we have been to this place on multiple occasions spending excess of $100 each time it has been our go to cafe for years until our recent visit which was on Monday the 23rd of October at 10am. one doesn’t like writing a negative reviews but on this occasion we felt it was necessary to share our experience so the owners know what is going on in there business. We waited too be seated by the staff at front counter for about 1 minute, the staff were to busy with there heads down on there mobile phones we approached them and could see they were looking at facebook and they looked up at us and said take a seat where ever you like, we advised them that we are ready to order and they acknowledged us and said they will be right over, they looked asian in appearance, one girl was setting tables while the other one was busy on her mobile phone, then we asked the asian lady setting tables can you please take our order she said, she was new there and she doesn’t know how to take someones order. we waited another 5 minutes and saw the same lady was clearing tables and we got her attention again and reminded her that we would like to order, she responded, by saying someone will be over to take your order, we waited another 5 minutes and we saw a male waiter walk over to our direction and he stopped at the table next to our table to take there order you could clearly see the people had ordered coffees and finished and they both had a meal and wanted some more drinks yet we had been waiting 15 minutes and the staff couldn’t take our order, we made our way to the front counter and the asian lady who we spoke to on the way in was still on her phone we could see she was looking at her facebook account the whole time we were waiting to order, she was busy on her phone seems like they are lacking a senior manager there in the mornings and the staff just do what they want and ignore customers requests when you ask to order. the food and coffee is good its a shame the service is as bad as it is we don’t want to come back again, we walked to another cafe and they took our order straight away and we were drinking our coffee in under two minutes and food arrived promptly after. the owners need to know what there staff are doing to there business reputation.

The coffee here and the decorations are as good as their sister store in Chatswood Westfield (so stars for that) but unfortunately our experience was ruined by bad services (from 1 staff/manager only). Other staff were accommodating and nice. At the front counter the staff was being apologetic and accommodating about my wait time (during lunch rush) where he found the table for us as soon as he could (earlier than the expected 15mins). No problem with that. Ok then here comes the bad parts; we got seated at one end (closed to counter actually) and tried to wave multiple times for attention. No responses available from anyone. It’s ok, they are busy. So we only ordered coffee. Coffee were served they way they were, no problem. During mid way of our coffee session, a young yet authoritative staff (probably the manager or boss of this place) walked to us and bluntly said “I need my chair back” on the chair where we placed our grocery bag on because they were no space to put it. But we’re fine to comply, it’s a business where they need bum on seats after all (wish he requested more politely). The worse part follows, the same manager/boss then literally said “can you guys move your table to let new customers come through?”….… First of all we didn’t move our table at all, the table was set up and positioned this way, plus we are almost done with the coffee. So I replied “ok, let us finish our coffee”…then the manager relied “no need to it move now”…….that really crossed the line of bad service… With no choice nor polite request, we had to end our session with dissatisfaction. Was not happy with the treatment ! I hope they improve or find a new boss.

They only really have a few small things that are not good, so I will start there. The Bad The spaces in and out of your tables are a little too cramped. A walking frame isn't easily used in with their seating arrangements, but it is possible. The menu has a lot of strange food combinations, eg Hazelnut French toast, there was only one thing I could eat. The Good Despite this it was a pleasant experience. The seats were comfortable and the tables didn't rock. You wait a for a bit to get a table and for the wonderful staff to come take your order but it was maybe 5 minutes each time so no big deal. The staff are wonderful and so thoughtful. We had ordered a flavored croissant with jam and cream without knowing that it had a filling. The lovely staff member came back and told us. She asked what we would like to do, instead of just putting the order through. This is the best service I have ever had. What a kind and thoughtful thing to do. All of the staff were kind and polite. My Food I'm a simple Vegetarian so I went with scrambled eggs and Sourdough Toast. Eggs were cooked to perfection. Not over cooked or under. Just at that creamy yet not runny goldilocks zone. The toast was just right. I didn't care for the herb toppings but still a 10 out of 10 for me. At $14 on the all day breakfast menu. Really worth it.

