I absolutely love Chinese food. Especially authentic Chinese food. This place however is neither authentic or good. The foods taste is compatible to a shopping mall Chinese venue in the food court. It is just a lot more expensive. They also overload the dishes with vegetables like onions and green peppers so they can skimp on the proteins like chicken. So if you want to pay $15 for a bowel of shopped onions and green peppers this is your joint. To give you an idea just how cheap these people are I ordered over $100 worth of food for four (“4”) people. They provided us with one, yes ONE (“1”) tiny packet of soya sauce. When I called to complain the woman that answered the phone argued I don’t need soya sauce for my food. Lol I’m still trying to wrap my head around how this woman knows what we like and don’t like. Had the food not been so bland yeah maybe we wouldn’t need it but that wasn’t the case. We had the food delivered by skip the dishes and so the lady at the golden palace told me to come pick more up if I want more. Ok so I’m supposed to leave my guests and let my food get cold so I can pickup what really should have already been provided and should be a no brainer when over $100 worth of food was ordered. In summary if you are considering Chinese food in this area I strongly recommend against this place. They didn’t even have any interest in rectifying the issue they caused. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. The mall Chinese food is just as good or better and it’s cheaper and you will get as much condiments as you want.

I food is OK if you're really hungry. But there are much better options out there. I had sometimes stopped here when we want something quick. However, last time I went there, I decided to order 3 things. I ordered inside the restaurant off the menu hanging on the wall. The price for the 3 items were $5.99 + $6.99 + $10.99 =$23.97. Plus tax should have been around $27. She rang it up and was going to charge me an extra $1 for using a credit card, which I declined and used my debit card instead. Final total?? Over $33. I asked why the price difference and the person got quite animated and said "No! That an old menu. New prices on the website!" My kids really wanted 2 of the items, so I them and politely declined the more expensive item. As I was leaving, I grabbed one of the takeout menus outside of the door. All of the prices were the same as the menu hanging in the restaurant. It was a good option when prices were inexpensive. I will now try to find a better option at reasonable price and better quality food.

If you are in this area of Oakville and want some takeout late at night this is the option. The menu was classic take-out chinese with a we done the same way every time type style. I ordered some chicken balls and they were made quickly, there are benches to sit on with an ethnic style of music playing I cant remember well. Its exactly what Im used to in this style of takeout. Unfortunately this place closed early on my next trip, it's a decent satisfying establishment but when they say they're open I couldn't grab a dish because they were locked up and closed early, im hungry so 1 star because i have to go home and order delivery from somewhere else. Another update: this place is good enough for anytime so I gave them another shot, this time I tried to order over the phone. The gentleman who answered said hello several times, asked if I wanted an order, told me to wait, after 45 seconds I was hung up on. If they call back I will update, otherwise I'm going home to order delivery from somewhere else again!

If you remember the chain of Chinese restaurants around toronto called HO LEE CHOW . They abruptly closed back in 2005. I used to get couple of dishes from them and I always had one favourite dish. After the closure of HO LEE CHOW I went on a Chinese food hunt to find my old favourite, after many searches and trail, I found this place, as soon as I found out that the owners are ex owners of HO LEE CHOW on Winston Churchill I was ecstatic. I’ve been their customer since 2008 and I always get one dish (satay chicken). They make it very well. I like that dish so much that I would choose that as my last meal before checking out.

Today I ordered the "Lemon Chicken Stir Fry". I was excited to try the new dish after I waited over half an hour to get it. I hurriedly helped myself to the food and ate a bite of the chicken, and then I froze in disgust. The chicken seemed to be full of air and breading, and the actual chicken was small in portion and very chewy. I decided to try the rest of the dish which consisted of peppers and onions, which all tasted like they were nearly raw. The positive about the dish was the lemon sauce, which was very sweet, and after a while, the sweetness turned nauseating. This was the worst $16 I have ever spent in my life, and I believe the food is for animals, not for paying customers.

I agree with some of the other reviews that the portion sizes here are huge. Unfortunately that doesn't go for the taste of the food. I truly found it very bland. The egg rolls had an unusual taste that I couldn't pinpoint and the BBQ pork fried rice while huge...didn't have the distinctive taste of normal pork fried rice...it didn't have much flavor at all. The chicken balls were pretty good as was the sweet and sour sauce. It's not that any of the food was bad....it was just bland. I'm used to amazing chinese food at Tremendous Chinese so this was a bit of a disappointment. Maybe I had the bar set too high...I was just hoping to find delicious Chinese food in South Mississauga.

I should have read the reviews before going. This place is horrible. I asked for chilli chicken and got basically onions and green peppers with maybe a few pieces of non chilli chicken. The customer service was horrible as well. I asked the lady for chopsticks and utensils because she didn't include any and she gave me a dirty look and rushed me off by placing something quickly in the bag. When I got back home and opened the bag there were no chopsticks included. She cheaped out on that as well. Not a pleasant experience and the owner wasn't very nice. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else

We ordered from here as they had good reviews on SkipTheDishes but we should have checked Google as the recent reviews are very accurate here. The food was terrible and we ended up throwing it out. We ordered a few chicken dishes, a beef dish and noodles. Both the chicken and beef had a super concerning texture - chewy and spongey. It didn’t seem like real meat at all and we didn’t trust eating it. The noodles were okay, but cold and again the chicken (unbreaded here) was insanely chewy. Would never order again.

