They ruined my phone and caused more damage to it. I dropped my phone off and told the tech that my phone was not turning on (screen went black and would not turn on) and for a while now I have been also getting a water moisture in usb notification (has not been near or in any water). He said he would look at both problems and call me back in a few hours to let me know what was wrong. I never heard back, I called 5 hours later to see if my phone was done. I was told they only did the water treatment, tried replacing the battery and it still didn't work. He never checked any hardware issues, he was waiting for me to call back to see if I wanted to move forward with the hardware issue...Why wasn't I called then? At this point, he informed me he already glued and closed my phone and would need to reopen my phone to work on the hardware issue. I asked more details about fixing hardware issues, I got the feeling he was not confident in knowing how to fix the issue or diagnose it properly. I decided to pick up my phone and paid for the water treatment since the service was already done. I will be going somewhere else I feel confident with. Not even 24hrs later the back part of my phone was peeling off and not properly sealed - they either didn't spend the time to do it properly or used cheap glue. A day later I brought my cell to another repair shop to get a second opinion, right away they could tell the glue was poorly put on. They made me feel comfortable that they knew what they were doing - the tech opened my phone in front of me and explained the process of what could be wrong. After a few days of it being in the repair shop, they informed me that the last shop must have ripped my motherboard up incorrectly and it caused more damage to my phone. Will defiantly never use or recommend this shop to anyone.

GadgetX is lucky to have him as a franchisee. At the GadgetX Westheimer location, you can expect competitive low pricing, capable expertise, and rare authenticity (especially in this industry). Robert understands how to create a quality customer experience. It starts with knowing how to effectively manage customer concerns even amid the noise generated from 1 Star Reviews. I can comfortably claim that GadgetX’s average rating of 4.7 stars, compiled across 751 reviews, is well-deserved and much more indicative of the strong quality service that you’ll receive as opposed to most of the incomplete and lacking 1-star reviews you see (with most of these 1-star reviews having unreasonable and unfair expectations). Despite my skeptical, or hostile, behavior, Robert remained professionally and was able to effectively complete the job, being both scrappy and resourceful, proving me wrong and shutting me up through the quality and timeliness of his work. For potential customers of GadgetX, my advice would be to trust Robert and let him do what he is good at – fixing phones in a responsible, timely manner while providing the customer with cost savings. Don’t act like you know more than him. Don’t rush him. Take his evolving advice piece-by-piece and trust the vision.

I brought by my external hard drive to see if this was an item they could do work on. The technician was not in, so the lady at the front desk called him, handed me the phone, and had me describe it to him. He said he would check to see if he could work on it, and I left the item there. After not hearing back for a few days, I called back to see if this was able to be worked on and was told that they were already trying to work on it. Called back two more times and was told that they were still in progress. Kept waiting more and called back again to ask what the status was, only to find out the technician eventually said it could not be repaired and it was just sitting at the shop. Nobody called me to tell me that. Very disappointed in the lack of communication in this shop since I’ve called multiple times and stressed how this was very important to me for sentimental reasons since it had 3 years worth of memories with family members that are no longer with us. Should have gone somewhere else on Day 1. EDIT: when I went to pick up my dead hard drive, they couldn't find it, had to call someone off-site, they tried to give me someone else's hard drive (mine is pink, not blue, and they should all have names/phone numbers on the tag), then the guy got a call on his cell phone and answered right in front of me. Unprofessional, bad communication, poor organization, really a disappointment and a waste of 2.5 weeks.

Pros: The people here are very nice and have great customer service. Did a fair job communicating with me throughout the repair progress. 3 months later and my console is still functioning. I do not feel as strongly about the value of the repair I received though. Came in for a repair in mid-May for a broken PS4 pro, was told that insects had gotten in and messed with the wiring and that the power supply needed to be replaced. I got told the initial cost would be about 150 dollars and paid 35 upfront. This console had a custom decal and several 100 gbs of game data installed and they had told me that they were going to try and keep the decal and the hard drive in tact. A couple weeks later, they tell me the damage is much worse than expected and that the new cost is 400 dollars with it needing to be sent out for repairs and I agree. 2 months after my initial estimate, I finally get a PS4 back mid July, but the decals are gone and the hard drive is completely wiped. Ultimately the cost of fixing my PS4 pro is comparable to buying one brand new, which I wouldn't have minded if I didn't have to wait 2 months for my save data to be lost and having to redownload data for hours upon getting it back. I honestly feel like I could have skipped the repair and just got a used one instead.

