefully you reading this will help you save your car and wallet from making the same mistake I did. I am not sure about any other firestone but this specific location I would not recommend to anyone.
***ATTENTION*** If you hate your car and want to destroy it, bring it to firestone. They will make your wish come true. BEWARE before using or buying their services especially their lifetime alignment, because it's a scam. Couple months ago, I brought my car to them for an alignment due to vibration at high speed. Guess what, they did not align the wheels like they said they did. They did give me the print out showing my wheels specs of before and after the alignment to show that they did their work. But the thing is, the specs on the print out were manipulated by the technician. My car still had the same vibration issue. I then brought my car to a reputable dealership to have it inspected. They found that my front wheels are out of alignment and there was excessive wear on the inner of the front tires. The jam nuts on the tire rod that used to adjust the wheels were completely seized and there was no sign of being touched for a very long time. After having new tire rods replaced and a real alignment by an honest technician at the dealership, the vibration issue were fixed. Again, if you want to RUIN your CAR, firestone is the best place to take it to.
I drove down from Omaha to check out a used Subaru and had the guys here check it out. Jeff, Brandon, and Chris went absolutely ABOVE AND BEYOND for my girlfriend and I in not only showing us that the car was a lemon with a rotting rear ball joint and $3,000 in needed repairs but they took the time to give advice, tips, and help. Contrary to what some of these reviews are saying, these guys aren’t some money-hungry up-sellers. I can tell so because (1) they only charged me a quarter of the price for me Full Vehicle Inspection, and (2) the guys weren’t trying to just do their job and shove me out the door so that they could get to their next job. Again, like others have mentioned, they took and take the time to explain, articulate, advise, and get to know you. In short, these guys act more like friendly small town mechanics than what you would expect for a chain business in a major city. I’d bring these guys back to Omaha if I could, so if you’re in KC then Jeff, Brandon, and Chris are the guys you want here at this Firestone! Thanks again to each of those three guys for the help!
I have been to this Firestone before and had excellent customer service. Today was another great experience. I had a flat tire and had dropped of at a Big O Tires to be fixed. Big O called me 2.5 hours later to tell me that their computer was wrong and they didnt actually have my tire. I called Firestone and they told me they had six different options for my size tire. I picked up my tire from Big O and drove straight to Firestone. When I pulled up l, one of the employees had just pulled up another car next to mine and he asked if I wanted him to carry the tire for me, which was very nice. (I had already carried it in and out of Big O, by myself.) Then I went in and they rang me up and had my car loaded with the fixed tire in 8 minutes! Big O had told me it would be 40 minutes, but it was over 2 hours, before they called to tell me they didn't even have my tire! I will return to Firestone from this point forward, because not only were they cheaper, but their customer service us excellent. I cant speak for all Firestone's, but this one on Madison Ave. has a great manager.
I don't normally leave reviews unless the service was amazing or crappy. In this case it was crap. I'm very picky on where I take my car. I normal take it to Maywood Auto repair. Sometimes its hard to get it to Independence. I take it here. First few repairs on my car was great. They aren't bad on their prices and I like the warranty I get with Firestone. I was told my swing bar link needs to be repair. I wait till I had extra money to get it replace. I drop my car off last Saturday. I was shock how quickly they got it repair. After picking up my car. The car seems to be driving so much better. Until Sunday, the car start making same noise again. I called them, they ask me bring it back on Thursday. I wasn't able make it on Thursday. We setup another appointment for Sunday (today). I get up to the shop. They tell me they have no appointment for me today. I can drop the car off and puck it up in 3 to 4 HOURS!!! I would have to walk home in rain! Instead I walk out and took it to another location!
I had a blowout. sales rep tried to tell me all my tires needed replaced. I declined and purchased a pair. 2 weeks later the lip above the wheel began separating away from the sidewall on the brand new right tire. I did not hit anything, so I assumed this was a manufacturers defect.I called the nearest firestone and they told me I had to return to the place of purchase for my warranty, which is false but I complied anyway. the rep at the original location claims that this damage to the tire is definitely the result of abuse and is not covered under warranty. When I contradicted his claim, he insulted my knowledge and implied I was trying to rob him. I requested a proration on a replacement and he said I declined the road hazard warranty so I couldn't do anything but buy a brand new tire at full price. I was never offered road hazard, nor informed that the tire did not come with such a warranty. only come here if you want to be ripped off, insulted, and lied to.
