When I rang to book our stay I was very clear with the lady on the phone on what we needed; I gave her the dimension of our camper trailer, told her it was a soft base that needed to be pegged in and opened to the left of the draw bar. She told me the site number that should work and that was the last I heard. When we arrived we were met with exemplary customer service but I was then presented with the map showing me to a different site, at this point I thought nothing of it as I assumed that maybe she had worked out a better option for us. However, when we arrived at the site we quickly noticed that this wasn't the case and the site was a large concrete slab with the gravel spot, which was needed to peg our camper tent down, out to the right. We did a quick lap and it was obvious that the place had no other options for us, plus we had just been in the car for 3hrs with 3 kids and had plans we were running late for so we wanted to get set up quickly, so we made do by stretching ropes across the concrete to secure the end of the tent but it was definitely not ideal. The site also backed onto the creek that I specifically asked to be away from as I had a toddler; although, this turned out to be not so bad and having a direct line of site to the playground was convenient as the kids could run down there and play while we were setting up the camper and yet we could still easily keep an eye on them too. The really frustrating part is that I took a look at the site I was told about over the phone and it was definitely a better option so obviously someone moved us for someone elses convenience and ignored the requirements I expressed at booking. At the end of it all it was really just a place to sleep for the weekend while we were attending family events locally and as much as it wasn't a horrible experience we will not be returning to this park as we feel it just isn't suitable for our needs anyway but I just wish someone had recognised that the site we were given was not suitable for the information I had made the effort to provide them.

Gawler is a great little town I stumbled upon. The Gawler caravan park was a nice easy access, leafy park and clean amenities. No pool which would have been nice on this 41 degree heat day. Staff were all beautiful and I would have given them 5 stars BUT I arrived with a chipped windscreen that cracked ( the staff said with the heat it probably made it worse) Obriens didn’t have my replacement and couldn’t get for 10 days . The lovely lady at Apia spent ages ringing around and got a local guy with stock to agree to come do it as soon as possible. I had informed the reception to see if I could stay on my site until he arrived (as the car park was unshaded and in the blistering heat and not nice for the windscreen guy to work in or me to wait and my young puppy to wait in) I said if all your guests arrive come tell me to move ( but was concerned with moving the van with the full length crack) but the park was not busy. I said I would walk around and was more or less packed up but if he takes a while it would be nice to make a cup of tea and keep the electricity to my fridge. They said not a problem but we will have to charge you a late fee if after 12. I understand it’s a business , been there done that, but as the toilets are locked between 10 & 12 I wasn’t using anything other than a little electricity and tree shade. Sitting her waiting I feel it’s not the money but not giving someone a helping hand when they have had a bit of bad luck. This was already the most expensive site I had stayed at to date . The last one was $14 cheaper and said if I stayed after 10 that was fine …. So that is why I haven’t given 5 stars , no pool or help in a kind way .

Despite the 42 degree heat the air-conditioning was on when we arrived. Made welcome was close to amenities everything Cosi said there was. Bit noisie due to traffic but got use to it after a while. In all dam good value for money.

Great value
I just stayed 8 nights in my caravan (powered site), and I had a great time. And the staff were great. I had family come over from WA and they stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cabins, and it looked really nice, but they said they got a bit of road noise because there cabins back right along side of the main road (it's not terrible but not great either), but they didn't seam too concerned about it But I loved my stay, and it was great to catch up with family who I haven't seen since before covid. Cheers

My partner and I stayed at The Gawler Caravan Park to attend a friends wedding in Gawler. They were using my car (Jaguar) as their wedding car. For this reason we had that vehicle and the one we used to tow our caravan with us. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and allowed us to park both vehicles safely within the park grounds. The amenities block was the best amenities block we have seen at any of the parks we have stayed at. The park is perfectly located to attend any events in Gawler and would also be perfect if you are visiting the Barossa Valley. Cannot recommend this park highly enough

Perfect Cabin #7 for a peaceful extended stay on my own. The bed was comfortable and the robe was great for hanging and storing clothes on shelves. The little portable induction cooktop worked brilliantly, pots, electric frying pan, cutlery and even storage containers were all supplied. Even a decent sized fridge. An overhang on the breakfast bar would have been a little more practical but for a single room cabin there was nothing more you could ask for. The shops are just a walk away. A very convenient and friendly cabin & caravan park Thank you for a lovely stay.