The atmosphere of Flower Child Cafe is clean and beautiful. Each table was decorated with unique hand picked flowers, along with pots of plants hanging from the ceiling. This provided a fresh, breathable atmosphere as the plants were kept in good care. The staff were easy to approach and served each customer with a smile. The food was prepared quickly and tasted spectacular. My mother ordered the Chicken bowel, whilst I ordered the Classic Aussie Burger. We were both astound of both the presentation of our dishes, along with the taste. My mother recommends the Chicken bowel as she really enjoyed the Quinoa Tabbouleh, as she could not get enough of it. The Classic Aussie Burger was provided with chips and sauce with no extra charge. The patty of the burger was juicy and just mouth wateringly delicious. The extra onion ring on top made my day. I will feel adventures next time and try a different meal, as I trust that the chef will make me leave with a happy stomach.

I recently enjoyed a fresh brunch breakfast platter. I opted for the haloumi over the chorizo and was very impressed with the combination. The 2 poached eggs were carved to perfection, and the egg ran straight out when pierced. The goats cheese and avocado go well with the sourdough. Garnished with mushrooms, kale, and cherry tomatoes, with some of the tastiest hash browns I've devoured, I am looking forward to returning soon for another meal. The Grounds coffee in my cappuccino was very smooth and complemented the platter well. Some nice touches with table water and the musical experience make this a prime location for a quick bite. Returned today, and there were queues, a sign of a quality cafe. Will be back again soon.

You can easily go for a vegetarian breakfast platter by swapping chorizo with haloumi. There are plenty of other options on the menu, too.

Love this place, I’m a regular but sometimes they just miss the mark. My eggs on toast with avocado always comes on a tiny plate, it looks great BUT with two pieces of toast on top of each other, then the scrambled egg and the avo next to it, there is no space to cut the toast. I had to ask for a second plate. Why not just serve it in a bigger plate? i also always order tea, but this will be the last time. love that it’s not tea bag brewed but it always comes out like hot water. Similarly to coffee everyone likes their tea differently, so would be great if the staff were more open to instructions, not give me a look of confusion when I ask for it strong. But sadly it still comes out weak anyway. To be honest, maybe just let us do it ourselves. There are teapots that have an inbuilt strainers, would much prefer that so when I do pay $5.50 for a tea I can actually enjoy it justify the cost.

Such a shame the rude register girl this morning made for a disappointing experience. We (3 friends who haven’t caught up for 12 months) were there early and thoroughly enjoyed our meals (suggestion - you ask how much toast the customer wants - no one could eat both the enormous slices given- such a waste). We were sitting chatting after the meal and were asked “Can’t you see the queues outside?” In an aggressive disparaging way and accompanied by a roll of the eyes to other staff. Us stupid old people! We were busy catching up and happy to be moved on in a respectful pleasant way. And no, when you are busy catching up after 12 months you don’t notice queues- it’s not like they were clearly visible, being outside the cafe, and with me, I had my back to them!

Nestled in a charming corner, this café is an absolute delight for the eyes with its adorable decor. The staff here go above and beyond with their politeness and friendliness. As for the food, it's not just delicious; it's a work of art. We savored the delectable smashed avocado paired with rye bread, indulged in the mouthwatering fried chicken Benny, and relished the bacon cheese sandwich. The presentation was as impressive as the taste itself. To quench our thirst, we opted for refreshing fresh juices that provided a burst of flavor. If you're seeking a unique and delightful drink, do yourself a favor and try the lychee mint frappe—it's an absolute must-try.

Seriously best French toast, I've been to one in chatswood and this place has the same great taste and presentation. My friend recommended me to try their blueberry and banana smoothie and my goodness thanking her from the depths of my heart. I would never have tried it cuz I dont like banana too much but now I gotta pass on and recommend this drink to everybody in the world. Soooooooooooooo good like seriously so good I can't believe. It was super smooth, not so much banana taste which was perfect, some honey taste as well. If you don't like honey don't get it haha. French toast well... my no.1 pick. Nowhere does better than here or at least from where I have tried! My husband's salmon dish was also great! Yeah flower child never disappoints NEVER!! Everybody come try their blueberry smoothie!!

