I had not been to a dentist in years and this specific Gentle Dentist have taken very good care of me. They have a hiccup or two with their texting (if you don’t opt out) but other than that the whole staff are just so kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I moved to New Pal and they were honest with me and told me New Pals office was just as awesome but there’s something about this office that I don’t want to leave. Thank you All! From your scheduling department to your billing department to all of the Dr’s staff and herself - thank you for continuing to give me a good experience and not scare me away from coming back! This review was left a few months back in 2021. Fast forward to March 2022 - (the number of stars are literally for the first review) this office placed a crown (I paid 1100 dollars out of my own pocket) knowing they shouldn’t have and have not reimbursed me a penny for it. The temp crown fell off, which isn’t abnormal. But they had issues getting that to stick when they first tried. They prefer to “credit” my future visits - which I don’t plan on going back to them. When I left the office they didn’t offer to protect my tooth at all- as they told me it was too bad. They told me if I wasn’t in pain I could I had a few weeks left before I experienced any pain due to where the tooth fractured and my gum line. Dr said she could see some exposure and still didn’t offer to help the day I was there. She sent me home with a referral for oral surgery that I will again have to come out of pocket for. I love Dr. Wilmore, just didnt like nothing was mentioned about reimbursement when I was told what happened "rarely happens". Just didnt set with me well. I let my insurance company know what happened so hopefully they can help me out. I’m assuming my insurance company contacted this office because the next day they blew my phone up with VM and text messages asking me to come back in so they could cap my tooth if I wasn’t having it pulled that weekend. Needless to say - I’m on the ride of finding a new Dentist. March 9th 2022 - they have refunded my crown payment by check.

I cannot express enough how highly I would recommend this office, and especially Dr. Awad. After being terrified to go to a dentist for many years, I feel blessed to have chose this office. Despite the fact that my mouth was in the most horrible condition, I never once felt judged, embarrassed, or put down. Every single time I have come in there over the past year I have been greeted by name by either Carrie or Brad. It’s such a small thing but I think the small things say a lot about a business. Especially a dentist office where most people are often afraid to be there. I have little to no wait, and often times am seen earlier then my appointment. Carrie has also been so wonderful about keeping me up to date on my treatment plan, as my insurance will often change the portion I pay vs what they will cover. She has always made herself available to answer any questions that I’ve had. This office even went as far as to work with me so that I would be prepared to feel confident & beautiful on my wedding day. We planned the appointments in advance, and made sure everything would be completed on time. They were gracious enough to work around my schedule. I can’t say enough good things about the office employees here who are really just the cherry on cupcake. Dr. Awad is the sweetest, kindest, and most gentle dentist I could have ever asked for. She showed compassion and concern, and never treated me poorly despite the condition my mouth was in. She went out of her way to work with the lab technicians to make sure the look and fit would be perfect for me. Even communicating with them when she wasn’t working. Her kindness was genuine, and honestly so much than I had hoped for. Every single dental assistant who worked with her during my appointments were exceptional and kind as well. Their excitement for me was refreshing. It made me feel as though it wasn’t just a job for them. There really aren’t enough words. However, if you are at all hesitant or afraid of the dentist then I urge you to reach out to this office for an appt. They will take the best care of you.

I had an appointment at 2:50, an appointment that was made 3 months in advance. This appointment was a reschedule as the original appointment needed to be cancelled due to an unavoidable conflict (cancelled 5 days in advance). Shouldn’t be a problem, right? Well, my appointment was cancelled without warning day of because I didn’t confirm via text. However, I did confirm via a phone call a month or so before the appt. In NONE of the texts did it say anything about confirming being a requirement, and unconfirmed appointments will be cancelled. “When you don’t confirm with your doctors office, they cancel your appointment.” -direct quote from the office manager. Idk what doctor staff goes to that just cancels appointments without warning, but they should find a new doctor. When a patient no shows, the office usually just bills insurance. What is the purpose of sending a text saying “ Hello from Indiana Gentle Dentist - East Washington! We look forward to seeing [patient] on [date] at 2:50 PM. You can call or text us back at this number if you have any questions. Thanks and see you soon!” If the appointment is going to be cancelled without warning the patient? Another point is that others have had the same issue with this flaw, and Gentle Dentist has recognized it and noted it should be changed. Specifically a review from FIVE years ago. A true shame that a medical office feels they get to waste patients time, money, and energy.

First off, let me begin by saying I never write yelp, google, Face Book reviews -- but after my experience with Dr. Dana I felt it was the only right thing to do seeing as she has spotted the problem and taken care of my one-week pain and ear infection. I was having a tooth ache and also ear pain for almost 1 week. One of my friends suggested I go to check Gentle Dentist in E Washington, Indianapolis, IL. I went into Gentle dentist office and was greeted by a very friendly staff and felt comfortable through the entire process. I met Dr Dana and her assistant, I explained the symptoms and from the pain that I had I couldn’t spot which teeth had a problem. After she checked my teeth, she spotted the problem and she told you need a root canal. Guess what !! this is not the first time, I have done root canal 3 times but honestly this time I did not feel the pain at all. She talked me through the whole thing and made me laugh quite a bit to lighten the mood . It’s highly recommended dentist office and Dr Dana is great. It's a very efficient friendly office, the staff, especially the hygienists are wonderful too to spend time with and fixing your tooth. Even they called me the second day to check on me and see how I am doing, great staff, office and Doctors.