Clean and friendly tourist Park. Boom gate entry has been updated to use a code instead of keys. Very hospitable managers. Pet friendly cabins and villas. Our return visit after a year has not been disappointing. Park is well maintained and all staff are friendly and helpful. Our dog is very relaxed staying here.

Quiet
Stopped over for one night. Greeted by extremely friendly staff at reception who were happy to accommodate us last minute. Our site was quite uneven and not so nice being fully on gravel with no concrete pad or grass. All other sites looked quite level. But lots of gravel and dust. The kids park was very sad and tired. But still in working condition. We did not use the camp kitchen. The toilets/showers were absolutely sparkling clean. Flawless even. Little road noise. Good location close to town. Nice setting in the trees.
What a lovey caravan Psrk. One of the Best. Don't be put off by the address, it's super quiet , all you can hear are the birds. Lots of shade . Lots of beautifully kept grass. Spotless modern ablutions. Thankyou cleaners!...Good job. And to Tracey and Peter...what super Hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Always cheerfull. They just make you feel so welcome. And to Gawler Shire. What a great job you've done keeping the Heritage and rural feel of the Town but still meeting the needs of the Community. we will be back
The best caravan park we have come across in our travels to date. Everything about it was great. Clean park with plenty of bins, clean ablution block, clean laundry with all machines in good working order, wonderful management who couldn’t be more helpful. Sites and roads were large enough to easily reverse van in. Great location with walk paths for walking our dog, many attractions and tours that could see us very happy for many weeks. Our only disappointment was having to leave. We will definitely be back
My sister hired disability cabin...the cabin was in no way suitable for her husband who has Parkinsons Disease. The bed was horrible. Facilities in cabin were awful. TV tiny little thing. Really you need to upgrade your disability cabin. I was so upset to see my sister and her disabled husband, in thus place. "it was a dump." Just horrible. Road works outside their cabin. Just horrible. In the managers credit they did refund 5 days rent. Really they should have refunded the 7 days.
As an ex Gawler Girl travelling back to Gawler for a visit and staying at the caravan park first a couple of years back in a cabin (which was lovely and clean and very comfortable) and this time in a Motorhome on a powered site I have no complaints. Easy access to our site, toilets and facilities close by and very clean, and was even able to use the laundry late at night to get our washing done before hitting the road early next morning. Highly recommended
Do not reccomend staying here at all, first they put us in the wrong cabin not the one we paid for, and used the excuse of well that's what happens when you book online! Cabin is really old and outdated, very dirty not cleaned properly in a long time, a huge spider left in electric box in main bedroom, ants crawling on ceiling and benches. Arrived to no linen for the kids beds either. I would give this park a wide birth if you visit gawler!
Cabin size is great. Could sleep 4peope in relative comfort. The kitchen layout makes it hard to prepare food for 4 or more people. Visitors have only 3 dedicated parking spaces outside the gates.

Noteworthy details
The cabins located next to the road is in the wrong g position. The traffic noise is one of the reasons i won't stay there again.
We stayed 3 nights. Great comfortable, clean cabin. A lot of noise from the main road. The cabin beside us was very noisy late at night unfortunately and I had trouble sleeping. The caravans and cabins were cramped in spaces. But overall good value for money. The hosts were very lovely people and recommended us to the local attractions.

Small cabin but everything worked, this cabin had a special key to turn on the power, which needed to be removed when you locked the door to go out. Meaning nothing could be left charging while out. But the AC heated the room up fast so no big deal. UPDATE 2023 - over priced, I know things have gone up but it was almost $200 a night, much better places along the road have been half the cost for better.
Wonderful park with lovely staff. Very welcoming and friendly. I have stayed at this park on multiple occasions over the years and can't fault the park. The staff recently allowed to use their accessible facilities regularly for showers following a leg injury with no worries which was very helpful. Would absolutely recommend staying here.

