Was unlawfully refused service due to having a service dog. Was told by employee Patrick Booth that we must sit outside, and when requested indoor seating, he explained it's company policy to not allow dogs regardless if they are a service dog indoor seating. He further stated that it's a health code. After I cited that they must be allowed under the Americans with Disability Act, he furthered his attitude and stated he has the right after this unlawful disability discrimination to refuse service as I'm supposedly not a kind person. He stated he has the right to refuse service to refuse service to anyone for any reason, including disability. All this and there was already a non service dog sitting at the bar, as you can see in the picture with the employee behind the bar inside" I am a combat Wounded disabled veteran who was with 3 other disabled veterans and 1 family member when this incident occurred and this is absolutely unacceptable. I will be opening an Americans with Disability Act case against this establishment and encourage the management/ owner of this facility to reach out to correct this discrimination by their employee/manager Patrick Booth

I don't usually write negative reviews but I feel I have to give people a heads up about this one. My group of 6 and I came here to watch the UFC fight because there was no cover charge. Servers were passive aggressive from the start and made us feel unwelcome. At one point when I tried to order tater tots with a passing staff member, he didn't even look at me, kept walking, and dismissively responded - And I kid you not - "don't ask me." I guess he was a bartender and not a server but he could have at least acknowledged me more appropriately or offered to redirect a server to me. I asked to speak with management afterwards and they appeared polite, genuine, and understanding of the concern. She said she will speak to the team and did mention that the particular server above was "having a bad day." Still inexcusable imo. Unsure if anything will actually happen. In terms of food, it was mediocre - but that was fine to me. It's what I would expect from a sports bar. 2 stars for poor customer service that ruined our experience here. Would be 1 star but management appeared to listen. My group and I definitely wouldn't come back.

Was recommended by the concierge at our hotel.. Walked down and was greeted by a nice lady as she walked out the bar. We then sat at the outside bar Mohawk wearing bartender ignored us for 10 minutes talking to friends with 3 patrons at bar. Finally came over we asked him to wipe trash from counter he stated he wiped it earlier, Actually had to show him the trash for him to agree to wipe it again and halved wiped it again.. Another 10 minutes go by before he came back with attitude stating in a loud angry voice we can’t vape at outside bar ‘we stated sorry no problem and put it up’ bartender still mad I guess because he had to do his job and wipe a counter off . Stood back rolling his eyes and now 30 minutes have gone by still no drink taken nor order place .. so we left … Went a few blocks downs to Whisky Girl … Greeting was excellent at doo and bar top … Bartender Loraine went far a no above making drinks and being nice… Thanks whiskey Girl for making our first day start off excellent…

I wanted to go to a tavern for a solo dinner, and I was not disappointed. Good crowd, good venue, and awesome energy. For food, I ordered the Infierno burger with tots and an order of fried pickle chips. The fried pickles and burger were mid at best, leaving the tots to be the star of the food items. That being said, I looked at the menu before going, so I knew what I was going to get. The service was top notch, and that goes a long way in a high energy joint. If you’re from out of town and looking for a fun, laid back place to go in the Gaslamp District, you shouldn’t be disappointed here. Also, the open air feel adds some fun to the mix. I would go again for sure.

Meh. Not bad per say, just not worth a stop. I had the chicken, and my date had nachos. All I can say is they were both mediocre. Nothing about the food made me inspired us to want to return. It was fine, but boring and bland. Service was also so so. Our waitress came by when we were clearly finished, glanced over, and then just took off. We wanted to pay and go, but didn't see her again for 10 minutes. I glanced over and she was having a shot, and flirting with a patron at the bar. I had to flag down the matire d to eventually get the bill. Places like this exist because of their location. They get enough walk in business from tourists to stay afloat. This restaurant wouldn't last 2 months if they had to rely on local, repeat business. Much better to be found. Keep looking.
We decide to check this place out as it wasnt as busy as the rest of the restaurants on the street. We had an absolutely terrible experience. I understand the current "food with drinks" laws can be frustrating for servers in an environment for casual drinking.. but there is a right and wrong way to make customers aware of the policy. I'm also confused about the menu... the photos here on Google show an awesome, detailed menu, however, what we were handed had about 6 options on it, half of them being appetizers/sides. When ordering an appetizer to start, we were very rudely reminded that we each were going to have to order more food. We quickly learned why the tables there were empty.
My girlfriend and I were just hungry both times we went with no intentions of drinking just though we try there food and they turned us away because she forgot her ID in our hotel room then said "I guess you can sit on the other side of the gate" like we are dogs or something ended up leaving before we ordered both times because both bartenders were extremely rude! We always give people a second chance because people do have bad days but they obviously dont care about customer service. I dont recommend this place. Tony's pizza and the mexican cantinas place right next to it the owner is very personable and cares for his guests eat their instead and spend your money with a good owner.
Came at half time during a padres baseball game (premier league guy…. Don’t even like baseball) after 1 beer the waiter stop serving us…. Maybe he was over his shift.. but that does not excuse the service we where given. Sincerely disappointed since I go here often, but now I would not suggest any person visiting this establishment while this server is present There are plenty of other establishments who will server you and provide quality service while downtown. Don’t get me wrong, food was great! Staff tho… yea no, don’t come back

