Visited 7-18-21. Really huge and amazing selection. Very well organized by category but you have to dig for sizes. It was my first time to ever buy by the pound. It was more expensive than I thought. I wish there had been a scale or two set out so I could gauge how much I was spending. (If there was, other than at the cashier and I missed it- my bad) That said, I found UT shirts for the Longhorn fan in our family and Disney t-shirts I was looking for for an upcoming Florida trip at a huge discount from what the park would charge and loaded up. So many vintage and unique items. Don’t miss this one when thrifting in Austin!!!
honestly the only reason I think it deserves 2 stars is bc the cost is so affordable you pay by the weight and I found some nice pieces I like. I've never been here so I wasn’t sure how it worked and when I approached a worker with a question she was like so incredibly rude. I feel like maybe she shouldn’t be working customer service she looked miserable, was very short and irritated with me and didn't say goodbye or really respond when I said have a good day. Like I’m from the midwest and even we are nicer. plus its not the cleanest thrift I’ve been to so if that bothers you theres better in Austin.
Well this is classic but people need to be aware. Came in, i am black, no hello nothing no big deal right? Then immediately behind me enters white customers and what do you know? Bigg Hellos!! How are you? I thought hmmmm let me just play a lil game and see. Could have just been timing. White customers leave and it's a feast of Thanks guys! Have a great night. I exit. Welp you guessed it: crickets. Now that kind of stuff doesn't bother me too much. After all it it is Texas. However maybe this will help people decide to spend their money in a lil more open environments ;)
When I first came in, I was confused if there was any employee working. There was no greeting nor did I see anyone on the floor except other customers. It wasn’t until I peaked behind the counter that I saw someone sitting. Kinda weird imo. I would say compare to the other stores in the area, this is the most affordable. I got a silk shirt for $5! Also, the clothes are a bit older & true vintage. Otherwise, it’s a little cramped. I’d go again just for the price.
The employees are rude, one dropped my change ( coins ) on the floor and laughed and said sorry and then turned around to continue to talk to another employee.. I also came out the dressing room and she said hey hey can u open it back up? [ so other customers can use it ] idk, the rude talk was what really got to me. I am not from Austin so coming here just to get some attitude really felt like a waste of time. Wide selection, ugly employees
Absolutely the best thrift store I have found here in Austin .the selection is amazing , if your into vintage dresses this is the place to go, beautiful pieces and it's wallet friendly. I have gone to other stores and the prices are outrageous for something that has already been used. I will be coming back without my hubby so I can spend all day shopping here! And get some good outfits for my Instagram page.
This place reminds me of a snobby restaurant with no prices on the menu. You may want to bring your own scale to gauge your budget. If you go up to the counter a few times to ask the price on something and don’t buy it, you may get a eye roll. If you’re lucky enough, the employee in charge of the music selection will play a punk song about how cheap you are. Well played mam, well played. (Slow clap)
If i could give zero stars i would because the employees looked like they did not want to be there, hangers and clothes on the floor a lot ! I'm the type of person where if i drop the clothes from the hanger i pick it up ! Or if it's just hanging from the hanger i try to fix it. When I first came in no one greeted us the only great thing about this place is the parking lot and the price on the clothes !
This is a pretty cool shop for used and retro clothing. It's basically what you would get if someone sorted through the local Goodwill for the stuff that you might actually wear, organized it by style and Era, and sold it by the pound... And, that's pretty much Flamingo's in a nutshell. My teenage kid loves this place and so does my wallet.
This is a pretty in interesting vintage clothing store with a unique policy of selling clothes by the pound. Though this does not necessarily make clothes cheap, it is a novel and fun concept. This place has quite a retro vibe and has a lot of cool finds. If you like this type of clothing, you should definitely check Flamingos out.
Pricing by weight can turn out more expensive than other thrift stores but I love how they organize and categorize everything. If you're looking for a specific item, like for a costume or party, this is a good place for it. Need a silk robe? Overalls? Hawaiian shirt? Retro jacket? Something tie dyed? It'll be easy to find here.
An amazing new addition to the Austin thrifting scene! You could spend all day going through their racks finding fun and unique pieces! My favorite place to find cool western boots because the per pound price is so insanely affordable! You may not find something every time but you’ll always have a great afternoon shopping.
Store hires people to sit in the parking lot and puts boots on people's cars, $150 a pop. Watched them do it to an old lady going into the CVS next door to pick up her medications.... Great way to show your a local business, for local customers. Would spend $1000 elsewhere before spending $.01 here for that alone.
This is the only real vintage store around. They have a really good selection of clothing, you might have to dig a little to find something you really like, but the pricing is amazing. Can easily put together an outfit for <$20. The cashiers are also really sweet and will help you pick something if you ask :)
LOVE IT. such great prices for what your getting. not goodwill prices if that’s what you’re looking for but they’re on the cheaper side. the amount of clothes you’re able to get is definitely worth it and they have a great selection and friendly staff. i’m definitely coming back and shopping again. :)
Do you need a Hawaiian shirt?? I bought 2 lol. I love how well organized this store is. A whole rack of fun windbreakers and another of overalls. Prices are more than reasonable for a curated vintage store and you still get a little sense of finding a diamond in the rough. …
This is a must-stop if you're coming to Austin. There is a whole row of vintage stores in this area, so the atmosphere is really fun. Love that they sort by type of item--sequins, leather, denim--makes the experience really great if you have an idea of what you're looking for.