Just want to thank Wilma, Mike and Veronica very much for all their help and support whilst we isolated for two weeks in a cabin. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and provided us with everything we needed. They showed compassion while we went through the worst time of our lives, losing a loved one. They even gave us flowers. Thankyou so much. We truly appreciate it.
Nice and clean facility stayed in the villa over Easter and the road noise was too loud and noisy! Couldn't sleep so we left 2 days earlier than planned and lost the money we had paid. Nice couple just unfortunate our holiday was cut short.

Kid-friendly
Pros and cons Pros: Friendly staff Shade and beautiful trees Clean amenities Functional laundry Cons Too many smokers including in the office Kids not welcomed. We had some bitter comments whilst our kids were extremely respectful of others. Playground is old and dusty. Bbq are old and useless Kitchen is minimal Little spots, caravans are stuck one after another. Overpriced.
We stayed 2 nights in one of the dog-friendly villas at Gawler Caravan Park on 28 and 29 Dec and were really impressed. The villa was in immaculate condition, it was modern and clean with good amenities (lovely en-suite, well-equipped kitchenette, good storage space). The manager/owner helped us with a tiny issue and was very hospitable. We would definitely stay again.
Nice clean park. Only letdown was the position of the revers cycle aircon, during a few days of extreme heat it did do nothing to cool down the living area of our cabin. Even on normal hot days the cold from the aircon did not reach the living area. We mostly had to use fans to cool down. Certainly would stay again.

I was fortunate to have received the last cabin as all the others were fully booked we enjoyed our stay so much Lovely and quiet very clean and tidy cabins with split system air conditioning a big plus. All Staff and even the lovely cleaning girls were all so lovely I would definitely choose staying there while in the northern suburbs than anywhere else.
With a short notice appointment at the hospital, I rung for a cabin. I was given the "flagship" of cabins. Pretty darn good. Comfortable bed, great pressure in the shower too. When I realised I had to stay another night for more doctor's appointments, there was no trouble at all. Everyone I spoke to were friendly and happy to help me out. Thank you.
Really friendly staff, powered site WITH TV antenna and connection supplied, no extra cost. Free WIFI. Amenities extremely clean and hot, hot showers. What a great idea to have a hand sanitizer OUTSIDE the amenities door, no need to use your sleeve etc on the door handle. Short walk to Coles and main street.

Excellent location, staff were fantastic! The main road gets noisy, but goes quiet through the night. I loved hearing the kookaburras. The cabin was a good size and easy to access. My only issues were trying to get through the boom gate (Key is hard to insert if you are too far away). And the bathroom was a bit tight. But other than that all good.
Friendly greeting on arrival, works wonders , travelling with our Kelpie which was a worry but not a drama, Sally was as welcome as myself and wife. Cabin was lovely and clean with no smell whatsoever from allowing dogs inside. A realy nice park to stay with everything a traveller needs.

Omg stay here! Amazing management they couldn't do more to help you. Great for all types of ages. The cleanest place we have stayed in Australia. We couldn't complain about anything at or with this park.. its secure safe and friendly. Pets allowed on leashes it also has swap and go gas. Extremely pleased …
Spent a week here and have absolutely loved it. The owners couldn't be more friendly, accomodating or helpful. Thank you David & Mary Axon and a side note, the Java Hut is just down the main street for meals. Make sure you book a table on the week end or their inability to be able to seat you may be upsetting.
Very good amenities. Everything was spotless. We paid $29 for a powered site. Arrived after hours but they still let us in. $20 deposit required for gate key and office doesn't open until 8 am so it makes it difficult to leave before then. Lots of bird wildlife, very close to city centre and barossa Valley.
Stayed one night. A nice little park with friendly staff. Not a lot of green area but clean and neat. Was upgraded to a relatively new one bedroom villa which was well set out and very comfortable. Allow for the fact that it is next to a main road so there is road noise. Enjoyed the short stay.
Have stayed at Gawler Caravan Park many times & are about to book in again next week. Facilities are spotlessly clean at all times & staff are friendly & very helpful in every way. Charges (powered sites for us) are well priced. We are gidday members.

