This library is good, if you plan on just picking a book up and leaving. I have been using it for many years but one of the main issues this library has is that there is only one toilet for the whole library. This is a real problem if you plan to stay in the library for a long period of time. I do like to study in the reference room as they have free wifi, plugs, desks, lamps, comfortable seats and a lot of space. Downstairs is organised and the staff are generally helpful. In all honesty they should get about a 3 or 4 but there have been times that I had to cut study sessions short because I needed to use the toilet and I did not want to wait for the toilet or be rushed once I was in there. They really need to sort it out as the library is not located near any other establishment that gives public access to their toilets. It is probably ok for users who don't intend to spend a long time at the library but if you do intend to spend some time there make sure that you don't drink too much and try to go to the toilet before going to the library.
Poorly run. The best of the staff are now working at other libraries. Some of the remaining staff are unhelpful, loud and treat people without any courtesy. It is in the only library in the borough and neighbouring borough that has a broken toilet for days on end and the way staff behave 15 mins before closing up time is incredulous. No other library anywhere behaves like this. Considering the library was closed for so long and is still on “temporary covid hours” I think management could have a look at these issues with these staff members and improve what is meant to be a place for people to use and these people let down the fewer decent helpful people working there.
An essential community gathering point, Fulham Library is so much more than "just a library". Need to use a computer, print something out, or sit somewhere with wifi to study? Fulham Library offers that. Need more recycling bags? Swing by the library and pick up a roll (and drop off your batteries/printer cartridges in their recycling bins on-site). And of course there's the books - there's lots of them: physical ones, e-books, and audio. Fulham is part of the Libraries Consortium which gives you access to books from over 300 libraries. And it goes without saying that the librarians know their stuff - I've enjoyed all the books they've recommended to me.
We love our library. There are excellent staff. They Are all lovely people ! Very kind and supporting. Well done to management for excellent trained staff and don't forget not only officially serving people but to be very warm welcome from by heart. But the best and very special and high standard professional is Antonio. He is remember customers, knows everything you asked him in library, always ready to help and support for anything he knows or able to help. He loves children and they love him too. He is provide excellent customer service and we will be happy to see this kind of people everywhere around: private, social or business live.
Fulham Library has a reference library as well as general section and childrens’ library. There is a lift and toilet facilities as well as computer access. Lots of books to choose from. The main hall is available for events and weddings and it also hosts the bi-annual art exhibitions of the Society of Fulham Artists & Potters, a local organisation begun in 1952, with strong links to the library where it has exhibited its members works since its founding.
I get that staff have to monitor visitors due to Covid restrictions, but if you actually want people to use the service (Do you?) then be a bit more welcoming at the desk. Libraries are meant for EVERYONE not just the well heeled. It would have been nice to get in but never mind, I’ll get something off Kindle and you get back to your mobile phone.
Small library but with very good facilities such as reliable fast computers to use and printer. Great place to go and do a bit of work in quiet with laptop as well. Book and DVD selection is small, but something for all ages and interests. Staff are always friendly and super helpful. A local gem well worth supporting.
Slightly annoyed as although its a library there was some kind of garage sale going on inside. Not the best thing if you have students studying for big exams who want to come to a quiet focused environment and are met with a room full of loud people selling their second hand belongings. Disappointing.
It has a reference room which is quiet and has a lot of photo and art books.. I enjoyed it there. Yes, there are sections of the library that are loud because of children - when I was there, there was a homework club. That's a GOOD thing. Bigger than it looks with a few rooms / sections.
I feel there should be a separate 'his' and 'hers' toilet facility. One toilet for the who library to use is shameful!! Some of the funds that were used to refurbish the study areas could have been used to improve the toilet facility too.. Provide more toilets and cubicles!
Make sure your kids are getting out and reading because it's so important for their future full stop a great start to get them into libraries and after that you should absolutely take them to the British library which is an absolute gem
In the reading room on the first floor where most are seriously reading and studying, a staff of the ibrary would come in talking loudly to other people. Staff like her need training on how to respect people's need for a quiet place.
Rarely quite. Children singing and crying and they also hold regular knitting clubs whereby we were once told to that they would talk. I don't understand the concept of a library, last time I checked it was up posed to be no noise.
Went there to vote on Thursday 6th May. All the people involved were very helpful with the multi-layered voting papers. Good job, from the sensitive queing system to the ballot posting box.
Great reference room upstairs for studying. However, there is only one toilet for the entire library leading to long lines. In addition, the toilet is disgusting. Completely inadequate.
The best area about this library is the children's section. Staff are nice and helpful. I wish this building has more funding because it's in such a lovely part of the city.
Staff and customers are loud sometimes (but then that happens in other libraries as well). Not too many electrical outlets. Nice old building but can be cold in winter.
Friendly library in lovely area. note : activities on hold due to covid Step free access is under development. There are about 10 steps into the library
Libraries are a beacon for the community! Thank you to the Fulham Library and team for being a place for everyone and serving Fulham so well.
the study area has an authentic atmosphere and it is reasonably quite. the staff are helpful but the place definitely needs some maintenance.
Why can't I just do my work at one of the public computers? It's not like there's a queue just don't be weird about it
Still the best library in the area , still not that simple to order books on line , or maybe that's just me
Good place to study, but soooo cold!! It’s freezing in the study room. Other then that, it’s great.
Wonderful local library with excellent resources complete with friendly and very helpful staff.
Love the different activities going on at my local library Especially the table top sale.
Visited for art exhibition on 1st floor, which is always worthwhile. Easy access by lift
Ok but computers are really slow always correcting you to do things unnecessarily
Very loud, from the singing children (childcare?) to loud staff. Also quite cold.
good selection of books, very rowdy outside which does not help but a good place
Overall quality is good. But there are few things that need to be improved.
There hasn't been a toilet working for more than one month. Shameful.
Extremely fun library! Has a really nice children's room.
The reference room upstairs is PERFECT for studying
