Kids enjoy playing in the Fountain of Rings in Centennial Park. But, I think that's true of other fountains as well. As an adult, I didn't see much difference between it and other fountains I've seen elsewhere when I visited on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. The Olympic rings are a nice touch. But I didn't recognize the Olympic rings until I looked at the base of the fountain instead of the streams of water. A more observant person might appreciate its unique beauty and symbolism more. I do think it is worthwhile for persons visiting downtown Atlanta to take at least a few minutes to walk through Centennial Olympic Park and to view the fountain as part of that walk. But kids will likely enjoy the fountain more than adults, even if they don't appreciate its link to the Olympics. And they might give it five stars.
Located at the south end of Centennial Olympic Park in downtown, the Fountain of Rings is a fountain, as you might expect, in the shape of the Olympic rings. It's basically a flat concrete plaza and during the warm months, jets of water shoot out of the ground in various patterns and kids (and more adults than you might think) play in it. They also do a couple of choreographed water and song shows, the ones at night also incorporating lights. If you're visiting the city with family you're probably going to be right by it anyway since it's located in the middle of CNN, the College Football Hall of Fame, the Georgia Aquarium, and World of Coke so adding this to your list is no trouble.
1. Great Park with a awesome water feature 2. In the center of Atlanta 3. Great food in the park This park is amazing. This would be a great place for anything from a family outing, work out session, meditation to a romantic date. This place is ideal for cooling off during the summer because unlike other fountains you are encouraged to get in and get wet! Be sure to have a towel on standby and if you don't no worries you can walk through the park and air dry. ☑️Five Stars
It's seems like they are always working on the fountain but never fix it. Half the jets don't work and the water show is gone. I haven't seen the concessions open in years and the restroom is never open. That said, my kids still have a blast (but they do miss how much fun it used to be). I'm giving my stats based on Jake it's restored to it's former glory
Restrooms
They exist but everything I've been in the last few years they are closed.
I haven't been in a couple of years. But, when I did go. I really enjoyed it with friends and my play nieces. Now that I have two grandkids of my own. I feel better about taking them there. The pools aren't as clean as they use to be. They get to eat, play, laugh, and see a part of history. The park is also surrounded by so many other landmarks and places for them to enjoy. I highly recommend the experience. Have a safe and blessed Summer
Beautiful park. Located near the ferris wheel and the Aquarium. Lots of benches under trees to sit abd relax. Very clean splash pad for kids of all ages. Great place to spend a day. We were there on a Monday morning so it was not crowded at all. At noon there was an amazing show where the fountains performed to music. We enjoyed watching it while eating our picnic.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon after a visit to the aquarium and decided to sit on one of the benches under the trees and just people watch. Such a peaceful place with the sounds of children playing in the fountains and so many folks from all walks of life milling around. Felt totally safe and was a great place to just sit and chill and enjoy life.
The park is always a really nice place to go hang out with family and friends on a pretty day. There’s plenty of history to see in the park. The water features are nice to look at but are currently closed to the public. The fountains are going but the kids can’t get in and play on the splash pad Fountain of Rings.
I watched this being built in 1995,when living a bicycle ride away..by 1996 it was alive with culture and beauty like Atlanta hadn't seen before. A GREAT place to take the kids- summer for a cool off spot& winter for the lovely holiday lights...all year round many activities! Best part is : It's Free!
We love to hang out at Centennial Park. The water is always a free treat for the kids, even adults. My hubby and I will sometes join in the fun with the grandkid. Subway is within walking distance. Grab a sandwich and sit for some fun in the sun
Get a little wet and enjoy the excellent, soothing music, then walk around and take in terrific city views and easy access to many activities. This spot is one of the best gifts that Atlanta gave to itself after the 1996 Olympics.
Good place to visit when it's not over crowded, but those times are few and far between. Is fun to walk through the fountain on a hot day. It's also a cool place to hangout and talk around. Just hope for a slow day
Lovely park with cool historic markers from the 1996 Olympics. Our kids love the fountains, walking trails and wide open green spaces. Across the way is also the Atlanta Aquarium (a must do!) and Coca-Cola museum.
This is a beautiful fountain that is definitely the go-to spot when nearby and also a meeting spot for locals and tourists. It's beautiful when the sun is setting as the skyscrapers start to glow around you.
Its kinda fun to watch at this. People tries to go in inside it without getting your cloths wet from the water appearing. Watch several minutes and you will see at least one person take a bath at here
Great place for everyone As it is in the middle of park and many other attractions But the fountain part is for kids i would say under 12 age and make sure to bring spare clothes as kids gate so wet.
OMG! So much fun!! My kids had a blast!! It looked so fun I REALLY wanted to go in but I was a tad older than all the kids running around. Maybe next time I’ll join in! Highly recommended!
