Toilets are often dirty, no aircon and faulty computers. Not sure what my tuition fees are paying for tbh. Also seems to be a lack of respect for quiet study areas and no one to enforce the rules? Really disadvantages those with nowhere else to complete assignments. The only significant interaction I've had with staff is having my student ID checked to make sure I'm authorised to be here. I would've thought fixing broken hardware and maintaining the building might be more of a priority.
The variety of resources of the library is lovely and so is the the pick up system. However, I think that there is some problem with the pipes and sewage, because many times the stairs that communicate the different floors have a very strong and unpleasant smell that I won't really describe. Also, more sofas and comfortable areas could be offered apart from the bunch of sofas that they have (which are very nice, by the way).
Tried using the SCONUL service here but the guy at reception didn't understand how it worked so insisted I went to website to fill in another form. Was extremely condescending and raised his voice at me when I tried to explain what the SCONUL confirmation emails were saying. Even though it's close, don't plan to visit again.
Great place to study. Could you please activate an automated voice answering message to the phone line whenever the library help desk is closed? Sometimes, we are not able to tell if the phone operator is off the phone or if the library help desk is closed.
Awful reception, not very welcoming to guests who are looking around/searching for computers to use for work.
Quiet space, decent hours during the pandemic, and nicely spaced around.
Nice library but not enough space.
When will the library open again?
