So how is the Golden sip. Well the food is better, the staff are just as friendly and really can't find a better Nepali place than this. The momos the mixed grill and OMG the garlic naan. The simpler menu just works. Go there to support a good local business. Keep going people. Let the food speak. Anyway see below for my review from 2013. This review is what I posted almost 10 years ago. Golden Sip hosted our wedding reception here in London and it was fantastic! Raj and his team were fantastic! They looked after everything really well especially when it rained and everything started getting delayed! The food was amazing! I never thought it would taste even better than the taster session we had prior to the event! Amazing food, and friendly waiting staff make this place the best in the area. Try the Nepalese food as it is very different to your traditional Indian Fare

The food what we ate is ok but the customer services is zero . How waiter telling the customers that kinds of things. I’m totally disappointed and We left the restaurant without eating a mains . It’s a shame day for us in a new year day

My saddest dinner ive ever experienced. The most bland peshwari naan ive ever had, and flavourless meat samosa. I had to ask salted butter to smother in my naan but they gave me salt shaker! Ha! I cant believe some reviews described the food as amazing. An insult to the word itself. Gosh, i cant imagine what you people eat to describe these food that they serve as "amazing". Service was super slow too as per other reviewers, we had to cancel the lamb biryani that we ordered as we already finished our lamb chops and the biryani was still nowhere to be seen. We left the restaurant feeling depressed and had to have a decent meal from Chautari(another nepalese restaurant 1 minute away from this place) which was WAY better that this. We shouldnt have wasted our money and emotions here in the first place. Sorry Golden Sip, but damn your food was the saddest in my history of dining.

We have been to this restaurant for many years now. This is classic fusion food from Indian and Nepal. We can vouch for pretty much most dishes but never reviewed and this deserves a review. We are regular customers. The momo's (chilli) and chicken lollipops are excellent and are house favourite and we always order these starters. Mains and naans are of high standard as are the rice dishes (biriyani/raita) we have consumed in the past. We have never consumed desserts. Drinks can be hit and miss and you have to be on the ball when ordering and asking for your bill - hence the minus start. Generally speaking, service is fine. This is some of the best food in the area, we always come here and maybe nearby Blue Ginger can compete. I have had the chicken tikka masala numerous times and its one of the best I have tried. Give this place a go, you will enjoy the food!

  • Aditya Thapa

If only there was a minus star rating would justify the quality of this resturant. The most unprofessional Nepalese restaurant in the town. The staff haven't got a clue about what hospitality means. The owner of the restaurant is arrogant and his behaviour towards the guest is very rude diminishing the core value of Nepalese culture not very welcoming. The food is awful as you can taste only chilli and lemon poured all over it. The tables and chairs are covered with dirty white clothing giving it a feeling of a banquet hall rather than a restaurant . It takes ages for the food to be served and the waiting staff are lost in their own world when asked upon a question about the food.Highly recommend to avoid this place at all .

  • Bandish T

The food was great! The place does need a refurbishment and a good clean. However this all can be overlooked if the customer service was good! Along with all our food we ordered masala mogo which the waitress repeated our order to confirm, i was absolutely perplexed to see the way the order had come out (i.e. we recieved the poppadoms right at the end), i still had to call someone over to ask them how long it will take! In the end we got the bill and still did not even get our "masala mogo"! It made it worse to see that they did not add this to the bill so they had completely disregarded one of the dishes!! Main issues here "CUSTOMER SERVICE" and "WAITING TIME" was appalling and must change!!

  • Rajesh Paudel

Even one star is too much as they don't deserve it at all. Was there for the Birthday party of my daughter but got very bad experience, it just west of money . Please do not prefer this place for any occassion . Asbolutely unprofessional team managemwnt , even does not know the basic principle of doing things . Not good customer service at all . The starter was supposed to be ready at 6:PM but did not arrived until 7:30 PM . Everyone were hungry waiting for the food. Also similar things happened with main course . Due to the delay some of my guest went without eating . Very poor management. Did not receive even apologies from management. Rude behavioir not a good hospitality to the customer .

