In May 2023, Gene Johnson Plumbing (GJP) installed a Navien NPE-A, tankless, gas-powered water heater at my home in Shoreline, WA. The process was very smooth from start to finish, and I would highly recommend GJP for any residential plumbing project you may be considering. I didn’t realize this at the time, but Gene Johnson plumbing actually sponsors my buddie’s cycling team, Launchpad Cycling. I think it’s so great that GJP is investing in the community, building relationships with their clients, and providing top quality workmanship at competitive prices. I will continue to refer people and use GJP for my own plumbing needs for as long as they continue the same level of service I received this year. The quote process through GJP was excellent. A plumbing technician, Aaron, both provided me with a quote and performed the installation, ensuring a cohesive experience. Too many times in my experience contractors have had poor communication between the sales crew and the installation crew, resulting in unmet expectations. I had also gotten several quotes from other companies, and they all wanted to charge me a fee for the quote, but GJP did not. Also, GJP was willing to consider the discounts other companies gave me in order to give me a competitive price. GJP worked with me to help lower the total cost of the installation, and to ensure that the installation met my preferences and technical requirements. For example, I required them to use special hardware (hanger bolts and slotted strut channel) to mount the tankless heater in such a way that would not damage the vinyl siding on my home. Even though this deviated from their usual installation methods, they worked with me to ensure that the attention to detail informed by my Professional Civil Engineering background was satisfied. I can thankfully say that I am definitely satisfied with my new instant hot-water system installed by Gene Johnson Plumbing.

Our home heating system failed and after multiple interviews and estimates for this LARGE project we selected Chad and GJP. He was detail oriented, meticulous in his plan and able to come up with work around when necessary. He explained the work, and he and Alex quickly earned our trust and respect. Aaron, at his visits, confirmed our confidence in the plan and during the actual implementation. This was a 7 week project, and we even entrusted Alex and Chad to work while we were out of town a few days- there was never any issue of any type that required our concern. The end result is not only aesthetically a gem ( yes a heater/hot water and distribution set up that is sweet to look at) but also meets all our goals for the home in a highly energy efficient way. This was a truly amazing job done by these two, we could not be more satisfied with the result. Importantly, they will stand by their work should this require some adjustments as the cold weather approaches and long-term as well. In the modern era of “work and run”, GJP is not one of those companies. They have gained our life-long trust, I am up 2 Topo-Chico’s, and our 1950 home has entered the 2020’s in its infrastructure. Nathan came and immediately pointed out a faulty installation that was against building code that a previous company had done. He gave me the information to basically call them out on it since it was a hazard! Like lawsuit level. He didn't have to do that, but I am so grateful because it essentially saved our lives since it had something to do with a gas leak. The honesty, professionalism and kindness that I received from Nathan is what made me move forward with my next plumbing issue. I didn't even need to shop around. Their work was quality. The customer service was top-notch. It was really easy to schedule something. I felt like they communicated with me very clearly and respectfully. Prices were up front from the beginning. Everything was done to code and warrantied. I'll be recommending Gene Johnson and Nathan to all of my neighbors.

Found Gene Johnson Plumbing based on Google reviews and was not disappointed. Dan came to fix the kitchen faucet which was leaking. He even went and got a faucet to our liking, as we decided to do a full repair which includes the Gene Johnson warranty. Install was fast and no more leak! Prices and options were shared up front and Dan patiently answered all our questions. Dan shared that our pipes are very old and should be replaced, which I'll bring up with our HOA. Really appreciate the service all-up, including the dispatch lady, all the texts and emails, overall great service. Would highly recommend Dan, he is very professional and our cats approve too.

Today Mike Blake came for maintenance on our water heater & rooftop plumbing job. Mike was wonderful! Last week we had someone booked from Gene Plumbing who cancelled at the time of the appointment. After this we didn’t know what to expect from the company. However, Mike’s hard work , professionalism, kindness & workmanship made up for the cancelled appointment. Thank you again Mike. They were professional, courteous, and efficient. They explained everything they did and answered all my questions. Tyler is honest and straight forward. After exposed my water line there was a sleeve situation. He could not pin point the leaky spot. We were on site right away. I understood the situation he was in. He proposed another plan: replace the whole water line. I agreed that was the best option due to the complication. I am glad that I hired Gene Johnson this time. They are professional and experienced.

Joey was able to give me three options for our crawl space sewer repair, and got it done expertly. I appreciated how he explained the issues and showed me pictures and video. It was a messy area to work, I missed one of his calls, and flushed when I shouldn’t have, but he was gracious about it all. I feel very good about the solution he came up with.

Excellent workmanship by Chad Hendrix. Removal of old equipment and installation of new boiler system was handled efficiently. He is a great guy who is respectful of our property and it was him work in our home. He showed pride in his work. I highly recommend Chad.