Close to $500 went to Firestone to get rotors and pad done for rear breaks. They stated they have a warantee/ performed a full "INSPECTION" of said breaks. A few months later we returned to envoke the warranty because grinding occurred in the same back breaks that they allegedly "fixed" only months prior and they stated the guarantee wouldn't cover the breaks due to the problem being with the calibers. If there was a problem with the calibers when they did the breaks originally this problem should have been detected with the "inspection" the first time! The current problem with the breaks occurred because Firestone didnt reconnect them properly per our local mechanic we usually go to. In our wait to try and get this same issue fixed the break line has now leaked and thank goodness our kids were not in the car when this happened! Absolutely furious at the "service" we received and would highly NOT recommend you take your car to Firestone.
Unfortunately I can't rate it at less than one star. Last week I took my truck to Firestone on Barry Rd for an inspection. They called later and said it needed a new lower ball joint and the front brakes were shot and the rotors were so bad they couldn't resurface them. The total would be $1021. I had not felt any problems with the brakes and the truck had been serviced with everything checked out just 3 months ago. I said no and took it to my local dealer to get their opinion. The dealer said nothing is wrong and charged me just the $12 for the inspection. Maybe Firestone has tougher rules on what passes inspection but I doubt it. More likely they need to create x amount of business per franchise and they knew I only had a short time to get my tags renewed so they figured they could get me to say ok to their unneeded service. Too bad since they are close to my house but I will not be back FOR ANYTHING.
A few years ago I wanted new tires on the front of my vehicle. Guy argued with me I wanted on the back. Nothing wrong with the back tires, finally after i said I will go somewhere else he agreed. About a year later I told him about a squeak underneath when it is wet it did not do it. When it was dry it did. They wanted to sell me struts. I disagreed with the diagnose. They told me to take to a dealer then. I did turned out to be the parking brake cable going through a eye wore off, cost me nothing to have looked at. Last week I called and ordered 2 tires said they would be in Wednesday or Thursday. I called Thursday they said they were there. Went Saturday to get. Was told they were not there. Was told the guy who ordered them would call me. Well it is Monday and still no call. I worked for firestone years ago. I have dealt with many firestones since then. This is the worst one I ever dealt with
I'm really impressed by these guys. I've had my tires and oil changes done here, and everyone is very efficient and courteous, and the waiting area is clean and comfortable. Also, when you're in a pinch, they'll get you in quickly. I had to get my front right wheel bearing replaced, and I got it in on a Saturday at noon; they were finished by 5:00. They also found that the other wheel bearing was bad. I'm usually very skeptical when it comes to mechanics telling me things without verifying, so after I drove it around that evening, I found that they were right. I brought it in that next day (a busy Sunday) and they got me right in and took care of it by the end of the day. Chris was great to work with and understood my frustration, and even worked with me a bit on price (it wasn't much, but it was definitely helpful). I will definitely be going back.
**You are playing Russian roulette with your vehicle by taking it here** I took my wife's car in for new breaks and an oil change. After changing the oil and replacing the breaks, they took the car for a test drive and when doing so the engine locked. They told us that the previous oil was bad and that's what caused the issue. They would not replace the engine even after showing proof that the 2015 (under 80,000 miles) vehicle has had proper maintenance from our Chevy dealership and consistent oil changes with full synthetic oil when needed. Again, we had no oil leaks or engine issues prior to event, we had proof of proper maintenance of the vehicle, It's a relatively new vehicle with low millage, and now we have $15,000 OF EXTRA DEBT!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!!
If I could I wouldn’t even leave 1 star review. Terrible customer service. Literally made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation showed up for my appointment only to find out there was never an appointment made and somehow was deleted off the system. No one took the blame or admitting someone made a mistake and didn’t offer any apology. I didn’t just show up for an appointment so this was very upsetting. Staff super rude. I did make another appointment however when I called to cancel was asked by the staff if I wanted to reschedule my response was NO. As I was explaining because I won’t be coming back for any future services because of the incident the person on the phone just hung up on me. That goes to show how much they care.
Great phone customer service! I haven't been to the shop, but just spent 15 minutes on the phone with Evan asking questions about services & tires. He patiently went above & beyond to explain the answers to my questions & why certain services should be done. I had service at a different Firestone location all my adult life, but they were busy today so I gave this location a call for what I needed to know. Next time I'm in KC I might stop in just to personally thank Evan for being highly knowledgeable about all the detailed technical specs I needed. He also gave me a few other questions to ask for future services I never knew to ask! Thank you for the 15-minute education you just gave me Evan & have a great day!
