Wearing jewellery not only makes me feel great but more importantly it often helps connect me with my memories and loved ones. Trusting someone to repair an irreplaceable piece of jewellery is a big deal. I recently inherited a beautiful ring from my Mum. It was a special gift to her from my darling dad who passed away only several years after he gave it to her and my Mum had continued to wear it every day for the last 20 odd years of her life. My family and I have shopped at For the love of gold for many years and have always recieved excellent service and advice which keeps us coming back. From having jewellery cleaned and restored to purchasing beautiful pieces, including a custom made rose gold and diamond ring, nothing is a problem for Tony and his team. On a most recent visit by my husband he purchased a gorgeous opal ring as a gift for me. When i received it i noticed there was a crack in the back of the opal. I took it back to Tony to see if there was anything he could do to repair it, however i was told that the opal would have to be replaced. Tony advised because it was like this when i recieved it ( neither my husband or Tony had noticed this when it was purchased) he was more than happy to replace the opal at no cost to myself. My ring was replaced with a beautiful opal, possibly even more so than the previous one! Thank you Tony for going above and beyond!

Finally baught the exact piece I wanted. Truly an amazing customer service. I have been there many times just to have more knowledge and to discuss the details about the exact chain and pendent I wanted because I had some specific requirements with the one I was looking for. Everytime I have been there I had so many questions and Mr. Tony has always answered each one of them with so much humbleness and happiness, such a gentleman he is. I am extremely happy with their service. They really did a fabulous job and the final look of the pendent and chain was beyond satisfaction. I really appreciate their true efforts and I must say that they are working " for the love of gold" indeed. Tonnes of thanks to Mr. Tony and lovely lady jennet. Tony and his team are a welcome resource for 'serious jewellery' shoppers who require meticulous attention to detail to valuable and sentimental pieces. I have purchased predominantly estate items directly, as well as taking all my jewellery requiring service, resizing or repair to Tony for several years since moving from Melbourne. Specialty dress jewellery items outside of 'standard' stock lines have been happily sourced on my behalf. On occasion I've had to wait a little while for work to be completed (typically peak times of year) but the fact that there are so many customers entrusting their items to the team is in itself a testament to the quality of their work. Always a great experience!

We have been lucky enough to have experienced brilliant service from Tony and his staff on a number of occassions, the most recent being the other day when the pearl on my 30th Anniversary present ring had fallen out and unfortunately lost. It was an unusual shape and therefore left an odd shape to be filled. Tony found a pearl to fit in perfectly, and in fact, the ring looks even better than it did originally! We have purchased jewellery from Tony before, and have had several pieces altered with him, always very pleased with the results. Would avoid. Poor customer service, owner said he was too busy! Provided him with a black opal and a gold sovereign to make a ring. Ring was made without much style, did not have an assay mark or valuation. I was advised that half the sovereign weight was lost in the process. Took the ring to a metallurgist and was advised that it was NOT made with 22carat gold, just 18 carat! I am left wondering why, as a sovereign is 22 carat gold. Paid $2000 for this ‘service’ where something is obviously not right. Plenty of other professional, honest jewellers to choose from in Hobart, use the alternatives and steer clear of this place.

After sharing my own sketches of what I would like my engagement ring to look like, it was hand crafted to perfection. The only tweaks to the design were made for structural reasons and did not detract from my design at all as the change was so minimal! They worked with me every step of the way and let me check in to see the progress which was fantastic! I have continued to shop here since and have always received the same high standard of service. I would highly recommend them!

I absolutely LOVE this place, I have had many pieces of jewellery repaired over the years and the quality of the repairs have been outstanding! I got my wedding band made to match in with my engagement ring and it is just perfect! It was obvious that so much care went into making it for me and I cant wait to get my eternity ring (one day) made from here too. The staff are always so friendly and lovely and happy to assist always with a smile on their faces!

I took a fine gold necklace here for a repair and repair was done to a very poor standard. The necklace now has a lump where it was repaired and the clasp was also bent in the process and I could not put the pendant back on. I had to return to the shop and ask they bend the clasp back into shape. I have had it repaired elsewhere twice and their repairs are not at all visible, in fact they couldn’t believe the poor job that was done at For the Love of Gold.

I recently took my engagement ring in to be resized and to have more gold added to the band. I also took it again for a valuation following the work that was done. The service could not have been more prompt, friendly, or fairly priced. Tony is an outstanding example of great customer service. He endeavours to look after his customers with integrity and their best interests in mind. I will be conducting all future business with For the Love of Gold.

I had a ring resized which belonged to my mother. It has great sentimental value, and I was thrilled with the result when it was finished. I took along an old silver teapot trophy won by my grandfather, to find out about restoration and cleaning as a surprise gift for my now elderly father. The staff member was very friendly, and took the time to suggest a place nearby that specialises in silverware and wrote down instructions on how to find the place. Happily the referral was perfect and my father was very greatful to see his dads old trophy sparking once more.

I broke my wife’s wedding ring and it looked like it was beyond repair. I took it to For The Love Of Gold. Not only did they repair it for a decent price but it looks better than before. Very happy with the work they do there and would highly recommend it.
