I stumbled on this place when I was looking for a Middle Eastern grocery and butcher (next door). They have brick ovens, fresh pastries, incredible cookies, and all made in an open kitchen right in front of you. I've never tasted better pita and flat bread in the US, and I've sampled bakeries in Detroit and New York. If you're looking for the best cookies in Charlotte, try this place. The sweets are not cheap...the owner told me they use real butter, pistachios, almonds, and dark chocolate for their cookies, for instance. My wife had me order two boxes for a party, and 4 lbs. of pastries went in one night.
This review is overdue. I used Uber Eats for dinner on Thursday, 11-17-22 for lunch. The portions were enough for both lunch and dinner. I ordered the lamb sambousa, fried eggplant baba ghanouj, cheese manakish, and warbat. I wasn't expecting the lamb to only be lamb meat. Most other sambousa I've has had vegetables; it was still good. The eggplant was different but it was good. The baklava was ok. Not really enough pistachios to make a difference in taste.

Dicey! I arrived shortly after opening and all the baked goods in the deli case were from the day before (at least), and looked old and unappetizing. The cigarette smoke flooding the inside of the store was also a huge turnoff. I drove 5 minutes to another market down the street where the selection, quality, and prices were better.
Quality has gone way done. You don't know when the bread in racks were baked. I had for one day and next mold was on it. When they 1st opened up years ago it was clean and well run. Now they have a 90 on Health Score. They don't have that much so they should have a 100%.
My GF wanted to try Baklava so I did a search and found this place..... I purchased a pound of Pistachio Baklava for $19 a pound. did not taste good at all. you can barely see any pistachio in it, and definitely cannot taste it.... and there was a doughy aftertaste.
Ordered on doordash. Had chicken schwarma, an order of warbat, and an order of spinach feta pies. Everything tasted fresh and good. The chicken schwarma had a curry flavor to it, and the warbat was soft, creamy, and decadent. Will happily order from here again!
TOP 3 REASONS to mo longer eat at this establishment employee failing to wash hands after handling the phone, donning gloves; sanitizer bucket improperly stored in hand washing sink; food buildup found on strainer,
The worst baklava I have ever had. Inedible. Ordered via Uber Eats and there was literally no honey and it was so dry. The spinach and feta pie was the same, could not eat. Terrible and disappointing!
Got the babaganoush, the spinach and cheese fatayer, and the lahm bi ajeen manakish and it was all so tasty! Very flavorful and a little spicy. Would definitely order again
Tried this bakery again. Counter man adamantly asked which cookie. If they put a number or name on cookies it would be smart. They're very quiet and separate. …
This place is a magnificent gem! The food is THE BEST and the market well shocked. Prices are spot in and I take every visitor here for carry out!
Staff were very rude. There was a guy at the "cashier" just telling the old man to do everything while he was just sitting scrolling on his phone.
Love everything - I find all stuff I need and when having special orders from the bakery they are friendly and make delicious food
The pita is amazing and incredibly priced. Don't just get one bag, because you will eat the first bag in the car on the way home.
Excellent fresh bakery. Amazing zaatar and cheese bread. Good prices. Friendly service.
