Update. 22/5/23. Tried again to make a party reservation for 30 in September. The woman whose job this is is a complete and utter failure at her job. It's been a week. No email reply or call back. (now has been a month) We had this same trouble last year. With i could upload screen shots, but Google won't let me upload the photos. I have proof she doesn't reply. Complete joke!!! Do not even try to book a party or wedding here. You'll just be wasting your time, and they do not respond. Save your money. There's better places in venice. We were stupid, hoping that this year, the service would be better. The event coordinator is a complete joke/ failure. I wish I had her job. Paid to do nothing. Everyone wants that job. 23/8/21. 5 stars for the restaurant itself and the amazing bar tender. Everything we ordered was amazing. Our female waitress had a bit of an attitude, but that's something that's been happening a lot to us. I'm an American girl engaged to an Italian man. The younger women seam to get bent out of shape over this. Anyways, why the 1 star review. We actually had a meeting with the event coordinator. She flaked on us. The hotel was calling her non-stop, trying to figure out what was going on. She was also horrible with contact via email. Seriously unprofessional. You had to call the hotel to be directed to her as she doesn't like to answer her phone. She still won't answer, and you have to leave a voice mail. The hotel felt very embarrassed by her behavior and gave us free drinks as an apology. I hope they fired her. This happened in 2021. We've actually picked a different hotel restaurant. A lot more professional. It's too bad because the food and drinks were very good here. Oh, and telling others about this experience, we were warned that sometimes the hotels can have an attitude towards people if they think you are poor. Her loss. I'm not poor. I own 3 houses around the world. One being water front on Hawaii. We were wearing Dior. But she didn't even show up to see that, lol . She just judged us blindly and flaked out. (First time in a review, I had to say I'm not poor. This is hilarious.) So if you want to plan an event in Venice, I suggest a different venue.

After some research to find the perfect place to take my fiancé for her birthday, Gio’s fit the bill and we went there on our final night in Venice. Now back at our apartment, we are still in awe of the total experience we had. The food, service and view exceeded expectations. This will be a meal we will not forget in a long time. One month prior I had flagged it was a birthday when I made the booking. As my fiancés birthday fell on a Monday it was pleasantly quiet at about 60% capacity. We were offered an incredible table which looked out to the basilica which was beautifully lit and added an enchanting touch to the meal. Service was friendly, informative and just the right amount of interaction. We had 2 starters and two mains which were some of the best food we’ve ever had. Yes this restaurant is expensive, but they delivered 100% and I recommend it for any special occasion. The meals come with pre-appetisers and we’re offered glasses of prosseco on arrival. After the meal, we ordered the tiramasu which they provided a white chocolate slab which said “Buon Compleanno”. Such a classy touch and next time we are in Venice we will be coming back for the tasting / wine pairing menu. Thank you to the staff and chefs, it was incredible!

What a fantastic experience my boyfriend and I had at Gio's Restaurant! I booked this place far in advance as a surprise for my boyfriend birthday dinner, asking for a beautiful table and maybe a surprise dessert after dinner. As soon as we arrived, we were seated, to my opinion to the most beautiful table, overlooking the lagoon and St Mary of Salute's Church. Absolutely romantic and fantastic setting. We've ordered 2 antipasti, pumpkin torta salata, and courgette with mint and egg sauce, and both of them were fantastic. To set the scene, we were given 2 small portions of fried gnocchi with spinach and some sort of beautiful designed leaves with paprika. As main we've ordered faraona with fried artichokes and fiorentina d'agnello, both delicious and perfectly cooked. To accompany everything, our waiter Luca made the whole experience special! He was attentive, never invasive, explained every dishes and listened to any of our requests. Needless to say, the decor of the restaurant and the hotel inside is fantastic. This place is a gem, a must visit when in Venice!! Thank you, team, for making our night special!