Lovely water fun in swim suits and swim trunks. Unfortunately the fountain is currently closed due to covid. We had some other entertainment for a little while. Had to. Parking was $20
Big interactive fountains that would surely enjoy by kids and kids at heart. Just bring a lot of sunscreen during spring and summer, if you wish to play here with your kids.
This part of center of all the attention mostly in this park because it's the Olympics. It's awesome to get wet in it and you will find a lot of people here. It's very cool.
So much fun on a much needed sunny day after a droopy kind of weather week. The best part is it cost me no money making the overall experience priceless for the family
Fountain of Rings is an attraction that on lookers view how the beautiful waters spring up from the ground and form an amazing circle. What a sight to look there upon.
Hi umm yes does anyone know if they have the Christmas lights and Christmas tree this year at Cenntinel park ? Please if you know Anything let me know thank yoy
I love how they let kids play freely here. On hot summer days we've taken a detour off the interstate to let our son play and get some energy out of his system.
I would love to give this a five star rating, but the homeless people begging for money are thick here. It really makes it hard to enjoy your time in the park.
Beautiful place, was able to catch part of a light show here with my spouse and it was lovely! Highly recommend this place for a great date night outing
Worth stopping by especially if it's a warm day and you have kids that enjoy running through sprinklers. Also is a "water fountain show" all for free.
It was good until 15;00. Then never felt safe after that! Lots of weird people… homelessness and drunks are a problem. But before that… great park.
Can someone tell me if the fountain show is open yet? Can we get in the water yet? I been dying to go but every time I’ve gone it’s been closed :(
In all honesty it’s not that great a show, probably the best thing is the kids can play in it. Think of it as a very low rent Bellagio fountain.
This was a great place to take the kids to cool off, on a hot Atlanta day. Lots of shade. Benches. Kids loved the splash pad and getting wet.
Very pretty fountain! This seems to be a very popular attraction as it is always busy and filled with children. It is kept super clean!
Nice place to sit and relax when it's hot. The chlorine smell is something that needs getting used to for non-US visitors though...
My daughters had the time of their life in this park... very entertained with lots of other kids to run through the water with...
Some reviews don't need alot of words.... Laughter transcends all color barriers all ethnicities it is the human blood of life.
A light and water show set to a variety of songs from many generations. It is free. If you get there early there is seating.
The kids are big now so we don't go as much. But it is nice tho'. Also enjoyed the fountain show to different music. …
Nice, peaceful. The water show at night is cool. They play lots of songs that go to the music. Good place to just chill.
Not only beautiful to watch the fountains dance, bring a towel and dance inside the spouts! Feel like a kid and be free!
Beautiful place in the middle of Atlanta. Just to chill, watch people preform or to play with the kids in the water.
1996 Olympic site. Nice place to visit. Water shots up from the Olympic rings. Water is not sync well with music.
4 light, music, and fountain shows everyday. They last 15 minutes and use songs you hear during the Olympics.
The entire park was closed and the fountains were not operating. So disappointing! Visited in March 2021
Didn't get to see it at night but it's a wonderful view and the water is constantly splashing you haha!
Just beautiful I enjoy that vacation there didn't get to see everything I wanted to but I was pleased
I'm a Day School Teacher and we have been having our end of the school year party.PARENTS LOVE IT!
Neat fountains. Kids love romping in the fountains, and they look cool at night with the lights.
Great place for kids .. Musical foutain show every day @ 12.30, 3.30 , 6.30pm and 9 pm. Awesome.
I had such a wonderful time here. It was my first time in the city and I can't wait to go back!
Relaxing place. Fun to sit here with coke on a sunny day. But the smell of chlorine is intense
It is great place to go for everyone kids and adults you will really enjoy your self
They had periodic fountain shows, but also specific ones with music. It was lovely.
Great place to hang out and enjoy, parking sucks and where available is expensive..
Nice place to visit. Lots of kids playing in the water and families walking around
Have always love going to pay in the fountains here. I've been going for 22 years.
Great way to end the day after taking kids to children museum. Walkable distance.
This is an awesome place for kids only thing is that there is no public restroom
Love the water show at night and great place to bring the kids during the summer
Have fun with the timed water shows. Great for a short piece of entertainment.
Pleasant place, in the middle of the city. Nice and well maintained fountains.
Aside from a homeless man taking a shower in the fountain my kids had a blast
Great place to take the whole family. The kids loved playing in the water
Very Nice just couldn't see all the attractions due to prep for an event
Very good looking place! Fountain is nice, and the park is super cool.
My kids love the water show and being able to play in the fountains.
It's a musical fountain which you can enjoy every day free of cost !
Amazing place to spend the day. Great view of downtown Atlanta
It's a nice place to sit and people watch. The kids love it.
Nice place and you get full view of the city's skyscrapers.
Fun place however you may find some shady ppl.
We loved the music and show. beautiful park
Amazing place for kids, we had a blast!!
Sooo lovely
