Off the bat, the people who work there are not lawyers and legally are unable to give you legal advice due to some Texas state law. Now they are very patient and reliable, and are willing to work with your schedule provided you also do try to work with them. If you need documents then the people at the Law Library located on the Seventh Floor can help along with them having copy machine, fax machine and internet access. I will say the building does have an interactive directory on each floor which is located close by to the elevators on the east side of the floor.
Don't bring any glass (ie perfume, lip gloss, etc) or aerosol cans. I had travel size dry shampoo and deodorant and a full size bottle of perfume that I had to either throw away or leave outside because I took the train. If you get caught in a pinch and have stuff with you that you'd rather not lose, you can tell them to toss it and they turn it over to the marshall who will put it in the lost and found. It takes a couple of days, but you can retrieve your belongings through them.
I was pleasantly surprised at how seamless jury duty was here. They are accommodating and efficient. It also sounds like they are working on additional ways to make jury service more convenient for the public. My only complaint is that you have to pay for parking and the whole amount isn’t validated.
I was here for a vehicle registration on Monday morning around 7:25 am and they exactly opened the counter at 7:30. The registration was done in 5 mins. #reallyfast. Go with all the required documents and get your job done very quick.
I dreaded going to get copies of legal documents. Everyone from parking attendant, security guards, clerks and cashiers were so friendly and helpful. A wonderful experience. Thanks.
The architecture is absolutely stunning, I was highly impressed by the courtrooms. I got the distinct sense that this is what a courthouse should look like.
The guards a very courtesy, everyone I ran into was very pleasant , getting in to build is smooth they don't make you feel uneasy at all they do there job .
No ADA Handout's in the stainless dispenser. West wall of lobby. 5/24/'22. A.M.
Best courthouse in town, would definitely get divorced here given the chance.