What an amazing start to a celebratory birthday dinner. Drinks on the terrace with a wonderful view of the waterway is how we started before moving inside to have dinner. The warm crab salad was simply to die for, something you could eat everyday. That's where the bliss ended, unfortunately, as our waiter seemed to think we had disappeared even though the restaurant was not busy. He never came back to ask how our appetizer tasted although he was walking around right next to our table and not servicing other tables. The staff seemed overly concerned with the fact that their heaters were not working properly versus addressing any of the tables other needs. Almost 45 minutes after the appetizer was picked up we were served our main course. We were not serviced again until the young man who was looking after the majority of the tables on the outside patio began looking after us. The primary waiter finally returned after we decided to skip dessert and ask for the check. Very dissatisfied with the service provided with the high priced menu associated after a wonderful start. I recommend going for drinks and an appetizer, but skip dinner here.

Came here for lunch with my husband after touring all around Italy. This was one of our best picks. Contradictory to the other reviews, our service was attentive and helpful at providing suggestions where needed. Would always come silently check on our plates to clear once we have finished. The Terrance was perfectly covered from the sun/rain, with the amazing view of the waters. Food and drinks were on the expensive side but has been way better than paying for Michelin star restaurants that didn’t deliver. Portions are small but are sophisticated and delicate and full of flavors. We had a quick lunch (2 pastas & 1 dessert & 2 cocktails) the lobster was fantastic. Bill was $95/pp. We came back for dinner.

Such an incredible restaurant within the St. Regis hotel. I was already elated having just been proposed to. But this restaurant was just beautiful and we had the most incredible view. I had no idea that I made a reservation for 1pm instead of 7pm because of our time difference. But the hostess was so accommodating and arranged for us to have a table within 20 minutes. So we were able to order a drink at the bar, then sat in some lovely banquet style booths off to the side and had a video call with our families. Just in time for us to be seated in what I felt, was the best seat in the house. Wonderful dining experience, can't wait to return.

Quintessential Venetian evening, cannot recommend enough! There are no words to describe how beautiful and amazing this place is. I recommend going early (we went 7pm and got seated right against the railing overlooking the Canal). We got to sit all night hearing the boats rock on the water, watched sunset, and experienced the gondolas passing by for hours. The food was delicious, but the service was even better. Veronica and Maria had excellent recommendations for both wine and food, and we enjoyed every sip and bite. The tiramisu is a must-eat. Best one I’ve had in Italy!

Went here for lunch with high hopes based on the reviews but the experience was just ok. The food was decent but not great. I had the blue lobster pasta and my wife had the tasting menu. The pasta sauce was too salty and the dumplings were flavorful but not great. The best part was the tiramisu which was creamy and not too sweet. The atmosphere was pretty but unfortunately there were wooden poles blocking part of the view. The service was just ok as well, there was sauce on the table that wasn’t cleaned up prior to dessert and they only came by a couple of times to check if we had finished a course of the meal.

The place was amazing. It has an amazing view of Basilica di Santa Maria Della Sallute and the Grand Canal. But, we had a hard time finding the location because Gio’s restaurant is located inside StRegis Venice hotel . this information was nowhere to be found. we visited for an aperitif . The service was great and friendly. The best place to enjoy your cocktails with amazing view . we recommend it for morning coffee. The prices were quite expensive but maybe justified due to the location. we paid €110 for 5 Aperol spritz. however, it had many nice sides .

One of my favorites restaurants in Venice. Great food and terrace view is amazing, over the water, one of the best views in Venice :) Modern and vibrant atmosphere with attention to detail. Very kind staff which even gave a small gift to my 3 year old daughter. Definitely recommend this restaurant and the food is worth of the price asked. Hope to come back again on my next trip.

È un'esperienza speciale cenare su di una terrazza affacciata sul Canal Grande a Venezia, il cibo era indubbiamente buono, il servizio eccellente ed il contesto davvero unico. L'esperienza tuttavia è riservata ai ricchi o, comunque, a chi ha buone disponibilità o ha la fortuna di essere invitato (come nel mio caso). Tutto bene, il conto tuttavia era davvero molto impegnativo.

The food was not very good. I ordered pasta with lobster but they forgot the lobster Risotto was hard and full of salt, similar to a TV microwave dinner Wine was good. Service slow. I asked for a 2nd glass of wine and by the time it came I was done with my meal so I canceled it. It was a Tuesday night and slow but for some reason the waiter preferred to chat with staff rather serve us. Good location and that is the reason I rated higher than 1 star. The 300.00 dollar should be 50.00

We had a great dinner date with delicious food and amazing view outside. We went there in the time of sunset so it even looked more marvellous. I had the homemade pasta dumplings and omg it was so good! The steak was great too, exactly as we expected. Seabass was nice, moist with great flavours. We had tea and tiramisu in the end. Both were tasty.