So, yes they did fix my screen, BUT they were not 100% up front with repair time. When I called before hand, I was told it would take 30 minutes to repair the screen. I dropped off my phone and ran some errands for 30 minutes. When I returned, I was told it would be 20 minutes longer to let the glue cure, which makes sense, but that should probably be included in the repair time. After waiting the 20 minutes, I was told that it would be another HOUR for the glue to cure. Ultimately, my 30 minute repair turned into two hours. Technically, the repair only took 30 minutes, and it was the curing process that took much longer. They were nice people, but the misconception that I would be in and out in 30 minutes was just dishonest. What stinks is that, if I was told two hours from the get go, I still would have brought my phone to them. Once again, they were very nice and polite, but their actions and misconceptions were disrespectful. It looks like they check their Google reviews, so hopefully, they will take this to heart and be more upfront in the future. Technically, they didn't lie, but their misleading half truth has lost them a customer. Best of luck!

Got my phone fixed months ago and it only worked for a week. Only posting a review now because after months with issues i’ve finally had enough. Everything was good for the first week after getting my screen fixed and then that’s when the problems started. 3D touch didn’t really work too well to begin with after they replaced the screen (even though they said it was OEM i’m pretty sure it was aftermarket glass) and now 3D touch doesn’t work at all. The back camera started taking blurry pictures and wouldn’t focus, and the top part of the screen isn’t even responsive!! I brought these issues up within two weeks of having my iphone repaired but unfortunately the guy said the warranty was only for one week. Weak excuse, I’m sure they really don’t get too many complaints but i’m sure the screen they put in my phone was a dud. Most of the reviews posted are posted from the customer while still at the store in exchange for some discount. If I knew I’d be needing a new screen after a week of relaxing it I would’ve just ordered one off ebay and replaced myself in the first place.

Horrible place. I took my iPhone In because it wasn’t connecting to the internet. Took a month to get my phone back after several calls. I had to go in the store to get my phone. They give it back. No charge. I get home plug the phone up all night it would not power on. I tried several chargers even bought a new charger to make sure. Still no power. I take it back now they have had it for almost 3 weeks. I call no answer but get a quick text asking do I need sales or service. I explain the issue. I was told still at repair shop. Then to top it off I go in person I was told I would have to pay $80. Phone still not there (3 weeks later). I’m trying to figure out why do I have to pay for a phone that was working just fine other than the internet issue. I was quoted $40 for the original repair. it is supposed to be at the holly hall location. red iphone i called someone was texting me i let them know the issue and i havent got a reply text back.

This business has far exceeded my expectations. I originally brought in a broken phone and had it repaired. The care and kindness that I received was remarkable. My device was returned in working condition that day. Though I bought a new phone with a different provider, I was so impressed that I have since brought in a PS4 (which was in pieces) and 6 controllers (all of which had different issues). Besides waiting for parts, everything was surprisingly fixed. I honestly thought they were beyond repair, but Robert assured me he was more than willing to take on the challenge. He pulled it off! I'm so excited to have my daughter's system back as well as plenty of extra controllers. Besides the craftsmanship, this business provides excellent customer care with a comical touch. It's a must- stop-repair shop for anyone's electronical disasters.

I would never recommend this place to anyone who wants their phone fixed. I took my Galaxy note 9 in to get the screen repaired. They "repair" it and within a n hour or so I'm on my way with my phone. I leave the store and 2 hours later after barely touching my phone, the display turns green and stops working. So I take it back to get fixed the next day and after about 4 hours they tell me they don't know what happened and they have to replace the frame. I literally took the offer because I couldn't stand being in there another day. Ever since that day the display has been iffy and sometimes won't recognize touch. Don't come here, the guy that helped me was very unprofessional and quite useless, frankly speaking because now my phone doesn't work properly.

I highly recommend this place! I’ve been coming to them for the past year already and they have always taken good care of my family! they have fixed my iPhone screen, and also my tablets. All of my family comes here because they’re good and affordable! I’m also so appreciated with them because my aunt had a laptop that she could no longer get it to work and they were able to get ALL of our information from her computer which meant a lot because most of those pictures were the last pictures we had with our uncle that passed away a few months ago. I am so great fil for them to have taken the time to do that for us. You all have such a wonderful customer service! I wish I could give you guys more than a 5 star! Thank you so much!

Avoid. Positive reviews on here are purchased or bribed from their few actual customers. They will give you a free charger for a good review. GadgetX Replaced my cracked screen with another faulty screen. When they faulty screen started to malfunction 3 days after taking it to GadgetX, I was told that they would need to send it to 'their warehouse' to see if the issue was 'my fault', despite having a '30 day warranty'. They first said they needed to keep my phone for 1 day. I went to them the next day and it wasn't ready. I came back the second day and was - of course - told it was 'my fault'. I lost two days of work and was charged 200 dollars to end up where I started.