My sister and I love this store. My favorite finds are the old school rock shirts and the upcycled crop tops!! Who ever it is that makes the crop tops is awesome. It's giving an old shirt a new life and keeps more trash out of the landfill. You must check this place out!
Nice vintage clothing store with a huge selection to choose from. Prices are low and depend on the weight of your items. Only downside is that most of the stuff in here hasn’t moved in months and probably won’t for even longer. Must visit if you enjoy thrifting!
Selection is nice, and prices are decent, but every time I've gone in, the people behind the register don't have a mask pulled over their face. I'd love to keep going here but it makes me really uncomfortable when they ring up my clothes without a mask.
Really disappointed after reading all the good reviews & finding semi cute pieces in terrible condition. Even my husband found Levi jeans he liked but quickly realized they all had stains on them. I go thrifting a lot & this place was a huge let down.
Apparently this store isn’t for people of color, because your not greeted like others when you walk in. Saw this store on TikTok and wanted to check it out..never again! Sorry I’m not into being belittled when I’m spending my hard earned money
Absolutely fantastic. Customer service is great (I personally like to shop on my own) so I love to be asked like once or twice, which is what they do and I love that. There is SO much to choose from and everything is organized perfectly. I
I went here out of curiosity and was blown away by the selection! Not only do they have good deals on everything as well as dollar racks. They are reasonably priced! But the best part was the customer service, I went by myself and needed a
Not for me bit my kids loved it. The clothes sell by pound and they have a lot of variety. Kids were looking for authentic Texas vests and she found one. It's too dingy and small for me though. So If you are into thrifting this is for you!!
Great selection of true vintage pieces. I found my prom dress here and am so happy with it. Prices are good but you have to do some hunting through the racks to find what you’re looking for. Pretty well organized and staff was friendly.
Friendly staff that greeted us when we came in and explained how things work. I didn't love the selection, but we did find a couple of t-shirts that came out to be less expensive than I thought. Great spot if you like to dig for stuff.
The organization of the store is awesome. For insurance all of the of the overalls are on one round rack. They followed mask and social distancing practices, which I appreciated. Plus dedicated parking on Guadalupe.
It’s a bit expensive, but one of the coolest vintage shops I’ve ever seen. Soooo many treasures here & just an overall cool shop to visit. My best friend & I found some knarly Harley shirts, definitely will be back!
Terrible customer service. Did not look up from their conversation to address a customer. Too worried about each other’s gossip to acknowledge a customer. The most disrespectful employees I’ve ever encountered.
I personally thought the selection would be a little nicer, it’s pretty much like a good will just a nicer aesthetic. They had some good vintage finds but $100 for a graphic tee, not worth it for me.
Awesome place to get clothing as long as you keep a keen eye out! My only complaint is that sizes could be labeled better, but that's only a minor inconvenience. Very affordable!
They have a lot of clothing but it's not the highest quality and it can be a bit overwhelming to sort through everything they have. You definitely can't find some gems though.
Given 2 stars because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to how the clothes are organized. All sizes thrown in together, men's and ladies mixed. Frustrating to shop here.
Great vintage clothing store! There are many in this area, but this store has the most variety, largest selection, and is the most cost effective. Win, win, win!
Small, some cute true 'vintage' pieces if you're under a size 16. But if you're plus size like me, (size 20/22) unfortunately not worth the look.
Vintage and thrift clothing shop with buying by the pound. Interesting way to price merchandise and a little challenging to gauge your spending.
this is a true thrift store that sells by the pound. They don’t have high quality, everything is cheap, but you’re buying it for a low cost.
It’s a great store w awesome selection curated for the discerning customer. And the murals outside are great too! Good photo opportunity!
Horrible ran business and not only extremely rude but very racist, unacceptable for an establishment to be this way!! …
Very cool selections and well organized. Free parking. Very high prices and most aren't clear is the cost until you check out.
Best thrift store I’ve ever shopped! Awesome selection and pricing! Also great customer service - they treated us very well.
Great prices & pieces. If you like digging a little to find something that fits you just right, plz check this place out
Not too shabby! Lots of nostalgic clothing plus it isn't too costly like the other places across the street from them.
They don’t do returns or exchanges. The very least they could do is store credit and they don’t even do that. :/
Extremely rude and racist . I have never experienced such horrible service . You lost a lot of customers today.
i come here every now and then and i love it. i get all my graphic tees here bc they’re usually one of a kind
Not to snitch but the employees here literally don't wear masks lol, so keep that in mind...
Worst vintage store I have ever been to. Extremely expensive, way over charged me
AMAZING thrift store with a nice collection and vibe. Highly recommend.
very organized, easy to shop for the types of clothes you like
Aesthetic and cool apparel, shoes, and objects at a fair price
Awesome concept, great selection. Outside murals are amazing.
got a bunch a good good scarves for not much monies
Rude, disrespectful, not inclusive and judgmental
Lots of selection. Cool decor. Way overpriced.
It was fun and there was a lot of good oufits.
Great selection of clothes and good value!!
Make sure not to park at this place ever.
Totally took me back to the 90's! …