The cocktails & service before our meal were fantastic! The food was okay but not amazing, especially for the price, but the service was very good. The outdoor seating area of the St. Regis Hotel, where Gio's is located, is beautiful & overlooks the Grand Canal where blankets & heaters are provided for the more chilly nights. Would go back for cocktails but not for food.

This has been the best restaurant we've eaten at during our vacation so far. The food was so good and the dessert was amazing.The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff was friendly and attentive. Side note, the restaurant was a little hard to find, you have to enter the St Regis Hotel to get to it. So glad we found this place.

Lovely place for a glass of wine and cicchetti. The rose wine is lovely as is the white. It’s a very luxurious restaurant and bar. You don’t have to be a hotel guest to visit! We were lucky enough to get a table by the canal and it’s very romantic watching the gondolas go by. The service is 5 star

We loved staying at the st Regis and had an amazing time at the bar. When coming to Gios for dinner though our waiter with the hair bun was rude and barely came over to check on us. When ordering he gave us judgmental looks as if we shouldn’t be dining with them. The horrible service from him makes me want to give 0 stars but many others in the restaurant were very nice and accommodated my vegetarian diet making me an asparagus risotto.

Truly delicious food and wine with one of the best views in Venice. The service is super attentive and helpful. If you want to enjoy a bit of peace and quite away from the crowds of Venice, with amazing tastes that go with it it’s definitely worth considering stopping by here. A bit on the pricy side but worth every cent!

The restaurant is located inside the STRegis Venice. It has inside and outside seating facing the grand canal. The food is very good and the staff is attentive, quick and professional. Kudos to our waiter Luca, he is very polite and knows his job. We eat from the a la carte menu. The food is very good and the view amazing.

Amazing experience at Gio's. They accommodated us for our anniversary and made us feel very special. The tasting menu was unique and very well balanced. Would recommend the wine pairings as they complimented the meal perfectly. Would not hesitate to return.

Absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered! Especially seafood ravioli! Location and service couldn’t be better! Clear Bloody Mary was interesting but I prefer a regular one. A must go when in Venice in my opinion!

The best fine dining experience in Venice! The hotel/restaurant has the perfect location very warm hospitality from the people in the service, the food was outstanding definetely deserves a Michelin star. Highly recommended for special occasions/couples who want to celebrate their anniversary in this magic city.

Truly the best spaghetti al pomodoro I ever had.. (it is spaghetti ai tre pomodori on the menu)!! Polpo, steak, and the tiramisù were nice as well, but the spaghetti was just amazing. I was lost for words.. The view and the hospitality were amazing as well! Will def visit again for my next trip to Venice!! Hope the chef will be still there ..

We've booked a lunch here because of the view. Everyone was very professional, friendly and welcoming from the minute we've arrived. The food - even though it's a bit pricey - was excellent, very good quality, very tasty. I would recommend this place if you want get away from the busy streets of Venice and have a peaceful lunch with a beautiful view.

Pricey of course but didn't deter from us having a wonder meal there. Service excellent, patient and friendly. Food delicious as were the cocktails. Can't wait to return when the weather is a bit cooler.

Non credo ci sia altro posto se non qui, a Venezia, per avere la vista più bella sul Canal Grande e gustare pietanze di alto livello, accompagnati da camerieri impeccabili e disponibili. Nota di merito Enrico, il restaurant manager e Miriam, sommelier, dalla disponibilità, pazienza e competenza senza eguali.

It’s a nice cosy place. Very good view in the water front. Food is little costly, we had food with truffles, their coffee and desert is good to try.

Expensive but you pay for the location and the view which are both sublime. The food is delicious although the portions are quite small. The wine list is over-priced. The staff are brilliant. Tricky to find the entrance (through the hotel) if you come by foot.

Came here for some drinks and afternoon snacks, it was amazing. The service is really good, and the view from the other side of the canal is nice. Drinks and food were really good. Environment is also really nice for enjoying some time in the afternoon.