My phone had water damage, replaced the battery, screen although my phone has light shadow in the corner which came from the water damage they said they’ll be able to fix that. I couldn’t afford to do payment for shadow in corner but definitely will be back. Customer service is great, they make the effort to remember your name or at least your device. I had broken watch, and a water damaged phone. Do remember that when you are getting device fixed your in control of how much your willing to spend and where you want the parts to come from. So don’t fixate on the negative reviews because this shop has big improvement. Thanks again for fixing my “swimming phone”.

Stopped in today for a broken screen replacement and got two nagging issues taken care of while I was there too - a bad microphone and a clicky home button. Both gentlemen were super kind and thorough. They got the job done very speedily and for the incredible price of ~$150 all in. Considering I was just about to upgrade my phone based on all the problems I was having, I'm glad I went this route and saved appx. $1000 instead. Store is big and clean. Was sent home with a complimentary phone charger and a couple of Hershey's kisses (my son was with me) :) So glad to know this place is 2 mins. down the road! Will definitely come back again.

My phone wouldn't charge wired because of liquid in my USB port and it had charging warnings for about a week. First I went to Xfinity store and was told they don't repair phones anymore and that you have to make a claim for $200 to replace. Which btw is crazy a business ethics model I almost fell for but I went to Gadget X because they fixed my wife's laptop. It took Robert less than five minutes to fix the issue for under $30 saved me $200 without having to replace my phone. Great service ! Definitely will be back .

Ask for Mohammed. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and great at answering all the questions I had. I came here with my Google Pixel 2 since it was responsive but had a black screen. He told me the process of how he’d fix it and explained it really well. It took him less than a day to get my phone working again so I was able to pick it up the next day. I appreciated the fact that he took a picture of my phone being repaired in the email he sent me when it was almost ready for pick up. He even put on a screen protector for free.

My Apple Watch stopped charging, I took it to the Apple store and they told me it was 150 to send it off for assessment but that I should just buy a new one for about 300-400 bucks, which blows. Luckily my husband suggested getting a second opinion and thank God I did ! The guys at gadgetx were amazing! They did a deep diagnostic, changed the battery and it works again - all for about 75 bucks! Highly recommended for any of your gadget repairs, great customer service and communicates well!

i would not recommend this place. First of all, I brought my I phone 7 plus for screen replacement: Easy job.. Then he tampers with the home button and messes up the screws on one plate. Instead of telling me what happened he says he can't fix it. So I take it to another Gadget MD Store in Katy and they tell me what this guy did.. The phone was brand new and You messed up my Home Button Cable. Be professional and have the courtesy to fix your mess. Very disappointed.

Reasonable prices, great customer service, try their best to get your equipment operating properly, pricing for repairs are almost always less than manufacturer or program operators insurance deductible would be. For instance my cell phone screen replacement, deductible was $55 & GadgetX replaced it for $45. I continue to return for all my electronics repairs. I would recommend to all individuals in our area of town. Great place to do business!

I am very impressed with Robert Lake of GadgetX cell phone repair. I thought I had cracked my iPhone screen but fortunately he found that only the plastic protector was cracked and I was able to get a new one for only $10 versus over $100 for a new cell phone screen. I am so glad that I found this business and highly recommend them. The shop is organized, clean and Mr. Lake is extremely professional and friendly.

I live in Baytown and I will most definitely travel back to this store because they are fast and the prices are reasonable. Awesome place! When you get there ask for Robert. He is super friendly and will get you what you need for a reasonable price! Do not go anywhere else and spend your money, this is the place to go! This was for a service in January 2020. They fixed an old laptop that got shutdown in 2016 and brought it back up and it is working even today. They also fixed my other Macbook that went blank all of a sudden, in less than 10 minutes. Later they even helped me fix that same laptop advising me to go to apple-store as it is covered by a recall , instead of making a quick buck.

Absolute best experience. After calling around town to try and find a store that had my phone screen in stock, GadgetX had it and was able to replace my screen same day. Robert was amazing. After going to another store that took over 8 hours to fix a charging issue, and didn’t fix it, we came here. Mohammed greeted us and was able to tell us what he needed to do to fix it and what the other business did wrong. I called this place around 3:45 on a Saturday (during COVID-19) and Robert answered my call, listened to what I needed and said he could come to me within 30 minutes and repair. I've been here twice. The customer service is always excellent. The owners are polite and quick. Be aware! They take your phone to “fix” it and call to tell you it’s ready. They change prices on you. They will tell you it will cost a certain amount and then ask for a different amount. I get to the shop and he asked for more money and my phone wasn’t even ready!!!!
