This very house, 14 Nguyen Gia Thieu street, is the house I used to live since I was born in 1968 till 1972. I don’t recall much of a memory living in Hanoi, but these old pictures show us the good time we’ve had during our staying, despite of the air raid which could happen at any moment. Yes I lived in the war era where air raids and hiding inside the shelter is a daily routine in life.

About the years 1967-1972 this building was the official residence for Indonesian diplomats. It's so sad to see that there has been nearly no maintenance done since those days. It seems as this house will collapse in future time.

So sad. Nobody seems to care about this beautiful vintage heritage. …

We expected something a bit more. It was not worth the detour.
