At first they were a beacon of light helping us out with a problem with my truck that had starting issues due to a faulty previous remote starter set up. We were trying to deal with other sources who may help to pay for the issue as we just bought the vehicle. The first younger gentleman that helped us was truly helpful and restored some confidence back to my being, and regardless if the dealer was going to help us out with cost, I was ready to make an appointment to have a whole new system installed properly, as well as have a new radio placed in the vehicle. I'm sure this would have been a good thousand dollar sale for them in the end. On our second visit thirty minutes later, my husband went in to find out if the dealer had called. In all honestly we just wanted the remote start disabled to ensure that the truck would not have any more starting issues due to the passlock key being tripped. However, as my guy was in there, an older gentleman who was not so gentle piped up and yelled at my husband saying that there "was no time". We were really ready to just make an appointment.. As it stands, if they treat their customers so poorly, we will not be going back, and actually found a better deal elsewhere.. A new remote start with door locking, as well as a new video GPS stereo unit which they didn't seem to sell anyway.. Thanks to the younger guy in there who came out to disable the remote start. You have great customer service skills and made me give this place one star.. You should go elsewhere with that great personality you have.. I advise anyone thinking of checking this place out to go elsewhere as the total disregard for future customers is certainly not their priority. I found them on Kijiji - the guy I was speaking to was quick to text and emails, but he did not warn me about the customers that were ahead of me. He booked me for 6PM, I got there at 5:45PM, being very punctual as I am, I waited at the front until some kind lady greeted me at 6:05PM. She says the tech will be there in a second. (all I hear is screaming and swear words as she passed through). I say ok, well I have an appointment with someone at 6PM. Time goes on and its FREEZING in the garage. One of the guys comes in and closes the heater, as he's doing that he's cursing about a customer who complained about a job they did earlier. 7:15PM rolls in and i'm thinking WTH its been over an hour... and the guy hasn't even come out yet... 7:30PM rolls in, the guy who i've been texting and emailing says, hey give me 15 more minutes i'll take your car... Then I said i've waited long enough, why didn't you text or email me ahead of time telling me you were EXTREMELY busy!? NO one said sorry, they just shrugged it off, while tools and curse words in the background kept continuing.

I visited Gain Electronics on Barton Street as they came highly recommended by a friend for my remote start. The team was extremely knowledgeable “ The Best In Car Electronics; Industry standard the BEST THERE IS”  and they are extremely efficient at their job. They shared a step by step process of what they were doing to my vehicle and was thorough with the explanation on how to utilize my remote starter. I could not ask for better persons to install my remote start in my vehicle. Months later I visited as again, as I needed to my radio replaced; again they exceeded my expectations once again! The team was fast, reliable and efficient. I will definitely be using Gain for all my car needs. Hands down Gain Electronics is by far the best installers in the Hamilton region. Jay and his team have been working on my customers cars and my own for over 15 years. From economic Handsfree solutions to old school hi fidelity custom audio, on the most complex fiber optic cars. I have learned to work with his schedule, and his stress load over the years to receive the results desired. 100 % worth the wait. Don’t even bother asking questions just tell him what you want and he will take the best road, and do it clean and professionally. I have never been disappointed. He knows more than the guys at the retail stores and those just selling the products, and he can get you whatever. I was recommended to gain mobile by another trusted reliable source. I was looking to get new speakers, new stereo and a new harness for my car. We called and spoke with Julius and were quoted over the phone. If he needed to look something up and had to call us back he was quick to do so. For everything I had done with them cost 400 $ less then what other stores were quoting. When he was doing the work on my car and he had to add or do something different he called us each time before going ahead and just doing so. I am very please with my car and everything he did for us and would highly recommend him. I will also be going back for more work to be done. I had experienced a break in m November and I went to Canadian tire to ask about what they would recommend in terms of antitheft. The staff at Canadian tire recommended this place and for good reason. The owner was extremely helpful and suggested the proper equipment for my car. Even more impressive was the follow up service in the coming months. There were a few small glitches that I needed help with and the owner was more than accommodating and extremely helpful. He scheduled me in in a timely manner and even though he could’ve easily charged me for the extra service he did not. Fantastic customer service. Will definitely refer others and return myself for any future needs.

I went to have a car starter installed today. When I got in my car and noticed this contraption on the floor I went inside to ask the guy what it was. He said it was the OLD car starter. I bought this car used so I didn’t know it had one as I didn’t get a fob. Why the hell wouldn’t someone call and say “did you know you had one in the car already”. Nope instead they charged me $300 for a starter installation. I had purchased the starter somewhere else! He said he was being honest with me when he left the starter on the ground! NO, BEING HONEST WOULD BE TELLING ME I ALREADY HAD ONE!!!!! Not happy. They should give me half my money back. Would not recommend going here!

