Liquor store
"No price tags on items, he charges customers according to whether they’re tourists or locals"
"Total rip-off"
"Do not shop from this store"
"Outrageously overpriced, with prices not marked on items and you have to ask/find out when you get to the counter"
"Stayed at King George Hotel which is basically right next door"
No price tags on items, he charges customers according to whether they’re tourists or locals. Everything is expensive. He is not scanning items but rather manually putting the prices on the cash register so he can manipulate the prices. I don’t recommend this liquor shop, save your hard earned dollars and please go somewhere else.
Total rip-off. Prices tags are not on every item, and the cashier inputs the prices manually when you get to the counter. $30 for a 375ml of Hornitos, $6 for a 1L Essentia, $2.50 for a $1 bag of Doritos, $6 for a Tallboy Corona, $4.50 for a L of Club Soda. Stay far, far away.
Do not shop from this store. They will rip you off. They charged me $19 for 12 pack Miller lite, where Walgreen two blocks away charges $10.49. Every item doesn’t have price marked on and they will charge you whatever they want if they think you are a traveler.
Outrageously overpriced, with prices not marked on items and you have to ask/find out when you get to the counter. They tried to charge me $20 for a 4 pack of ciders, and on top of that most of the drinks in the fridge were missing a bottle
Stayed at King George Hotel which is basically right next door. This place is conveniently located, BUT everything was overpriced and some snacks were expired. Bottle of water is way expensive, a regular sized bag of chips was $5 dollars,
If you feel like getting taken advantage off go here. The worker was rude and unhelpful. We got 2 packs of cookies and a little bag of skittles and paid $31. Nothing was priced, if we would’ve known, we would have gone a block further.
If you're a visitor to this city, please read these reviews. Do not go here, you will get ripped off (but only if you pay). Go one block over to Walgreens where the prices are fair. If you're local and you shop here, shame on you for
Way overpriced...poor selection. Most items do not have a price. Those that are priced are price gouged. Case of water $20.00. All 6 pack of beers are $13.99. Wines that are usually 12-15 dollars are over $30..restaurant pricing.
The store has a large selections of liquor and a fair amount of snacks and food items, but everything is the store is twice as expensive as it should be. I understand there is a "city premium" but this is just price gouging.
I get that liquor stores are expensive at times but this place is really high. Do yourself a favor and go to Walgreens where they won't price gouge for alcohol (can't even imagine the cost of food here)
Beers were totally overpriced. No price labels on any of the selection. A 6-pack of Modelo was $15 and a 12-pack was $27 before tax. Ended up opting for a 12-pack of Budweiser for $19 tax in..
Do yourself a favor and walk one block down to the liquor mini mart on Ellis between mason and Taylor. Literally a block away with a much better selection for way way better prices.
I'm with Saman - I dropped in to get some snacks for my hotel room - total ripoff. But it's sort of like airline food. Where else can you go to get something to eat at 35,000 feet?
We were bummed at the checkout on the final price of the goods. Most are not labeled and are later very pricey in fact. It seems they try to rip off the tourists here.
Way over priced! The clerk will distract you with conversation and "compliments" but like everyone says, they are WAY overpriced and make prices on the spot. Terrible
Cool little liquor store, 2 stars since they didn't want sell me alcohol because it was "too late" last call is at 2:00am and I attempted to purchase it at 1:50am.
overpriced u don’t even know the price until you pay, one bottle of water took $6, totally not worth it, got to CVS! At least cvs have price list.
I wish I could leave a negative star rating, $40 for a bottle of wine that would be $8 anywhere else is robbery. Way to take advantage of people
Spent $60 on two $10 bottles of wine. If I wasn’t late to the dinner party I needed them for I would’ve walked out. Price gouging at its finest.
Do not buy from here. Prices are 2x higher from any other corner store. Total rip off. Save your money and find another corner store.
No prices on anything in this place and when you get to the till they make the prices up, hugely inflated! Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Everything in this town is expensive but $4.99 for a small bottle of pepsi from this establishment is a complete joke. Avoid
Terrible price gouging not on the map but walk down to Ellis between Mason and Taylor way better prices only one block away
Excellent services, ypu can find pretty much anything you need at Fred's liquor, really nice customer services, thank you!
AVOID. DO NOT GO. YOU WILL NEVER BE DESPERATE ENOUGH. PRICES MADE UP ON THE SPOT. CYNICAL. 100% MARK UP. NEVER!
Way over priced and nothing is labeled. You don't know the cost until you get to the register. Not going back.
Run!! Prices are outrageous even for San Fran! . Tourists beware! Scary at night and the bars are cheaper...
Total rip off. Go elsewhere. Tried to charge $10.99 for a six pack of mini soda bottles
Lady just gouged the prices and thought I wouldn’t notice. Sleezy store! Stay away.
Extremely overpriced, no prices in merch so you don't know until you're paying.
Great spot! Very friendly staff, you can always find everything you need …
Bad customer service and the price was too too much higher than the other
Be careful of this place. They price gouge. ASK FOR PRICES BEFORE PAYING
I don't normally do comment. One star is so good for this place.
Ripp off employee says card is declined. Now I paid double...
It has really good people who work there and they are polite.
$3 for a bottle of water, not sure if they have a conscience
If I could give us zero star, I would. Ridiculous prices.
Very Overpriced alcohol. Prices fluctuate day to day.
Got some drinks and had a wonderful time later.
horrible place twice as pricey and crusty
Was taken $26 for a bag of black cherry!
Other people has said enough, avoid it!
For some items prices are 3x–4x …
Great selection and friendly people.
A liquor store just like any other.
Decent, though small collection.
Totally overcharged us! Beware!
Tried to double charge my card!
Bad attitude and overpriced!
Oh man, place is expensive.
Expensive and unorganized.
Ridiculously overpriced.
Price gouging like a MF
Extremely overpriced
I like these places
Very expensive
Yup
