I started with a set of two people puppets and my collection quickly grew as I experienced first hand the quality and individuality of each new character. It’s wonderful to deal with a company that shares my enthusiasm for the puppets they sell, which makes your shopping experience so much more personal and enjoyable. This was particularly important for me because I was purchasing the puppets from New Zealand and so could rely on them being carefully packaged like they really were priceless treasures, rather than just another purchase from a large corporate company. Gepetto’s has been a part of the Dandenongs for as far back as I can remember. We used to frequent the Olinda store until we discovered today that it had closed permanently and consolidated into the Sassafras store (same owner). We went to visit again today to get a part for a toy that broke earlier, but also to support local businesses that would be hit by the COVID19 situation. We had full intent on making another purchase (which we did), but we also got a part for a previous purchase at no charge even though we offered to pay for it. Great business with friendly service!

We had such a wonderful experience in this shop yesterday. It was my son's birthday and he came in to purchase the Bruder truck he had been saving for, paying for it almost entirely with coins. The woman who served us was marvelous and didn't so much as wince at the number of coins (including something like 285 x 5 cent pieces). I was incredibly impressed by her graciousness. She also gave him a discount because he had saved for it himself. He was so pleased, and it was a great learning experience for him. Wonderful products and such wonderful service.

I bought one of the “Living Puppets” for my daughters 10th birthday. The quality and make is fantastic, and the personality of the gorgeous puppet is incredible. She arrived safely packaged within days of me ordering. This puppet has Brought so much joy to my daughter, she comes everywhere with us now and my daughter is having so much fun practicing ventriloquism or making short role play videos. This was absolutely her favourite present and has provided hours of entertainment. The service from Gepetto’s workshop was absolutely fabulous!

Living abroad certainly doesn't make it easy to source things from back home but Geppetto's workshop really went above and beyond. My daughter fell in love with a finger monster last trip to Australia and we wanted to expand our terrifying line-up. After an email, they were quick to hook us up with their finest monsters and they were sent with the same care I wish Qantas took when I travel myself. Above and beyond. Support your local businesses because they truly make the world go round.

I was absolutely gobsmacked to find a toy store like this in Sassafras. It did not look like much form the outside but once you stepped in, it takes you into another world. The selection of toys were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed browsing through the store. We had a lovely chat with the lady at the counter and ended up buying something from our past - Pick-Up-Sticks. Lovely experience and would definitely be back when we are in the neighbourhood.

Such a special and magical place. The staff that day was friendly and welcoming. Many of the toys are not cheap but clearly, they are well made and not your typical plastic throw away toys. They have exquisitely made puppets, wooden toys of all kinds, costumes, musical instruments and educational toys.If you are looking for unique and special toys for little ones (and not so little ones), this is the place!

Everyone do yourself a favour and pop into this nostalgic store. The store is jam packed of amazing items. It's neat and clean. But most importantly the customer service is impeccable. Isabelle greated us with a hello and an infectious smile. Isabelle answered all our queries without a hesitation and was so warm and friendly. I ordered finger puppets online, on the recommendation of Dion, who talked to me not only by text but also voice, and his recommendation was spot on. The puppets were click and collect safe and beautiful. And what could be seen through the shop windows and on the website indicates a shop of the greatest good taste and quality.

I love visiting Geppettos whenever I need a toy or present, it's an experience. They have a large selection of toys and collectables, so you can always find something great no matter what age you're looking for. Prices are very reasonable and I'm glad to know I'm supporting a local family business.

Great little store in Olina, lots of toys made from wood, puzzles, action figures, magic tricks and lots more, lots a childhood toys like slinky, whoppie cushion, kaleidoscope etc. Some really good retro toys that brought back some memories. If in town highly recommend the visit.

Really unique old school toy shop. Sells lots of amazing puppets, bears, kaleidoscopes and things every kid cannot resist. The online ordering system was good too. Lovely correspondence from one of the women who works there when I ordered some Easter cards Quick shipping too

Great range of toys, most from brands that aren't in generic toy stores/departments. The prices are quite steep but it's to be expected for higher quality! I've encountered a couple of different staff members during visits, all who are super friendly and helpful.

We took a day trip and stumbled upon Geppetto's Workshop. The selection of quality toys was amazing and is one of few places in Australia that sells crazy puppets (from NYC). We bought one on the spot and another online - both seemless experiences.

Love this place. Quality toys. Mixture of good old fashioned quality toys and modern ones. Staff are friendly and a great atmosphere. Sassafras is lovely too. Combine with a food break at one of the many fantastic eateries and make a day of it!

Amazing toy shop! Some deadset brilliant puppets but also covers stuff for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and older kids. Some great prices too. I walked out with a bundle of toys for $100 - totally worth it. Great place.