Received excellent service and product installation from Julius at Gain Mobile Electronics. I had a Alpine deck installed and rear view back up camera installed which were all professionally done. Clean install job. I also went back and had a remote starter installed which I love. Thanks again Julius for all you time and effort for the installs. I would highly recommend this shop for any of your install and product needs. Julius is well versed in all the products he sells and installs. He also stands by his work and when an issue around with the deck he got to the bottom of it and fixed it for me under warranty. Once again thank you Julius.

Called in and the guy was extremely rude. When I went into the store the guy at the counter looked as if I was bothering him and like he had a chip on his shoulder. I would never recommend this place on Barton st. If you want to go to a gain electronics then go to the one on rymal at least they treat you like a person not like a piece of dirt. I'm paying a lot of money so the least they could do is treat you fairly as a respected customer. I'll tell everyone I know to avoid this place I have a fleet of vehicles and I'd never get anything done from them again! That's for nothing gain electronics on Barton!

Great owner! At first ever visit owner told me for free what coloured wires I need to connect in order for my amplifier installation to work! Did not charge me a penny, or suggest me any services his company offers. If I needed electronics installations such as remote starter, or anything related to sound, this is the ultimate choice. Better than east hamilton radio! Saved me more than $300! This shop owner helped me for free even when my vehicles German dealership could not help me with the wiring. Very honest owner! Please support our honest businessmen! Thank you!

I left my car to get a whole new sound System upgrade and asked the guy to install the best things you have, I paid $1200+ the first price he told me and now after a week I opened my back seat cup holder and look what happened. Who installs 4inch screws through a car back seat? There are two holes in it and it ripped the cloth. I changed the screws too small ones my self now. Very poor installation skills. Please be careful when you take your car there to be safe from any damage because they won't tell you if anything happens.

Wow! Based on reviews I've just read and personal experience with unknown male on phone, I'd say this particular store needs to train/fire one of its employees. He doesn't even know how to answer a business phone properly. I was unimpressed from the get go. Too bad, the price was right too. He just sounded like he needed a change of environment and was mad at the world. Like my old boss once told us: " You could always go flip burgers for a living if you don't like it here!"

I wish I could give them 10 Stars Walked in, scheduled my appointment, next day drop off car at opening and picked it up with no problems at all. I’m very happy with my car security alarm installed on my Mercedes Sprinter work van. Very knowledgeable and help me to install app on my IPhone to monitor it. From tradesmen point of view, very clean and professional installation. Good job Julius. Will be bringing you my other cars and definitely recommend to other friends.

The Jamaican guy that’s in there isn’t only rude but is also highly smug for no reason. He is the reason why black people are given bad names. He said he could do an installation for me only to mess it up and then instead of owning up, he began shouting at me for buying the type of camera I had bought. The nerve !!! I read a few reviews that weren't flattering but took a chance......two guys working there, one guy is pretty cool and easy going, the other guy is very short and kind of a jerk. But they work until you are happy and priced very resonable. I am very happy with the end result. I can tell you now these guys don't care if they get your business or not but if they do get it, they do an A-1 job !!!

Julius and his staff are absolutley terrific. Professional, coutrious and accomodating. They installed a bluetooth receiver in my 2001 Audi TT and made it look like a factory installation! They were fast, efficient and explained during and after what they needed to do so the receiver performs as it was intended. Highly recommend them to anyone needing mobile electronics!

My 18 year old son brought his car in to get some improvements made to his car stereo. They did an excellent job, very clean install and sounds great! As a father of a young teenage boy you always want to ensure they are not getting scammed etc. GAIN did not disappoint and has definitely kept there years of expertise! Will definitely go back and recommend them.

Best car audio in town. Julius has been doing this for a long time and knows his stuff. Had 2 amps, deck and subwoofers instlaled in my caravan. Tough job to do without taking away space for my stow n go. Ran wiring through the vehicle with no damage and they always do neat and tidy work. I wouldn't go anywhere else in town. Good pricing and good service.

I brought my car in to get my Mirror dual Cam with backup camera installed. They arranged same day service advising me to bring my car back at 13:00 pm by 14:40 my car was done and the bill was half of what East Hamilton Radio quoted. Professional installation and quick service. I recommend this business.

My hubby went there to inquire about an alarm. The guy was gone out so the other guy wasn't knowledgeable at all about the prices nd speaking of prices he found them a bit too pricey! Plus the fact he found them rude. Not going back at all. They all need an attitude adjustment. Just saying!!!

These guys are my go to for any audio needs. There's not much around here and these guys do clean quality work. I've had a few hiccups but nothing worth complaining about, just some common sense lost sometimes. I'll continue to be a returning customer.

Arrived at lunch time,called the phone number displayed on the door. It rang for several minutes, no answer, no voicemail, no announcement message saying “not here try later “. Not impressed with poor communication from management of Gain Electronics.

Walk in and theres a dog sniffing all over you. Asked if they could get the dog away from me and the girl did. Man stepped up and said "What do you want?". Walked in there willing to spend $500. No way im giving them any of my money. Awful service.