My kids and I went here a long time ago. Everytime both of my kids had a mouth full of cavities. They told me I had my first cavity. They hurt me filling mine and ended up having a hard bite. I had issues with coldness for several years. I had no sensitivity before the work they did. My last visit I felt scammed. They told me my son had 2 more cavities in his baby teeth. They filled them and then told me they were so small they didn’t even have to numb him. They really drained my pocket and made me terrified of dentist. 7 years later or so my child had a visit to the dentist after years of not seeing one. Magically no cavities. Now I know I was scammed. They were telling me there were cavities when there were not. That is the only way if every 6 months there were 2-4 cavities in both my kids mouths, but now after 7 years they are both fine. Glad I found one I can finally trust.

I liked this dentist until maybe a year ago. I had a root canal and crown, they struggled to get the right crown (probably had two appointments to get it fitted) and then it came off twice within a years time. Then, they told me I needed another root canal on a tooth I’d had no issues with (the previous tooth had me in so much pain I couldn’t sleep). Crown popped off again around the same time and I wanted a second opinion on the root canal anyway so decided to try a different dentist. New dentist said it just needed a small filling, had no clue why they’d recommend a root canal. The filling wasn’t even really a concern for him. He’s going to try a new method for the crown rather than just trying to stick it on again. So I’m going to be out of quite a bit of money (again) but at least this crown should last.

I had avoided the dentist for a couple of years due to some mild anxiety and, of course, overthinking about how far my dental health had diminished. Walking into Gentle Dentist on Washington Street, I felt comfortable and relaxed, almost like I was at home. I wish I could remember my hygienists name because she was simply amazing at her job and extremely confident in herself which made this trip so much easier! I have never had a positive dental experience, to my own liking, in my life - whether due to discomfort or an unsatisfactory environment, today changed that for me! Thank you Gentle Dentist, E Wash for making this experience amazing and treating every step with utmost professionalism!

My three children all had a dentist appointment at 2 so we arrived there at 145, checked in and sat down. The guy at the front desk came out into the waiting room and told us in front of everyone that since we didn’t respond to a text message that they sent we would have to wait for other people to be seen first... at first I just said ok that’s fine but the more I thought about it the more mad I got that we had to wait for an appointment that we’ve had for 6 months because they like to have a text back.. so we left and the guy at the desk could have cared less and couldn’t have been any less remorseful. Not everyone lives on their phones and has time to respond to text messages.

OMG a dentist that don't do general cleaning. Gave a estimate for $10k what the hell they think retired people just throw away money. And the front desk lady told me they don't do general cleanings really . Went back to prior dentist Family Dentistry on 10th street appointment made for cleaning. OMG dentist do do general cleaning she got a good laugh when I told them you don't have general cleaning . Insurance even called and said they have no clue what they are processing. Dollar amounts etc not matching to insurance. They told me definitely find another dentist that knows what they are doing.

The staff is very knowledgeable the Maintenance Dentist sure knows what she is doing if you don't need it she will tell you but if you do need it she will tell you why. I just went 5-3-2023 and what I went there for the Young Lady did a Great Job she explain what she was going to do she ask if I was having any problems which I did not except I need a Partial Plate because I am chewing on my back gums which makes it Soar so as soon as my insurance kicks in we gonna get that taken care of so if you looking for a Dentist I HIGHLY recommend Gentle Dentist on E.Washington.

Honestly the worst dentist I’ve ever been to. The fillings keep coming out and chipping off. Not only that but they’re patchy and not even covering the entire hole! I’ve had to get it redone twice and at this point I’m not going back to get all 10+ fillings redone. Can’t even fill in the holes properly, you can still see the cavities, it’s not even how my tooth was shaped before, and didn’t even fix where it needed fix near the gum line. I’m so done with this place. I feel it was rushed and carelessly done due to me being pregnant.

Setting up appointment by phone was super simple and pleasant. Upon entering the office we were greeted by name and walked through the process for my daughter's necessary treatment. They were upfront, efficient, and thoruogh about costs as well. The staff was super patient and kind with my nervous child as well as the other children with me in the waiting area. I was nervous about seeing a new dentist. Glad they're still Gentle Dentist employed because I can't say enough about their effeciency and kindness. Thank you!

Absolute ridiculous lack of professionalism. While I waited for over an hour for an appointment, the receptionists sat there laughing with each other about how bad the appointment schedule was for the day, and calling their friends to cuss loudly on the phone for the entire office to hear. Twice in the last 6 months they have canceled appointments for my family within 24 hours before the appointment. They used to be a great reliable quality place, but over the last 2 years has really gone to hell.

