This park is fantastic! There's a close-up and lovely view of the George Washington Bridge. If you live in New York, I suppose you go to the nearest park that has what you're looking for. Looking at NJ from NY isn't as pleasant as looking at NY from NJ, but it's still enjoyable. There is a lighthouse and some historical buildings if you are interested in history. You can get on a walking and biking trail here and follow it all the way down the coast.
My favorite to go place which has lots of amazing views. It lies below the Washington bridge and on the side of beautiful Hudson river. There is lots of open space , playground, swings and other material for playing. This place is always crowded since most of the people go their for evening walk. Also this place is best for running and doing exercise. There is spot for family picnic as well. Absolutely a hidden gem on the bank of Hudson river.
Thunderstorm was approaching as I took my walk. Then this creepy guy in a black and yellow umbrella came and sat two feet from me. I had to move. So much space and he had to set up his chair right next to me. Lord have mercy! Seems like he was waiting for the rain so he can bath in it. Omg watch out for this guy if you ever walking and a storm is coming. NYC life is real! Watch out be safe. Blessings to all always!
This is a great place to stop while bike riding. The view can be lovely specially if it is not humid. You can easily sit by the water appreciate the bridge to one side and the city to the other. The only reason why i give a 4 is noise. The traffic from the bridge and the current construction happening makes a lot ñf sound pollution but other than this it is a great place to walk and speand time with someone.
Excellent views and trails for runners, walkers and bikers alike. There are few places to enter and exit where I was staying up near Columbia hospital, so access was a bit difficult. Bikes also go excessively fast and can surprise you, but river views are second to none. Runners are hard pressed to find longer stretches of flat-ish paths without cars.
What can I not say. The parks of all parks. Great views and playgrounds for children and adults. Basketball courts, baseball field, tennis, cookout space with grills. Get there early in the summer months for best space to have Children can have fun with family and friends cookout. A place for all visitors and new Yorkers.
I enjoy commuting in the green way. There are areas of the park that need to be repaved and does create a hazard for cyclist. This is a great place to take a stroll and relax. Lots of wild life and bustling waterway traffic. Awesome views of the George Washington Bridge and the light house as well.
It has a long and narrow waterfront park that starts at Dyckman Street and abruptly ends near the Henry Hudson Bridge, without any way to exit other than to go back to Dyckman Street. The waterfront is beautiful in its own rustic way and the walk path is even and paved nicely.
Biking or walking around this park is great . Stopping from time to time to enjoy the views of the Hudson and New Jersey and downtown manhattan is a must . Great locations for pictures . Much more busy on the weekends when people come to have family time and picnic.
This park is difficult to reach and sometimes means crossing busy highways. But the serenity of the green park space beyond the highway by the river makes it well worth it. Definitely recommend just make sure you know what route to take in getting there!
This is one of the best park to relax. Fresh air, great views, peace and quiet. And they have 8 tennis courts and they have a tennis lesson at court 1. This coach is great!! He is very energetic and care for each student's level. He is very popular!!!
Great place to cook out and the kids to play, but if if you're grilling get here early people start claiming spots as early as 5am. There are port a John's but there a little walk from the grilling area and bring a roll of toilet paper just in case.
Is so nice and relaxing walking through this beautiful park.. or simply seating on one of the benches you got around it.. is clean and quiet.. give it a shot and enjoy it.. there’s not only the Central Park (that I love by the way) in New York..
Walked through this park for the first time since I moved uptown. It really is a gem. Walking paths, bike paths, plenary of space to lay out and have a picnic. There are also excellent, picturesque view of the Jersey skyline and on a a good
It's just a little playground and some grass, which we're grateful for, for the kids, but it's not got much to offer adults, unless you're homeless and need a public space to pitch your tent. It would be great to get a BBQ spot, or a field
I'm confused Google. Am I supposed to rate a park differently than another park? Is there something in the grass I don't know that you think I should talk about? Are the trees more mighty? Perhaps the benches are less full of splinters?
Went on a Sunday morning walk with friends and the first thing you notice is how quiet and remote this park is. Plenty of space to relax, jog or ride bikes or play tennis. Gorgeous views of the George Washington bridge, the Little Red
There is an insanely creepy tunnel that goes underneath the Hudson River Parkway is not lit up and is scary. ‼️‼️‼️ LET'S NOT LEAVE OUT THE SPRAY PAINTED WARNING THAT SAYS "TWO UNSOLVED MURDERS HERE: WATCH YOUR BACK" ‼️‼️‼️
Its a great place to go for a walk, a jog, bike ride, plan a picnic, hangout with friends or to take your kids to play. The park connects to other parks such as Riverside park. It has a nice view of NJ and the GW bridge.
