  • "Buying a home is stressful, loads of things can happen from slow robot solicitors to building delays, I would have had a breakdown if it wasn't for the help from Gecko especially Fiona, I was having a lack of communication from my own solicitors but not only did Fiona deal with Geckos solicitors she even managed to push my solicitor and get answers for me, I really think if it wasn't for Gecko and like I said especially Fiona I think I'd be in a hotel still waiting, but we're in and besides the stress of packing, moving and unpacking we love the house, and yes there are snags to be dealt with which you have to expect with new builds, guess who is dealing with the builders on our behalf, yes Fiona, like I said, there are snags which need attention but I really feel that Gecko have my best interest at heart and I feel that I'm not just a number and feel valued, great customer service, highly recommend"

When I arrived there was absolutely no parking whatsoever! However you can have the privilege of parking your car in local supermarket for £90 a month!! Along with the ridiculous service charge and all the other annual fees gecko homes charge"

    "Avoid at all costs, their 'new' apartments are shocking, missing paint , carpets not secured to the floor, advertised to come with brand new appliances which didn't work when we moved in, and took over a month and a half for them to get someone to fix, missing paint on the walls, windows still dont shut or lock after 7 MONTHS still hasn't been fixed , fire doors which unsafe and are well out of regulation , the quickest we have had an issue fixed is a month, for the money you pay for these apartments you are well and truly ripped off, shocking company, just blame everything on the contractors and refuse to let you speak to them directly, AVOID AVOID AVOID"

After 4 patient months of trying to get Gecko's "after sales" team to resolve my list of outstanding snags. They've decided to give me the blanket response that they are all "cosmetic". My favourite of which is the kitchen tap that they have attempted to fix twice now. The entire tap turns at the base (see pictures) when you want to redirect the metal hose into the basin and there is a large gap where the basin and tap don't fit together properly. This is clearly going to break in the coming months and likely to cause water damage if not fixed. I have sent pictures, videos and invited Gecko to come and see it for themselves but had the offer declined because they’d rather wash their hands of any responsibility by declaring it cosmetic. I will be starting my claims with the LABC housing warranty and a sperate claim against the builder, Tyson Construction who is part of the NHBC.

Shared ownership is supposed to be something that helps people get on the ladder but it’s becoming more of a way to line the pockets of the people at the top and keep people stuck and skint. Not on at all!

I am currently living in this building since September and Gecko is breaching the contract we have. I am already having humidity in my flat thanks to the poor quality of the job done in my shower. My wall and floor are suffering now. Also, the company next door built a low quality rain water drain. Every time is windy, this bangs against my flat, causing a very disturbing noise that doesn't allow me to sleep or work from home. THIS IS A TORTURE!!!! They don't respond, they don't fix anything.

I went to a show home event in Monton which I booked. I left disappointed really, no one greeted me when I went inside I had to ask for brochure's which no one got me as the sales reps were to busy asking people to try the cake that was on the side. I was in there for a good 20 mins and no one spoke to me once. I get it was busy but at least 50 people turned up at once and I booked a time slot so maybe don’t book so many people at once I could barely move inside the tiny flat.

Gecko has been very attentive and responsive to our needs. Their fantastic customer service and prompt handling of requests have made our renting experience enjoyable and hassle-free. Tracy, Rachel, Eddie and the rest of the office team, have consistently provided helpful support whenever needed, making the process smooth and reliable. Walid the person who manages our property is helpful and approachable and just a phone call away!

I have had a few issues with my apartment at Minehead Court but eventually these do get resolved after many emails and telephone calls. Initially I am told that these defects are nothing to do with Gecko Homes but clearly they are and in time the job does get done. I mostly speak to Tracy and find her to be extremely helpful and pleasant with good customers service and a caring attitude and therefore gets the job done.

I have just completed on my property which I purchased through Gecko homes, who have been absolutely brilliant throughout the process. I dealt mainly with Tom, who was brilliant, but even when Tom wasn’t available, whoever was free was more than happy to help and answer my questions. The whole process was smooth and seamless, I genuinely couldn’t recommend them enough. Top class service.

Gemma supported me from the open day all the way through to my handover day & nothing is ever too much trouble for her. The team are extremely freindly & efficient including liz on admin! Generally good, some queries taken longer to address but urgent matters are dealt with in a timely manner. The developments are very nice and good quality, some design faults (I.e residents car parking open to public access ) that could be improved upon but all in all good quality housing. I particularly like the two roof terraces at the development where I live.

After a bad experience previously from another housing company Gecko were a breath of fresh air and so easy to deal with. We dealt with Fiona within the team and she has been amazing from the beginning and gone above and beyond from the initial reservation of the house to now with us being 8 months in the house.
