The Galleria is eventually closing, making room for condo towers and reimagined green space and a new community centre. The one star rating reflects that last breath of a mall/shopping plaza that once served as a community hub. It was where immigrant families once shopped for groceries, outfitted their kids with affordable clothes, got their hair cut and worn-out working class shoes repaired. The weekends were always bustling, the common areas were crowded and buzzing with conversations containing more than a few dialects. A place where adolescents meet their first crushes and wives could find the husbands playing cards or having coffee with the boys. This is where you could buy a communion dress, suit for the wedding, tuxedo for prom and still have enough cash left over to be a friend lunch. As the customers became more affluent, they moved away and the community started to diminish. The stores inventories started rotating more slowly - you could walk in a year or two later and the same dresses and suits would be in the display - perhaps a little more dusty. The old boys and card playing presisted, almost becoming a private club, but they also started to fade away in time In the dying days the Galleria got the nickname Gonorrhea. The local joke for directions to anyone unfortunate enough to have to ride the Dufferin 29 bus was, "you grab the Suffering 29 until Dupont and The Gonorrhea is right in the corner, you can't miss, look for the McDonald's (also demolished)." Oh, the stories that corner could tell, the lives that were lived, the loves that were found and lost. It might be a one star relic now but it will always have 4 stars in the mythology of a forgotten community.

Galleria Shopping Centre has been around for approximately 50 years. It definitely was a popular Mall in the 1960's, 70's, 80's & even 1990's. Since then the mall declined slowly & steadily. It just happened to be in a location (Dupont & Dufferin) that needed younger families to breathe new life, & with it, the stores that service these residential enclaves. Finally, this long standing familiar site is going to be reborn. New houses, Condominiums etc. are being built in many planned phases. The mall is set & ready to be rebuilt, with futuristic design & fabulous stores gracing it's stage. At the moment, Rexall Drug store & Fresh Co. Grocery store are still operative. But, soon, in the near future...this Shopping Centre will be thriving once again & better than ever!! I'm giving it 5 Stars because on the great service of the past & now the future developments.

The best pet Valu is at this location along with a drive through McDonald's located across the parking lot. They are currently constructing just behind the photo you see above here of the Galleria, which is also where the entrance to the pet value is too. There will be more condos yaaaay said nobody ever. The Galleria is always busiest near the freshco and pharmacy and across the parking lot at McDonald's. Also a very intense left turn out of here onto Dupont if you are leaving through that exit as the traffic is always going, going, going. Great little family oriented location. There is a community center and a skateboard park as well to the south of the Galleria parking lot and a small park on the southeast corner of the Galleria at the back, where families and kids are often seen playing sports on the little field there.

Not so much a shopping centre anymore. Development of the site into, what else - condos, has chopped the mall into a mere sliver of its former self. COVID closures (Planet Fitness, TD Bank, Pet Valu) aside, there aren't many retail outlets left here. FreshCo and Rexall are the only 2 open during COVID restrictions and then there are only 5 total when there aren't any restrictions. Sad to say that, while this "mall" was showing its age (aren't we all?), it's going to be gone for good once the development accelerates. (Yes there will be retail space in the new development but it won't be the Galleria Shopping Centre (or the Galleria Mall as it's affectionately known locally) will it)

This is a small quiet very convenient little plaza as it has the TD bank located inside which is very handy. The people at this branch are stellar employees who always take the time to handle any banking concern you may need. Also, FreshCo is located here and is a great alternative to the bigger box stores with very competitive prices. The staff from my experience have been quite friendly and outgoing which is a nice quality to have in a great location. This is centrally located in the area and a great place to shop. I would recommend these stores and plaza to anyone who wants a convenient stop for banking, groceries, pet supplies or a pharmacy with Canada Post Outlet!!

  • Terry Terry

@TDCanadaTrust Why is it that NOBODY knows anything about your money transfer options to Jamaica? My friend asked everyone in the whole Branch, including the supervisor and he was advised that the only way for him to send money to Jamaica, is via wire. This is NOT true. You offer another money transfer option. You partner with Western Union and a nominal fee is charged for this service. Please inform your Branch staff so that they may extended this service, when my friend goes back to this Branch, where he’s been with since the 1980’s, that he is not turned away

Wouldn't call this a shopping mall at all. It's a shopping center with a few stores, some fitness clubs, a Rexall and a FreshCo. Each of those stores on their own is fine, but the shopping center is very run down and outright ugly. Not much can be done now, as it'll soon be replaced with some big buildings (which explains the lack-luster shopping center :-)). Even so, it has been a useful location, post-office, supermarket and gym all in one. I hope the renewed face of the place will be better for both businesses and locals.

So sad to see this place go. This place holds a lot of memories. Just hanging out to playing video games even my dentist was there till the end. But places that take up prime real estate won't last. And in the world where money rules over all a condo company can offer enough money it will be gone. I say goodbye to all our memories and the neighborhood. You're gone but not forgotten. It will never be the same.