This weekend I had my third experience with this Firestone. I am choosy when it comes to my automotive service to begin with and if I have become impressed enough to leave a review (a 5 star one at that) means something. The employees here are the epitome of helpful. They are courteous. They also know what they are talking about. They do what they say and are trustworthy. They even replaced a master cylinder cover this weekend during routine service because it obviously was missing and they had done the brake work on my Jeep in August. That saved me $34.99 plus tax on the part and comped it to me although the brakes were worked on 5 months ago. Thanks guys. I will see you again in 3,000 miles.
I come here for all my regular maintenance but needed to fix a flat tire this time. I spoke with Adam at the desk who took a look at the bad tire and recommended a replacement due to the nature of the damage. He said they could get the car in that day. Shane then serviced the tire and even secured the spare into its storage compartment when he was done. Without my even asking, they also performed an alignment while they had it (I have the lifetime alignment package so no charge; it's an awesome deal.). The whole thing was finished promptly within a couple hours. Adam and Shane took great care of me and my car as everybody here always does. It's a great place and I will continue to come here.
Be careful going to this Firestone, they will try to milk you for as much as they can. Service reps. were very nice and got me in for a state inspection in order for me to register/title my vehicle in MO. Quoted me $1,500 for "necessary" fixes before they could pass my inspection including tie rods and CV axle replacements. Seemed fishy so I got a second opinion at my regular mechanic shop and they said everything checked out and passed my vehicle. I just wanted a quick vehicle safety inspection but the mechanics here wanted to take as much as possible. Good thing I'm not clueless about vehicles and knew that what they were stating was not accurate. Go at your own risk.
Terrible business I spent good money on 4 brand new tires. The next morning one of my tires was flat. When I took it back in they told me my rim was cracked (which it was not prior to drop off). They then said it was probably cracked before they put the tires on. When I asked them why they had put the tires onto a broken rim they got very defensive and told us to leave and the tech named Shane followed us out to our vehicles wanting to fight me and when my mom asked for his name he shove his name tag (still attached to his body) in her face and screamed I'm GOD. Not a very good look for the supposed "top mechanic at firestone for the last 10 years."
If you’re not sure what’s wrong with your car, don’t come here. I came in for one issue that I’ve been noticing. They took about an hour and were not able to figure out what was wrong with it, without a “$100 diagnostic”. -another auto shop in the area offers this for a much lower rate. They proceeded to list out a number of unrelated and unnecessary services totaling $3000! Roughly $700 related to getting new tires alone, which they told me themselves that my tires are fine right now but new “would be recommend.” None of the items were what I came in about. I declined service because they were trying to take advantage of their customer.
Great Guys, Five stars just isn't enough. I've been in the Auto industry for 25years and I had a tough time looking for a Shop to handle the service work Im not able to do anymore , and to the level of professionalism I expect. Hay im realistic nobody's perfect.. Not even Me ! But I highly recommend that you visit this Location and give the guys an honest shot at earning your business. I do believe that you will not be let down. And the bathroom's are always clean ! Great places like this are hard to find. And a special thanks to Evan and Shane. You guys have earned my business.
The snow had damaged and undercarriage piece on my vehicle that normally has to be removed during oil changes. I stopped in Firestone and inquired about an oil change and I told them about my undercarriage protector being damaged and they said that they would be happy to take that off for me even though it was a little waded up and cantankerous to deal with. I asked him to go ahead and do an oil change while they were there and they did so and even offered a discount coupon on my behalf which help me with my total I bill. I really appreciate the service at this Firestone.
They are always polite and update you the entire time you are waiting. I took my chiweenie, Charlie up with me because I wasn't feeling good and didn't want to go by myself. He's not a service dog officially, but he is my lifeline. I expected to wait outside with him but they said no, to bring him in and wait. He behaved so well and was quiet and calm. It means a lot that they let him in with me. Some days are really hard with my health and it brings me a lot of anxiety and having him there really helps when I can. Great bunch of guys up there. All animal lovers!
Went in for my state inspection. The failed it saying the rear control arms needed replaced. We took it to our dealership in Kansas to have fixed. The mechanic did a full look through the vehicle to see if there was anything else that needed fixed. When we returned for our second inspection they then claimed the front control arms needed replaced. And when I asked them to show me what they were finding the mechanic had an “I’m better than you attitude”. I’m just not sure how something that passed the first time all of a sudden failed a few days later.