This beautiful park by the mighty Hudson is a perfect get away, particularly at off times when it’s less crowded. Stay alert and look behind you before crossing the paved path, which is shared with fast-moving bikers.
Think twice before visiting this park unless you need grills for bbq too crowded parking isnt free play ground area needs some serious work once really beautiful park now it looks like no one is taking care of it.
What an incredible experience walking with my friend. It was refreshing and delightful to be in an area that didn't have that city vibe or curated landscaping. It was relaxing and exquisite.
I went to see the Little Red Lighthouse this morning. It was a nice day. The park is nice and it was nice and peaceful today. The walk to the Lighthouse was not bad and it was easy to find.
I love this park. The cloisters are beautiful as well as the open lawn. The garden to the south and all the trees and walk ways. Gorgeous to look across the Hudson River from the overlook.
Awsome views of the G.W. Bridge and surroundings. Extensive trail system with intricate stone walls, stairs and parapets with great views of the Hudson. Very hilly and a good workout.
Park is nice but they need more lights on the path. It's too dark after the sun goes down. Can't see your hand before your face. Also they need porta potties. Bathroom is way too far
I've been coming here since childhood to relax and let go. This place indeed has changed over the years. The best time to come is during weekdays and preferably in the mornings.
Passed through this park on the Hudson River Greenway bike path. It has tennis courts, a public bathroom & plenty of benches to sit on & look at the bridge, Hudson River & NJ.
Great to visit the only lighthouse left in Manhattan. We subsequently bought the book which is based on this lighthouse. Great views over to New Jersey and of the bridge.
Great little gems tend to crop up along the shore here from mysterious stone formations to remnant lighthouses..dont forget to walk up north and find inspiration point!
Great park for a stroll, bike ride, tennis match, baseball game, anything you could hope for in a park. The little red lighthouse is also a great destination to visit.
July 5, 2021 So beautiful and I enjoyed the lighthouse. I wish I could have gotten a better picture but you know there’s always people around in New York lol.
The sunset view is awesome. many people were enjoying their time .Nice place for outdoor activities like parbeque and enjoying time with friends and families.
Also known as the Cloisters. There is a beautifull red light house located underneath The George Washington Bridge, lots of paths Excellent for bird watching.
I love this place. Great view of Jersey, downtown, the bridge, and the water. Cool sights to pass by including the little red lighthouse which I love.
The hilly path is definitely worth the hike to reach a beautiful coastline with an amazing skyline. Alot of things to do and space to do it
Best of all: NY, NJ, River, GWB, BBQs, Bike Lanes, Art, bathtooms, Playgrounds, Tennis Court, Basketball Court, #PinicEverywhere !!
Fun little gem with great views of the Hudson and George Washington Bridge...
Restrooms
Part of the restaurant bar area.
Love this area. I use it to train for my marathons. It's very convenient and you can go very far south along the Hudson River.
It's a nice park to walk but not accessible to handicapped steep hills dead ends OK but to see the GWB is a breathtaking view
Another lovely area along the Hudson River. Go see the Little Red Lighthouse, relax in the sun, play basketball, have a BBQ.
I enjoyed the scene, however, we had to hike back up hill for a while. It was very exhausting after a long day of grilling.
This is a very nice place. It's very suitable to go alone, with the family, a bunch of friends or with a significant other.
Beautiful place to relax and take sun bath u can ride bike all the way from downtown battery park to this location ...
Beautiful park next to the George Washington Bridge. Perfect place to take in the sunset with gorgeous of the skyline
A beautiful park with scenic views of the New Jersey side of the Hudson River and a beautiful Little Red Lighthouse.
I wanted to find the little red lighthouse and I did. The trail has beautiful views of the river and the bridge.
Beautiful views from here. My quiet place...depending on the time and day of course. Very lively in the summer.
Beautiful location, great sports facilities, immaculate bathrooms! Paths and wooden bridge need maintenance.
Serious trails and photo ops! Shade, grill and chill my type of spot. Ample parking certain times.
Great spot to walk along the Hudson River. Well paved, not too many people, bike or walk or run.
Wonderful brunch at the Hudson. Great views of the city and water. Paddle boarders and kayakers.
Great site to bike for a picnic. Scenic views of the Palisades, the Hudson River, and Manhattan.
No clean source of water but a nice enclosure! My go to park is 142 st dog run and st. Nicholas
Beautiful spot and relaxing atmosphere. I really enjoyed the view. Will walk here again soon.
Nice place to enjoy the view and have a barbecue but there are a lot of small flys and bugs
Beautiful park with scenic views right by the water. Great place for cycling or jogging.
Its a beautiful park. I love walking there in any season. But the spring is my favorite!
It's so beautiful that you should never visit! (I'm selfishly keeping it to myself!)
This a a great park, beautiful landscape, and not overflowing with people!
Wonderful park to take my son.
