Plan on spending close to 24 hours dealing with these brain dead morons with attitude problems. The guard at the gate loves to wave a stick at drivers threatening them. The other guards drive around looking for drivers to harass. No signs anywhere indicating where anything should be parked. Stay out of the yard dogs because the minimum speed limit for them is just shy of 40 and they are not stopping. The railroad computer system to keep track of trailers is down most of the time. Just because a trailer appears empty doesn't necessarily mean that it is. I was told there are no empty trailers in the yard, yet I physically counted 16. Only reason this piece of scrap metal of a railroad stays in business is because south of Palatka and Alachua there is no outbound freight for dry vans.
Railyard. Pull up to gate. Guard will inspect trailer and then tell you what rail to drop your load on. He will also give you little slip of paper with that info on it also. Proceed and drop load on correct rail. Go all the way in the back to pick up empty trailer. Must have a pickup # or guard will not let you take empty. Pick up empty and go back up front to gate. Stop and give guard pickup # for empty you are taking out. Open trailer doors so guard can inspect. Get back in truck and leave.
Dispatch has to fill in all the blanks on their device in order for you to drop your load. If not then you'll have to wait till the morning for them to let you in. He said something about it wasn't filled in where the load originated and they wouldn't let me in.
Easy in and out can get busy at times but it keeps moving I pickup here frequently and it's usually always fast in and out with the occasional hiccup they close inbound at night and have one lane in and out on outbound side but at least they are always open
This place can be a bit chaotic, as all rail yards are, but the key to it is simple: have all your information ready. Bills of lading, pickup numbers, etc. You can be in and out in under 30 minutes if you do it right.
Slow the people at the gates are nice and the people leading the cars are busting their butt. As far as being helpful you basically are on your own. And since they're so busy your gonna wait along time
Picking up empty trailer is a real pain, inspected and on hold ones put together with no label, 90% of their trailers are out of use. No signs posted on the yard
Gate operators very polite, keep the lines moving. If you need a location for your equipment... ask them politely they will tell you.
Horrible location. The trucks coming in and out cause traffic problems. FEC on Philips needs to leave and find a new place.
Everybody was helpful, yes some are busy, but they still pointed. I guess some people wish they had private valets.
Slow in and out picking up an empty trailer. Signs for directions around the yard should be posted.
So many trucks and trains a lot of freight move through this hub freight coming and going 24/7
People are nice and helpful here.... Lots of room to park and they got us in and out quick
Not a friendly place. Customer service attitudes from some of the MEN employees worst ever
Very unorganized and at night it seems like no one wants to work or give you help.
It's a Alright Rail Road yard to go to Pickup intermodal Container
Fast check in and check out at the gates for truck drivers.
I only wish they had some posted signs on yard locations..
Employees are slow and rude. No sense of urgency at all.
New owners, doing upgrades to make the place better
They get your trucks in and out in a timely matter