I want to thank the firestone crew for their honesty today. A previous shop called Goodmans Auto in Platte City I went to for an inspection failed me and said I needed break pads replaced to pass attempting to get money out of me. I brought my car into firestone because they gave me the lowest price out of everyone I called. All to find out that I should not have failed my inspection for my break pads as they had plenty of time left on them. Thank you Firestone crew for your honesty and I will definitely keep you in mind when it comes to car troubles.
I had a screw in my truck tire and took it in to get repaired. I left the tire on the truck and drove over there for they have a better equipment to remove my tire than I do. The customer service guy told me they would not repair my tire unless the tire was already off the truck which did not make any since at all since they have the tools to do so. All other places would have done this for me no problem. So if you are in need of a tire repair don't expect a firestone technician from this shop to remove or put back on the tire for you.
I just went in after reading reviews as always before i go anywhere so this is real for anyone out there reading. I was told by discount tires my brakes were bad so i walked into firestone and they did free brake inspection and said i didnt need brakes for another at least 10000 miles. Plus they were cheaper with discount on oil change than jiffy lube for synthetic change. The guys were honest and very friendly and all together was there maybe an hour. So wonderful will definately go here now on and recommend to my people.
Went in to find what was causing a coolent leak they inspected it within 20 min of dropping it off. Thought that was a lil fast but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Once I arrived back they told me I needed to replace everything the radiator, water pump, cap ect..wanted $1600 . So took it to my dealer for a second opinion turns out just the thermostat was a bit loose causing it to leak and wasn’t charged a penny. Be careful of this place Always get a 2nd opinion I almost spent $1600 I didn’t need to!!
I had an appointment with Firestone for an oil change and to look over my car. They had what I wanted done in an acceptable amount of time and money. The front workers checked me in and then went over what work I requested. They gave me an estimate. After the mechanics looked over my car they came back to me with suggestions as what needed to be done if not now but in the near future. I was impressed with the courtesy they gave to me as well as the other costumers. I will definitely use them again.
MICHEAL AND STEVE WERE FANTASTIC! we came to KC to go to a reptile expo, but i messed up where it was and so we gave up and decided to head home. After getting back on the highway our rear driver side tire went flat! So we swapped for the spare and took ourselves to the nearest firestone as we have an account with them. Michael up front was honest and accurate and steve was attentive and quick, we watched shrek while these fine folks got our new car squared away with a new tire. Many many thanks!
Make sure you go with a male who looks “manly” they take advantage of woman especially assuming they don’t understand what’s wrong. They told me several things were wrong with my car and pushed to get the work done ASAP when I knew they were lying. Several items I had just replaced within the year that they claimed were horrific condition. I took to another shop who literally showed me the parts and how there were no damage. This company is absolutely disgusting and prey on others to get money.
This place is great for changing your oil. Fortunately enough I can do the tire rotations, brake pad changes myself, and a few other basic things car maintenance things. When it comes to the oil I just don't have the required tools to make this a simple job and I would prefer not to go underneath a low car that I can't fit under without jacking it up (safety reasons of course). It has been a little while since my last visit, but I do intend to continue using them for the car oil changes.
I use CarAdvise to schedule an appointment at this Firestone for an oil and filter for Friday 1:00 pm which was approved. Arrived there to be told that that online appts are on conditional basis and that they were booked until Wednesday. This is 2nd time I have gotten the runaround from this Firestone on an appt. Getting tired of their excuses. Also, the customer service representative wasn’t wearing a mask at all despite multiple local government requiring that businesses enforce masks.
My husband and I were having an issue with one of nitrogen air-filled tires. We were having a tough time finding a place open that could take a gander at our tires that same day (around 5:30pm so some places were closed.) Thankfully, in less than an hour, we got our tire repaired and didn't have to pay an outrageous amount of money to do so. The lobby had several places to sit while you wait and my favorite Marvel movie happened to be playing while waiting so it went by quickly.
They are liars and thieves! I came here to get my car inspected. They told me that my brakes were bad even though I had replaced them 6 months prior. They wanted to charge me $300 to fix it. I then took my car over to The Maintenance Shop to get inspected and asked them about my brakes. They told me that my brakes were completely fine and found a REAL problem with my car, which they actually sent pictures of to my email. I highly recommend that everyone avoids Firestone.