This mall feels like it came out of the 70s. The place is poorly lit and the atmosphere lacking. There is lots of parking but the layout is very poor and cars and pedestrians are often fighting one another as they move about. The selection of stores is poor unless you're looking for heavy discounted-ish / dollarama style stuff. The TD Bank is useful as is the Rexall Pharmacy and the No Frills but that's about it.

  • December Rowland

This mall is being developed. Soon, it will be completed, maybe a year or two. Until then, there's the 24-hour Planet Fitness, which has a hydro bed message. Rexall is open most holidays and a Freshco. There's also a community center with a pool, gym, hockey, skateboarding, etc. or just walk in a shower. This is highly recommended, and there's Dufferin Mall with a Wal-Mart, No Frills, etc, down the street.

Such a disaster and inaccessible especially with all the construction going on. I hate that you can’t get to everything from inside and that whatever is connected is pointless connections from inside. I can’t even get into the grocery store from inside I have to go out to get in. They need to just shut down and start fresh with the new development that’s happening!!!

  • Maurice Sanchez

I use to come to Galleria Mall when i was younger, about the age of 7 to 10. Boy has this place changed. There use to be a lot more stores and shops open back in the day. Now it has a couple of major chain stores taking up the real estate, but that's it really. It lacks options, but it does feel like your back in the late 80's and early 90's.

  • Hoa Thang

There’s not much selections of stores besides freshco, Pet Value, Rexall pharmacy, planet fitness and the Dollarama. This mall would have been pretty empty besides the elderly folks hanging out there. Now that planet fitness arrives you see more young peoples in the mall heading towards the gym, giving it a somewhat lively atmosphere.

  • E S

This Galleria Shopping Center has seen better days. However, you can find a Fresh Co grocery store, a dollar store, a well organized gym, a TD bank and other small stores. So it's still a good place to run some errands. There's a huge free parking lot in front of the mall and a beer store just beside it. Great place!!!

  • Lapsy Kevreki

I needed plastic to cover the meat since it might leak at the cash register but they had none. Also employees will brush against you, or while at the register will come very close and stretch their arms to give something to the cashier without saying excuse me. Not very mindful. Otherwise they often have good deals.

Was built I think in the early seventies and did not change, don't think it was ever updated and for this reason I love it. I took a picture of the "electronics" store that displayed statues of the Madonna in the window. Will cherish the memories. Happy to be part of the fellowship with those who share my thoughts.

Casual family atmosphere midtown mall with Planet Fitness, Dollarama, Freshco, LCBO, Fabricland, small clothing stores, bakery, hair salons, etc working to middle class area Photos are child ride versions of: airplane, boat, car and dinosaur; also seasonal displays of: Christmas, Easter and Halloween.

  • Marcel Conrad

one of the older malls in Toronto and it's showing. not the nicest or most modern mall and you'll probably not spent hours there because of the great time you're having. however, you'll find yourself revisiting this mall because there are some great shops there and all in one convenient location

  • Deema Ahmad

Because there is a site construction which is going to take a while to finish, I believe at certain time in future things will change. But because I live nearby, for now, grocery is within reach. FRESHCO products not always fresh, and prices sometimes are more pricier than NoFrill or Walmart.

  • Dorothy Lewis

Well there's no more Shopping Centre per say due to condo complex construction but there a big gym & nice big clean Rexall with a Postal Outlet & rotating sale priced items & a big Freshco which has a good variety of items, good prices, is clean & well stocked but no self-serve check-out.

  • DEL EMG 7Shadesvodka /OPPFC

This place is gone through so much Transformations and still going through transformation right now it only has a rectal a food basics TV and a Planet Fitness by the time of the building is finished built who knows what will be there but has a lot of history here very very old school Mall

  • El Poi

The indoor mall no longer exists so these photos are misleading. Beside the construction of a high-rise is the outdoor Mall. Pet value, Rexall,Freshco and I don't recall the names of the others. Nice courteous service in all that I mentioned. The Freshco store layout was a bit confusing.

  • Alison Cornelio

The small stores don't have much to offer. The grocery, LCBO and the Planet Fitness are the most worthwhile places to be here; otherwise, this mall is only worth passing by. However, there is ample amount of parking and a friendly vibe throughout the area.

  • Baby

Small dingy mall that takes you back to the 80s. For local needs like shoe repair or Dollarama purchases it's suitable, but it doesn't really offer anything regarding a leisure shopping trip. It has it's weird charm, but there's truly nothing to do here.