Walked into Flower Child Caste Hill for breakfast and had the best breakfasts in a long time, the chef in there really knows his stuff. As soon as I tasted the hollandaise I knew I was in for a treat. I ordered the Breakfast plate. This took me to another place of bliss. I’m not a big fan of kale but this mixed with the mushrooms and pine nuts just magic. Back to the hollandaise if you want fresh made stuff this is the place, for the “Karen’s” that say it tastes funny or not right go back to Gloria Jeans that uses the carton stuff, you don’t deserve to enjoy the meals served here. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more.

I visited Flower Child at Castle Towers with my husband and 2 of my kids for a birthday brunch the other day. Their customer service was simply on point from start to finish; very polite upon arrival and attentive throughout the whole meal. And the food, oh my gosh - delicious! We spoiled ourselves a bit and got a few different meals; Salmon Soba Noodles, Truffle Mushroom Toast & Classic Cheeseburger. The salmon was juicy with cripsy skin, the noodles were flavoursome, the mushroom toast was 'truffle-ly' and the burger was just yum. Each dish had the perfect combination of flavours and left nothing to be desired. With the ample seating, great vibe, friendly staff and amazing food - we will definitely be coming back and would happily recommend Flower Child to everyone.

Today I went to this Cafe for the first time. The cafe was not busy and there were enough waitress we wait about 10 minutes to be seated. Then another 10 minutes to someone get the order from us. During the order my daughter dropped some water and we asked for extra napkins which never came. Then I asked for table water. After 5 minutes myself got the table water from register and bring on my table. One of the orders was afrogato but the Icecream was frozen which indicates that it has been melted once and being frozen again. My little ones order never delivered and she ended up to eat icecream of afrogato which was served in separated cup.

Went to order hot chips and possibly a burger but before I could ask for a burger I was told sorry no takeaway. Disappointed. Considering I have asked in the past and have been told yes we will be doing takeaway multiple times. Could someone please clarify. To the owner Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I'd quite happily wait as long as I was advised of how long the wait maybe before making takeaway purchase. I do understand that it is a struggling time for everyone, no matter what industry. Hopefully can see you on the 15th for a dine in fingers crossed! Looking forward to trying some of your food looks delicious ! Well that was severely disappointing, chips that are as dry as the Sahra dessert, flavourless $7 what a joke

  • Maliha Khan

We had the berry pancakes and a side of hash browns. Let’s start with the good news first. The hash browns were perfect. Crispy and golden. The coffee was excellent (wouldn’t expect anything less from The Grounds). Now for the showstopper. The pancakes. Pretty as a picture. Generously loaded with berries and meringue. The meringue wasn’t sickly sweet and I loved that. But the pancake itself was doughy, dry and crumbly. I’ve had (and cooked) many pancakes and this was by far one of the most disappointing. One of them was even burnt and strategically hidden in the middle. I wouldn’t serve that to a customer tbh. I’m still giving it a 4-star rating because everything else besides the pancakes was excellent (including the service).

  • My Review

I have been here a few times now and i always look forward to it. The scenery of the cafe is rather beautiful and feels very relaxing to sit in. Staff are usually pretty good but sometimes when it is busy food and drinks take longer. One time my drink came last which was a bit odd. The place is usually quite busy so be prepared to wait to sit down. Food always tastes great but the menu is very limited and i wish there was more options.

Fantastic cafe. Don’t even hesitate and walk right in I got introduced to this standout cafe in the Castle Towers. The interior stood out and the food REALLY stood out. Presentation was optimal, and food tasted absolutely delicious. Even the sweet potato chips were better than the average sweet potato chips. The service was also very good. Waitress always smiling and friendly to customers unlike Yum Cha joints in Sydney. They have a wide range of dishes and highly recommend to try sweet potatoes, pancakes and chicken avocado quinoa. Castle hill is lucky to have this cafe. For these reasons I give this place 4 bears

My partner and I were finally able to try this new cafe at Castle Towers. We came for brunch and fortunately had just beaten the rush. We got our names added to the list and received a call shortly after to let us know our table was ready. The food was really nice! We both had ordered the breakfast platter. You definitely can't go wrong with the breakfast platter. I am giving a 4/5 only as I wish the serving size of the bread was a little bit bigger as ended up with plenty leftover with no bread to go with it. It was a much better experience than when I had gotten an acai bowl from Flower Child Cafe at Chatswood which was very underwhelming.