We went for an event upstairs with really good DJ music but the drinks were horrible and the service was just as bad. Drinks are served in red plastic cups and the only options are coke or some other soda with rum, vodka.or cheap tequila, and you pay $10. A man came out of the Women's bathroom out of nowhere claiming to be security. The place was a circus. Maybe the downstairs is better during the day, Im not sure, but even the lady charging for tickets was very overwhelmed and rude. She couldn't describe the music that was playing or the event itself, but was selling the tickets for it.
The live music and the drinks made it a 2 star experience but the bar was completely mis-managed. For 2 bartenders they were both only managing one side of the bar so ordering more than your first drink was miserable. The first round was only assumed that the tab would go to one friend instead of asking if couples were separate. When asked to put the second round on another card the bartender refused. Leaving us with frustration and asking to close out to move on. They order why the group next to us left without paying... because they didn't pay them any attention until it was too late.
My family went there Sunday evening at 6 thinking we were going to get dinner there. It’s 6 pm and we’re walking into the place and this dumpy-looking bouncer try’s to get in my 16 year olds face, and then asks him for ID. No where on the website did it mention that it closed down to families, especially that early. Then “bouncer” acts like he is doing us a favor and tries to let us in. We immediately walked away. If it was closed to families at that point, at least put someone outside that can communicate that instead of someone slightly more productive that a doorstop.
Great food, amazingly slow service. The staff seemed to be relaxed, walking around with no much purpose. Took forever to have someone to get our orders. At the end of our lunch, we saw our waitress drinking at the bar. I'm not sure whether she was done with her shift or just chilling. Anyways, we had to go to the bar and request the check in order to get out of there. Probably won't be back again.

The service was excellent however, we called early to see if they were showing the UFC fight and they said they were, so we traveled over an hour away to try and see this fight and came really early to secure a seat in which we were successful but they did not show the fight at all....so pretty much we wasted our trip. This is something that they should have prepared for ahead of time and squared away all of the details. Unfortunately they lost a customer because the first impression leaves a lasting impression. At the end of the day we got catfished
Everybody needs to be aware that this place is on the bottom floor of the building. There are stairs to the Quad Alehouse towards the entrance of the building. Ultimately, this place had a great atmosphere with great food and service. My girlfriend and I went here and shared fries topped with pork, cheese, gravy, and other toppings. I had a burger as well and it was very good. At the time there was a Star Trek 30th anniversary beer that we both had and it was delicious. This is a good place that I would recommend to others.
Me and my bf went their and it was just OK. We ordered nachos they said it's homemade cheese sauce but the cheese was horrible. Bar tender also said the chips are made fresh everyday but we got them they where stale!!! At the end we got BBQ wings and they where amazing! I ordered a cucumber drink but they didn't have anymore cucumber vodka and I told bar tender to make it how she thinks would be best without it. Idk what vodka she put but it tasted like dry wine! It was grossed. Only thing we liked where the wings ♀️
Loved that we could side at an outside bar. The games on TV & the beer selection were good. The service started rough but got better. When you're a first time visitor and you ask the bartender what he recommends and he replies with "read the menu" you kind of wonder what you're going to get. But he came around. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. Prices were very fair & we were pleasantly surpised by that when we got the bill.