Recently stayed 2 nights in one of the 6 bed cabins. Up to date and lovely and clean. Road noise to be expected as on a busy road, but not unbearable. The park itself, very quiet. Late check ins well catered for with clear and concise instructions. A pleasant experience. Many thanks.
Stayed overnight last week (was suppose to be 2 nights but had to leave early unfortunately to family illness) but great accommodation, very clean, friendly hosts. Traffic a little loud off the highway in the cabin we were in however it was pet friendly and we hope to stay again!
The managers are careful and caring about their customers and employees. Amenities are clean and well maintained as is the laundry with card or cash payments. Dog friendly and close to town and shopping. So come and see for yourself trust me the park and ammenities are fabulous.
We stayed in our caravan for 10 weeks at Gawler Caravan Park. We absolutely loved it. So quiet, peaceful and beautifully maintained. A ten minute walk to Gawler Central shopping centre and so close to Murray Street for cafes, shops, pubs etc. Loved it and would stay again. 10/10
We really enjoyed our short stay at the caravan park. The reception staff are friendly and more than helpful, the park has a nice feel and the cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable. The laundry is well equipped and the kids liked riding bikes and playing on the playground.
Love this place and the staff. The only people who complain about this park are those who do the wrong thing. If you like peace and quiet and the company of your pets this is the place for you. Please don't be put off by negative comments, come stay and make up your own mind.
Got a powered site last minute, staff member my partner spoke to was very friendly and helpful as we got in after hours. Amenities were nice and clean and the hot water was AMAZING! LOVED that there was 2 sets of keys to the amenities too, so many places only give you one.
A very big thank you to Tracey and Peter who made our stay so terrific. They are so helpful and at the end of our stay we felt like part of the family. The park is close to shops and all the attractions around the area. Thanks so much again Tracey and Peter. Lisa and Rob.

We really enjoyed our stay, except the last 2 nights, a bus came in with heaps of kids and parents / minders. The kids were noisy up till 9pm, but the adults stayed up chatting very loud on the cabins verandah until past 1.30am, which was disappointing end to our stay.

Our cabin (#3) was neat and clean altho quite small. No oven or stovetop altho a small plug-in hot-plate was provided. We thought it might be noisy being near the main road but it was actually quiet at night. The staff were lovely. We would stay here again.
A very good park with plenty of shade.. we were able to choose from several sites. The sites are not large but we fitted. The amenities were spotless, especially the laundry. The walking track provided easy access to the town and a dog friendly parkland.
Overall and cabin and facilities is awesome clean and feel secure when you stay here. The public toilet and shower room need security key to entered. Short walking distance to natural park and we have good photos and some fun activities at the park.
Stayed here for 2 nights recently and was really impressed ... Amazingly clean facilities.. like brand new is a large beautifull shaded park and extremely friendly residents and staff. Would recommend this park above all others in gawler area …
Gawler Caravan Park is not too far from the city, Barossa Valley wineries and the Riverland. A day trip to the Burra area is worthwhile providing you have a car. The park looked clean.I was only visiting and therefore didn't see the amenities.

Wonderful people. Suzy is what makes this place even better. Comfortable rooms with air-conditioning and heating. Mini fridge and showers, all you need for a comfortable stay. Thanks for taking us to the airport good food too …
Did not stay, but only dropped in for a shower ($5 ea), since we were currently in a campervan. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and understanding. The showers were clean and excellent, the park was clean and tidy.
Nice and enjoyable accommodation if your deaf. When it comes to night time The walls are paper thin in the cabins and there is a never ending symphony of cars and trucks screaming in the background while you attempt to sleep.

Really good on the whole, friendly staff and clean services in a location close to a train station and plenty of shops. For us it was a bit let down by a grumpy long term resident that didn't seem to like new neighbour's.
Friendly service, clean facilities, tiny cabin with only double sized bed in the main room, and 2nd room was a bunk that was wall to wall, so if you are tall or have tall family, it might not suit, otherwise very good

Great area close to the city public transport ,busses, train station and taxis. The cabins are clean fully self-sufficient. Outdoor pool and bbq area , friendly owners and staff are always helpful
Stayed in family cabin, very old run down, overpriced and filthy. Cabins placed very close together, Neighbours smoke coming into our cabin (we have a newborn). Parking on top of each other.
Friendly hosts, extremely clean amenities, we've travelled a lot and they are probably the best we've seen. Nice and quiet, and dog friendly. Our place to stay now, when coming to Adelaide.