Absolutely love this local restaurant. Food is lovely. Its a real chill out place to meet with lads and just have a good old catch up. Food is well presented and hygiene is good. Never had issues from here. One of my fav little restaurants with Genuine Nepalese and Indian food. Just a bit of slow service. And obviously needs a bit of renovating inside but I ain't fussed! Cheers to the chefs they do a great job!

Cant rate the place highly enough almost a hidden gem in london. The food is absolutely gorgeous- its based in Harrow and the chili momos - chatpate pop are to die for . Pair it with some chicken fried rice and you’re gonna become a regular at the joint. Dont be fooled by the dry environment this place is all about the food. Staff are extremely friendly and the owners son is always there to make sure the quality is always top notch. My go to place whenever I’m craving nepalese food. Best Ive had in london 9/10

Very nice food However, we have booked fir an event to our surprise we got tgere to find out there was another event taking place and we arevNHS staff from the local hospital who have looked after the owner of this place previously admitted to jennet ward. How disrespectful could you be. Shame on you you don't value your customer and the nurses who have looked after you.

Unfortunately this was not a good experience for me, as the service was bad. Firstly service was very slow baring in mind the other couple of tables getting special treatment. And secondly when I ordered my meal the waiter comeback after 30 mins telling me they ran out of Chicken or Lamb and plus drink service was poor. My wife was diabetic and couldn't have a Diet Coke and only alternative is glass of water. At the end I had to walk out hungry. Will not visit again.

  • Hajira Ali

Beautiful Nepalese authentic cuisine. Always satisfying for myself, hubby and children. Very reasonably priced menus and the standard of their quality has been maintained for many years. Ok, so the food can take a while to be cooked but that is because it is freshly done - we always order prior to arriving & our food is brought straight out sizzling hot. The bill is always surprising but in a good way. When you try out this place I recommend the chilly paneer.

  • Robert Chohan

I have been only once, and at that for a wedding reception in their banquet hall. I haven't had TOO much experience with nepalese food (probably under five restaurants) but this was my favourite. Everything was well spiced, but not pungent like Indian food, variety was great, and I even perused their normal menu which entices me to visit again for a normal sit down meal. Alcoholic drinks choices are a bit poor, but to be expected in asian places anyway

  • P LG

Never ordering takeaway from this place ever again. Placed an order at 8, called back at 9 as I hadn't received my oder and they said it will take 20 more minutes. Called back at 9.30 as still no delivery to which they said it's still not ready and overheard the staff saying they shouldn't have taken deliveries that day. What a terrible service making me wait for hour and half and in the end no food and not even a word of apology. TERRIBLE

  • Amir Dangol

I am now amending my review from 1 star to 5 stars as I am now fully convinced the food, ambient and service is truely a five star after having dinner and take always multiple times over last couple of years. I would recommend anyone to try Nepali Thali set & momo if you are unsure what to order as it will give anyone a pleasant taste of Nepal. I am sure you will not get disappointed with your visit, staff have always been very friendly.

  • Suyen Limbu

Being a Nepali far away from home i cherish every moment i get to spend at this restaurant. The food reminds me of all my memories enjoying the delicious food and love from back home with my friends and family. The ambience and warm company of the family that run the restaurant is something i treasure in my daily life. If you are ever anywhere close i recommend you definetly give this place a go !! Newari Khaja Set is a must.

  • Darshan

Really hope the owners read these reviews Used to be really nice and went back yesterday for the first time in several years. The place needs a revamp massively. Half of it is hardfloor and half carpet. The carpet needs replacing or changing to hardfloor. The service was fine and hence 2 stars but food wasn't great. He said the chef was new but everything we ordered was average at best. Up your game and I'll be back

Local Nepalese restaurant, very popular with the Nepali community. Everyone is welcome, they have an event / party space available as well. Nepalese street food is on the menu alongside a range of dishes better known to non Nepalese. Well priced and a friendly atmosphere. they also have a bar area with big TV's if you just want a drink with some tasty snacks whilst you watch the football.