We were staying at red Gaslamp Plaza Suites and this bar is opposite so is perfectly located. After a long day visiting several tourist sites it was time for a few cold ones and this bar delivered. Great choice of beers etc etc , we opted for the Voodoo ranger on draft and it was superb. After a few we ordered chicken tenders and dirty fries , both good sized portions and delicious so full credit to the kitchen So a nice way to spend a couple of hours and no hesitation in recommending the Gaslamp Tavern
This is a great place to go watch a game or just hang out. They are dog friendly. The bartenders are super friendly and they make delicious drinks. This is an Eagles bar but they always have multiple games playing on game day. If you tell them what game you are interested in, they will do their very best to make sure you can see the game from your seat. (not guaranteed but they do try ) They have brunch specials and a separate dinner menu. The food is delicious, especially the crispy potatoes. Yummy!
Pub outing #3 on my tour of pubs in San Diego. Gaslamp Tavern is located in, you guessed it, the gaslamp district. I'll admit I ordered something pretty ordinary, although the regulars were praising the chicken tenders which looked really good. I went the healthy route and had a chicken salad which was good and filling. This pub is not British or Irish themed as the others but have a great people-watching view from the bar (see pictures), and the atmosphere is welcoming.
Patrick, Matt, Emily and Jamie keep me coming back. Every now and then you encounter a tender who is too big for their own bar, which can take away from the friendly neighborhood feel this bar has which keeps the locals coming back again and again. Very happy to see nachos return as well as their original happy hours from 3-7 pm weekdays. Great place, especially if you enjoy a smoke while having a drink. Patio bar is where it's at!
This tavern is the best spot in the Gaslamp for happy hours AND is dog friendly. Solid food options and a friendly staff. I’ve been going here for 8 years and have never had a bad time. Ask for Bryan, he’ll set you up, also a solid support system for random trivia questions. This man knows all the answers. Friendly regulars can be found here. Talk to anyone or no one, it’s gonna be a good time either way.
Walked pass this establishment many a times downtown and never stopped in. Today was the day and I enjoyed it. Bartender Patrick was great and it wasn't to busy during this time. I was able to enjoy food and beers during this time in a quiet setting. The margherita pizza I ordered was light and tasteful plus the mango cart's we're perfect combo. Just fyi, they also have $5 special beer (daily I believe).
We had a great time here! Menu looked like typical bar food offerings, but everything was really great. Burger, cheese fries, nachos (massive), egg sandwich... items our group ordered and all were delicious, exceeding our expectations. Beer selection was a bit sparse, unfortunately. Bar staff was very helpful and friendly. Great place to hang out after comic-con. We will definitely go back.
Not a big selection of beers, but Jamie pours a nice drink. Other bartender, not so much. Forget her name, asked for a jack with just a splash, couldn't even smell a hint. Ok, fine, but asked her if she could hit it a little harder, and got a bunch of attitude. Had to order a double, and that's in a short glass. Pretty tasty bar food, I'll keep going back, but I'll watch who I order from.
Friendly staff but only mediocre food and drinks. TV at our table was broken which for a sports bar seems like something they'd care about. It's fine if you just want a beer and some bar food.

Wings were great, very crispy and lightly sauced. Ordered the Tavern sauce which is a mix of bbq and Buffalo sauce. Chorizo papas bravas very good. All the food came out hot and there were no leftovers. The pretzel is also very good. It’s a large portion so enough for two to share. Good service!

Brisket sandwiche was excellent. The venue was also the perfect spot to watch the game. The crowd inside was lively and the bartenders kept everyone's glasses full. Great time and great food. They smoke their own meat on location.

I looked up reviews around the hotel I was staying at. This place seemed hopeful based on other pictures here. But when I asked 3 bartenders about food options or food menu, I was told there's NOTHING available, despite seeing several plates of wings being served to others... not sure what the deal was, but definitely going elsewhere for the night
Big bar. Food mediocre at best. My burger was so salty I could not eat it ($13 4oz patty). Homemade chips were good. For the UFC fight they had a $10 cover even with standing room only. Not sure why they allowed a couple people to dine inside upstairs with their puppies running around amongst guests. Huge screen to see the fight.
I'm sure this place is great at night. Stopped in for lunch one day and it just wasn't hitting it. Generous options for burgers and tots but nothing over the top.

Your average run of the mill sports bar, nothing special. Their TV's are pretty old and a couple are just not working4. Food isn't all that great for a sports bar and we got a lot of different plates among the 10 of us that went. None of us thought much of the place.

Good food and drink. My only problem was the smoking. Ok its outdoors and back in the day it was a natural part of a bar experience. But breathing smoke that has been in some random lungs was a fail. I should have left. However the Mexican food from next door and the yummy Old Fashioned cocktail kept me seated.
Really enjoyed this bar/restaurant. Sat at the bar and was taken care of with great service. Pitcher of Pacifico was only $10. Had a spinach salad with seared tuna. It was great. Cute bartenders and plenty of TVs for games. Right in the heart of the Gaslamp district in San Diego. I plan on going back.