Took my brothers car in here for a tire replacement, technician would not just do one tire, claimed the car was AWD and needed all the tires replaced. Keep in mind his car is a FWD Pontiac Aztek, it did NOT have the versatrak option. Had to charge it all to credit because that was out of my brothers price range. Horrible service and they only care about making their commission and not helping you out. Will never take any of my vehicles to a firestone location again.
My husband stopped by an hour and half before they closed to see if they could quickly check out our tires with our new-used vehicle. With three guys there and one vehicle inside the shop we got turned down and they didn’t want our business. It’s unfortunate because we have used this location in the past for a lifetime alignment on our previous vehicles. We went instead down to Costco who closes around the same time and they balanced and rotated our tires.
I would give zero stars if I could. Made 2 appointments for early in the morning for oil changes on both of my vehicles 2 weeks in advance. Came in on time for the appointments and dropped both cars off. Have waited for 6 hours, and they still haven't even gotten to either of my vehicles. Appointments mean nothing to them. They could not have prioritized customers any worse. This is the worst service experience I've ever had at a Firestone by far.
I know Firestone may be slightly higher priced then others. However their service is second to none. I need my car to be in top shape as I travel for work, I completely trust this company. Their staff is extremely awesome and their work is as well. I also more then appreciate them airing up my tires today , I honestly have no clue how to do that. I walked in, and they helped me right away. I am thankful to the entire staff, top self people.
Informative but rude. I could only afford 2 front tires due to them balding. Told me they could only replace all four for 500 then we're guilting me calling me a danger to the road when I told them multiple times I could only afford to replace the front tires. I get it's not recommended and it might cause problems, but I don't need to be guilted about it, especially when I've already got bald front tires. Avoiding this place from here on.
Totally love this Firestone and the people running it. Only reason for four star is ahead new tires put on my Baja and somebody put a tire on the hood and put a scrape on my hood. Thank goodness it wasn't very big. These people get things done as soon as they can and when they say they're going to do it. Appointment times are usually kept like they should be, on time. They have also taken care of me when I have had and Avis Rental Car.
I went to this palce for checkup on my car. It was my first time using Firestone Auto Care and by my experience , it's gone be my last. For starters, they charged me $107 for the checkup, which seemed a rip-off giving all they did was scan with A obd2 and check oil levels. In addition , I had to wait about 2 and half hours because their "checkup" guy was busy or some other cockamamie reason.Shoulda went somewhere else...
I bought a pair of tires and have them installed it. The package consists of a free wheel alignment check. It was part of the estimate (on paper) I was there on the shop and saw the tires installed and rolled going into the parking lot without any wheel alignment check being performed. When I asked if they performed the check they just said it was OK. There's not even any print out of any alignment check being performed.
After Tires Plus and a Firestone location on Vivion Rd told me it would be 2-3 hours to repair a tire on my car under warranty. This location replaced the tire in about 15 minutes even though they had about eight customers getting service. The other Firestone had one customer there when they told me it would be 2-3 hours to fix my tire. I will be buying tires at the Barry Rd location from now on. SUPER GREAT SERVICE
I had brake pads and rotors replaced about a year ago. I started having problems with the car shaking several months ago but just now had a chance to take it in. Even though the warranty was up Firestone stood behind their work and replaced the brakes and rotors for free. Leo and everyone there went above and beyond to help me out and make things right. Not many companies do that anymore. Thank you!
Good old-fashioned customer service. The store was super clean. Efficiency and professionalism was consistent with each employee observed. Interactions felt sincere. All questions addressed. Walked away with reassurance and trust that our car needs were being handled by the very best. Will continue to have our vehicle maintenance here as needed. Thank you for a good experience.
Nice enough people but just no trouble shooting skills. I took my car back twice, told them both time what the issue was and they just told me it all checked out OK. Took it somewhere else and guess what? Yup exactly what I told them was the issue. Great place for tires and oil changes but if you need anything else I recommend taking it to real mechanic
I placed 1 star because the staff was nice. I had two front flats needing repaired. Paid $65 to get them both "fixed". Drove off. Next day, car was sitting on its rim again. But this time completely flat. I waited an hour and a half this time to get it fixed, after 2 hours then day prior. Nonetheless. They made it right, but the work wasnt superior.