  • David Culbert

Its definitely more of a plaza then a mall. Less than average stores and just an overall feeling of being a discount, no name mall. Black Bow however is a great suit rental/alterations place. That's the only diamond in the rough type store to be found

  • Karine Cousineau

Nothing interesting there.. except perhaps the Dollorama and the cheap gym. Unfortunately, a mall of an old era. Might be a good place to hang out if you feel nostalgic. But hurry up since it is scheduled to be replaced by a mega real estate project

  • Datch Haven

It can only be described as the mall that time forgot. The centre is a wide open space decked out in the latest of 1970s fashion, with gumball machines (for the brave), horsey rides, and kiosks that still sell cassette players. This place is a gem.

  • Shari Kasman

This is the best place to go if you want to see what life was like in 1972! If 1972 makes you feel sleepy, you can have a seat on one of the mall's many benches. Make sure to bring coins for the gumball machines and arcade games.

  • Nekochii

First time at this place. Didn't even know there was a mall in that area. I found this place when I went for a walk. It was to late to explore the whole place. I will visit again. Clean place nice service in the shoppers store.

  • I W

Everything you need! Come get your ultimate authentic experience! Little boutiques with the fashion inventory from 90's and favorite sport clubs. Grocery and Dollarama stores. And of course the one and only Planet Fitness!

  • Akhil

The place is average, has limed amount of items in terms of meat and chicken. This outlet is comparatively really pricy compared to even other freshco, so be ready with your price match app to make shopping here afforable.

  • Luna the Bulldog Tran

Once construction is over this mall will be so much better. Been a dive for a long time but good for fresco and the petvalu....can't wait to see what other shops you'll find here once the construction is finally complete.

  • Vincentia Kumala

It has stores for your basic needs - groceries, pet supplies, gym, clothing, and alcohol. It's never too crowded. The stores are on the cheaper range. Washrooms are always clean and there's ample parking space.

  • R Tso

Great place to go for fresh produce. It's huge and you can pretty much get everything you need. There's also a prepared food section. Large variety from noodles to fried chicken. Parking is free and plentiful.

  • JASON PARSONS

From what is was in the 90's to what it has become is a former shell of once was. Which was a mall for families to gather and shop, eat, and enjoy. Now it's 2 gyms, lil pharmacy, and old grocery store. Shame.

  • Vanessa Silva

This mall would be greater if they added some clothing shops or something like that, because the Fitness gym occupies almost 70% of it. It was better the way it was before the renovations.

  • Gigi Gedney

Construction a hinderance, parking minimal and poor lighting at night. Drug store and staff are awesome. Freshco, some shortages and fresh goods nit always the freshest.

  • Justin Robinson

Great quality mall for quick runs for food/supplies. The post office is the best in the area. Always so polite, and deliver the best service for your mailing needs.

  • Myles

Only a grocery store, a pharmacy and a fitness centre here while the new buildings are being built but this location is amazing and the people are legit.

  • Gillian Graham

This area has changed so much, with all the construction and complete restoration. I went to the Post office in Rexall which are quite unaffected!

  • Nadia R

This mall is not what I expected. Everything seemed overpriced. I was not impressed, but inflation definitely has a lot to do with the prices.

  • Namgyal Thinlay

With the construction going on there are still some stores running..the fresco, TD bank, the pets store and gym...still have ample parking

  • William Wong

This is not really a mall. The inside just connects the Freshco, Rexall and the gym. There is no food court or any shops inside.

  • Mike Wilson

Some of the worst parking lot design I've ever had the curse of dealing with. Seems to be in a perpetual state of disrepair.

  • Angel Osborne

Pretty ghetto - went into freshco & it definitely wasn't giving me clean vibes Maybe after construction itll look better?

  • Raymond Costain

The construction is a bit annoying and makes parking difficult but, it is only temporary! Planet fitness is amazing!!

  • Lauren Christerra

Adequate service but not a lot going on. Selection is limited but most of all, REALLY needs modern renovation.

  • Bianca Ghika

I love FreshCo and the RexAll pharmacy I hope they bring good stores once the construction is over

  • Andriy Shalashenko

This is small center, only gym, td bank, freshco and rexall. That's what I need for everyday basis.

  • joe gabriel

only go there for planet fitness and Fresco under construction whole mall will be good when done

  • MOHAMMAD ZAHID AL HASAN

Freshco, planet fitness, rexdel and few banks are there. It’s kinda under construction.

  • Yolanda Cowan

Pretty good and fresh veg but bad entrance and exit roud quality due to construction

  • Michael Nocera

Cute and small shopping center. Doesn't have anywhere to eat but has some nice gyms

  • Jeff McConnell

Buy your groceries here. Period. Best bang for the buck, you will save a fortune.

  • Leanne Muir

Crazy parking! Huge trucks every where. Had to back out of the lane way.

  • Oscar Piel

Washrooms are clean speaks volumes on quality of restaurant

  • Cerberus Goreboy

A shell of what it once was, at least it has a gym.

  • Stephanie Robinson

Nice mall. Clean, good selection of stores.

  • Rafal Lipski

Too bad, they closed the liquor store

  • Geoffrey Bercarich

It's slowly turning into condos.