Only stopped in for a few beers, but we received great service. We were waited on promptly, ordered two of the same beers and the bartender suggested a pitcher to save us money. She was very attentive even though we didn't order much and she even remembered my husband's name when giving us the tap.
Great place to just hang out, particularly on the first floor where you can do the good good people watching during SDCC from the patio. Staff is friendly and attentive, diverse beer selection, drink like a regular and feel good here! Bathroom is on the second level, up the stairs or elevator.
I was very impressed with this place. The food is delicious, the cocktails are on point and the customers and staff are friendly. This random guy photo bombed me which was probably the best photo bomb I've seen lol. I'll definitely return the next time I'm town. LTS recommended …
Margherita pizza is an unsalted saltine cracker with thick tomatoes and soggy mozzarella cheese with pepper on top. Do not get it. They also did not have all the ingredients for the drinks on the menu so I could not try the white peach margarita and had to get a tangerine flavor instead.
Could not be more pleased with this place! I brought a large group (~30) here during the conference, and it couldn't have been easier to set up. The staff was really helpful both before and during the event, everyone was served well, it was priced well, and it was a great fun atmosphere.
We stopped by for a quick drink. The ambience was very nice and conducive to an afternoon out with friends in the Gaslamp area. Of course the cost offerings through the roof. But the drinks were well made and tasted very good. They were doing a booming business almost standing room only
The only good thing about this place was the nice bartender. The brisket on the brisket tots was so dry. They burnt the ish out of my husband's burger. I mean char was all over the plate from it. The elotes tasted sour. The beer in a bottle tasted like metal. Not a good experience.
Waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged, then once we ordered our beers (the taps were right in front of us) it took another 10 minutes to get our beer! I asked if we could get them and got terrible attitude. Too many great beer and burger places to have to put up with poor service.
Popped into this venue and had a drink while hanging outside on the patio. Great spot to grab a drink, people watch, enjoy a drink and good tunes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I’d highly recommend checking out this venue if your looking for a fun spot.
Good place to grab a good snack and drink while keeping it under 20$ if you are a college student like me. Otherwise for the decor and atmosphere, very friendly and busy. I would recommend this place if you want to chill somewhere and take your mind off of things.
Great place to catch a game and get some grub. Drinks are about average; your regular selections. Prices are good, so is the food.

Short on help like all the places but sitting on the sidewalk seats and watching Bumapalooza is always fun for me. Truly great entertainment. The food was good and they had a problem with drinks for whatever reason so stick to something in a bottle or a can.
Between Christine, Jamie and Devon you cant beat the service, been here in SD for five days and been to the tavern four. Love the food, good beer selection and tons of screens to catch whatever game you want! Definitely coming back next time I'm in town.
Wonderful place. My buddy Darren and I were on vacation from Los Angeles, and this was the perfect spot! We came in on Thursday, November 18th and could not have been more satisfied. Thank you, Emily! I ain't gonna lie...I have a super crush on you!!
This place had a pretty chill vibe going on when o went. What was completely unexpected was how great the food was. It’s next level bar food — the pizza tots will change your life!! Sorry I had half eaten them before I thought to capture them…lol
I just moved to San Diego and I come here every Wednesday for karaoke and it is the highlight of my week! The flatbreads are top notch and so are the bartenders James and Issac. Love gaslamp tavern and the people that make every Wednesday so fun!
Visited during the 2nd shut down. Yes, I know we were supposed to be staying away. Food was excellent, drinks were excellent, and all of the staff were observing and enforcing all of the state mandates on safety. I'd go here, plague or no.
Oh my God their burgers to scream for I mean I have never in my life bitten into a more scrumptious Burger in my life the drinks were great the employees are great that's a great little hang out and the food is 10 plus Stars plus good

Fantastic food mid-day on a Sunday. High quality, flavorful, and filling. Service was excellent; really attentive and quick. Perfect place to watch football with the NFL Sunday ticket and many TVs. Coffee was nice and strong too.
THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!!!! Best bar food in so long we had to go back for another round before we left San Diego just to try it and the bartenders are equally amazing with their skill in mixology and a good selection on drinks

Visiting from Florida and decided to stop in for lunch, this one of the best burgers I've ever had. Will definitely came back on our next trip out here, great staff and atmosphere as well …
Great local bar. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bartenders are great and the drinks are well made. The GT also has a nightly happy hour. Food is just OK. Burgers are the best item on the menu.
We came to visit on a mini-vacay and they had awesome, friendly bartenders. Stiff drinks, great vibes, good music, and we got to mingle with the locals. And reasonably priced! Thanks guys!