  • Atit Thapa

Absolutely Brilliant. Had my sister's Wedding reception/party there. Great food with friendly, well managed and very trustful staff who took care of all my guests with no issues. A BIG shout out to Neeru Ji for all her help made it less stressful for me. Definitely going back there very soon again.. Thank you!! GOLDEN SIP for that day will always remain in my life forever.

  • Kiran K. Subba

Very nice place for gathering such as birthday party, anniversaries & small wedding reception etc. Can get delicios foods though it takes bit of time to arrive. Good Bar & hang out place for Sports lovers with big Tv screen with plenty live Sports channel. Well only draw back is free parking is very limited with 1st come 1st serve off street parking. Thank you.

  • Salil Thakuri

One of the best customer service i got from the staff, authentic nepali taste on Nepalese food and right spices on indian options, heaven for foodies.MUST TRY NEWARI SET,CHICKEN TIKKA.I think golden sip is one of the few nepali resturants which has a wide range of options for draught beer and cocktails as well . satisfaction every time i visit the place.

  • bipin gurung

Very bad service and staff, even though they had enough staff on the floor, we had to ask for the menu and call the staff to take the order. service was very slow and food came so slow as it took 1 hour for momo to be served , food was slightly better than last time but overall service was very slow, not going back again for the same waiting game.

  • David Mohamed

This is Heaven, the food is to die for this is what food should be like. If you don't know it's a mixture of Indian and Chinese (Indonesian) a combination of full flavours sweet sour to make your mouth water. The prices will reflect the quality and effort gone into the dishes. But you pay for what you get is the motto but well worth it.

Twice ordered takeaway in space of couple of months and twice had to wait 30 mins after arriving on time! Staff weren't bothered about it. Shows lack of customer service. Food was good though. Not going to order again from here especially as better options nearby such as Venue 5 who although more expensive dont mess you around!

  • Watch Dogg

Went here for lunch, inside was dead no one there. Place looked ok though bar was nice plenty of tables and it was clean. Anyway, spoke to a guy and asked him for the lunch menu. I was surprised to see curry with naan and rice for £4.50. I got lamb vindaloo, was brought out fresh tased nice and a bargain for the price

  • vinay kumar

we visited the restaurant on 14th feb 2022 to celebrate the birthday party of my friend.Very arrogant and rude behaviour by the staff and the person claims as the owner of the restaurant. he has spoiled my friends birthday party and does not have manners to speak to woman. I will not recommend thus place as friendly.

  • Claire Elek

Despite the rather unpolished & very casual surroundings, this restaurant delivered absolutely delicious traditional Nepalese food that we'd been searching for since our return from Nepal. It took an hour to drive there with our children in tow & we'll definitely be going back. Highly recommend the Nepali Thali!

  • Sunil Sharma

Took over an hour for two items ordered for takeaway, upon receiving the order and complaining about the time it took they shrugged their shoulders and said we are busy! At least have some decency to offer a discount or throw in some extra food, last and final time I purchase from these guys again.

The food was very very good. The flavours were spot on and everything tasted as expected. However, as good as the food was, that's how slow the service was, we had to ask a number of times how long the food would take and the place was not that busy.

  • AmScherzy

They make okay food but the service was just really slow. The food arrived very late which was disappointing. They're also quite pricey compared to other places which I wouldn't mind paying if they had cooked the naan properly. Won't be going again.

  • Srishti Thapa

Although it's a bit sparsely decorated, the food was very good. We ordered the Newari thalis (dried rice flakes with various side dishes) and the pork momos (steamed and with 'jhol' - a delicious spicy gravy). The portions were generous and tasty.