My experience was best captured as "Honest mechanics". I asked about an issue and didn't get a make money answer, it was the facts and make your own decision converaation.Overall pleased with the good service and staff that explained the work they were doing in great detail prior to doing the work. Will be back for future works needed.
Got an inspection and they failed the car because of a tie rod, sway bar link and wiper blades. All of the parts are good, I know that for a fact. The wiper blades were literally brand new, just put them on last week. They just want to "replace" parts that are perfectly fine. What a waste of time and money! Don't get scammed by them!
I called and spoke to Chris. He was very helpful with information and asked me to bring the car over. He explained everything and was very informative and apologetic that he was not able to get the tires replaced today due to it being out of stock. He stated that he would be able to get them tomorrow. He was super helpful.
While visiting from out of town, one of our tires began to lose significant pressure. We went in, and they plugged and patched the nail hole, and then took a good look at the other three tires to be sure they were okay. All of this took about 45 minutes, and the people couldn't have been nicer. I'd highly recommend them!
twice they have told my wife she needs new tires. when it was an alignment that needed to be adjusted after the tires are put on they say well u would of needed tires soon we have lifetime alignment. they must be under new management they use to be my favorite place to get work on our vehicles. but not anymore!!!!
We do most of our car care here. They are reasonably quick with oil changes. We have purchased tires here with lifetime balance and alignment and use that service. They are helpful and keep you informed. I never feel taken advantage of. When they tell me my car needs something, I trust them to be honest about it.
Friendly staff and knowledgeable mechanics. Prices on some service are a little higher Than other places but quality is probably better here. Went in for tire rotation. Total time 47min. Cons: apparently there is no longer free WiFi in waiting area. Didn’t see any notices for a password but maybe have to ask...
Jeremy is a great honest guy. He helped me out when I had car troubles while on a trip there in Kansas City labor day weekend. I live in MN, you can imagine how scary it is to have car trouble while hundreds of miles away from home and not know good mechanics. Thank you for your help, you are awesome!
I spent over 700.00 on a set of Firestone tires 6 years ago and are sun rotted they don't have 15000 miles on them and now Firestone tells me no warranty after 5 years pretty sad I thought Firestone made good tires and stood behind there stuff I guess not wont be buying tires there again
My daughter went in thier and was ripped off - first of all lied too and said thr tire couldn't be patched - who patches tires today Then sold 2 tires for a toy rav for over 400$ Women beware - this place is a ripped off !! Shame on you ! All about the dough - women beware
Took my car in to get my tires swapped out. Took a bit longer than expected but nothing too crazy. I then brought my car in for an inspection and that didn't take too long either. I'm suspicious of the other reviews left at this store, but so far, nothing bad for me
Went in for an oil change and thought I needed a tire, too. Turned out I did not. And they were very honest with me. They could have easily just taken my money. Turns out.. I don't know how to air my own tires right. I'm working on it. Thanks you guys. …
Very friendly service. Walked us through all of our options checked for additional options that were not present in screen to get us exactly what we needed. Didn't upsell after we stayed what we were looking for. Quick quality work done on our vehicle.
Good car repair store. Knowledge of car repair extensive. Offers a 6 month financing option if the amount is too much to pay off immediately. Service managers keep you aware of work going on and what it will cost. Coffee and waiting area is good.
The service was great! They were informative & helpful. They didn't try to sell me services I didn't need either (on my new vehicle). I called hours prior to going & they remembered my issues/questions. I didn't have an apt & was still able
Ordered four brand new tires at just after 11:00 Am and was told that they were being shipped locally and wouldn’t take any time to come in so I go and eat then check in with them at about 3 o’clock no tires..... then they called at 5 just
I asked did they put on tire pressure sensors and the reply I got was we do but it $110 dollars maybe you should go to the dealership, I was livid because she act like I didn't have the money a customer will tell you if the have it or not
Seen a lot of negative reviews about this place and damn near scared me away; not sure why because my experience was positive granted I'm also mechanically inclined to a degree and have to ability to snuff out bad lazy mechanics. After
My car ended up having more problems than anticipated, and Firestone fixed the issues while keeping in good communication with me about what was going on. They were upfront about pricing and checked with me before starting any repairs.
We've come here several times. Chris is a gem and always helpful. They are overloaded with work, yet he takes time to slow down and explain things thoroughly. Did I mention they offer military discounts?! Found my tire place for life!