I'm wasnt too happy with the way I was treated at this place. I asked an older lady at the storefront to show me what the meal sizes look like and she was very upset I even asked. I felt scrutinized, and very uncomfortable. I rated two stars instead of one because the food tasted great! Message to the owner: Please improve customer care training to your employee/employees and your place of business is five start worthy! I will give the place another go in a few weeks and will adjust my rating if I'm treated with some respect. Thanks.

Ordered from uber eats and here are my thoughts: did not like it AT ALL. Probably the wordt chinese food ive ever had. The descriptions on uber eats are completely wrong and you do not state other items that come with the dish which is a big NO especially if someone has allergies. Also, the chicken was like rubber we could not eat it. I'm sad to throw out food and truly am grateful for food but this was just not edible. :( also the prices are too expensive for the portion size.

I ordered pickup, Black pepper beef with steamed rice ($17). Food tasted OK and had good amount of spice but portion was unbalanced and could have used more beef, it was basically all onion under the top layer. This is a very small takeout place with no seating and it looks pretty dingy on the outside, the inside is not much better as it's very cluttered and not very appealing. There is parking available and service was pretty quick. The experience was definitely not anything special, I don't think I will be back anytime soon.

Horrible food, ordered online on uber eats, took almost 1 hour to get to me and the food had this weird taste and smell. Ordered the general tao chicken and chicken fried rice along with the chicken corn soup. All very bad. The soup was horrible, and the chicken in the fried rice was bleach white, it looked, smelled, and tasted weird. The General Tao chicken was okay, but tasted a lot like plastic. Would not recommend and will not eat here again ever. Sorry Golden Palace. 1 out of 5.

Don’t bother coming unless you want to feed more than one person. You will be made to feel stupid for asking if they do a combo for one (like everyone else in the Chinese takeout business). Then you will be ignored and not offered a solution for the fact that you are one person who wants to exchange money for food. These people are not serious about customer service.

I just called to place an order for chilli chicken and I asked for it in gravy style. I’m from Toronto and when we order chilli chicken I’m used to it dry or gravy. That’s not even the point the lady says to me that we aren’t an Indian store and don’t know what you mean by gravy ?? How does gravy mean Indian ? I don’t think anybody who buys from here is getting the real deal on chilli chicken. Super upset by the way this person talked to me.

Low quality and waste of $. More vegetables than meat in the dishes.. like you really have to dig to find a meat piece. I love hot and sour soup. You can say I am a connoisseur of hot n sour soup. Lets just say this place is doing an injustice to the soup. Would not recommend. Please make the prices appropriately reflect the quantity and quality of the food.

I called to order my food when the lady answered she ask me what I will like when telling her my order she stopped me from talk and told.me that there chilli chicken is different from others and that it has vegetables and I might not like it she refuses to continue to take my order and hangs up i never expected this crazy I had an 87 $ order she worked on December 20 . 2021 at 10:40 pm

It's a good local place and has been in our community for many years. Food is usually fine but sometimes heavy on the vegetables / breading and less meat than average. On one occasion, ordered dinner for four and specifically asked for no onions. Was assured that only the spring rolls have onion. This is one of the dishes that arrived :(

I ordered chicken fried rice and General Tao chicken. The chicken was so rubbery I couldn’t even consume it. I had to throw it out. I had to throw it out. I was actually afraid to continue eating. The texture did not feel right. Unfortunately I would not recommend this location for takeout.

I do not recommend!! This restaurant has one of the worst customer service around. I called to ask about a menu item (chicken fried rice) and she sighed on phone severally before answering in an outrageously rude manner and then hung up the phone. That lady answering the phone is very ill-mannered and bad-tempered.

I called at 10:10 pm, all I wanted was two orders of wonton soup, they answered, I asked for pickup for wonton soup, he said no problem just one? And I said no two please, and he goes oh no sorry we are closed so I said you close at 11:30? And he just goes no sorry we’re closed and hangs up …

Last night I found this place on a Clarkson Facebook group as being highly recommended. My experience was bad - I ordered chicken lo mein which cost $15 and the meat had a chewy texture of a soy based product. The taste was bland and nothing great. I do not recommend Golden Palace Restaurant.

Food quality is not the best. We ordered from Uber eats and it too a while to get the food delivered. Noodle meal with shrimp and they only put 4 shrimps!! Very disappointed. We do not recommend this restaurant

Zero stars as the food was horrible for the 60 bucks i spent. Noodles were sloppy portions were very small and all deep fried food was over cooked n barely any chicken in the balls and the lemon chicken wasn't even real chicken breast. So not happy will never go there again.

Great crunchy stir fried veggies! However, Oversalted sauces in general, and weird tasting meat. Nice service but employee was not wearing mask. I'd say okay food but given the price point and salt content won't be returning.

The food here is great. Large portions and very tasty. It has the standard Asian fare but the flavors are not standard. I would say the flavor is closer to true Chinese than the standard fare you get anywhere else.

I had a vegetarian dish but, it really neither tasted nor smelt like a vegetarian food :-( But, for those non-vegetarians who wants a vegetarian dish, they atleast have more options. The quantity was more as well.

For a small order they told me 20 mins. Took 45! Service is terrible and not worth it. Use Skip the Dishes if you really want because they prioritize those orders over people waiting to pickup. Not going again.