Charged me 50$ for having to cancel an appointment due to a family emergency! Receptionist refuses to let reschedule another appointment until I pay 50$ for having to cancel! Front desk person is scamming people for money! Be careful going to this place!!!! The extra charge for cancellation is not explained during your 1st visit. Office staff are horrible and have no sense or understanding of customer service fundamentals! EVERYONE GO TO ASPEN DENTAL!!!! The service us much nicer and consistent!!!

I have been going to the Gentle Dentist location for the past 12 or 13 years and I have never had a bad experience there. Everyone on the staff all the way from the front office to the doctor dentist lives up to the name of their practice. I have no desire to go to any other dental practice but this one because they are consistently professional , polite, and very personable. Also concerning their prices I've seen other dentists charge almost twice as much for what gmGentle Dentist charges.

I got up at 4:30 to make it to my 7am appointment, and they cancelled on me after 6:30. Ok, things happen, right? Well, on the date I rescheduled I was 9 minutes late & they wouldn't take me! How's that for lousy customer service? I've also overheard the office manager talking badly about a patient who was simply being a bit chatty. The dentist is nice enough but the office staff is unprofessional.

The new Dr at this location is the best dentist I've ever seen. She is genuine, kind, caring, and takes time to talk to the patients. The hygienists are also lovely and take great care when cleaning, examining, and conducting x-rays. They are extremely gentle and check in with patients' comfortability through the entire process. This team is by far the best this location has ever employed.

Today was my first appointment at Gentle Dentist. I had a very pleasant experience as the team and staff are very friendly and customer service is great! I absolutely love Dr Hunt! She has been my dentist for several years. I like her so much, I’ve followed her from where she worked in Bloomington to where she is now in Indianapolis; best dentist I’ve ever had!

Everyone there was amazing. Amy was so kind and understanding and extremely helpful. Alex was thorough and kind and very personable and the Doctor was attentive and listened to all of my concerns. Everything was affordable with my insurance and when I reached my max they helped me plan around that. Overall best dental experience I have had so far

I will NEVER go back!!! Instead of giving me my receipt they gave me anothers patient's info... And i mean all her info.. I had her ss number address name and date of birth.. They are unprofessional.. They never called me back to take care of the situation!!!! Do not trust them with your personal information!!!!!! Go somewhere else!!!!!!!!

The doctor and the hygienist were amazing. They were kind and patient, and took their time to put me at ease. The front desk staff was welcoming and the billing staff went out of their way to find solutions for making certain I could make an affordable way forward in the treatment plan needed. Great experience for this dental chicken!

I would recommend Dr. Erika Hunt-Guzman and the Gentle Dentist. Scheduling is easy, text message reminders are nice and I was able to reschedule via text before which is amazing to me. Dr. Erika and the staff are very friendly. They went over out of pocket cost before I scheduled my next appointment as well. I have no complaints!

I was very afraid of the dentist, horror stories beyond belief! But this year I was determined to overcome those fears and find a dentist. This practice lives up to its name - the doctor and technicians are gentle and kind. They explained everything thoroughly and made it easy for me to know what was coming next. I've avoided the dentist for years, but now that I have found this practice I will be going regularly. The office staff was very helpful, too.

The dentist is so kind and gentle. My husband's mouth was in horrible shape, but I have had a hard time getting him to go to the dentist in the past. She and her staff have worked very hard to make sure he feels comfortable while getting the care he needs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this office to anyone.

I recently had an appointment for root canal and it went great. From the infection to the finish of the procedure, everything went smooth. I didn’t think a root canal would be so easy! Dr. Awad explained everything very well. She and her assistant did a superb job taking care of me. I would highly recommend.

Very nice people... BUT took my child for what I thought was decay on her two front teeth they told me it was just build up. It's worse now and it wasn't just build up it is decay another dentist is now taking care of her teeth! I don't trust this place now! They should have known decay when they seen it!

Currently they are only open on Fridays by appointment and they have about a 2 week wait on appointments right now. The facilities are clean, setting up an appointment by phone is easy, and it was cheaper and faster to get the prescription toothpaste my brother needed from here instead of the local CVS.

If I could pick no stars I would. Very disappointed in the care we received. Was told my son had 8 cavities so I got a second opinion. Turns out he only has 2. Very dishonest and unprofessional. Doctor did not take the time out to address concerns. Very untruthful about the dental plan recommendations.

When I Called and ask if I could get in to extract a tooth. I had a appointment in 24 hours Doctor that pulled was very gentle as well as her assistant s. I would tell people refer someone to this practice/location. Been a patient for over 3 years.

I’ve always disliked going to the dentist and only went when I absolutely had too. About a year and half ago I started going here. They are by far the best dental office I’ve been to and I will continue to visit here for all my dental needs.

I had my first appointment with gentle dentist this afternoon and I’ll never go to another dentist. They filled three of my teeth under an hour and were so polite and professional. Five stars.

All of the staff here is so kind, communication is clear about everything. Anytime I’ve needed accommodations I’ve been worked with. Getting ahold of them for scheduling/questions is easy.
