Alright Folks. I have been coming here for automotive service since 2013. So no “ schilling” going on here people. I will be quite succinct and frank here by attesting to the fact that the whole team here is the most honest and dependable independent automotive service shop out there. I mean they are “ Salt of the Earth “ good and trustworthy. Reviewers like to highlight the negatives which is their right to do so. However, the context is usually missing as emotions are always thrown into the review. Let me highlight a positive. The check engine light on my fathers car lit up several years ago. I drove it gingerly down to Gary’s to diagnose. Austin came out with his OBDI ( On board Diagnostic ) and discovered that my dad forgot to completely seal the gas ⛽️ cap after filling up at ESSO…. Ye gads !!! Austin cleared the code and said have a nice day …. Wait … no charge for his time and such What is the deal here ??? Well, the fact is simple in that Gary’s didn’t feel that this service warranted a charge. I was like wow…. To see and bear witness to such open honesty and ethics in the auto repair industry ( and we all know and/ or experienced the horror stories … and these stories are true) is beyond refreshing. Meeting the team at Gary’s restores your faith in humanity. In that someone truly believes in a fair charge for a honest repair. All in all, they are even APA ( Automotive Protection Agency ) approved. And that is no easy feat I can assure you all. This a grand slam home run into the upper bleachers !!! We all deserve to be treated fairly, honestly and ethically. And you will here ….

THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever had!!! I have never experienced customer service quite like this before. After my brakes failed, I called the first number I found and spoke to Austin who told me he would take my car immediately. He then put in place a rental car for me before my arrival (which I ended up not needing) and gave me an entire price range option based on my budget and on what was needed to be done in the most efficient way possible. They were able to complete everything that was needed by 5pm that same day and hundreds of dollars under what I had expected to pay. The absolute BEST part was that they cleaned the interior of my very messy car!!!!! I left in tears because of the gratitude I felt towards everyone at this auto shop. Austin was amazing. As an added bonus, it was also the cleanest, most organized mechanic shop I’ve ever been in in my 25 years of driving. This is BY FAR THE BEST MECHANIC in Oakville, if not Ontario! This is my first time writing a review for any service yet alone an automotive shop. I take very good care of my vehicles and am picky with who I entrust to work on them. After growing tired (and leery) of dealership service, we brought our vehicle to Gary's after reading all the favourable on-line reviews. I was not disappointed. They typically have loaner vehicles but they were all out so Austin gave me a ride to work. Austin called me 45 minutes later and clearly explained the issue with my vehicle's brakes, what was required, and an exact price. He also quoted me a fair price on replacement tires. When I returned to the shop, not only was the work completed but my vehicle had been cleaned inside and out. Austin even took the time to fill out a tire rebate card AND a tire warranty card as he felt my original tires failed prematurely. Not sure what the result will be with the warranty but clearly this service was above and beyond what I expected. Needless to say, I will be back for all my automotive needs. My son found Gary’s Auomotive and was full of praise for them when they serviced his Honda Civic . He particularly liked that his car was given a wash before it was returned. Since then I have taken my daughter’s VW Golf for fitting a set of tyres and then some engine diagnostics and repair. Their Customer Service is awesome - not just at the front desk- but the mechanics too while we were waiting. They don’t talk down to you - and we’re particularly diligent at explaining the work to my 21 year old daughter. We were kept informed about the repair and were prompt at replacing a belt tensioner which they tested and found it faulty. They kept the car overnight and didn’t give the car back until they were satisfied that the replacement was working properly. The final bill even came in about $75 cheaper than the quote - and when does that EVER happen? I drove MB cars until recently and always had the cars serviced at the Dealership. They were good too - but the cost was always breathtaking! Gary’s are great and definitely worth a try. I’m hooked.

Simply the best! Even 5 stars doesn't seem adequate. My first ever Google Review was for Gary's Auto around 10 years ago and I feel it's time for an update. During that first interaction, Austin asked me what my goals were with my 2009 Honda Accord. I told him I wanted it to be running for when my then 6 year old daughter got her driver's license. Well, 10 years and close to 300,000 kms later, my now 16 year old is driving the Accord and it's running better than ever. It literally drives and rides like a brand new car and I know I owe it to Gary and Austin. Quite simply, they are the best. I'll admit that I am a very particular person; I like things done the right way, and these guys exceed my expectations every time. I actually enjoy going to the shop. It's meticulously clean, well run, and there's always some great back and forth banter. Who thought bringing a car to a mechanic could be this kind of experience? As I told Austin the other day, "I'm a customer for life".

This is my second time reviewing Gary’s. I’ve been taking my van to them for the past almost 5 years. Currently I’m out of town and have had to take my van in to mechanics I’m not familiar with and Austin has been available to answer my questions and give advice - even though he’s not getting money for these repairs. Austin even recommended that I might be able to do a repair myself recently - and I did, saving several hundred dollars. You get what you pay for and with Gary’s and Austin you get quality and peace of mind knowing that your vehicle is getting the best service out there. They are honest and super nice, too.

I went to Gary's Automotive today for the first time to get a drive clean test done. I chose their shop because of all the great reviews and I gotta tell ya as soon as I walked in I believed all those great reviews. The place was immaculate and the reception was like no other garage that I had been to. I felt very confident that this is a good shop to have work done and it will be the place I go if I need something fixed. That is saying a lot when I was there only 10 or 15 minutes. So, like Arnold would say, I'll be back.

I contacted Austin at Gary's Automotive on Michelin's recommendation for a tire warranty claim on my BB8.5 A4. I was met with prompt and professional customer service. They were able to execute the acquisition of parts and conduct the repair with precision. From email contact to invoicing, I have not dealt with another shop that operates at this level. I would recommend Gary's Automotive to anyone. If I could give 6 stars I would. Thank you Austin for your continued support.

New to Ontario, I had to have my vehicle through the safety inspection in order to register it in Ontario. I went to Gary's on the recommendation of a friend. Austin was very friendly and accommodating to my requirement for a fast process due to travel plans. For the day of the service, I needed new tires as well, I was given a loaner (even if it was a Smart :). The cost was very reasonable and the service excellent over all. I highly recommend the shop and Austin.

I've been coming to Gary's for over a year, Austin and the team do great work. I know nothing about cars but I don't feel spoken down to, intimidated or like I'm being sold unnecessary work like I have at other places. Just honest assessments and if you have any questions they will explain and discuss options. They really provide a quality service for a fair price and take care of you and your vehicle. I have and will continue to recommend them.

We used to take our vehicles to the dealership. However, we never got the service or care and attention we liked. We wanted to find a local mechanic, so we tried Garys' auto after reading the reviews and only have great things to say about them. Austin and Gary care about their customers, they are honest in their assessments and pricing and on bigger jobs lend me a car for the day. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends.

I'm so relieved to have found this place. An honest, fair mechanic is priceless. We've gone in a few times for our problematic, old BMW and each time Austen has been so helpful. He clearly explained the problem, suggested some options and helped us weigh the pros and cons of what needed to be fixed immediately vs what could stand to wait. I visited Gary's Automotive for a tiny fix. I havent had an appointment and it was an unwanted intrusion to them. However, Gary has managed to sqeeze a bit of his employees time and fixed the issue with my front bumper number plate. Its not always what had been done but also the experience that counts. I'm in love! I can't believe I have only just discovered Garys Automotive! Today my check engine light was on, and there was some concern about the drivability of the car, Auston had me come in, ran some diagnostics, topped up my oil and gave me a plan. He did this all last minute on a hot Friday just before they closed! Very grateful for such incredible customer service.

Since December 2021, Our team has been going to Gary’s for all our maintenance needs.