As usually oil change did not take a long time. They honor your appointment time. General manager Jeremy and Chris are the best when it comes to customer service and professionalism. Been coming here since moving to KCMo 7 yrs ago.
They would not mount a tire because, "It's a 2012"....(Good condition, no weather rot, lots of tread left) boyfriend is TIA certified. Wanted to sell us a new tire instead of ACTUALLY helping. Make sure we'll never go there again.
I wouldn't buy tires from Firestone. They are overpriced and they wear out so they talk you into buying more. They don't let you use your spares you bought from them if you blow a tire.... they want you to buy new. 900.00 a pop
This place is great! Every time I’ve had to come here, the associates are so friendly, helpful and informative. They explain everything in a way that makes it easy to understand, especially if you’re not car-savvy like myself.
Great service. We had a flat tire due to a piece of metal. We dropped the car off for the repair and was told it might be a couple of hours. Received a call within 30 minutes that the tire was repaired and ready for pickup.
Do not use this business. Don't waste your time and money. Go elsewhere! Bad service, unable to complete repair, and overpriced. When you question the work done, the technician tries to start a fight the lobby. Stay away.
Fast and helped me in a pinch! Pricey but the excellent service was worth it. Every representative I talked to was super friendly and made me comfortable working with them despite being my first visit. Thank you guys!
A lovely employee named Chris went out of his way, in his own vehicle, to find us winter tires during a snow storm. The service itself took a bit, but they threw in plenty of courtesy services Would highly recommend.
The guys and gals at this location best I have worked with in 17 years. Had knot on tire got me in immediately and back on road less than 45 minutes from initial call 5 miles away to tire on balanced and back on road
Took my car in for an alignment and got it back with a crooked steering wheel. Needless to say the job was not done correctly. Now having to take a second trip to get it done right (hopefully). Would not recommend
They missed my Veterans discount, missed a bunch of work and made some stuff worse, waiting to see if they make it right. They are not like back in the day when they double check and have someone behind them.
Needed inspection, came in and told them about bad experience at big o tires with appointment! Very understanding and was told less than 3 hours! The exceptional staff got me in and done in 30 min!! WOW!!!
Tried selling us tires on oil change, took to second opinion and tires were fine. Don't buy tires there. They don't last long & even before they do show wear, they try to sell you more. Do not recommend!
Great service. Made an appointment at the last minute and they were able to work me in. Very friendly folks working there. Quick and perfectly done. Will go back for my oil changes and tire service.
l always have a great experience with the staff at Firestone. They are fast and very good at what they do. Shane Cook really knows his cars and is great at explaining what is going on with my car.
BUYER BEWARE! This Firestone Dealership changed the oil in my son's car in May...and then engine locked up when they took it out for a test drive around the block! They're saying it's his fault!
I love the fact that I walk in a d I am greeted by name. The staff takes great care of me and my vehicle. I trust them implicitly when the make recommendations and are always willing to help
They balanced the tires I got from Firestone twice and they are still out of balance. They won’t squeeze me in to fix the error. The first appointment is a week out. Super friendly staff.
I brought my truck in for a new radiator and brought my truck home leaking transmission fluid…lesson learned don’t take your vehicle to tire guys unless it’s tires you need ♀️ …
Great job fixing the brakes on my 1992 Ford Bronco. 700.00 repair incl replacing master cylinder and the brakes are like new. Had to apply and get a Firestone card to pay over time.
Would not recommend. I had an appointment for a pretty common car, they didn't have the oil filter in stock, took two hours to complete the work, and left my "change oil light" on.
Awesome service. I had a flat and not only did they fix it promptly and professionally, they made sure they had a fallback option in case they couldn't patch the tire.
The engine seized in my son's car after this Firestone performed an oil change. The engine locked while they were test driving it around the neighborhood!! Horrible!
They messed up my alignment 2 times . I thought it was fixed after the 2nd time but 3 months later and the inside of my new tires are shot . Would not recommend
Watch out for hidden charges. Tried to charge my son thousands of dollars for brakes. Told him 840 then price went to 1400 and the customer service just sucks
Wonderful, helpful staff! Helped with an emergency problem, and without having an appointment. Very conscientious and very professional. Will go back to them!
My daughter drove our van for a year and then left it for dead. John was extremely helpful in getting my Chrysler Town and Country safely back on the road.
Excellent customer service. Knowledgeable about cars. Takes the time to explain the issues and your options. Long flexible work hours everyday of the week.
