As a newcomer to Stittsville, I would have given this store a 5 stars before the self serve cashes. However, because I’m a large order customer, self serve doesn’t work well for me. The screen keeps telling me I’m timed out while the attendent is busy with others. Customers are impatient with me for taking so long, and therés not enough counter space all of my items. Very stressful. Unfortunately, I have to shop elsewhere now. One open regular cash is not enough..

Fruits and vegetables are always fresh. The employees are great. One day, my wife asked for an item which the employee couldnt locate at first, and then when my wife was at checkout,the employee ran to her with the item and said he was looking fkr her the whole time after he found it. This level of dedication from employees is great to see, and enhances the overall customer convenience. Thank you for that! I wish I knew your name to thank you personally.

Purchased a rotisserie chicken from here on Friday. I was sick on Saturday, I assumed it was a flu bug. My husband ate the chicken Saturday and was sick all Sunday. Again, I assumed he had the “24hour flu bug I had”. Sunday afternoon (I felt OK on Sunday) I had some left over chicken and was sick all night. Clearly it was from the chicken and not the flu. Will not be returning to this store, or purchase rotisserie chicken for a while.

This used to be a 5 star store and my favourite supermarket... but they put in self checkouts and staff too few cashiers. This makes for a very frustrating experience because the self-checkout technology is inferior, cramped and screws up regularly.The take home message I get is that they really don't care for their customers. P.S. Food basics on Katimavik still has humans to help you!

My first experience wasn't that great: produce that were not fresh and a rather abrupt staff at the self-checkout. However, I encountered nice staff on my second visit and the produce was better. Will see which is the real 'normal' over time and rate accordingly. It's a good thing there are so many other grocery options in the area in the meantime. Parking lot is a pain to get out of.

Produce and meat sections are lacking. Good for prepackaged. Also watch out for item placement there has been a few times they advertise an item on sale and put a very similar item that isn't on sale beside it. If you're not paying attention you can easily grab the non sale one. Also there seems to be no consideration given for those on a bike.

Employees need to have "respect in the workplace" training. Staff that have pride in a job well done are easily identified. I.e. cleanliness of the store . Coughing (without covering their mouth) is rude. Well done to the employees who grin and bear it. We have been shopping here for a number of years and are reluctant to return.

Super clean location with loads of products to offer to the consumers. Located in the plaza on Huntmar and Hazeldean location it offers easy access to people in the neighborhood to come and grab their weekly grocery products. They also have great discounts on Thursday. Do check it out if you recently moved in the neighborhood

Don't buy meat here! This is the third time this has happened to meat purchased at this food basics. This time they refused to refund because the label is missing on the chicken. I had the reciept and the chicken but not the packaging as I noticed the disgusting thing inside after removing it all.

Everyone has been friendly and helpful in our new location. I have dealt with the Manager as well. He is quite nice. Store is Organized and Clean always. The greeter at the front door is very pleasant and has all the carts cleaned and lined up ready to go. What more can you ask for.

Do not buy meat from this store. I have bought ribs and roast in kast month and both bad when I opened. I was once shopping at this store saw a palette of children sitting out of cooler, told. Staff member she walked over and then walked away and left it out. Beware

I love this place, there I met with very nice staffs and kind people taking care of the business. You'll find great deals and promotions in that place and I strongly recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in the neighborhood or nearby.

Not a place for quality fruit and veggies. I've lost count how many times I've found moldy or rotting fruit on their shelves. One time I observed a staff replenishing strawberries on a shelf and the strawberries were already bruised and

The location is always in need of cleaning. Many of the staff seem to have better things to do than to help customers but you get the odd one that is amazing and makes up for it. Groceries are ok value just look closely at the produce.

I find this grocery store to be great for some awesome sales. The produce is satisfactory but not as good as say Farm Boy. Nevertheless, it has all you need with good prices. Bring your own bags and be prepared to pack them yourself.

The best place for buying groceroes in parallel with Costco. They are amongst the first stores used digital tags instead of paper for their shelves. Prices are good. Unfortunately, there is no Iranian section like other foodbasics.

The other day I forgot some of my groceries at the store as well as the receipt, they were kind enough to trust me and let me get the groceries that I knew I had forgotten (I could have filled my cart!)Very nice manager …

Food Basics has become my main grocery store. They always offer great deals and cheaper prices compared to other grocery stores in my area. The store is always clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I shop here very often. Good deals especially in the past month or so. Sometimes fruits aren't very fresh and items in the freezer are not arranged properly. Would be nice to see some deals in the bakery section.

It's a no frills place. Awesome prices and they always have the good stuff others don't Carry! Anytime I've looked everywhere for something food basics usually does! Nice to have one close to home!

As expected, good place for food staples. A place for getting fruits, veggies, bread, and a selection of rices and pasta. Cheese was a decent price. Don't expect much else.