FOOD- The food was pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary! We ordered the tiramisu pancakes and avocado toast. Concerning the pancakes, I could barely taste the tiramisu! However, I liked the concept of this dish. On the other hand, the presentation of the dish was a 10/10. In regard to the avocado toast, it was typical. SERVICE- The service may need some improvement, we had to call the staff multiple times to make an order. The staff were very friendly though. SETTING- We did enjoy the view and fresh flowers on our table. Its the small details✨✨✨ Overall: 6/10

We had lunch today and kinda disappointed with the service - we asked for muffin for the grandkids, was told after 10mins that they have run out, really took 10mins to tell us. The we changed to croissants and asked to be served straight away as the kids are hungry. It took another 15mins to arrive. Then our order for chicken burger was not served and was told it was on their counter a while, we weee not told until after 20mins waiting and have to asked where the burger. So annoying and frustrated with today’s service.

Came and asked for a bacon egg and cheese croissant was advised it would cost 25$ because it’s not on their menu. So they can do it but at a cost most of their options were not pregnancy friendly so I would have to change what I ordered regardless. I was also expected to just squeeze through two tables to get to my seat no care for a pregnant person. I also want to make it clear I will review 1 star because it’s deserved. senallo downstairs can do me bacon egg cheese croissant for 19$. All the best with ur failing business.

Cute cafe with nice decorations. Staff were extremely polite and friendly. Food had nice presentation and was quite tasty. The prosciutto and asparagus soldiers were tasty but a bit on the heavy side. Could use some more vegetables but overall not bad. The pancakes are great for sweet tooth people like me, and was as expected. Not mindblowing but a nice place to go

Food was good, I had the French toast which competed for flavour nothing to cut the sweet on sweet. The big brekky looked good and the lamb was a hit. Sure the ambience isn't great surrounded by retail stores but they have done a good job to try and enclose the space with greenery. If you are shopping within Castle Towers I would definitely recommend this Cafe.

AMAZINGGGGG brunch experience! Almost forgot that I was in a shopping centre! The hanging flowers are really beautiful and the perfectly chosen interiors add such a beautiful touch! The food was absolutely breathtaking! Couldn’t fault the service and they were really busy too which says a lot! So much attention to detail. Huge fan of The Grounds coffee too, so they ticked all the boxes for me! Must try them out - can’t wait to visit the other two stores they also have Highly recommend!

It’s hard to find good food with good costumer service in Sydney. But this cafe got them all , the line was long but the serving was fast we waited 5 min and we got our table which is amazing for a very busy cafe in the weekend . Amazing pip hosted us and she is very thoughtful and experienced and she did a very good costumer service . We bought the food she recommended and she gave us a comfy chairs because we had a situation and she was aware with the food because we can’t eat raw food .

Delicious food and friendly service. The plants hanging feels very fresh and gives the illusion you are eating outside. Coffee was well made as well. Ordered brunch, 3 adults one kid. 11.30am Saturday morning. Understandable, they were busy, but my meal was last to arrive, Breakfast Burger. Bun was not toasted enough, could tell it was not fresh and bacon was very undercooked. Basically couldn’t eat second half of the roll. Very disappointing, nowhere near the standards set by Chatswood store. The Grounds coffee was great though.

One of those rare cafes where you can order literally anything and won’t be disappointed. These guys know there stuff and are passionate about what they do, and it shows in their work. You’ll never get a bad coffee here. Staff are always enthusiastic and deliver exceptional customer service. The food here is the absolute best you’ll get from a cafe. Top notch establishment, a must go for Hills. Totally recommend to anyone looking for a great breakfast/brunch.

This Café despite being with a shopping centre has a great atmosphere and decor. It makes you feel like you've escaped the crazy shoppers busily rushing around doing their shopping. Great little spot to have coffee and eat breakfast at this Cafe. We had to wait around 20-30 minutes for a table only because we needed a table with 2 x high chairs and 3 chairs. Perfect breakfast platter. Every single item was wonderfully tasty and flavourful even the kale with mushrooms, which are hard to get right. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff. Lost one point coz the waitress saw us and repeatedly walked past and told us to wait. When ordering extra bacon she told me there was already chorizo in my breakfast platter. Duh! They are two different things. Did I look stupid or that I’ve never gone out in my life?

Great food, great service. Will absolutely eat here again when I want to take the time to taste the food rather then just refuel. I had the 12 hour lamb bowl with halloumi and a glass of fresh lemonade. The lemonade was everything I had hoped for and the lamb bow had a good balance of flavours and textures with the halloumi well worth the extra cost.

The food was good and all, but my son asked for a cheeseburger and got the big brekkie burger. The waitress then said they are the different items with the same name. How is a cheeseburger and a Big Brekkie Burger under the same name? Then I ordered ‘Eggs on Toast’ and just gave me the toast. Eggs On Toast without the eggs? More

Personally think it’s better than the Chatswood one which is always way too busy so you barely get any service. Castle Tower one has much more table space as well. Food and coffee are as good as you would expect. But be prepared to wait anytime between 15-35 mins on weekends.

Tried this cafe first time , really like their set up with green plants gives you feeling that you are sitting under a shed . Food was great. They took longer time to serve our meal though. I believe they were very busy even on a week day. Great vibe though.

Incredible food and coffee. Top cafe quality, all the food looks amazingly creative. It does get very busy though on the weekends! So you might have to line up for 5 minutes. Definitely worth it though!

Really appreciate how the staffs do the services, the waiting time is not too long. The dishes fit my appetite actually. Also, I'm interested in how they make the medium-boiled egg, so tasting.

Flower Child cafe in Castle Towers was beautiful. We ordered a few dishes to taste and we'd have to say the french toast was a stand out !! Everything was presenting so nice and the staff was super friendly. We'll be coming back again soon x

Everything was excellent except one thing. Right in front of the queue waiting for a table was a young kitchen hand with no gloves. Every other staff member in the kitchen had gloves. This guy was touching the food on the plates about to go

I just had an amazing brunch with my wife and, despite being public holiday and sooooo busy, the staff managed to take orders and deliver foof in a snap! Excellent! Beautiful food prepared by the chef Nathan, who I watched him to be neat,

Have eaten here a few times. Food is a little pricier than your usual cafe but tastes great :-) Favourite thing I’ve eaten here so far is the mushroom burger!

Abit haphazard with the service and food coming out. But I guess they’re new. But biggest gripe is it’s quite expensive. Salmon slices on small slice of toast was $27. Presentation was pretty but my coffee came after I finished my meal…

We went there 4 adults and a baby, he initially gave us a table with 3 adults seats and a high chair, which cannot fit. Then he said he can give us a small table which can barely fit 4 plates and put the high chair in the corner, said

Flower Child at Castle Hill Shopping Centre is more than just a cafe; it's a culinary and visual delight. The food isn't just delicious – it's presented with flair, making each dish a feast for both the taste buds and the eyes. The

Good food, french toast was just a little bit sweet. Drinks were average. Brioche used for their benny and french toast were very light and so the meal wasn’t that filling.

Beautiful decor, however food was pretty standard, we ordered additional hashbrowns and were given some weird potato slab which definitely did not taste like hashbrowns. Yes we dined in on 29/10/22.

Ordered a babychino for my 2 year old. It was so hot took 15 minutes to cool down. Had to endure a massive tantrum whilst we waited for it to cool down. Why make it so hot for kids?

Food and coffee are always great. Great service. There can be long waits on weekends. Longer for large groups as larger groups take longer to eat and limited big tables.

Very good food presentation, generous portion size and most of all the taste (was 10/10). Great attentive wait staff too. Fast service as well. Will definitely be back.

Instagram cafe. Good for the photos. It was very busy, no doubt however as great as the plates look, they lacked a little in flavour. More
